It had been several days since the Dino Thunder Rangers find out about Trent and his disappearing. There had also been no breakthrough in freeing Tommy from the block of amber that he had been trapped in. Kaya talked to Principal Randall that she will handle Tommy's classes without having Principal Randall getting irritated. Kaya is seen sitting at the stairs while watching the students hung out in the Dino Lab as Hayley continued more tests in attempting to free the Black Ranger while doing each of their own things. Ethan played a new computer game, Kira practiced on her guitar, and Connor was kicking his ball around. Kaya shook her head after sensing the bond from Tommy cussing at his students especially Connor for bringing the soccer ball into the Dino Lab.
"Hayley! One more level and I break my all-time record!" Ethan called to Hayley as she scanned the amber.
"I just don't know how you can play that game. It wasn't invented in my time," Kaya mumbled since she learned many things every day.
Connor smirked as he picked the soccer ball up and tossed it onto the geek's laptop by switching it off.
"Connor!" Ethan cried out.
"Sorry," Connor didn't sound very apologetic as he retrieved his ball.
"Now I have to start all over," Ethan got to his feet, looking upset.
"Boys..." Kaya mumbled.
"Yeah, there's this great new thing called the outdoors. You might wanna check it out," Connor told Ethan as Ethan walked past him.
"Tell you what. I'll check that out when I see you checking out the library," Ethan challenged the Red Ranger brightly.
Kaya smirked knowing that between the jock and the nerd of Red and Blue haven't changed a bit since the boys do reminds her of her friends. Connor started laughing and looked over at Kira.
"You got about as much chance of seeing that as Kira at a fashion show or Kaya at a dance studio," Connor smirked.
Kira and Kaya looked at the boys so quickly as Kira's guitar twanging loudly. Kaya glared at Connor knowing he is the one who made comment.
"Do you really wanna go there?" Kira scowled at the boys.
"Do I need to remind you that I can hear everything you say?" Kaya asked glaring at Connor.
Connor and Ethan shake their heads. Kaya and Kira glared at Connor as Ethan walked over to Hayley.
"Hey, any luck on defossilizing Dr. O?" Ethan asked.
"Not yet," Hayley sighed glancing at the Blue Ranger, "I just can't find an energy source that can safely break the molecular bonds of the amber."
The alarm began to beep loudly cause all of them went to the computer to see what is going on. Hayley and Kaya looking at the computer seeing something appear since neither of them knows what is going on.
"That's weird," Kaya said.
"The satellite's picking up a strange reading in the forest," Hayley frowned.
"Let's go check it out," Connor glanced to his friends, who nodded.
"I'm going with you guys," Kaya said as she joined them.
The four walked through the forest heading towards the coordinates where the strange reading was coming from. When they reached it, they found that they weren't the first to arrive.
"Trent?" Kira frowned when she saw the With Ranger crouched beside it, accompanied by Cassidy and Devin.
"What are you guys doing here?" Trent's eyes widen as he looked over at them.
"I might ask you the same thing," Connor growled, "Haven't seen you around for a while."
Both Connor and Ethan had their guard up ready to fight Trent. Kaya had her guard up ever since entering the forest as she is silent while watching. Cassidy and Devin exchanged confused looks as Trent sighed.
"We really need to catch up," Ethan said equally hostile.
"Not now, guys," Kira warned the boys quietly.
"Kira's right. Plus, you do not want Trent to morph in front of them that they don't know about it," Kaya hissed at Connor and Ethan reminding them about the rules.
"Let's check this thing out," Connor decided while glaring suspiciously at Trent.
"Pardon me, but I don't think I'm supposed to let you do that," a monster told them nervously.
The monster was surrounded by Tyrannodrones. Kaya heard the tone in the monster's voice and knew that something is going wrong very quickly with the rock that gave the strange reading blasting out some sparks and energy when she glanced at the rock. Cassidy let out a whimper when seeing the monsters.
"Quick, run!" Cassidy cried to Devin and the pair took off as the Tyrannodrones attacked.
"Whose side are you on today, Trent?" Connor called over to the White Ranger as they all stood around the strange rock.
"You want my help or not?" Trent yelled back.
"Yes please," Kaya replied quickly as she got into her fighting stance.
"If it's all the same, I'll just watch from over here," the monster told them.
