Disclaimer : I do not own Ah! My Goddess or The Rising of the Shield Hero. I also haven't read or watched Shield Hero, but have read the TV Tropes page and the Wiki. So details will be very inaccurate.

Hild wandered to a forest, where she sat on a chopped tree. She looked at the shield on her left arm.

"So a holy weapon that won't leave me alone? Let's see what makes you tick," Hild muttered.

Malty was hiding behind a tree and was about to announce herself when she saw a glowing disc appear above the shield.

Hild studied the disk for a few moments as she muttered. "So… you can change forms, but it's dependent on what you absorb and if I have a recipe for anything specific. Huh… Reminds me of the weapons in Final Fantasy 8. But the cursed versions… So I have to feel strong negative emotions to unlock those.."

'So she's a magic user?' Malty thought.

"Storing items, immune to slave seals, translating spoken language, teleportation to whichever area is being attacked by the monsters of the Waves, no hard level cap, but I have to do certain events to go past 40 and 100… Huh, so RPG world," Hild muttered. She then deactivated the screen, leaned back, and cried out, "Boring! Isekais are just too dime-a-dozen nowadays."

"On the charges of you drugging and violating Princess Malty Melromarc, how do you plead, Shield Hero?" King Aultcray Melromarc said with glare.

"Not guilty," Hild replied, her arms bound in chains. Despite what many would claim, Hild actually was innocent.

Malty just liked getting people killed by falsely claiming they were trying to force themselves on her.

"Let it be known that she pleaded guilty about the crimes committed against my daughter!" King Aultcray announced.

Hild raised an eyebrow as she thought, 'Ah, Kangaroo court. So no reason to play nice and fair.'

"I tried to be a good and honest girl, but she forced herself on me because she was jealous of how beautiful I am!" Malty cried out as she let out crocodile tears.

"How dare you continue to upset my daughter! After all we've done for you, Shield Hero!" King Aultcray growled.

"Let's see... A bag of coins that your soldiers try to assist pickpockets in trying to steal from me, ignoring those who harass me, a princess in disguise whose story is an obvious lie," Hild began. "And the fact that no kingdom is supposed to summon more than one hero, so the Queen in a matriarchal monarchy has to put out those diplomatic fires. I can imagine just how furious she'll be, once word of how you've treated me reaches her. Especially since in Melromarc, women not only have more social power and value than men, but violence against women is a death sentence. As you can clearly see, I am a woman."

Hild leaned back and shook herself enough to have her boobs jiggle.

King Aultcray's glare seemed to get worse. "Were it not for the fact we need you, I'd have you executed. But in order to summon your replacement, we'd have to kill off the other three heroes."

The Spear hero, The Bow hero, and the Sword hero all gasped. None of them wanted to be killed.

King Aultcray sneered at Hild. "So we'll just have to break you down into a simpering puppet that will obey the orders of myself, my daughter, and the heroes. A fate that… is honestly far too good for you."

He then shrugged, "But it will have to suffice, at least for now."

"How about-" Hild began.

"Silence!" King Aultcray yelled, slamming his staff down on the floor. "Your punishment is that you will be stripped of all but your shield and exiled from the kingdom of Melromarc! All that you once owned will be given to Princess Malty Melromarc as the start of your repentance! Any further items will also be given to her at her choosing"

Hild closed her eyes and sighed. King Aultcray took this as a sign that Hild gave up.

Then Hild opened her eyes.

All around her froze in place, even those who couldn't see her face.

Her eyes were greatly annoyed. All felt fear at the woman-shaped being at the center of the throne room.

"I tried to play nice, but it seems that this place needs a lesson or two," Hild said before snapping her chains like they were made of pretzels. "I have no idea why I was summoned to be a 'hero' for this world, but I was willing to give it a chance. After all, immortal beings do get bored."

She began to saunter towards the King. A good number behind Hild chose to stare at her swaying booty. Hild continued to speak. "Honestly, I am a poor choice for a hero, but not for any reason you might come up with, Aultcray."

Once she stood near Aultcray, Hild lightly pulled on his beard. She was amused that he was too scared to react or move. "In fact, I am usually the leader of the demons attacking worlds like this. It's purely business, mind you. Shaking up worlds where things are getting bored and dusty, allowing heroes to rise up out of mediocrity, cleaning up stagnant pools of crime. One might say that I am the hero who forces change via being the third party opposition, but I think those people are reaching for something that doesn't exist or make sense."

"I… I knew it. Those filthy… Demi-humans ally themselves with demons!" Aultcray uttered.

"Nnnope," Hild popped as she began to saunter towards a man in holy garments. "They're just as big of target as this kingdom. The Church of the Three Heroes? Well, they're a church that plans on overthrowing the kingdom and installing themselves as rulers, all funded on your own coin. Isn't that right, Bisca T. Balmus, the Pope of the Church of Three Heroes?"

She patted the pope on the shoulder and looked at her own hand for a moment. Seeing no burns, she sighed, "Here I was, hoping there was at least a smidgen of holiness in you. Such a shame. I guess this means you not only think you're a god, but you're powering yourself up with the magic power of your followers."

She shook her head. "Pathetic."

Hild looked towards Malty with a smirk, which further frightened the princess. Hild walked towards her, saying, "And then there's you. A lady who thinks she's above punishment, who can do no wrong, who can do as she pleases. Not only that, but the kingdom even believes it."

Hild stopped when she stood in the middle of the room. She raised a hand up in the air, ready to snap her fingers.

"Therefore, I'll punish all those who think along those lines," Hild said before snapping her fingers.

A wave of energy came from her. Anything and anyone the wave touched was covered in transparent crystal. The wave only spread until it reached the limits of the Kingdom of Melromarc.

Hild walked over to Malty and caressed her face, saying, "It's going to take a few moments, but everyone within this prison will be sharing thoughts. No one can hide theirs from anyone else, nor can they ignore others. Don't worry, the ones who could see through your lies are spared from this."

She walked over to the three heroes, also encased in crystal. Hild opened up another terminal and typed away. After a few moments, the Legendary Weapons teleported out of the grasp of the heroes and appeared near Hild, floating in the air.

"I'll be looking for better heroes for these items. After all, who better to recognize a hero, than the one who often fought them in the past?" Hild said before she walked away, her destination was to leave the Kingdom.

She smiled as she overheard the screaming thoughts of all those trapped in her crystal prison.

Notes from HotelKatz - Isekais of a Japanese person winding up in a medieval-ish vaguely European-ish country seem way too common at the time of this writing. I even heard that most submissions of the type get thrown out if the first page isn't that interesting, due how many are getting sent to Manga companies and visual novel companies.

I doubt it's Dungeons and Dragons, though.

Thing is, I heard that Slayers started off as group of friends playing Dungeons and Dragons. One of them thought that one of their campaigns would make a great idea for a Visual novel and it spiraled off from there.

I thought about Keiichi being the Shield hero and him being supported by all the goddesses he befriended,. Mara would try to ruin it, right up until she discovers that another goddess named Medea is the one responsible for the Waves. Then she and the Norns team up to fight said goddess. Mostly because Mara still likes Urd.

But I thought Hild would be more fun. Also, I imagine that Hild would be able to somehow find a giant Robot transformation for the shield, simply by reasoning that a giant Robot still is a shield.
