OK for those who are just tuning in for the first time, just some background on previous events, in my Mutant Riots Quartet April and Casey adopt 'Shadow' but in a different manner than in the original Mirage Comics (Since the City of War arc was so butchered for the 2003 cartoon) However since this isn't MNT Gaiden I can't skillfully combine the Mirage and 2k3 Continuities in my 'verse the 2k3 series played as normal up until season 5 (Here Fast Foreward and Back to the Sewer never happened but Turtles Forever did) so I made a 'slightly' more family friendly origin for Shadow, here Gabrielle isn't Casey's first girlfriend but a Female Wolf Mutant, and Shadow isn't her baby but a random Human Baby she pulled from the rubble so who know whose baby she is, anyway Gabrielle decided to preserve this baby ironically after her own cubs were killed by humans but she had just killed several humans herself in the attack on New York so she probably realized 'An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind' even though she was attacked by her fellow Mutants for it, she later died from injuries after being found by April and Casey, anyway figured that would fit as well as the fact the 2k3 Cartoon changed Shredder into an Utrom and changed the nature of his relationship with Karai in the comics she was his boss not his daughter

Quickly enough the remaining Humanimal Children were rounded up, although things became tricky with one Electric Eel Child, the tiny thing was obviously very frightened and would zap anyone who tried to touch him,

So Edward searched through one of the houses and found a tin of sardines, with those sardines he was able to lure the hungry Electric Eel child into the fountain in the village square so he wouldn't risk zapping any of the other children.

Watching Edward feeding the Electric Eel Child sardines reminded Don how hungry he was, he knew the Village Humanimals tried their best but that one cauldron of soup might have well have been like having only a tiny cup of Miso Soup for supper.

That was when April and Casey arrived of course the first thing that noticed was Don's enormous size

"Whoa! Don!" Casey exclaimed "What happened to you?!"

Don blushed "Fossil took us into this cave where apparently this genie like spirit had been banished; absent mindedly I wished I could be the right size to dance with Belladonna and then this happened!"

April and Casey exchanged glances, they had been told that they needed more people to help look after some baby Humanimals so they left Shadow in the care of her babysitter and went over to the lair where Splinter created a Portal to the Village on First Earth, seemed Don specifically left out his change in size or else Splinter surely would have mentioned it.

"It's OK Don…" April soothed "…I'm sure there's a way back."

Don wasn't so sure there was…

So with that, Don, Belladonna, Ichabod, Marzipan and Edward went northward following where the Village Humanimals ran off too they saw there was a new clearing in the forest that hadn't been on the map, someone had recently cut down several trees!

"To dig a pit…" Edward said as he analyzed the ground "…A pit, for the land creatures to fall into, which they quickly filled in…For the flying creatures, they had a net suspended from the trees.

Don scowled imagining this.

"They probably loaded the Humanimals onto floating carts which leave no tracks." Edward sighed "So who knows where they could have gone…"

In a burst of inspiration, Belladonna decided to fly above the canopy to the north she saw a hill rising above the canopy with some kind of building at the peak.

She floated back down and said "I saw a hill with some kind of building at the peak, it seemed militaristic in design in fact it seemed so old fashioned it seemed like an old fashioned hanger for conventional airplanes!"

This seemed to stir something in Edward's memory; he decided to climb a tree so he could see for himself, he climbed so swiftly despite his bulky body that one might think he was a Humanimal himself, it seems to be a fact of life that the Humans were are most attracted to Humanimals, who take Humanimals for romantic partners are extraordinary humans who aren't suited for ordinary life.

When he climbed back down he said "I remember being told about that station, despite its old fashioned appearance, it's actually for spacecraft because Old Earth Airplanes need runways to land and there is no room for runways on that hill, that's most likely their base of operations."

"We can't wait any longer!" Belladonna pleaded "We must begin our journey now! Before they're shipped off world!"

When writing Science Fiction it can be a common problem to forget what tool characters have like I remembered last night the Wranglers have floating carts which would come in handy in the jungle