The Tyrannodrones attacked them. They fought them off easily before their morphers began to beeps.
"Guys, I'm analyzing the radiation from that rock, and it's really freak. Get away from it," Hayley told them, sounding worried.
"It's a little late for that," Kira snapped at Hayley before taking another Tyrannodrone down.
"So that's why I got a weird feeling about that rock," Kaya mumbled.
"What a strange little rock..." the monster mused as he approached it cautiously.
A moment later, the monster was letting out a loud growl. Kaya turns her head to the monster and noticed the change in the personality.
"Hey! I want a piece of the action!" the monster declared running at Connor.
The monster swung his mace-like fist at the Red Ranger. Kaya saw the attack so she created the force field around Connor to block the attack. The monster is mad at the Power Rangers.
"Come on you wimps! Put 'em up!" the monster roared as the Rangers stood up together.
"It's time," Kaya said.
Ethan looked at Connor who nodded as their morpehrs revealed themselves.
"Ready?" Connor asked.
"Ready!" the Rangers replied.
"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP! HA!"
The Rangers morphed and continued fighting while taking down the Tyrannodrones much faster. Kaya noticed a light fly up from the rock and hit Trent, who stumbled as his vision blurred. Trent ran off quickly as Kaya got frowned but got the feeling that she needs to watch out for the lights. More of the lights shot up from the rock and hits the Rangers.
"Oh yeah!" Ethan suddenly yelled and with a fierceness that the others had never seen him demonstrate before as Ethan took out many Tyrannodrones.
The monster sees that he is losing and retreats with the rest of the Tyrannodrones. The Rangers ran to regroup except Kaya.
"Ok, power down," Connor demorphed, "Well that was a challenging altercation."
"I was just getting started! I wanted to annihilate that goon!" Ethan growled looking furious.
"Ew! I got dirt under my nails. That's, like, totally disgusting," Kira complained as she studied her fingernails.
Connor, Ethan, and Kira looked at Kaya who didn't demorphed like the rest of them.
"Kaya?" Kira asked.
Kaya let out an evil laughed and attack the Rangers. The Rangers dodged not knowing what is going on with Kaya. The morphers went off since it is from Hayley.
"Guys, head back to the lab. I have some news about the space rock," Hayley spoken.
"Later Rangers as you three are lucky," Kaya snarled before disappeared.
Kaya appears in the Dino Lab behind Hayley after the kids left the lab. She can see that Hayley noticed the problem but wonder where did Kaya go. Kaya smirked and tapped on Hayley's shoulder. Hayley jumped and turn around to see Kaya.
"Kaya, you're ok!" Hayley said.
"I am. How is my dear brother?" Kaya asked pretending that she is not evil.
"I know you are worried about Tommy but we still haven't find the solution," Hayley said.
Kaya smirked evilly as she doesn't need Tommy to know that she is evil even if she is under the space rock control. Hayley didn't like the look on Kaya's face.
"Kaya, this isn't you," Hayley said with worried.
"This is me. Call for any help and you will regret it as you will find out why I am twin sister of the first evil Power Ranger," Kaya hissed.
Before Hayley could talk to Kaya more, Kaya vanished from the Dino Lab.
The next day, Kaya was hiding in the shadow that no one would able to find her. She is watching Hayley and the Power Rangers in the Dino Lab. Kaya smirked and studied the Rangers to realized that each of them has a different personality. Hayley noticed that each Ranger is acting differently from their normal self.
"Ok, there are definitely side effects from you being exposed to the meteor. We need to destroy that rock and get you guys back to normal including Kaya," Hayley determined.
The Rangers were looked confused. Kaya was right about having a different personality due to the side effects.
"Side effects?" Connor frowned at Hayley, "I find that highly improbable."
"Yeah, I feel like I can kick Mesogog's butt myself," Ethan spoken before the alarm went off.
"That's gonna have to wait. Look who's back," Hayley frowned as the monster chased away screaming people.
The Dino Rangers were frowned and dropped what they were doing. Kaya didn't join them but watching from the shadow.
"Ready?" Connor asked.
"Ready!"
Their morpehrs changed and they activated them.
"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP! HA!"
The Rangers morphed and headed out to the fight. Kaya watched from the computer as she glanced at the amber of Tommy. Kaya watched Hayley working on the computer while watching the Rangers fight. Hayley is still trying to find the solution to break Tommy when found out that the space rock does help break Tommy from the amber, so she contacts the Rangers.
