I'm sorry, but I'm gonna say it anyway. You aren't gettin' super tall in high school, so you can stop fantasizin' about kabedon-ing a girl! Or a boy. No need to be picky, y'know?

Anyhoo…

Yeah, that sounded like the future ain't bright for ya at all. But, don't worry, little-er Minoru. That time in high school, in U.A. High, is gonna be somethin' you'll never forget. Trust me.

You might feel like you're walkin' this path alone, but someday, you'll find a buncha crazy and amazing people on the same road, people that'll never let you go and care about you a ton. Even at your worst times, don't count on them not bein' there! 'Cus they will be, no matter what! You'll be surprised!

With them by your side, you'll get plenty stronger, and you might even be able to be there for them! Though, I don't wanna spoil your interesting life too much. People that spoil stuff are the worst, besides villains!

How does the Futari wa Pretty Cure theme song go again? "Good fortune and laughter will surely arrive! The negatives will all blow away!" Life's really unfair, we definitely got dealt a sucky hand, and there'll even come times where you wonder if going down this path was even the right move.

But please, don't stop running. Don't give up, don't stop' workin', an' don't stop thinkin' "I can do it!". 'Cus when the chips are down, your hard work won't betray you.

Being small isn't as bad as you think.

Us little guys can fight, too. An' us little guys are the coolest heroes around!

This was a present for Mineta's birthday, I had posted this on the day on my Tumblr. I've been looking through my old BNHA works, and I really like them, so I wanna crosspost them here and on AO3 too.

When I first saw the concept of a character writing to themselves in the past through Haikyu, I thought it was totally out of my ability, getting into a character's head, thinking about how they'd write and how to communicate the kind of lessons they'd learned. There's quite a bit to think about for something so short.

But...I'd say I can manage if Mineta's involved. Though at this point, it's more from the perspective of who I wish Mineta was (bisexual and a sweet guy who's changed for the better) than who he actually is (not that). Oh well, such is the Mineta fan struggle. I hope this still reads like him, despite that.

I hope you enjoyed this, once I got into it, it was pretty fun to write! And I'm rather proud of myself for managing to pull this off, let's do another present next year!
