Eternal Luffy 3

I want to address something a reviewer asked before I start here. The question was why does Ozpin have to die as well if Salem was the one who broke the deal. The easy answer is because it's my story and therefore my rules. The in story reason is that Luffy doesn't want a world where one side has an immortal working for it while the other does not, he put that rule in there believing that Ozpin would be the one to break the deal not Salem and didn't want to see Salem as the only other immortal. Also if Salem were to break the deal and Luffy where to kill her then what would Ozpin's purpose be anymore his reincarnating life would be without purpose and therefore tortuous and as an Immortal he could not see a man live forever with no purpose if he can help it. I hope that answers your question satisfactorily.

Eternal luffy

Ozpin asks Glynda to come in as he wishes to talk to her. When she walks in he explains that Luffy will be helping teach combat class and that the rules will be different when he teaches but they can go over the new rules when they make their lesson plans. He asks her to show Luffy to his room.

Glynda "Luffy said something to me outside before he came in and I can't get it out of my head. What did you mean when you mentioned the lady in red?"

Luffy "exactly what I said though I could tell you more I have promised myself not to meddle to much if I don't have to."

Ozpin "If he said you should do something you should do it Glynda, he is something of a prophet though that is not the right word. All will be explained tomorrow night to everyone who needs to know including yourself."

Glynda "Then after I show Luffy to his room I have to go into the city for the night."

Ozpin "Call me when it happens. I don't know what he told you and thats because it was for you not me but I am sure whatever he said will come to pass it always does."

With that Glynda shows Luffy around the school and then up to his room. Once they get there Luffy say's he knows she has questions and while everything she needs to know will be revealed tomorrow he is feeling generous and will allow her one question that he will answer and regardless of if anyone else needs to know the answer he will tell her.

Glynda thinks on this for a while before settling on her question "Why tell me anything?"

Luffy is surprised by this question though happy to answer and happy to hear her ask such a question. "You Glynda are far more important than you could ever realize. You would play a key role in the future if I were to allow it to play out as I could. Since I am not you will play an even more important role. That's all I can say for now, go into the city enjoy yourself tonight and come to me tomorrow and we can discuss lessons."

Glynda "So you will answer more of that question later it sounds like? I will is there anything I should be watching for this lady in red?"

Luffy "She may appear to be no more than a child but she is far more than meets the eye. You will recognize her by cloak just remember she is not her mother and she needs love and guidance not just a heavy hand."

Glynda is now even more confused than she was before is he telling her that he should raise this person he is sending her to go find? Is he saying she is connected to her past? She takes her leave and heads down to the city thinking over everything she has been told tonight her important? A key role? If I allow the future? These things she is running through her head and she decides she needs something she has not indulged in in many a year. She finds her way to a small tavern across the street from Dust to Dawn and settles in to have a drink unaware that the place she needed to be later is across the street.

Later after a few drinks and some quite contemplation she hears what sounds like a robbery going on across the street and remembering the words of Luffy she heads out to see if she can help. She is stunned to see a girl no more than 15 not only stopping the robbery but wielding a scythe and a sniper rifle while doing it all while dressed in a deep red cloak. When she sees that piece of clothing something clicks in her head, Summer Rose. She leaps in and assists and after saving Red's life she is asked for an autograph. She smiles and obliges. She informs Red that she has to take down to the police station not because she is in trouble but because she needs to help identify anyone she saw that might have gotten away as well as provide a statement.

She calls Ozpin and tells him what happened and he informs her he will be down soon. When they get to the station Ruby as she found out her name was is sitting in the break room when Glynda walks in to talk to her.

Glynda "So who taught you to fight like that?"

Ruby "Well I am training at Signal but I kind of have a special trainer since I was no good with regular weapons you see."

Glynda "That trainer wouldn't happen to be Qrow would it"

Ruby's eyes light up when she hears her uncles name "Yeah he is my uncle he teaches over at Signal some times."

Glynda "I used to know your uncle back when we were at Beacon together. If I can ask a personal question, who gave you that cloak?"

Ruby her eyes now getting sad for a second "Well my dad gave it to me right before I started Signal but both the note inside and my dad said my mom made it for me for when I started my own journey in life. My mom died when I was young you see but she always wore this awesome white cloak on all of her missions. I used to love that thing always trying it on when she wasn't looking, eventually she made me one to wear myself. It was nice to get this from her even though she couldn't be here to see me."

Glynda "Your mom was Summer Rose right? I knew quite well we were rivals for lack of a better term during school but fierce friends for a long time."

Ruby eyes going wide "You knew my mom? You were friends with her?"

Glynda smiles "Yes her team and mine were the top teams at Beacon during our time. Loosing contact with her is one of my great regrets in life."

It's at this point that Ozpin walks in with a plate of cookies. He asks her if she would like to attend Beacon when the term starts. Ruby says yes immediately. Ozpin does mention he has to get the okay from her dad but assures her she will be at Beacon if not this year then in the future. When her dad picks her up Ozpin asks for a word.

