Chapter 2
The Child that lived
On a windy September 30th , in Little Hangleton at the Riddle's house, Peter, who was the Potter's secret keeper became a death eater and told the dark lord where the Potters where at.
"My lord. I know where the Potter's live. They made me their secret keeper. They live in Godric's Hollow. No one else knows that I know of." Peter said in his rat like voice.
"Thanksss, my ssservent for that wonderful newsss." Voldemort said in his snake voice.
Voldemort dismiss the rat man with a wave of his hand. The other death eaters could see a very evil look on their lord's face and was wondering what it was about. Voldemort called the rat man back to him and push the sleeve of the robe up. Then he places his wand on the dark mark to call all followers to him. When all of them was there. Voldemort told all of them that by this time next month, the child from the prophecy will be gone along with all who was against him.
Cheers when all around the room along with evil laughs. Voldemort wave his hand and the room quiet down because all feared him.
In is snake like voice Voldemort said, "In a monthssss time I will have control of the Wizardly World.
The month of October when by fast for the Potters, who did not know their time was near. Lizzy has been very sad. On October 29th Lily talked to James of giving Lizzy the two-way mirror so that Lizzy could at least see and hear from Sirius.
James said in a voice that sounded tried, "I think that a great idea, Hun. Maybe Lizzy will come down some and will say something other than "Doggy, Doggy", all the time. So, the next day using the two-way mirror that they did have. They called Sirius up.
"Hey Padfoot. Will you call tomorrow around Lizzy's bedtime so that she may see you and go to bed easily for us. All month all she wants is HER 'doggy'." Said James.
Sirius 'Padfoot' said, "Sure thing Prongs."
Lily just walk away saying under her breath, "You guys and your nicknames."
At eight o'clock that was Lizzy's bedtime. Lily had her all ready when James walk in with a smile on his face. He looked down at his beautiful daughter and said, "Now angel I want you to go to bed ok."
Lizzy looked up at her da and just smiled at him in her cute sweet way.
"James just show her and then maybe she will go to sleep after." Lily said.
"Oh fine. Sirius it's all up to you now. Good luck." James told his school friend.
James then showed Lizzy the mirror who let out a very happy sound.
"Doggy, Doggy, miss you." Lizzy said to Sirius delight.
"I miss you to sweetheart." Sirius told his goddaughter.
James left the room with a smile on his face. Has James headed for the stairs to go down, there was a loud bang as the front door was thrown open by the dark lord who walked right on in.
James saw who it was and yelled up the hall way, "Lily, take Lizzy and run. He here. Run."
James yelled that last part as Voldemort used the killing curse on him.
Lily didn't have much time left. She told Sirius that Voldemort found them and that if James and herself didn't make it to make sure the Lizzy didn't go to her sister's house.
Lily said very quickly, "Sirius, you are Lizzy's godfather and I want you to raise her. Whatever you do don't let anyone takes her to my sister's. She hates everything to do with me. I am going to do a wandless spell that will turn this mirror in to my will that way no one can take Lizzy from you. Don't go after Peter, Sirius. I have a feeling that if you did something will happen and Lizzy will be put with my sister and I don't want that to happen."
After Lily did the spell she made another one that made this side of the mirror just that a mirror, but the mirror Sirius had, he still could see and hear everything. He put a spell on the mirror himself as Lily was taking so that he could play it back for the other members of the Order.
As he watched Voldemort walk in to Lizzy's room and said in his snake voice, "Out of the way you ssstupid mudblood."
"No, no, not my baby. Please not her." Begged Lily.
Lily moved in front of her daughter and said in a sad voice, "Mommy loves you honey."
As Sirius watched he seen Lily's lip moved in a voiceless and wandless spell. As she was doing this Voldemort used the killing curse on her and then he turned to little Lizzy who was now standing in her bed crying out for her mommy.
Voldemort said, "Ssssso thisss isssssssss the one who will defeat me. I think not."
