A Sleepwalking Soldier: Kyoko's Revenge?!
"Ow!" Kyoko groaned in pain as Mikan bandaged the lump on her head. Makoto meanwhile frowned in concern as he stood by his beloved detective.
"There…jus put some…ice on it…and it should be as…good as new." Mikan instructed as Kyoko stood up and nodded.
"Appreciated, Tsumiki." Kyoko replied before she turned around and stated "Goodbye."
"Ah, Kyoko, wait up!" Makoto called before he turned and bowed to Mikan. "Thanks for your help, Tsumiki-senpai."
He then turned around and ran after his girlfriend, concerned for her well-being.
"I'm telling you, I've never sleepwalked in my life, Kirigiri!"
"Don't lie to me, Ikusaba. I distinctly remember you knocking me out with a frying pan last night while you were sleepwalking."
Makoto arrived to see his girlfriend and Mukuro arguing fiercely, glaring at each other with flames in their eyes.
Luckily, Kyoko broke her glare first and spat "Fine, then. I'll show you indisputable evidence of your crime." She turned and spotted her boyfriend and ordered "Let's go, Makoto."
"Kiri…hey!" Makoto yelped as he felt Kyoko grab him by the wrist and tug him away.
He sighed as he caught just a glimpse of Mukuro's angry glare.
"I'm telling you Makoto, I know what I saw!" Kyoko hissed as they walked through the halls, frustrated that her own boyfriend was skeptical of her claims. "I don't know why the camera footage didn't show it, but I know for a fact that she knocked me out last night!"
Makoto frowned, conflicted as he didn't believe his girlfriend was lying to him, but he also wanted to believe that Mukuro wasn't the kind of person who'd attack Kyoko without provocation.
"Kyoko, I really want to believe you, I really do, but you said yourself it was late at night. Are you sure you didn't just fall asleep and dream about the whole thing?"
"…Forget it, I'll see you later, Makoto." Kyoko sighed as she slipped into her room, closing the door behind her.
Kyoko groaned as she held her forehead in frustration. She walked over to her bed and sat down, her mod soured by her boyfriend's skepticism.
"I understand that he wants to believe in everyone, but why won't he at least believe me?!" Kyoko sighed as she realized "I'm gonna need evidence to change his mind, but I don't have any…what am I gonna do?"
"That was the strangest dream I ever had…" Mukuro pondered, alone in her and Junko's room. "Why on earth would I dream about serving chocolate chip pancakes to Makoto, Junko, and Monokuma of all things? Is it at all connected with why Kirigiri was cleaning up in the kitchen that morning? Though it was satisfying to see Kirigiri have to scrub the floors while I got to eat breakfast with her boyfriend…"
Mukuro smiled, feeling an odd sense of satisfaction from the memory.
"And with Kirigiri acting so strange, she's alienating Makoto and causing him to pay more attention to me!"
Mukuro grinned, deciding to shrug off her confusion in favor of relishing in the joy of having the boy she loved pay more attention to her.
Unbeknownst to her, Junko was listening in curiously through the crack in the door, her lips stretching into a cheshire cat grin as she began to scheme. The Ultimate Fashionista felt the gears turning in her head as she barely held back a giggle.
The now snoozing Mukuro laid on her bed, mumbling unintelligibly as Junko rubbed her forehead, grinning as she whispered in the Ultimate Soldier's ear like a dangeorus serpent tempting the innocent.
"Yes, Muku, you've made Luck Boy truly notice you. His heart is practically yours thanks to you weakening Kirigiri's grasp on him. Congrats, Muku, you're actually winning!"
Mukuro smiled sleepily and muttered "Yes, you'll lose soon enough, Kirigiri…"
"That's right Muku, you'll beat her soon enough, but that siren still has some control over him, and she'll die before she willingly releases it."
Mukuro frowned and muttered "How…Junko? How can…I actually beat her? I want Makoto's love…"
"Oh Muku, there's only one way to win. You need two things: your baking skills, and your Ultimate Talent. Battle Kirigiri for Makoto's love and become his true romantic champion. And don't worry, I'll…"
Junko's sentence ended up being unfinished as Mukuro swung her legs over her side of the bed and stood up. Junko grinned as Mukuro started sleepwalking away, opening the door before she stumbled out into the hallway. Junko cheered to herself as she ran to her closet and pulled out a large grey and blue toy hammer.
