Chapter 9: Twisted

Olivia spent the afternoon with Barba in the cabin. Although she wasn't at work she still had paperwork to do. Barba was doing some freelance cases that needed his attention too. Elliot and Monique took the twins outside to go sledding. There was a small hill nearby that was perfect for the young boy's age.

It wasn't long before the four of them returned and Elliot cooked dinner. Despite being winter he grilled some steaks on the outdoor grill.

After dinner the boys asked if they could play some board games to which the adults all agreed.

Olivia and Barba had been drinking wine throughout dinner and Monique topped them both up as the kids searched for a game for them to play. Monique grabbed another couple beers for herself and Elliot.

Olivia groaned when she saw the game her son had picked out, she wasn't thirty anymore after all. However his beaming smile and the fact he had never played before had her accepting her fate for that evening.

"Alright why don't we split into teams?" Barba suggested. "Stabler, Oliver and I vs the ladies and Noah?"

Olivia quirked an eyebrow at him, she knew full well why Barba wanted to be on Elliot's team. However as long as she didn't have to be, she was happy.

Overall it wasn't a horrible experience, and the unlimited wine definitely helped her make it through round after round of twister.

Barba was currently spinning the pointer but he couldn't help noticing how Elliot's eyes were glued to the wrong woman on the map. Shouldn't he be checking out his own girlfriend, and not Olivia?

She wasn't even wearing anything provocative, just a thin blue cashmere sweater and some black skinny jeans. She had ditched her socks in the beginning, ever the competitor, so her red painted toe nailed feet could grip the mat better. Her shirt had rode up, leaving a bronze slice of skin on display between her jeans and sweater. It was this part of skin that currently held all her ex partner's attention. Barba couldn't blame the man. He knew Olivia was an above average beautiful woman, and her personality even eclipsed her looks. He knew she had filled out more in the last few years, but in his opinion it was in all the right places. Her thighs and hips were fuller, not to mention the number of people he had caught looking at her firm ass. He wagered that when Stabler and Benson were partners they probably had the best pair of butts in the nypd.

Barba spun the pointer again and watched Elliot chug the rest of his beer as it put Olivia in a downward dog position, putting the butt Barba was just thinking about on a prominent display. Elliot was staring right at it as Monique and Noah broke down laughing when they fell.

Olivia laughed and kissed Noah's forehead. He yawned quietly, causing Olivia to suggest the boy's call it a night.

Once again Monique refilled everybody's drinks as the kids got ready for bed. Olivia and Elliot entered their room to say goodnight. Elliot hopped up on Oliver's bed, who was residing on the top bunk.

"You are mine right?" Elliot joked, poking him in his ribs.

Oliver laughed and moved away from his father's tickling fingers, "Yes," he giggled.

Olivia sat down beside her son on the bottom bunk, "Did you have a good day my sweet boy?"

Noah nodded, "I know I got to fly on a plane when we went to Paris with Tucker but this has been a really fun vacation so far too."

Olivia groaned when she heard Elliot pause while talking to his son. He had obviously just heard what Noah said, and there was no denying what 'Tucker' her son was referring to.

Olivia smiled warmly at Noah, "Get some sleep, you know which room I'm in if you need me."

"Love you Mom," Noah sighed, snuggling into his bed.

"Goodnight Oliver," Olivia called as she walked to the door.

"Night Livia," Oliver replied happily, "I'm glad you came here with us."

Olivia met Barba and Monique out in the living area talking to one another. She took a quick swig of her wine and sat beside Barba on the couch.

"Everything okay?" Barba inquired, rubbing his hand up and down her thigh.

"Mmhm, they're all set," Olivia claimed. She was feeling pretty tipsy at this point in the evening and wasn't sure if her and Barba should call it a night too or not.

Her thoughts were interrupted as Elliot came back into the room. He made a beeline for the kitchen. "Barba you want anything stronger?" he asked as he poured himself a scotch.

Barba glanced between the two ex partner's, sensing a sudden tension, "Sure…" he trailed off.

"One more round?" Monique suggested, "Losers cook breakfast?" she proposed.

Barba and Olivia chuckled, "Deal," they both agreed.

Olivia and Monique went first, Olivia showed how flexible she was even in jeans at her age, easily winning the round after 21 moves. If neither Barba or Elliot could beat that, they would be getting up to cook breakfast.

Feeling loose Barba grabbed Olivia by her hips as they switched places, pecking her on her cheek and neck. She heard Elliot mutter under his breath and she was sure it was nothing good as he groused, "Come on are we going to play or not?"