As Voldemort raise his wand he had the evilest of smiles on it. He did the killing curse instead of it killing Lizzy it backfires on him and hit him instead making him disappear. What Voldemort fell to see was there was a two-way mirror in front of Lizzy, so the curse never hit little Lizzy. Part of Voldemort's soul got stuck in the mirror when the spell backfired on him and the mirror was destroyed.
Sirius wasted no time to apparated to where the Potter's secret location was at. As he ran inside, he saw his best friend dead on the steps. "Oh, James, I am so sorry." He though as he headed to Lizzy's room where he could hear her screaming up a storm for her mum and da.
As Sirius walked in Lizzy's room he seen Lily laying on the floor in front of Lizzy crib where the little girl was standing looking down with tears just rolling down her cheeks.
"There, There, sweetie, Uncle Sirius is here." Sirius said in a nice calm voice as he went to Lizzy and picked her up. "Let's get you out of here, huh.
As he left her room he put her face against his neck so that see didn't see her dad dead. It was bad as it was that she seen her mum murdered before her.
By the time that Sirius left what was left of the Potter's home Hagrid showed up.
"Sirius, what happened? James? Lily? Please no, not little Lizzy? Hagrid ask in a sad voice.
Sirius let out the air and said in a very sad voice, "Sorry Hagrid, but both James and Lily are gone. James is on the stairs and Lily was in Lizzy's room. Lizzy's is fine but a small scar on her forehead that is like a lighting blot. Let's go back to my place and call Dumbledore there to let him know. We might need a meeting of the order too. Before they left Sirius sent out his Patronus that was a dog to Dumbledore with this message,
"James and Lily dead. Found their child is fund but for a scar on 'his' little forehead. and me at my place number 12 Grimmauld Place. Need to call a meeting of the order."
Sirius called the Knight Bus for Lizzy and him and give his bike to Hagrid with on of Lizzy's suffy animals that he made look like her as a boy that way Albus though that it was James and Lily's son since that is what Albus that the Potters had . Sirius didn't want to appeared with little Lizzy.
Meanwhile outside of number four Privet Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey, there was a cat with very strange makings on her. For the cat was not like any others around in fact, the cat was a witch who was a Animagus.
Albus Dumbledore arrived around midnight when all the muggles were asleep. He pulled out his Put-Outer that pulled all the lights that was around number four till there was just two tiny lights in the distance.
With a chuckle in his voice, Dumbledore said, "I should have known you will be here Professor McGonagall."
With that said the cat turned in to a witch that was in a green robe and hat with glasses that was the same makings on the cat.
"How did you know it was me, Albus?" asked McGonagall.
"My dear, I have never seen a cat sit so straight or stiffly."
"While you will be stiff too if you been sitting on a brick wall all day." McGonagall in a low under tune voice.
Dumbledore looked at her in surprise and said, "All day, you have been sitting out here all day when you could have been out celebrating."
"Why would I want to celebrate when two people was just killed, and a poor baby left all alone." Said McGonagall in a very sad voice.
"You should be celebrating because Voldemort is gone." Dumbledore said in a cheerful voice.
"Is it true that the Potter's son lived the killing curse, Albus." Said Minerva.
"Sadly, it is true Minerva. James and Lily's son did survive the curse. That is way I am having Hagrid bring the child here to live with his family." Dumbledore said in a low voice.
Minerva said a very loud voice, "You don't mean these muggles do you. I have been watching them all day. They are the worst. The woman always putting her nose where it doesn't belong and let's not talk about the man who is as big has a whale. Their son is no better than his father big for one so young."
"They are the only family he has left, Minerva." Dumbledore said
"What about the wills that James and Lily had made up? Are you going to have them read?" Ask Minerva.
Dumbledore sided and said, "The godfather that was named was Sirius Black and he was the Potter's secret keeper. Who you think told Voldemort where to find them."
While they were taking, Sirius Patronus shows up with the message, while at the same time Hagrid did with the fake child.
"Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall. Professor Dumbledore here is little Harry for you. Little one fall asleep has we pasted over London." Said Hagrid with tears in his eyes and voice.