*Squeak* It echoed as she gave it an experimental swing.
Alright, time to chase after Muku…hey! She exclaimed to herself before she felt her sleepwalking sister pull her away.
Junko was barely able to grab her spare Monokuma plushie before being dragged into the hallway.
YES! FINALLY MY SISTER SET SOMETHING ON FIRE! Junko mentally exclaimed with joy as the frying pan filled with curry burst into flames.
"…Too much cooking oil…" Mukuro muttered as she hurriedly put out the kitchen fire with a glass of water.
The Ultimate Soldier sighed with relief as she continued cooking the curry, this time without incident. Once the curry was done, Mukuro poured it into three bowls filled with white rice that sat on a tray. Also on said tray were a plate of cookies and an ice cream sundae.
After Mukuro shifted the tray into one hand, she took Junko's wrist and tugged her away, both Despair Sisters unaware of the cooking oil that had dripped onto the nearby paper towels.
Mukuro sleepily walked out of the kitchen, carrying the tray in her hand as she walked through the hallway.
"Chihiro…itai…" Mukuro muttered as she approached Chihiro's door and Junko whacked her on the head with the squeaky hammer.
The Ultimate Despair sister had taken great joy and liberty at whacking her sister/subordinate with the toy hammer whenever she made a mistake, especially since it was just a toy hammer that couldn't possibly hurt Mukuro.
"Wrong door, you baka. We're really doing this again?! Makoto is who you're after!" Junko corrected, only for her eyes to widen in slight surprise as Mukuro shook her head.
"Chihiro…Right door…"
…Right door…?! Junko thought incredulously. Don't tell me…that programming crossdresser actually captured my sister's heart?! It's obviously not as strong as her love for me or Luck Boy, but still!
Mukuro rang the door and waited for a few seconds before he rubbed his fatigued eyelid with his fist.
"Oh…Ikusaba-chan…what is it? It's really late…"
"…Here…I made this for you, Fujisaki-kun…" Mukuro told him sleepily as she handed Chihiro the sundae and cookies.
The boy blushed before smiling wearily as he replied gratefully "Oh, thank you!" He then turned around before waving "Well, I'd better finish this before it melts and go back to bed. Good night, Ikusaba-chan."
Junko sweatdropped as the door closed, baffled by the scene that just played out.
"Well…that happened…" Junko sighed as she directed "Alright, Muku, let's go give your curry to Makoto…on second thought, hold off on that. That siren Kirigiri's been tailing us."
The sleeping Mukuro grimaced as she growled sleepily "…Kirigiri…"
"That's right, Muku. She wants to beat you so you can't have Makoto, but I know you can beat her…with my help, of course." As Mukuro nodded, Junko handed the Monokuma in her other hand and explained "Take this Monokuma. Not only can he shield you from Kirigiri, he'll also become a fluffy mattress in case you fall and bonk you head."
"Hm…thank you, Junko…"
"No worries, that's what I'm here for!" Junko grinned as she took the curry tray and assured Mukuro "I'll bring your special curry while you go handle Kirigiri!"
"…Thank you, Junko…" Mukuro muttered before clenching her fists and turning around. "Here I come, Kirigiri!" She muttered before walking down the hall.
Once Mukuro was out of sight, Junko yawned "Alright…time for bed…nah, I gotta see this!"
"I know I saw Mukuro in here…" Kyoko muttered as she investigated the kitchen. "If I can just catch her in the act, Makoto will believe me and we can put this all behind us…WHAT?!"
Kyoko leapt back, evading Mukuro's punch as the sleepwalking soldier charged at her.
The Ultimate Soldier continued to assault her with a flurry of punches as the detective exclaimed "Ikusaba, why are you doing this?!"
"…I'm the…hero…of this story…" Mukuro muttered, continuing her sleepy assault on Kyoko. "I must free Makoto…from your seductive grasp…for good. So…you must die…Kirigiri…"
Wha…what's going on?! Kyoko wondered as she struggled to block Mukuro's punches. She's definitely sleepwalking…but she still intends to kill me…well…if she's willing to go all-out, then I'll simply return it with equal force!
