This chapter is gonna be emotional, and Ruby fans are gonna feel it.
"No time to mess around Ruby! Get out of this forest now!" His loud proclamation snaps the girl's attention to the situation, he sees her mood switch from a teenage girl with way too much enthuthiasm watching her favorite show to an actual huntress-ish attitude, picking up her way too big to wield scythe she stood defiantly in the wind, her dress, skirt? Or is it a combat dress or skirt? Was blowing in the wind gotta Ask later , right now he has to face an oncoming horde of enemies, of which he was sure that anyone apart from Glynda or Ozpin in the school can face, even then their bodies will be on the brink of death, he knew Ozpin was immortal, an immortal knew a fellow immortal one he saw one, anyways where was he? Oh right, giant horde of monsters and two teenage girls thinking they can defeat that horde of monsters wearing skirts and wielding weapons seemingly designed to be impractical, but who was he to judge, except their future combat teacher; the horde was closing in on him, multiple grimm "lanes" have formed in the vicinity, a small part of him wants to just grab the two girls and bolt out of there, but the more logical side knew that if he had done that no one would stop the incoming tidal wave of grimm, so he just hoped that they would get out of here before the battle begins, his concern was not of his own safety, however he is concerned for his safety if he had to look after two children while looking after his safety while trying to protect the said childs from incoming danger.
"You two should really get out of here, I know you want a fight but the fact is this fight is not worth it, don't look at me like that Ruby Rose, I thought with all the praise from the drunk bird that you would be more logical about this situation." Ruby's reaction to the comment was a flinch, he could see her resolve deteriorating, he felt so sorry for doing this but he hoped she would understand later "you two right now are just brats who want to fight, fight later, right now you are nothing but an inconvenience and bothersome distraction." his words sunk deep into the hearts of both Ruby and Weiss, Ruby wants to retort but the tears at her eyes prevented her from speaking out against him, Weiss saw reason behind this argument but the jab at her pride left her speechless, she knew the blond long enough to know that he was always kind, and never pushy about matters unless they involve a life or death situation, which from the way that he voiced it they were.
Ruby wanted to die, there is no other way of explaining what she was feeling right now, her second uncle figure just spoke words she never wanted to hear straight through her heart, she saw the tears blurring her eyes, she saw the barely restrained tears in Weiss's eyes too, he was never mean to her before, always comforting her whenever he visited their home, he was always joking around and laughing, he was always so bright, when she almost got sammed she saw the side that he was showing right now, serious and rigid as steel, absolute no fuss, you mess up, you die. But there wasn't a chance she thought that this attitude would be directed at her, the most he had done was give her a glare, and now he was giving her the will to die right here on the spot with a simple glance.
Something snapped inside and Ruby ran, or rather she used her semblance and full sprinted into the clearing of the temple, straight into Yang's stomach as she was launched through the air, landing on her back, she was raging from the fact that her sister forgot to manage her speed again, but when she heard the sobbing and then the tears her anger was now aimed at the bastard who did this to her, whoever he or she was they best be prepared to face a fistfull of exploding gauntlets and mountain shattering punches with the combination of- "u-uncle N-Naruto told us to r-run." she gasped out those words, so Naruto was the one who made her little sister cry then, no matter how much she loved her fellow blond for taking care of them, there was an unspoken rule in the family; you make Ruby cry, you pay with a fight, you make Ruby weep, you pay with your dignity. That was a rule the house always followed, both of her uncles followed that rule to a point of no return, she was less caring about the rules however, she just talked to whoever caused her sister trouble, repeatedly, with fists, and loud 'KA-BOOM's, no one was an exception, not even Ozpin.
"Y-Yang, please just grab a relic and r-run." she was going to give her uncle a good few (doven) lightly strengthen slaps to the face (heavily delivered kicks to the groin) and twist a few arms (break a few bones). But right now she considered her options, and that her new teammate informed her of a incoming horde of grimm bigger than a mountain or two coming in she decided to wait later, right now she just had to get out of here, although how exactly does her teammate sense the sounds way earlier than she did? Meh, ask her bow wearing partner later.