Ozpin "Tai I know she is not ready for it but I want her to attend Beacon this fall. The true immortal has come back and he says she is important. He sent Glynda to protect her tonight and I believe he told her other things as well. I know you lost faith in me when Summer died and I can't fault you I lost faith in me as well for a spell but him coming to me now means something has changed. While I can't give you the details here my inner circle is having a meeting tomorrow night you are welcome back in as I never considered you out of it. I know you have two daughters to raise but Yang is already going to Beacon."

Tai shakes his head "The last time I was in one of those meetings you sent Summer to what ended up being her death. I remember you mentioning this true immortal and I thought you said he wouldn't get involved unless something changed you always where vague on that and I let it slide then. If I allow her to go I want to meet this man face to face one on one."

Ozpin "I can ask but I can not force him to do anything."

Tai "Thats the best I can get right now. I will be at that meeting. For now consider my answer yes it would break Ruby's heart to say no. I have girls to take home so excuse me and I will see you tomorrow." With that he leaves and takes his girls home telling Ruby he agreed to allow her early entry to Beacon. This makes her so happy.

Eternal Luffy

That next morning Glynda walks to Luffy's room with coffee to talk to him about lesson plans and last night. Luffy is already up and doing meditation when Glynda arrives. He asks her to come in and shows her to the sitting room.

Luffy "I am sure you have questions about last night. I am glad it went well. Thank you for the coffee."

Glynda "I do have questions, your right. What did you mean when you said she is not her mother?"

Luffy smiles "I know all about what broke the two of you apart and why you never spoke to her again outside of meetings with Ozma. She is not her mother she has not hurt you she is simply a little girl with more power and responsibility than any 15 year old should have."

Glynda "Ozma? What do you mean more responsibility?"

Luffy "I forgot he goes by Ozpin these days. She was raised by her sister who is only two years older than her. Tai when Summer died lost himself and so Yang raised Ruby with some help from Qrow when he was available but mostly it was Yang up until Ruby was 12. Ruby had to help raise Yang as much as Yang raised Ruby because of this they are codependent to an extent though they both harbor unacknowledged resentment towards each other. Ruby is one of the future Generals in the war I am here to wage though she does not know it and Ozpin can not either or he will try and rush her along that is what I mean by responsibility. Ozpin, when he saw her last night, decided that she, much like Summer, would be a wonderful weapon. You must decide for yourself if you will help him turn her into a weapon or allow her to become a fully functioning young women."

Glynda is stunned but what she has just been told "What war are you here to wage? I will have to consider what you said while I don't like the idea of that little girl being made into a weapon I don't know that I can help her in the way it sounds like she needs. I have never been good at the whole nurture thing."

Luffy "As you have been informed I am a true immortal. I have been around long before Ozpin and Salem and the Gods all of the world as you know it. When Ozpin and Salem began their great war I sat them down and had a discussion with them. I informed them that they would leave each other's powers alone and that in return I would stay away however if either side broke this agreement then both lives were forfeit. This was mostly done so that Ozpin would not try and become more powerful as a world were a long lived being is seeking power is a bad world. I should know I have seen enough of them. Salem recently had someone steal a maidens powers. Maidens are an extension of Ozpin's powers. In doing this She broke the rules and as such I have declared war. I gave her a chance to undo what she did and she refused. Ozpin is aware I must kill him at the conclusion of this war and that he will not reincarnate when I do. I believe he will try and rally forces to him to try and prevent this from happening. Of course Salem is already amassing her armies."

Glynda is stunned by this revelation "What do you mean it was designed against Ozpin?"
Luffy "When Salem came back she was mad at the Gods and at Ozpin not at humanity were as when Ozpin came back he has always sought out seats of power generally ones that he can hide his real power and influence such as a headmaster of an academy, the leader of an order of knights and so on throughout history. If he were to defeat Salem and allowed to continue to reincarnate he would always seek power over humanity. Never should a man who seeks power for its own sake be allowed to wield it."

Glynda continues to be stunned by these revelations as Ozpin never told her any of that. "Well I have to do some soul searching. I suppose we should discuss lesson plans as we will be co teaching."

Luffy happy she can compartmentalize agree's "I was thinking of having a giant battle royal the first day of class semblances only, no weapons. If a semblance is an extension of the soul then it should have combat applications even if they don't know them yet. After that I want to see if any of them can actually hit me and how many can stand up to my conquerers will."

Glynda "I thought you didn't seek power? Whats with this conquerors will? That sounds interesting I had never thought about that before."

Luffy "Thats what the people called it when I was a pirate back before I was cursed. Basically I exert my will outwards in a wave and based on your will power you either faint or with stand. I don't seek power over people never have but I have always sought the power to protect those I care about."

Glynda "Thats an interesting power would you mind showing me?"

Luffy "Put your coffee down I don't want to spill it and I will show you. I will send ever more powerful waves at you until I win. Remember I am an immortal and have the will of one you will not win a battle of wills with me but try your hardest."

She puts her coffee down and then feels this wave trying to over power her but she fight it off. She keeps feeling these and they are ever more powerful until she can not win and then they stop.

Luffy "Good job most people including Ozpin couldn't last that long. How do you feel?"

