Hermes glared at the door when someone knocked on it. He knew it wasn't Kelly since she had a key. She was out grocery shopping and he wanted nothing more than to enjoy the solitude. He stayed quiet, but the person knocked again. He could hear voices outside. Hermes grabbed his shotgun and made his way over to the door. There was a third knock.
"Hermes, please open the door. We know you're in there," Wu called.
Hermes groaned in annoyance. He cracked the door open and stuck the tip of the gun out.
"Put the gun away," Wu said.
"What are you doing here?" Hermes opened the door up all the way. Lloyd was next to Wu on the porch
"We just want to talk," Lloyd said.
Hermes glared at Lloyd.
"Can we come in?" Cole called.
Hermes noticed the other five ninja in his yard for the first time. He stared at them for a moment before he realized they weren't the alternates from the other world.
"When did they get back?" Hermes asked.
"Yesterday afternoon," Wu said.
"And the imposters?"
"Misako is making sure they finish a training exercise."
Hermes motioned for everyone to get inside. He looked around before he closed the door.
"Krux and Acronix will no longer be a problem," Wu said as he sat down on the couch.
"Oh?"
"They will live out the rest of their days in the First Realm under the watchful eye of Firstbourne."
"Does anyone know what that means?"
"A giant dragon took them to another world," Cole said.
"Ah. Out of my chair, Sparky." He pushed Kai out of his chair and put the gun back on the gun rack next to him.
"Is Kelly here?" Kai asked, looking around for another place to sit.
"No. What do you want?" Hermes said.
"Lloyd says you have the Time Blades," Cole said.
"Get out."
"Hermes," Lloyd said.
"I said get out!"
"Hermes, be reasonable," Wu said.
"I am being reasonable. Out!"
Everyone sighed as they got up and walked out the door.
"Not you." Hermes grabbed Cole's arm and pulled him back inside. Once everyone was outside, Hermes closed and locked the door. He then closed all of the curtains in the front of the house. The others knocked on the door, but Hermes ignored them. Cole stood in the living room and watched.
"I want to trust you, but you were raised by Burtchenellis."
"And I want to trust you, but you're acting like a crazy person."
Hermes shook his head and started to move the couch, but stopped.
"What?"
"Krux and Acronix are really gone? They're never coming back?"
"Not unless Firstbourne changes her mind." Cole crossed his arms.
Hermes shrugged and carefully moved the couch. He then removed the rug that was under the couch.
"Those two idiots didn't know just how close they were," Hermes said as he carefully removed some of the floorboards.
Cole watched as Hermes removed enough floorboards to reveal a hidey-hole. He then reached in and pulled out a Time Blade.
"How did you get those?" Cole asked.
"Long story. They knew, they had a tracker and knew the Time Blades were here. They just couldn't find them. If only they knew what they were sitting on when I had them tied up." Hermes took out all four Time Blades and put them in a sack before he put the floorboards back along with the rug and couch.
"Do not tell Kelly what you saw," Hermes said.
Cole reached for the Time Blades, but Hermes snatched them away.
"So what was the point of showing those to me?" Cole asked.
"So you can tell Wu that I destroyed them."
"Destroyed them?"
"Yes. I'm going up to Torchfire Mountain and I'm tossing these in. Then I can hopefully live out the rest of my retirement in peace."
"No, we need to tell Wu-"
"You're not telling him anything!" Hermes yelled.
"I can't lie to him, not about this."
"I'm not asking you to lie, I'm asking you to stall."
"Stall?"
"You do know what stalling is, right?"
"Yeah, but-"
"Then stall him! I can't trust Wu. That ship sailed a long time ago. And if you're not going to help me then get out and I'll find another way to destroy them."
"What did he do to you to make you hate him so much?"
"He didn't stop Garmadon. Now, are you going to help me or not?"
"Tell me how you got these and maybe I'll help."
Kelly hummed to herself as she rocked in the rocking chair on the front porch. She was in the middle of a row of knitting when a vortex opened up in the sky. A moment later, four objects crashed onto the yard. A cosmic boom of temporal energy erupted from the objects, knocking over the lawn gnomes and plastic flamingos that littered the yard.
"Hermes, the universe dumped garbage in our yard again!" Kelly called.
Hermes opened the front door and looked out. He slowly approached the Time Blades and plucked one out of the ground to examine it. He pointed the blade at a gnome. The gnome went back in time until it was upright again.
"How…?" Hermes bent down and looked at the four blades again.
"Herm, be a dear and pick up all my gnomes?" Kelly asked.
"Can I put them in the garbage bin?"
"Why do you hate them so much?"
"Because they're tacky and stupid and they make kids think our yard is a dump." Hermes picked up the four Time Blades and took them inside, kicking some gnomes across the yard on his way.
