JON
After assuring myself that the castle walls still had some guards manning them, I stalked off to the Gods' Wood. Sitting by the hot spring, I began my meditation to pull myself back from the Dark Side. This was more difficult than it should be because the castle was surrounded by tens of thousands of magically powered droids made out of human corpses. All that magic made it more difficult to pull back. Once I had managed to achieve balance in the Force, ghost padded in to sit at my feet. In the Force I could feel at a low level everything was going on in a wide area. The presence of so many magical beings made the non-magical beings stand out. I could feel what was going on elsewhere as the survivors were celebrating and trying to reaffirm that they were still living. I didn't have anyone to do that with. Even if Shireen were here with me, she's far too young for me to do that with. I called upon the Jedi meditation techniques I knew to suppress those urges.
The Dead were still out there. This was just a temporary lull. They would attack again.
TORMUND
The party after the battle got a little our of hand. Some of the Free Folk showed just why the Southerners call us: Wildlings.
I think Brienne was uncomfortable with it and after future battles, she would drag me into a closet she'd found, so she could quickly show me how glad she was to be alive, then volunteer us for guard duty, so that when we finally went to bed most of the others sleeping it off in the Great Hall were actually asleep.

I shouldn't have kept casting past the point of magical exhaustion. I nearly passed out. Bran had to be helped to walk. The cooks had all been sent to Harrenhal weeks ago. But at least the wine was good. At the after Party I drank too much and did things I shouldn't.
This became a pattern for me and many others. Confronting death on that level, with an army of inferi, walking dead men trying to kill us all, did massive psychological damage to those of us who survived. We'd drink to forget, then act out, to show ourselves that we were still amongst the living.
The next attack came a few days later. When it did, I thought since Jon's Force lightning worked against them I would try the same. Big Mistake!
When I hit the wights with real lightning, they became stronger! Strong enough to damage the walls. The might have broken through if Jon had not come to our rescue. His use of the Force might look like lightning, but it instantly dropped them like puppets with their strings cut. After that, we mostly used spells that did physical harm as the fire ones were being quenched more quickly, each time we used them.
TRYSTANE
When the battle ended, Arya drug me straight back to our room. Facing death on such a scale made her want me and I felt the same. After that night, Edric used his magic to enlarge both the room and the bed.

Once the people of King's Landing had become accustomed to the new standardized law code, I began the task of setting up a series of independent judges whom I taught how to conduct trials and and not to sit in judgement on cases in which they had a stake. I also began the practice of having guilt or innocence determined by a jury of their peers, randomly selected from amongst the population. I had thought instituting these changes would decrease my work load as Master of Laws. But in fact, in actually increased the number of tasks on my plate. As test, this independent Judiciary was initiated in Fleabottom and gradually spread to the rest of the City.

After that first battle, and the resulting victory party, at the next 'Noon' meal, I declared that everyone who had fought against the Army of the Dead had earned a Knighthood. I then, lined up all the knights so that everyone could come forward and formally receive the title. Some of the Wildlings refused the honor and I thought Tormund would be amongst them. But to my great surprise, he walked up, along side his new wife and they were both knighted at the same time, him by Ser Edric and his wife, by me. This mass knighting gave a little boost to morale and in the next battle inspired them to fight all the harder. But some thought it had de-valued the institution of Knighthood. I also conferred the title 'Giantsbane' on the people who had felled a giant wight. This was Lyanna Mormont, my sister: Arya Martell, Bran, Margaery Tully and Tormund the Wildling.
We needed that morale boost, because every few days, the Others would attack again! The trenches, both the old one and the new one, barely slowed the wights at all and the stakes appeared to do little unless they were made from weirwood. The Wight Walkers showed us numerous times that any fallen wight or destroyed Wight Walker would just be revived by them. Even the partially burned ones would re-animate and resume the attack. The only ones that didn't re-animate were the ones that had been burned up completely, the ones I had taken down by Force Lightning, and the ones that had fallen when Margaery made a weirwood tree grow through them. But even those, the other wights would just knock down and trample underfoot.
A couple of weeks after the first battle, I judged Robb's wife, Dacy recovered enough to join us in guarding Winterfell.
MARGAERY
When the first battle ended, Bran was so exhausted from overuse of magic that he had to be helped to walk into the Great Hall. Edric was not much better, but managed to help me get Bran seated at a table. The cooks had all been sent away to Harrenhal. So the food was barely adequate. They still had wine though. And after going through an experience like that, we drank like fishes. Once they had a little food and wine in them, the men perked up. Even as uninhibited as I am, I was still shocked when the Wildlings started
Lord Robb did nothing to reign them in and simply escorted his wife, Dacy, out of the Great Hall.
"I think we need to go back to our room!" I told them, before offering a hand to first Bran, then Edric to help them off the bench. We had not bothered to sit at the high table when we first entered.
With the sun never rising anymore, we had gotten used to the darkness and our eyes had accommodated. No one looked directly at a roaring fire if they could help it, because you would be blind for a few minutes afterward. But even though our room had a window, it was too dark to see anything.
The wights continued to attack every several days. There were several close calls where they almost breached the castle walls. But none of them came as close as that first time, with the giant wights. After about six weeks of this, during a battle in which Ygrette was giving birth to her baby, I got distracted when Bran overdid it with his casting. When he fell to one knee and I turned to look at him, a wight snatched me off the castle wall and I fell on the wights outside the walls. I screamed when I landed and I'm pretty sure I broke my spine when I hit. I couldn't feel my legs and didn't feel it when they ripped my left leg off at the hip. I was screaming continuously as the wights were peeling the skin off me! But my screams stopped as they ripped my right arm off at the shoulder. From the time I landed until I died only took seconds, but it seemed like longer!

"Margaery!" screamed Bran, when he saw his wife go over the side. even though he was so weak he had fallen to one knee, he still kept casting. "Acio! Acio!"
"Bran, stop! if you pass out the wights will kill you," I told him. "Margaery wouldn't want you to die this way! I'll get her!
I pointed my wand off the wall and yelled out: "Acio Maxima Margaery!"
When she rose up and over the castle wall, she was covered in wights that were still ripping her apart. her left leg and right arm were missing and her back was bend at an unnatural angle. Instead of blood, the fluid coming out of her wounds looked more like tree sap. I fought to destroy the wights I'd brought up here using my obsidian tipped spear in one hand and using my wand to banish them in the other. Bran helped me using his spear and when we destroyed the last one, Bran fell on her corpse crying.
"Bran, we don't have time for that!" I yelled. "Keep fighting!"
As soon as he was off her, I burned the body so they couldn't bring her back. As soon as I did, Bran slugged me!
"What did you do that for!?" screamed Bran.
JOFFREY
The Masters kept raising their arms every few miles and new recruits to our Army would rise out of the ground to join us. When we encountered a village, I stabbed and stabbed with my dagger until every living man woman or child in the village was dead. But when we approached the castle, someone on top was shooting jets of flame at us like I might expect from the mouth of a dragon. I had not been hit and had gotten close enough to almost recognize the woman doing this to us. It looked a little like that Lady Stark I had met when I was a child and visited Winterfell. I hope it's her! I would really like to kill her! But she stopped blasting fire at us when we started walking across the frozen river. A short time later, the drawbridge of the castle across the river came down and a bunch of horsemen came riding out of the castle, led by Lady Stark riding on the back of an enormous wolf! Has she gotten fat since I last saw her? It doesn't matter. After we kill everyone in these two castles, we'll go catch them.