When the Rangers walked into the Dino Lab, Hayley sees them.
"Hey guys," Hayley greeted.
"What now? I was having a super intense workout," Ethan irritated.
"And I was right in the middle of a very compelling biography," Connor spoke up.
"Is this gonna involve dirt? 'Cause if it does, I'm gonna have to say 'uh-huh'," Kira asked as a thought came to her mind.
"Sorry I interrupted your busy day. I just thought you might like to know I think I've found a way to unfossilized Dr. Oliver," Hayley snapped, having enough of their snotty attitudes towards her.
"Really?" they asked in hope after wiping their frown off their faces.
"The meteor fragment. My theory is that it frees your inner self. That's why you guys are acting so weird," Hayley told them smiling softly.
"Of course! If you could harness its power, you could free Dr. Oliver from the inside out," Connor exclaimed as the realization hits him, "Although I do take offense at being called weird."
"Sorry. You're not being weird. It's just that the rock is allowing you to show a side of yourself that you don't usually show," Hayley explained with an apologetic smile.
"A recessive personality trait," Connor realized.
"You could say that. Like, Connor, there's a part of you that's intelligent, studious. Ethan, there's a part of you that's athletic, even competitive," Hayley explained.
"So that's why Trent helped us. There's still a part of him that's really good," Kira said.
"Yeah. For Kaya, there's a part of her that shows her evil side," Hayley said.
"Kaya is?!" Ethan exclaimed, "That does explain why she attacked us."
Hayley nodded. Kaya listened to them and dark smirked but didn't come out of her hiding place.
"But what I still don't get it any of this," Ethan shrugged.
"You don't have to," Hayley told Ethan gently, "For now, just pull it together as a team. Trust me."
"That sounds logical," Connor nodded.
"Alright, here's what I need you to do," Hayley began before the alarm went off and the Rangers groaned, "Oh, again?"
Hayley looked at the computer as the monster showed up on the screen.
"First things first," Hayley said as the Rangers drops their things.
"Ready?" Connor asked
"Ready!" the Rangers replied.
"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP! HA!"
The Dino Thunder Rangers left the Dino Lab. Kaya appears behind Hayley but doesn't know that Hayley is prepared this time. Kaya walked to Hayley's shoulder but before she could do that. Hayley turned around holding the device and shoots at Kaya to freeze her.
"I'm prepared this time, Kaya," Hayley said, "You can't hurt me."
Kaya growled at Hayley and glared at her. After the monster was defeated, the Rangers went back to the meteor fragment was. They blasted at the meteor breaking into the shards cause them to go back to normal including Kaya.
"Um... Hayley, can you unfreeze me? And I'm sorry for threatening you," Kaya apologized to Hayley, "Now I know how Tommy felt as evil."
"I forgive you and sure," Hayley said as she used the device to unfreeze Kaya.
Kaya and Hayley saw the Rangers came back from getting the rock.
"I assume you're feeling back to normal?" Hayley smiled, looking a little assumed.
"Thank goodness," Ethan nodded as Kira handed over the fragment.
"I hear that," Connor agreed.
"Yeah. I would never expect to fight you but I now know why my brother felt," Kaya mumbled.
"Hey, since the meteor changed Trent to good, couldn't we use it to fight the effects of the Dino Gem?" Kira asked looking at Hayley.
"That might work, but let's try this first," Hayley inserted the fragment into a machine.
The Rangers went gathered around. All of them held their breaths as they watched Hayley activate the machine and after a moment, the amber began to dissolve. The machine suddenly exploded, making them all jump from it.
"The rock! Kira cried out in horror as she looked at it, "It's fried."
Kaya looked at Tommy and run to hug him. Tommy smiled softly and hugs back. Kaya steps back to watch Tommy ready to demorphed.
"Good job, guys," Tommy said, "Power down!"
Tommy made it to dimorph but nothing happen. The Rangers' smiles were slowly faded as they watch him.
"Brother, this isn't funny," Kaya said.
"I said power down!" Tommy said trying again before gulped, "I think we might have a problem."
Hayley sighed as her work isn't done. Kaya groaned and glared at Tommy's morpher before looked up.
"You got to be freaking kidding me?!" Kaya exclaimed as she threw her hands up in the air.
