In Pieces

Disclaimers I don't own Naruto or RWBY or LINKIN PARK, please support any to all official releases.

Deciding that the fastest way and cost effective way to get back home was by taking the Grey Hound, and literally just pay a delivery service to send in what little belongings he has back home, Naruto instead focused his time on how to get rid of Ruby's problem.

Fortunately for him, Apple had released their newest iPhones with built in voice and video recording, so it was a matter of laying the bait and catching Cinder in the act.

Deciding their best bet was to be at SoHo where they first met, Naruto didn't need to wait long before Cinder came and did her shake down material on Ruby.

Granted Naruto may have been confrontational and got a baton stick to the gut in the process, but he was able to get Cinder to confess her crimes before Naruto made his way to the NYPD.

A week later their was a short court hearing where it was unanimous that the jurors favored Ruby, and the Judge had not only sentence that Cinder be stripped of her title of an officer, but also that she were to spend a nickel in the big house, plus she was to payback when she had owed Ruby and then some.

With it all being set in stone and motion, Naruto and Ruby both felt relieved that the court had ended in their favor.

However Ruby wasn't out of the woods yet, since word of Cinder's crime had reached Ruby's parents, who were patiently waiting for her outside the courthouse.

An awkward confrontation for sure, but one Ruby had to face alone, but not entirely.

It's been a few days since Naruto last scene Ruby, and he's been waiting for her patiently with a gift in hand as they had promised to meet here back at SoHo for the last time.

Sitting at the bench, Naruto was listening to his music in peace, before he spotted Ruby from across the street as she waved at him.

"Hey you, long time no see" greeted Ruby, "Yeah, so how are things between you and your parents" asked Naruto.

"Honestly not as bad as I expected, I mean they weren't really mad, just more than anything happy to see that I'm alive and well for the most part" said Ruby.

"Huh, guess it proves to show you that your parents do care about you" said Naruto as he was rather impressed over the outcome, "Yeah, I thought they'd be laying down some heavy rules and trying to tell me to do with my life, but they didn't" said Ruby as the feeling was oddly enough bittersweet.

"Is that honestly true" asked Naruto as he raised a brow, "Well they did mention about me trying to at least finish and get my GED before I go off and live my life" said Ruby.

"Ah, well I can't say I disagree with them there" said Naruto as him telling Ruby that they don't need no education would not only be hypocritical, but pretty sure he'd be in a nagging of a life time from his mom.

"So what about you, I know you're gonna be leaving…" trailed off Ruby as she notice that all of Naruto's belongings have been packed and put away with boxes stacked neatly in the corner where his TV was at.

"Tomorrow" said Naruto as Ruby went wide eye over hearing the news, "Oh wow, I was not expecting to hear that" said Ruby.

"Yeah sorry that doesn't give us a lot of time to go all out and eat somewhere fancy now, but it does give you, give us some time alone and make a really tough choice" said Naruto as he dig through his jacket and pulled out 2 Grey Hound tickets to California.

"I think I distinctly remembered the first time we met that you had dreams of making it big out in Hollywood with your music and Hollywood just so happens not to be that far from where I'm from, so what do you say Ruby, want to start our new lives together in the city of angels" asked Naruto.

Never being the one to be put on the spot like this before, Ruby was left speechless and was even blushing a little over the sudden offer and what she could assume to be a confession of some kind.

"Naruto I don't know what to say" said Ruby as she was genuinely honest about it and not ripping that line off from like a movie.

"Ruby, I know we just met and this seems super last minute, but please, won't you consider going to California with me" said Naruto as Ruby had given a look she had not seen in a long time.

"Um… this is…wow" said Ruby before she felt the hands of the man who was absolutely smitten with her, "I'm not gonna force you into anything, so please let's take the night to enjoy each other's company and give you time to think" said Naruto with a warm smile.

Normally Ruby would be expecting to be forced into something she wouldn't consent to, a situation she has been in a few times, but with Naruto she could feel there was this earnest feeling of sincerity in not only his words, but in his actions.

"Yeah, I'll probably have things figured out come the morning" said Ruby hesitantly as she was enveloped in the man's warm embrace, which seem to have caused her feel more pain given the expression she has on.

But instead, she decided to enjoy the company of the man who actually did her a favor in getting her life back on and wanted his final night to be a happy one, before he had to leave tomorrow.

The Next Day

Having a night of watching movies and eating pizza, when they had came back to his flat, Ruby had taken initiative and lead Naruto to his room and did what many impulsive young lovers do alone.

However when morning had come, Naruto was woken up by his alarm clock and a note next to the spot Ruby had laid to him that night.

Picking it up, Naruto began to read it and felt the spare ticket behind the letter as he could already tell what was Ruby's answer before reading it.

'To Naruto, I'm sorry that I can't go with you to L.A. right now, cause I know myself it's my dream to get there and it is but I want to get there on my own. I'm also sorry that you've had fallen in love with me, a girl with her heads in the clouds with big dreams, but on the ground she's a nobody with nothing to her life other than her bass and her appearance. Frankly speaking you're to good for me, and I do mean it, you're a responsible adult who could probably find himself a new job in no time at all, and probably an even better girlfriend, while I'm a hustler full time until I become a rock star. Maybe one day we'll see each other in the City of Angels and if you still have feelings for me than, maybe we can give our relationship a proper chance. Until than safe travels, xoxo Ruby Rose'.

Even though Naruto was half expecting this, it still hurt him as he began to wipe his tears away and look vacantly at his things.

Damn, this fucking sucks, thought Naruto as he sat there in sadness for a few minutes, before getting dressed and grabbing a back pack filled with but small things to keep him entertained for the bus ride back home.

Eventually he made it to the Grey Hound and got on board and sat alone in the vacant seat next to him as he looked outside his window with his earbuds on and listened to his music in peace.

When the bus finally made it's departure, he left SoHo and New York as a whole behind him as but a bad chapter in his life, well not entirely.

Yes he never did got to properly date Ruby, and she did reject him, but he could at least say he didn't leave with this relationship in pieces like a lot of people before him.

However unknown to Naruto, Ruby didn't have it easy herself, as she was now left alone, alone with all her regrets and the secrets she had not only kept from the blonde, but from everyone.

Her regrets of not finishing up school or having the bravery to stuck around with what little friends she had, form a band or at the very least reunite with them in hopes that they could form their own group.

While she had revealed her secrets of being homeless and hinting out to her own substance use, she never told exactly what she did, which was closely on the lines of opium and drinking under the age.

This and the fact she has had a few promiscuous relationships here and there, where Ruby had not only been in a few abusive, but ones where they had fallen for her madly like Naruto as well, with promises of providing for her so long as they remained together just never sat right for her in the long run in the grand scheme of things.

Looking out her window with tears running down her face, Ruby could say that at least with Naruto, he did the impossible in getting her to fall in love with him a secret and regret she's gonna have to keep either alone for the rest of her life or until she gets it together.

We got one more chapter after this guys, so I hope you guys are excited to read that whenever I publish it next, as much as you guys were reading this.

Also I should probably mention that drugs are bad, like seriously doesn't matter if you got in the back alley or out of somebody's tinted window car with his buddy next to him, the doctor from the clinic gave you a legal prescription or you got this over the counter of your local grocery store, or hell some self proclaimed shaman or medicine woman from the Amazon who gave you 'natures medicine' and calls it by the local name ayahuasca, cause in reality you're still going on a fucking acid trip, you're gonna feel numb, the pain will go away, but once the ride ends you'll be addicted and dependent on that shit as if it was fucking water.

Now with that drug PSA out the way, be safe, be good people, and please support your local fandom communities until next time people.