After narrowly dodging a punch, Kyoko clenched her fist and threw it towards Mukuro's cranium. The detective growled in frustration as she merely held up the Monokuma plushie, shielding herself from Kyoko's counterassault.
Mukuro smirked as she taunted "Heh…you can't beat me, Kirigiri…and you'll never survive the Killing Game…"
"…Killing Game…?" Kyoko wondered What's she talking about? I doubt she's thinking coherently, but I doubt she would have said something like that without thinking at all… "Ikusaba, what do you mean? What's this Killing Game?"
"…I don't take orders from my enemies. All you need to know…is I'll save Junko, Makoto, and Fujisaki from it…"
…This isn't making any sense…I need her to be more coherent or I'm just gonna get more nonsense out of her. Alright, no more playing around, take this!
Kyoko placed all her fury in her next punch, which managed to circle around the plushie and hit Mukuro squarely in the forehead.
"…Itai…" She groaned as she started to sway.
Kyoko finally relaxed when Mukuro at last fell forward, the plushie shielding her face from the hard floor. Kyoko sighed in relief before walking up to Mukuro's prone form.
"Alright, let's see what the damage is…" Kyoko muttered as she knelt next to Mukuro and turned her over.
Kyoko briefly inspected Mukuro's bruised forehead before the injured soldier groaned, rubbing her eye with her fist as her grey orbs weakly opened.
…She's awake…but she's still hazy…still, this is a chance to get some more intel… Kyoko realized before she questioned "Ikusaba, what's going on? What's this Killing Game you were talking about?"
Mukuro groaned and muttered "Tragedy…Hope's Peak…Despair…Execute Headmaster…Erase Memories…Start Killing Game…Sister is the Mastermind…"
Kyoko's eyes widened as she demanded "What are you talking about? I need details, Ikusaba, DETAILS! What's the Tragedy? Why do you want to execute my father? Or erase our memories for that matter? What's this Killing Game? Is Junko really the mastermind?!"
To her disappointment, Mukuro merely groaned and closed her eyes again, falling back to sleep. Before Kyoko could even think about transporting her back to her room, Mukuro got to her feet.
The Ultimate Soldier's hand tightened around the plushie in her hand as she muttered "Makoto…love…Fujisaki…protector…love…hero…"
…It's no good, she's back to sleepwalking again…I guess the only way to get any information out of her is to properly incapacitate and restrain her…
Kyoko cracked her knuckles as Mukuro stumbled over to her and wound back her fist. Kyoko clenched her own fists, analyzing Mukuro's stance as she waited for an opening that would allow her to end the battle.
"I…Impossible…" Kyoko groaned as the surrounding hallways began to fade around her.
Everything faded to black as her consciousness began to leave her. Her knees buckled as her eyes finally closed, causing her to faceplant against the hard floor of the kitchen. Mukuro panted, exhausted by the fight as she relaxed, letting the tension fade form her muscles while she stood over her defeated rival. She raised her fist to deal one final blow, only to feel a slight bonk on her head.
*Squeak*
"Damn! Way to go, Muku! It would have been better if you hadn't mentioned the Killing Game, but I can deal with it. Just make sure you leave Kiri alive; we still need her after all."
Junko grinned at the sight of the bruised and battered Kyoko snoozing on the floor.
"Junko…you were right…I defeated the siren…thanks to the Monokuma you gave me…"
"Glad I could be of service, Muku!" Junko replied cheerfully. "You'll be happy to know that Luck Boy is slurping that curry you made him as we speak." She shifted her gaze to the unconscious detective and mused "Now, about her…" Junko sighed as she knelt down and lifted Kyoko into her arms.
"I'll take her back to her room and treat her bruises. That way her account tomorrow will be much less credible. You go back to our room and rest. That'll give you an alibi tonight…plus you've earned it."
"…Yes, Junko…" Mukuro beamed before she sleepwalked out of the kitchen.
Suddenly, she stopped in front of Makoto's door. Junko watched with interest and slight surprise as Mukuro opened it and crept inside, gently closing the door behind her.
…Well, I guess I can let it slide this one…she has earned it… Junko sighed and stood up with Kyoko in her arms.
"Alright, let's get you back into bed, my sleepy detective…" before walking out of the kitchen and towards the dorms.
