Eternal Luffy 4

Life proceeds as normal leading up to initiation Glynda and Luffy ,eet up and discuss lesson plans and other things. It's during this time that Luffy begins his training of Glynda and as he had said it is hell. She thought she had trained hard before but apparently she didn't know what that meant, always pushing her semblance beyond what it should be possible to do and then various weapons training on top of that she leaves the training room every day more tired than she has ever felt.

Meanwhile over in Patch Qrow has been staying with Tai and the girls. Tai and Qrow discuss what they want to tell the girls what Luffy told them what they make of the War to come and throughout this whole time not once does Qrow grab a drink.

Tai "You have gone almost 2 days with a drink that has to be some kind of new record for you" he says teasingly

Qrow "It is the longest I have been sober since Summer died….During my conference with Luffy he told me I could change my semblance and stop hurting those around me if I stopped drinking. I am at least willing to try."

Tai was shocked "That would be amazing. I know the girls love having you around and that would mean you could be around more then? What do you make of the whole situation between Ozpin and Luffy''

Qrow "Yeah I guess it would, it would be nice to see them more often especially outside of my bird form. I haven't trusted Ozpin since he sent Summer to her death but I kept doing missions because I needed to finish what Summer started or so I believed after our meeting I don't know what to believe anymore. I don't know what to make of a person claiming to be an immortal who can kill Salem who up until now has not acted. That said Ozpin is genuinely scared of him so perhaps he can do it. I am willing to watch and give him the benefit of the doubt."

Tai "Yeah I lost all faith in Ozpin after he sent Summer to her death. That was the mothers of both my daughters he cost me. I simply can not trust him. Luffy offered me a choice and I made my decision. He said I could either keep the girls safe or protected. I chose protected and I don't know how but he got Glynda on his side and anyone who can sway her away from Ozpin has my vote."

Qrow "He swayed Glynda? What do you mean protected that doesn't make any sense?"

Tai ``I don't know but he said I could pull them beacon and refuse to allow them to become huntresses and marry them off to farmers and they would be safe but they would hate me or I could allow them to attend beacon and he Glynda would protect them. I can't have my daughters hate me and I could never spoil their dreams so I have to allow them to go to Beacon. I don't know what he said or did to Glynda but she is on team Luffy."

Qrow "I couldn't have made that decision but I believe you made the right one. Do you think he will mention the war to come in class?"

Tai "I know Ozpin won't. I don't know he strikes me as a guy who doesn't hide information unless he has to."

They tell the girls about the new combat teacher who will be helping Miss Goodwitch and that they have to behave themselves and listen to what he has to say as he is the best in the world brought in special. They don't really understand why they had to be told this but accept the information without any real issue.

Qrow "When the girls go to Beacon I will be heading off as well. I have a personal mission I have to take care of."

Tai "Just be safe the girls are just getting to see a new you I don't want them to lose that."

Qrow "I will"

Eternal Luffy

We will be skipping ahead here past initiation just assume everything went as it did in the show that way I don't have to write it out. The next important event is Combat class so that's where we are going to jump ahead to.

The whole school is talking about the new combat instructor and the radical way he teaches how it is so out of the ordinary and very taxing. This has RWBY very worried as they head to class Ruby and Yang having shared their dad's words with the team. When they get there they are surprised to see no desks, no seats, just a big empty arena with two teachers in the middle, one they recognize as Miss Goodwich and the other is a total unknown.

Luffy "I am glad everyone made it here as you can see you will have 2 combat instructors this year. My name is Monkey D. Luffy but you WILL call me Luffy and nothing else. Combat class will be a bit different this year. You will be tested as teams and as individuals and graded accordingly. The team leader will get a whole letter grade below the lowest grade of any of their teammates as it is your job as leaders to elevate those around you. I will not here complaints or backtalk nor will I tolerate any discrimination of any kind. If I find you are breaking these rules you will be subject to my punishment and I have been cleared to do whatever I wish. For today we will be having a rather simple contest, every person is on their own in a battle royale using only your semblances. No weapons of any kind, if you brought your weapon return it to your locker now.'

Most of the class gets up and leaves some scared of this Luffy others simply confused. When they all return Glynda directs them to the ring and instructs them to activate their aura and then reminds them of the rules for this battle royal.

