"H-huh? Where… right. Kazuma? Did you…"
"Yes. Megumin? That's my answer. Yes. I love you, Megumin. Even if you're a crazy explosion mage, I'll never stop loving you."
I really shouldn't be trying to hold back laughter while I'm saying this.
"That's a relief…"
When will she realize?
"What's so funny?"
"The ring! It fell out of your pocket."

"U-uh, Kazuma? Can you…"
"Yeah, sure."
Drain touch really does help out a lot.
"T-thank you, Kazuma. Now, can we do this properly?"

"You had your moment! Besides, I thought that this would be more fitting! I got you a ring right after we beat the devil king, although I was going to wait for a while to give it to you. Anyways, we're engaged now!"
"Yay… Hey, that's… Kazuma!"
I may or may not have given her a special type of manatite-infused ring.
"Congratulations! You may now cast explosions twice a day! It took a while, but eventually, me and Wiz managed to make it happen."

"Can you carry me home now?"
"Huh? Didn't you just try to tackle me to the ground?"
There's that signature smirk.
"Hmm… You know, I'm suddenly feeling pretty tired right now~"

You know, the feeling of the person you love nuzzling into your back is pretty nice. You should try it.

"Aqua! You were supposed to wait until he went into the kitchen!"
"Why would I do that? Come on! You think that I'm going to sit around and wait for that? Well guess what? I'm a goddess! And I don't wait for eris disciples to tell me to come out!"
"You idiot! You ruined the surprise!"
"H-hey! While it's nice to see you guys fight over me, I would like to see the surprise you had ready for me."
"W-well alright. I do hope that you like it. Aqua and I spent a great deal of time-"
"More like I spent a great deal of time! You just lazed about ordering me to do everything you said!"
"How dare you?! I did not simply laze about!"

"Kazuma? You can put me down now. I'll show you."

"Alright then, lead the way."
Hey, getting dragged by the wrist isn't so- Wait… is that-
"Happy birthday, Kazuma. I hope you enjoy the cake and sushi!"
"Y-you… Woah. That's gotta be the size of your explosion magic… Is that 5 layers? And the sushi! It's been prepared and seasoned to perfection! Megumin, did you do all of this?"
"Well, Aqua helped get the fish, but other than that, it was all me!"
"Thank you, Megumin. You know, I don't think I even have it in me to be an asshole right now. You guys really went all out."
"Fufufufu… As befitting of a great archmage such as myself."
*sigh* "Well? Aren't you guys gonna dig in too?"
"Gladly! Hey Aqua, Darkness, you don't want to miss out! Also, grab the other dishes!"
"There's more?!"
"Yep! King crab, that takoyaki you told me about, some steak provided by Darkness, and… uh… aqua's tuna mayo sandwiches…"
"Crab, takoyaki, and steak. Got it. You guys really are the best, Megumin."
"Hey! You're just gonna leave out my dish?! Damn you, Kazuma!"
"Damn right I am! I swear, you must put skill points into making your food inedible! There's no way that anyone can be that bad of a cook!"
"I'm gonna kill you!"
"Calm down everyone! I believe that we should simply enjoy this meal."
"Good idea, Darkness. I for one would be quite ashamed if our party leader's birthday was ruined by his own bickering."
"Hey! It was- oh, forget it. Still, it was really thoughtful of you to make those dishes, Megumin. It… reminds me of home."
That's all it took to make her bashful again?
"You can stop turning away and blushing, easymin."
"W-well, is that ok? It reminds you about home, I mean. Wouldn't it be painful since you can't go back?"
"Oh, a little from time to time, but it's not like I had much back there to begin with. My parents laughed when they heard about how I died."
"Wait, you died?"
Crap! I forgot!
"U-uh, yeah! Aqua revived me, but at a pretty high price. I had to move out so that my family could continue to live. They're not doing too well financially and last I heard, their village got burned down by the devil king."
"Your ingenuity surprises me yet again."
"Hey! When did you speak like that, Aqua?"
Still, this is really good… I can't imagine how much time Megumin spent on this.
"Megumin? How long did you spend on all of this?"
"!"
Bashful today, aren't we?
"Well?"
"U-uh… a day or so- Eek! Why are your eyes red, Kazuma? Fine, fine, I spent a week on these! It took a few sleepless nights, but I did it… Hey! Your eyes are shining green now."
"Mhm. It's nice that you told the truth."
"Yeah… hehe…"
Today's honestly been one of the best days I've had here. I guess days like these are really worth all the trouble I go through. My girlfriend proposed, my party threw a great… well… party for me, and the day's not half over.
"Easymin."
"H-hey. I went through all this trouble to make today perfect."
"And sticking it to you 3 makes it even better!"
"Seriously? This is how you treat you fiancée-"
Megumin? Did you tell Aqua and Darkness about your engagement plans? Nevermind, that sweat tells me everything I need to know.
"You're what?! Kazuma, you mean to tell me that you proposed to her?"
"You damn pedo-NEET! How could you hide this from a goddess? I swear-"
"She's the one who proposed to me, goddammit!"
"WHAT?!"
"What were you thinking, Megumin? Getting into a relationship with this hiki-NEET is one thing, but marrying him?! Have you gone insane?"
"Personally, I would not have minded-"

"I am not a NEET! I am the adventurer who killed the devil king! Besides, just shut up!"

"Well, I thought that since it was your birthday, I would hold off on annoying you too much. Besides, I just proposed to you, so it would be weird if I was driving you off the walls."
"Thank you, Megumin. Now, I'm gonna go get Wiz, Vanir, Iris, and Yunyun cuz we're having a party!"
"Alright! Can you buy me some wine too?"
"Fine, just this once, Aqua. Hey! Don't even think about trying any, Megumin. I wouldn't want you to forget any part of the day you proposed to me, ok?"
"Fine… It feels weird to just drink neroid, though."
"Hey, it's fine. I won't get drunk either. We'll be sober together! Hey, maybe you should deal with drunk aqua this time."
"Huh?! Are you saying that I'm a lot to deal with?"
"Of course I am. Now shut up, I'm going to get them."