Glynda "I feel very tired like I fought all day without rest."

Luffy nods "Now Glynda I have limited experience training people so I will rely on you to reign me in. I have been told before that my training is Hell. It works and they will be more powerful though."

Glynda "I can reign you in but if we are to go to war against Salem and thats all I will commit to right now then perhaps you should train me as well."

Luffy agrees. They look over at the clock and its about time to get ready for their meeting with the inner circle. So they go their separate ways.

Luffy puts on his hat and walks to Ozpin's office to talk to the man before the meeting.

Luffy "So what all do you want me to tell them?"

Ozpin "Your name and that you represent balance in this conflict and that is why you have not been involved before now. Tell them you will be teaching here and you will be assisting in the fight now that Salem has made a move."

Luffy "You want me to lie to them. I have not lied since being cursed and I have been asked by people far more powerful than you to do so. I did not lie for them I will not lie for you."

Ozpin "What lie? You do represent balance in the conflict you will be teaching here Salem making her move did prompt you to act."

Luffy "You want me to appear to be working under you I am not now nor will I ever be working under you. You do not give me orders you are not even my equal in this conflict you are as much my enemy as Salem don't forget that young man."

Ozpin sensing he is loosing control "You know what tell them whatever you want not all of them are trustworthy enough to know the truth."

Luffy "Then why are they in your inner circle unless you are simply trying to get their power under your command."

It's at this point that people begin coming in for the meeting. We have Tia, Qrow, Glynda, Ironwood, Lionheart, and a few others. Everyone but Qrow Ozpin and Luffy are surprised to see Tai return to this group but no one comments. Everyone is surprised to see a new person who none of them have ever met before in the room though and they give questioning glances at Ozpin. Ozpin introduces Luffy and tells them he is here for something important.

Luffy "I want to get a few things out of the way first I will not be taking questions in front of the group if you have questions find me in my room later. I am a true immortal. Unlike Salem and Ozpin I can not be killed and believe me I have tried everything. I am here because of an ancient agreement between myself Salem and Ozpin. Salem broke our agreement when her associate attacked the Fall Maiden thank you Qrow for your intervention; it saved her life though not her powers. In her doing this I have declared War on her and as such I came to tell Ozpin of my intentions. I will be teaching here for the time being as this is where I am needed. Tai your daughter Ruby is here because she is special beyond anything you can understand. Lionheart you will continue your relationship with Salem as certain events must play out; however you now work for me and are under my protection. If anyone interferes with Leo I will declare them an enemy of humanity and act accordingly. Qrow seek out Raven she has a role to play and I would rather her an ally then an enemy. Ironwood I don't like you, you remind to much of enemies long past but unlike them you actually have humanities best interest at heart don't loose yourself in the pursuit of an enemy who is already dead and just doesn't know it. I will be in my room Glynda knows the way as does Ozpin I am sure you all have questions find me later." With that he leaves and heads back to his room to await them.

Ozpin has a mess on his hands now he is not sure what to make of what Luffy just said. The meeting devolves and eventually they all leave. They all have things to think about but eventually each of them finds themselves in Luff's room on his couch asking questions and getting answers.

Tai "I understand you said I won't understand and I feel I can trust you on that but tell me this will Ruby and Yang be safe?"

Luffy "They are going to a school were they will be taught to fight monsters both grimm and otherwise they will not be safe. They will however be protected. If you want them safe take them back to patch and marry them off and never allow them to fight again, you will break their hearts and they will hate you for it but they will be safe. Glynda and myself will be watching out for Ruby to ensure she does not end up like Summer as for Yang she will be protected but I can not guarantee safe."

Tai "I understand. Glynda and you both watching out for Ruby? Why?"

Luffy "That is something you should ask her."

Tai thanks him and leaves.

Lionheart "How did you know I am working with Salem? What does being under your protection mean?"

Luffy "As an immortal I see everything its part of my curse. It means exactly what I said if any one harms you they become an enemy of humanity."

Leo still unsure what that means leaves

Ironwood "What do you mean my enemy is dead already Salem is still around as far as anyone can tell?"

Luffy "Who said I was talking about Salem? She will be dealt with but certain things must happen first. Bring your fleet for the Vytal Festival and bring Penny she has great purpose here beyond simply competing, I can not tell you any more."

Ironwood is frustrated and leaves.

Qrow "Why do I have to seek Raven she hates me and I her."

Luffy "You don't hate her nor she you. You don't see eye to eye and thats alright you don't have to but she has a role to play. I need to ask you something and I don't want an answer today. If you had to choose between Ruby and Yang or Ozpin who would you side with?"

Qrow "I don't even need to think on that I would side with Ruby and Yang especially after Summer… I made her a promise and I broke it but I will never abandon Ruby and Yang."

Luffy nods "Good talk to Glynda tell her you are on team Ruby she will understand as she is as well."

Qrow "Glynda? Really? I never would have seen that coming."

Luffy "Quit drinking and your semblance will change don't and you will continue to bring misfortune to everyone you love."

With that Qrow leaves he has much to think about.
