Chapter Four: Kiri!
"There, all set." Kyoko announced as she placed the last of the dishes on the table.
"They look delicious, Mom!" Kiki exclaimed as her mouth watered, causing Kyoko to giggle.
"Yes, I'm sure your father's cooking is delicious. Now we just have to wait for your brother and sister to return with your father…oh, there he is right now." Kyoko replied as she saw Makoto walk in with Koto.
"Alright, we've got Kiki, Moku, and Koto." Makoto counted before he mused "Now we just need Kiri before we can sit down and eat."
Koto suddenly exclaimed "Last I saw her, I think she was playing on the playground in the backyard."
"I see, thank you, Koto." Kyoko nodded before she announced "I'll go and get her then. I shouldn't be gone long."
As Kyoko walked out of the kitchen, Kiki tried to sneakily touch the nearest dish, only for her father to playfully admonish "Nice try, but you know better than to try and sneak a bite before dinner."
Kiki pouted as her two brothers giggled at her faux pas.
Just as Koto said, Kyoko spotted Kiri climbing on the family playground once she stepped in the backyard.
"Kiri!" Kyoko called as she approached the young girl who was humming a tune absentmindedly while reaching for one of the monkey bars.
"Hi Mom!" Kiri greeted as she started to swing back and forth on the bar.
"Kiri, it's time to come in for dinner. Besides, it's starting to get dark."
Kiki merely stuck her tongue out and denied "I'm not hungry right now, I'm having too much fun on the monkey bars."
Kyoko smirked and pinched the bridge of her nose as she tried to think of a way to get her youngest daughter to come inside. Her gaze wandered to the humming girl's bare feet that were suspended in the air as she swung from monkey bar to monkey bar. Kyoko smirked deviously as she shrugged and walked closer to her defiant daughter as she hummed in ignorant bliss.
"Alright, but let's double your fun, shall we?"
Before Kiri could ask what she meant, Kyoko began to spider her fingers underneath Kiri's souls, causing her to burst into giggles.
"Mooohohohohoooommmm! That tiiihihihihihiiiickles!"
As Kiri lightly kicked her feet, Kyoko spidered up to her toes and scratched underneath the pads, smirking and cooing "That's the point. If my daughter's giggling, I know she's having fun. Coochie coochie coo!"
"Noohohohohohoooooo!" Kiri giggled. "Stooohohohohohoooop it or I'll faaahahahahahahaaaallll!"
"And I'll be there to catch you. Now, tickle tickle!"
Kyoko proceeded to tickle Kiri's legs until she was lightly scratching behind Kiri's knees, causing the girl to burst into laughter.
"AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! NOOOHOHOHOHOOOO THAT TIIIHIHIHIHIIICKLESSS! EEEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEE!"
As the tickles racked Kiri's nerves, her grip slipped and she fell into her mother's waiting arms. Kyoko cradled her youngest daughter against her chest with one arm as her free hand slipped under Kiri's shirt and teased the rim of her belly button.
"EEEHEHEHEHEHEEEE! STOHOHOHOP! NOT MY BELLY, PLEEEHEHEHEHEEEASE! I'LL COME IN, I PROOHOHOHOHOOOMISE! JUST NO MOHOHOHORE BELLY TIIIHIHIHIHIICKLESSS!"
Kyoko smirked victoriously as she relented, retracting her hand as she let Kiri catch her breath.
"There, now was that so hard?" Kyoko asked. As Kiri pouted, Kyoko decided to stroke her daughter's hair and murmur a compliment into her ear.
"You know, you have a really nice hum, and you were able to replicate that tune really well."
"R…really?" Kiri asked as she turned her head to look at her mother, blushing from the praise.
"Indeed, you seem to have a talent for music. I didn't know you were interested in it."
"Well…" Kiri flushed as she confessed "I've been wanting to see if I can replicate the tunes that play in the video games Koto and I play."
Kyoko nodded and complimented "Well, you certainly have potential. If you keep training this skill you're developing, you could have quite the career ahead of you as a musician."
"You…you think so, Mom?"
Kyoko nodded and told her daughter as she tapped her nose "I believe in you, Kiri. Just keep practicing and I know you can do whatever you want to." As the two stood up, Kyoko directed "Alright, for now, let's go inside for dinner. You need to keep your strength up, after all."
Kiri giggled before following her mother inside to rejoin her family for dinner.