Olivia chuckled as she took the spinner from the side table, "You in a rush to lose Stabler?" she joked as Barba patted her hip affectionately.

Elliot rolled his eyes, "You're not even competition Olivia, I could've put you in much harder positions."

Olivia quirked an eyebrow as she sat down beside a giggling Monique, who was clearly close to drunk too. "Oh I'm sure you could have had me in many different positions, too late though."

The double meaning wasn't lost on anybody in the room as the men took their positions. Olivia controlled the spinner and called out colors and body parts.

Monique sat beside her but sighed loudly as Olivia spun and put the men in more difficult positions.

Polishing off her beer she said, "It's so weird seeing the boys together."

Everyone in the room agreed as Olivia spun again.

She noticed Barba constantly checking out Elliot's assets throughout the evening, he wasn't even hiding it well.

They were getting close to her mark when Barba fell down leaving Elliot alone.

"You know what's really freaky is, if people didn't know they were adopted they would totally assume they were biologically yours and Elliot's children," Monique pressed on.

Barba choked while drinking his scotch, and Olivia scoffed. Elliot lost his concentration and fell just one move short from Olivia's score.

"That would be a nightmare," Olivia huffed.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Elliot asked angrily from the floor.

Barba saw Olivia open her mouth to argue so he interrupted her, "I think she just means that the two of you both have very strong personalities, it'd be a lot in a tiny human."

"People assume I gave birth to Noah all the time, we look alike, I don't know where you see Stabler in him though," Olivia pointed out stubbornly, crossing her arms under her breasts.

Elliot narrowed his eyes at her as Monique spoke up again. "Well they have your hair, nose and mouth, Elliot's eyes and complexion. It's actually a little scary how much they look like your biological children…" she explained sadly.

Monique hopped up off the couch, "I'm going to bed, night guys, sleep well," she called as she fled the room.

Elliot sighed and rubbed his hand down his face, he got up too, and told the other pair on the couch to leave everything, he'd clean up in the morning when they got up to make breakfast.

"Well, that was…weird," Barba observed as he watched Elliot chase after his girlfriend, who was obviously feeling insecure.

Olivia nodded, "Let's just go to bed, I don't know what she was talking about."

Olivia wasn't sure why it bothered her but she found herself even more angry at what Monique had said. Was it because she had at one point dreamed about what a child between her and Elliot would look and act like? Olivia shook her head, that was just a weird dream she had one time when they were partners, and he was separated from his then wife. It meant nothing.

As Olivia and Barba came to a stop outside their door Olivia sensed movement and clocked Elliot coming out of his bedroom. Before she could think things through she grabbed Barba by both sides of his head and pulled him into a hard firm kiss.

Barba clung to her hips as she sucked on his bottom lip. Olivia opened her eyes to see her ex partner staring at her in shock, and she was suddenly hit with an an overwhelming sense of déjà vu, except she wasn't kissing her friend Barba, she was in a forensic lab kissing Dale Stuckey.

Olivia stared back at Elliot as she deepened the kiss with Barba, sliding her tongue along his thin lips.

He played the part perfectly as he moaned at the contact. Olivia broke the kiss and whispered huskily, "Let's go to bed," loud enough for a stupefied Elliot to hear.

She gave him one last heated look as she closed her bedroom door.

Olivia leaned back against it as Barba blushed and sat on their bed.

"Wow," he mumbled.

"I'm sorry," Olivia sighed heavily moving to sit beside him.

Barba shrugged, "No it's just…you definitely reminded me why I like women. Shit Olivia, I don't know what you were trying to prove but you are one hell of a kisser."

Olivia chuckled lightly, "Thank you?"

Barba nodded and leaned back on his hands, "I take it he was watching that little exchange?"

"Yes," Olivia supplied. "I don't even know why I did it," she grumbled as she wiped her hands over her face.

Barba just nodded again. He knew why she did it. To make Elliot jealous. But it was the reason why she wanted to make Elliot jealous, that she wasn't ready to hear yet. Or talk about that night. Especially when all the adults were quite intoxicated.

Barba sat up and rubbed her shoulders. "Don't sweat it. Let's just go to sleep and hopefully tomorrow will be even better okay?"

"Thank you for being here," Olivia turned towards him, enveloping him in a warm hug. "I wouldn't be able to survive this weekend without you. Thank you for being my friend," she whispered.

"You never have to thank me for that Olivia," Barba smiled happily, returning the hug.

A/N: Next up Friday at the cabin, Elliot is suppose to make his decision about moving to California. All mistakes mine. Thank you for all the kudos, and comments. They're very encouraging.
