Chapter 1: You win this time, Megumin.

Kazuma POV

"Explosion!"

As I heard a resounding "boom" fill the air, I smiled, as I laid my eyes on the gorgeous pillar of flame in front of me.

"Not bad. I'd give it a… 80 out of 100. It looked nice and dealt a good bit of damage, but it didn't leave much as a singe in the air, and the wind almost knocked me off my feet. Here, have some-"

Before I could give Megumin enough mana to walk, she weakly slapped my hand away.

"U-uh… I was hoping you'd carry me, actually."

"Okay."

"H-huh?! Just like that? And here I was, thinking you were going to mount at least some level of resistance against me!"

"Eh. I can just teleport us back home. It's no biggie."

"O-oh, right. I forgot you had that spell…"

I smiled, thinking back to all the good old days where me and Megumin would go everyday to blast that castle.

"You know, for a first date with just us, this feels pretty everyday to me."

"I-is that alright?"

"Yeah, sure. It's nice doing this again."

"It sure has been a while, huh."

After a few moments of silence, I began chanting the incantation to teleport. Once I finished, we ended up at a restaurant.

"Kazuma? Is this seriously the place you picked?"

I nodded. We were standing in front of one of the most high-end restaurants in Axel. I wanted to go there for a while now, but I always felt too awkward going in without a date when I was surrounded by couples.

"Hey, Kazuma."

"I'm Kazuma"

"I-I've never been here before so… Could you show me the menu once we get in?"

"Y-yeah! Sure thing! Also, I should give you some mana now-"

"Actually, I think I can stand now."

Megumin hopped off of my back and immediately tumbled to the ground. After a few moments of struggling, she stood up for a moment, albeit swaying rapidly.

"M-maybe it's best if you stay with me…"

"You know, I-I could probably stay steadier if…"

I watched in shock as Megumin extended her hand towards me. Well, I knew what she wanted and what the heck, we're in a relationship now! Surely this isn't awkward- and she's falling over.

I barely managed to grab onto Megumin's hand before she almost face-planted into the ground.

"T-thanks, Kazuma."

"That's still my name."

We walked- Well, I walked, Megumin wobbled, into the restaurant.

"Hey, isn't that Kazuma?"

"Yeah! He defeated the devil king just a bit ago!"

"Can I have your autograph, Kazuma-san?"

A young-looking lady had pushed through the crowd and was holding out a pen and paper to my face. How could I refuse one of my fans?

"Sure thing."

I quickly signed the paper and waited for someone to show me and Megumin to our seats. It didn't take long for someone to get us there.

"Right this way sir, madam."

I guided Megumin over to our table where we sat down. When we did, I could see that Megumin was averting her eyes and looking kind of… ah. I see.

"H-hey, Megumin?"

"What is it?"

"I just want you to know that… You're my favourite person in the world and you'll always be my top priority."

I watched as Megumin's mouth went wide and she failed to suppress a blush as well as a wobbly smile. Seeing this, I began blushing and smiling as well. We just sat there for a bit until a waitress came by to take our order.

"What can I get for you 2?"

"I'll get a regular beer and a frog soup special."

"I'll get a beer."

I stared at Megumin for a second before hastily explaining away.

"Hey Megumin, you shouldn't be drinking! You're too young!"

"Says you! You're dating me anyways! If I'm too young to have beer then it shouldn't be legal for you to-"

"Enough! I'm only 3 years older than you!"

"So why do you get to drink, huh?!"

I sighed and accepted defeat. Looks like there'd be no way to get her out of this one. Still, what was the harm that 1 mug of beer could do to her? Heck, I'd only really start to get tipsy after a few mugs so I doubt that-

"K-Kashuma *hic* y-you look f-funny today! Why are you sho… wobbly?"

"Megumin, how'd this happen?! This is why I told you not to drink! Goddammit, how am I going to explain to the others… Darkness is gonna skin me alive, Aqua's gonna… Wait, how much did you-"

She… She only drank half her mug. So… That's a sign of a lightweight right there. Out of curiosity, I reached out and grabbed her adventurer card.

"Huh… That's some dangerously low constitution. This is the first I'm hearing of- Oh, looks like it's being debuffed by mana exhaustion. Looks like you should've taken some of mine huh?"

"Kazhuma, why are you dancing?"

"Ugh! Forget it! I'll just take this home. Hey! Could I get this for take out?"

"Sure thing, sir! Have a nice night!"

With that, I sighed and teleported back home with the food and Megumin in tow. I was almost unaware of the fact that I was holding her hand. Of course, I noticed when she almost collapsed.

*sigh* "So much for our first da-"

"KAZUMA, YOU DAMN PEDONEET! What in the world did you do to her?!"

Aqua had ran up to Kazuma and began shaking him furiously.

"H-hey, Aqua! Why are you s-sho loud?"

"You drugged her! You lolicon!"

"It's not like that! I thought… I… She only drank half a mug of beer and got like this…"

"What?! How could you let her drink?!"

"I-I thought she could handle a single mug!"

"Kashuma… C-could you take me to my room? I'm sho tired."

"Nonsense! You'd let this pedo-NEET take you to your room alone? I'll do it instead-"

"No! I refushe! Come on, Kashuma!"

Megumin had begun tugging on my hand relatively hard. She tried to walk up the stairs but tripped. I barely managed to pull her back with my hand.

"K-Kashuma?"

"Yeah. I know."

I quickly put Megumin on my back and headed upstairs. Once I put her in her bed, she immediately grabbed me and pulled me into the bed.

"Wha- Megumin! Let me go!"

"I want to stay with Kashuma~"

Oh god, I'm turning red now… How do I get out of this? If Aqua sees this, she'll call me a pedo-NEET again! Plus, Megumin's drunk right now! I shouldn't take advantage of this… But I can't get out of her grip! God, why is my strength so low!

"Fine! I'll stay!"

Megumin let out a contented sigh and began burying herself into my chest.

"Wha-hey! M-Megumin! You're a little close right now-"

"Ka-Kashuma…"

"Megumin? Megumin!"

Dammit! She was asleep and she still won't let go! I… I guess I'll have to stay here for the night…

"Ugh. You win this time, Megumin."

I wrapped my arms around her and fell asleep after a few minutes.