"No Hagrid this is not really good bye." Said Dumbledore. As Dumbledore was saying this to Hagrid that McGonagall heard the message that was from Sirius,
"James and Lily dead. Come with Hagrid and meet me at my place number 12 Grimmauld Place. I was not the secret keeper for James and Lily. Peter was. Need to call a meeting of the order."
After the message was deliver that the dog disappeared. That McGonagall turn to Dumbledore and said, "Albus we are taking Harry with us to his godfather to take care of him since he WAS NOT the secret keeper to James and Lily. Peter was. Sirius is at his place and asked for an order meeting and has offer his home to hold it.
Dumbledore said, "Let's go but first we have to leave Harry here with his family that way the blood wards will be here for them if any Death Eaters try to come near here they will not be able to get near the house or street. Harry will be better of here than in our world that way he will not know what has happen this very night and way he will be known as the Boy-Who-Lived. Hagrid, go and let Sirius know that we will be there soon."
Hagrid left on the bike and went to Sirius place will before Dumbledore and McGonagall left. As Dumbledore set the toy look alike of Lizzy as a boy on the door step of number 4, McGonagall seen that it was just a toy that looked like it was a baby that looked like James and Lily. "What are you up to Sirius that you made one of Lizzy's dollies look like her but as a boy. Dumbledore will be in for a real sock in ten years when he learns that the Potters had a daughter instead of a boy and that he was tricked with a doll too." Thought McGonagall. She didn't voice her thoughts to the headmaster.
"There", said Dumbledore has he set the doll done on the steps bring McGonagall out of her thoughts, "We may go now, my dear."
With that said Dumbledore and McGonagall left to go to number 12 Grimmauld Place to find out what was going on. Before Dumbledore left he took out his Put-outer and return all the lights.
At number 12 Grimmauld Place, Sirius, with little Lizzy in his arms, and Hagrid just arrive there when Sirius hurried Hagrid inside before places spells that would not let anyone in that was not a member of the order.
They made their way to the kitchen to get something to eat and drink. By the time Sirius found something to eat for Lizzy, the rest of the members of the order had arrived all but Peter Pettigrew. Severus Snap was there has well.
Before Dumbledore showed up Sirius called for one of the Potter's elf to show up that way Dumbledore will not know that Sirius had James and Lily's child. Everyone was surprise when Rose popped in to Sirius' call.
"What can Rose do for Master Padfoot," Rose said.
"I want you to take Lizzy and go to my room at the top of the third floor and keep her there and quit that way Professor Dumbledore will not know that I have her and that James and Lily didn't have a boy like everyone, but a few close friends know about." Sirius said fast.
"Rose will take young mistress and keep her safe till you call Rose again that it is safe for young mistress." Said Rose. With a pop both Rose and Lizzy were gone and just in time too.
Dumbledore walked in with McGonagall at his heals saying, "Sirius what are you doing here when you betrayed James and Lily since you were their secret keeper."
Just then Remus Lupin walked in and seen Sirius asking, "Sirius. What happen and why are you so sad."
That is when Sirius started to break down. Thinking of Lizzy that she was safe with him brought Sirius back from his grief. "Albus if you cannot talk to me in a calm matter then you will have to leave at once I will not be talked to in that matter and as I told you in my message I was not the secret keeper to James and Lily. They at the last-minute change their minds and went with Peter. I think that Albus needs to leave now. I am to upset to talk to him right now. So will you please leave Albus and give me a few days to calm down after what just happened to my best friends."
Albus Dumbledore was not used to being asked to leave places. No one has ever asked him to leave before. "I will leave you for now Sirius but I will want to know why everyone thought that you was the secret keeper to the Potters." Said Albus. He then left the other members of the order alone.
There was a pop and crying could be heard "Mater Padfoot Master Padfoot," cried Rose a very worried house elf. "Young mistress is crying for you and I can't get her to calm down."
Sirius held out his arms and the very worried elf hand him Lizzy. "There, there Lizzy I here. Your doggy is here for you and so is your wolfly.
With a little hic-up Lizzy said in a small voice, "Doggy and Wolfly here."
