Three rogue ninja or just unaffiliated ninja. Couldn't tell, they didn't wear headbands but their chakra was on the charts pretty high. It had to be at least the same level of chakra as Anzu. So three Jonin-level signatures. I'll bear this knowledge in mind.
Anzu seemed to be aware of their strength as well. "Get behind me." She said, as the three ninja appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
"Oi… oi… you killed everyone? How the hell are we supposed to get paid by these idiots now?" The first one approached like some kind of violent Yakuza boss, his arms casually out to his sides. "Well, not that they would've had the money we wanted anyway…"
Anzu lowered her posture, ready to fight.
"Tell you what, you give us your genin and we'll let you go home, sweet ass and thighs and all with your dignity intact… a good trade since you killed one of our tributaries… and if you don't… well that's fine by me." He started laughing creepily, his long snake-like tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. He was a degenerate through and through. The two Jonin level ninja behind him wore disgusting sneers and were both weaker than he was, so between the three of us, we could maybe - yeah no. We were pretty much fucked.
I started charging my most powerful move I had so far. One of them had to hit something. "Chakra Release: 100 Bullets!"
The first one started weaving handsigns. "Earth Release: Wall!" He shouted bluntly.
A wall rose between us and them, and the explosive sound of the chakra bullets shooting forward immediately ripped the wall in half, and when they ripped through one of the Jonin, killing him instantly with a spray of blood the others immediately detected the threat that I was an ran for the trees. Controlling this was hard, but Narumi pressed her back against mine and dug her heels in hard. I tried to lead my shots but they were so damned fast!
Finally the skill ended, and I reached into my pouch for a soldier pill, before crunching it. Absolutely tasted like bitter rotten ass but it was useful. My chakra surged, filling me with energy.
The second Jonin weaved handsigns "Wind Release: Cutter!" Narumi had to pull me out of the way, essentially swapping positions with me as I came into contact with the leader who's Kunai had just been deflected.
"Fire Release: Fire punch!" Narumi shouted. That name was so lame. I winced at how bad it was.
Regardless, the wind jutsu must've been cancelled out and empowered Narumi's Fire punch, because I felt heat wash over me and the sound of an unfamiliar voice screaming.
Back to my fight-
Anzu flickered into existence and slammed her lightning charged fist into the man's face, sending him tumbling to the ground. He was down but not out, and before I could charge a bullet to finish him off, Ryuko took the opportunity to jam a kunai into his throat as he stumbled, struggling to get up as he flushed the lightning chakra out of his system.
The blood spray marked the end of current hostilities. "Good work." Anzu said, and handed us all some corpse sealing scrolls. "Help." She ordered.
We were all soaked through our clothes with sweat and reeked of blood. Disgusting. Anyway, I took some scrolls, and we all got to work sealing them this time. Narumi was still kind of shaken, but she did have the decency to toss a kunai into the back of the on fire man's neck. Killing him instantly.
When that was over, we gave our filled scrolls to Anzu and cleared the caves. There was a lot of loot in these caves, apparently the Samurai Enforcers would be around to seize it and take credit for it all later, so Anzu says.
Strange, how I went from believing we were fucked to just completely mopping the floor with these degenerates.
Anzu patted our heads each a couple times and let out a deep sigh through her mask. "Let's go finish the mission." She said.
Though it was already dark outside, we still made our way through the forests. It took us several more hours, but eventually we came to an encampment of Samurai. Anzu left and went into a tent alone to get debriefed. While we just waited around, trying to rest. Well they did, I was high on a soldier pill and that wouldn't wear off for a little while more.
So I examined the samurai. I honestly expected them to look like Land of Iron samurai, all metal. But their armor was mostly wood and leather. They did however all have long Katanas and some crossbows. A lot of them only wore the bare minimum of a mesh shirt, leather chestpiece and a wooden arm bracer. Only the higher ups donned fancy sets of armor that marked their status. Interesting.
Narumi approached silently. "So what did you think of my Fire punch? Cool right?" She grinned, giddy.
"Yeah. Everything about it except the name. Couldn't you have called it Uzumaki Righteous Delivery or something? You know, because it was your right hand?"
Her smile didn't waver, it just grew wider. "That's cool too, maybe I'll just use that!"
I was joking of course, I didn't expect her to simply find it cool and love the name through and through, it was just something I thought of in the moment.
Ryuko approached from the other side. "But why do you call yours chakra release… it's obviously… just lightning, wind and fire."
…what?
"Wouldn't that make it a Kekkei Tota? Am I actually overpowered?" I asked Ryuko, like she'd know the answer.
"Your chakra level is pretty small… and all you can do is shoot those weak little bullets. So I don't know if I'd call it over powered?" She smirked.
Like hell they're weak… and I'm just getting started! Wait why am I offended, if I'm weak enough maybe I'll just get c-rank missions or maybe even D-rank!
"What I want to know is why we're working on a B-rank mission… shouldn't we have gotten some lower rank missions to get experience first? And if they're all this hard, what would an A-rank even be like?"
Narumi's face said she dreaded the thought. Ryuko's eyes had a bloodthirsty glint to them.
"Actually…" We turned to find Anzu there. "This mission has definitely been upgraded to at least A-rank. So look forward to a bonus… and if when we get back I'm taking you to see the Hokage but for now let's get some shut eye." She jabbed her finger at me.
I gulped. No. Please. Not like this. My fifty percent peaceful life…