McGonagall walk to where Sirius was sitting with Lizzy in his arms and ask, "Is this James and Lily's child?"
"Yes, this is Elizabeth Lilly Potter, also known as Lizzy. Lizzy say hi to everyone." Sirius said to the little girl.
"Daughter, daughter, I thought the Potter's had a son?" Asked McGonagall.
Sirius and Remus shared a look before one of them said, "James and Lily didn't want Dumbledore to know that they had a girl instead of a boy. They wanted to wait till she was eleven years old be for Dumbledore and the rest of the proffers at Hogwarts found out. There is a spell on her to let everyone see a boy instead of a girl who is not family."
McGonagall was very impress and said, "I will not say anything to anyone and let it be a nice surprise when she comes to Hogswart."
The little girl looked around the room before stopping on Lupin and cried out, "Wolfly!!"
Remis walk to where they were at and sat down next to Sirius and held out his arms and said, "Come here sweetheart." Lizzy when to his arms.
Sirius after taking a couple of breaths told everyone there what has happen in the last 12 hours.
"Two days ago, James and Lily got ahold of me though a two-way mirror. They told me that Lizzy was missing me and would not go to sleep for them without them showing her pictures of me. They thought that if she saw me through the mirror that she would go to sleep for them. So, on Halloween, we made the call again this time with little Lizzy so see could see me. It was close to her bedtime that they made the call to me. Wait I will just show you all what happen, so I don't have to tell you. Oh, just so you know I was NOT the Secret keeper to James and Lily, Peter Pettigrew was." Sirius said.
Sirius pulled out the mirror and let everyone else watch the video that Lily made before she died. This is what they heard Lily voice,
"Sirius, you are Lizzy's godfather and I want you to raise her. Whatever you do don't let anyone takes her to my sister's. She hates everything to do with me. After they was all done with it Sirius in a sad voice said, "Tomorrow I am having both James and Lily's wills read, and I am going to get it so that I can raise little Lizzy. No if you don't mind Lizzy needs to go back to sleep. Poor thing is tired but scared."
After that the meeting was over everyone left but Remis stayed. While this was going on, in an ally not far from where the Order was at Peter was surrounded by Aurors. The leader said to Peter to come with them for the murders of James and Lily Potter along with the 20 muggles that Peter had just killed.
"You will never take me alive." Peter said. With that said Peter turned in to a rat and when down into the sewers.
Sirius adopted Lizzy when she was two years old almost three years old. Her adopted day was on June 11th. She was now Lizzy Lilly Potter-Black. When she started school at the age of three to Sirius surprise, she went by the name Lizzy Black.
Lizzy got some of the Black traits as well. She was able to change her looks to look like other people. She got a very rare gift that ran in the Black family. With her grandma on her dad's side being a Black she had a high chance of getting it. Lizzy got the abled of a metamorphmagus. One day she made herself look like a small Sirius down to the gray-blue eyes. In fact, Lizzy's eyes were now a gray-green instead of emerald green eye. They still had the brightness to them.
When Lizzy was four years old got an idea in her head about changing her name to Gemini instead of Lizzy to go with the star name in the Black family. So she went to ask Sirius if she could do that.
"Paddy I have something to ask you. Can I change may name to Gemini Black but also keep my name Lizzy. So my name will be Elizabeth Lilly 'Gemini' Potter-Black. That way I will be keeping the Black family tradition with being name after the stars." Lizzy asked
"Why do you want to do that sweetie and why the name Gemini? Sirius asked.
"Well it was in June when you became my daddy and Gemini is for the month of May 21st to June 21st. That is when you blood adopted me too. So, I think that June 11th should be my new birthday as well, but I will keep my real birthday just for us that way no one will know that I am the girl who lived. I just want to be me when I go to Hogwarts. I will go by the name Lizzy if I have to, but I want my name to be Gemini Lizzy that way if people ask what to call me I can say either Gemini or Lizzy." Gemini said with a straight face.
"Ok, Gemini, we will do that. OK?" Sirius said asked.
"OK" Lizzy the now named Gemini said.