Luffy "I forgot the winner gets their choice of prizes valued from 0 to priceless. Begin"

This gets the whole class confused. Why would there be a prize for a classroom activity. They begin and most people are unsure of how to operate without a weapon and only their semblance. Weiss, Yang, Blake, Pyrah, Nora, Ren are all taking to it well enough Yang the best as she is brawl oriented already. It takes awhile but eventually it comes down to Pyrah and Yang while Pyrah's semblance has been mostly useless in this style of fight however due to being an expert fighter she is solid in hand to hand which is more than most of the people in the class. Yang is having the time of her life a massive brawl where she doesn't have to worry about weapons that's perfect for her and before she knows it it's her and Pyrah and Yang is about ready to use her semblance at max power she realizes though she doesn't need to if she can land a blow on Pyrah that would end the fight. She begins to approach Pyrah intent on ending the fight. Yang does indeed land the decisive blow and is declared the winner.

Luffy "Yang, Pyrah please stay after rest of you class dismissed."

With that everyone but Yang and Pyrah leave both curious why Pyrah was asked to stay.

Luffy``I'm sure you're wondering why you're both here. Now I want you to be honest with me as I know the answer already, did you lose on purpose Pyrah?"
Pyrah was stunned by the fact he could tell "The last thing I need is more people thinking I am special so yes I didn't dodge that last punch on purpose."

Yang is stunned by both the question and then Pyrah's response; she begins to feel not as good about her win.

Luffy "Fret no Pyrah in my class you like everyone else in here are nothing special. Perhaps by the end of your time here you will be but you are not right now. Yang don't feel bad you won fair and even if it wasn't in combat it matters not how you win only that you do besides if you would have waited until your semblance was ready she could not have avoided it and she could not have hurt your aura enough o cost you the fight before then so take heart in your victory. Now as for your prizes as I have decided you both are worthy of them I have a few things for you to pick from."

He walks to a chest in the back of the room and begins to pull things out. Among the items are copies of Usopp's drawings, A book detailing his life, a few strange seashell looking things and the helmet he wore in the coliseum. Once they are all on the table he allows them both to choose one item. Both girls are confused as to why they are choosing items and what said items are as they dont recognize some of them.

Yang "What are those seashells? Who is the artist here? A book about yourself really?"

Pyrah is examining the helmet while listening in on the questions asked.

Luffy "Those are dials, they do basically anything. Depending on what you want I will give you the proper dial. He was a man I considered a brother many years ago before he was taken from me. That book is not about combat instructor Luffy but rather the man I was before I became the man before you. It's an interesting tale full of pirates and bandits and all manner of what would be considered science. That helmet you're looking at is one I wore when I became a gladiator for a spell to rescue an item of immense importance to me. It allowed me to find a man I believed to be dead and save a whole kingdom from certain destruction."

Pyrah upon hearing this puts the helmet down not wanting to take something of that kind of sentimental value from Luffy and begins looking at the other items. Yang decides to take a dial.

Yang "Do you have one of these dials that does damage?"

Luffy "What you are looking for is called an impact dial it absorbs force and holds it to be released at a later time. Pyrah that helmet has served its purpose for me will not be worn again unless you take it. I pulled it out so that a worthy champion would have it. I am giving these to you so don't feel bad about taking the one you want."

Yang "That sounds awesome"

Pyrah keeps finding herself drawn to the helmet and after hearing Luffy's words decides to take it. Luffy hands Yang an impact dial and explains how to use it before walking over to Pyrah and asking to see her in the helmet. She obliges.

Luffy "Just as I thought, a perfect fit. You say you want to just be Pyrah not the invincible girl yet you wield the same weapons and wear the same armor. If you wish to distance the two I would suggest a few changes. You ladies and your teams are welcome to my office whenever you wish but tonight have a nice night and enjoy the gifts."

With that he dismisses both ladies and begins to put things in his chest again. Glynda walks over and after hearing everything he said to the girls asks to read that book. Luffy smiles and hands it over. "Be warned I did not write it and you might find yourself not wanting to finish it but if you begin it I do ask you finish it."

Glynda isn't sure what to make of that but promises to finish it. With that they go their separate ways, Luffy to think about the next step in training and Glynda to do some reading.

Eternal Luffy

Teams RWBY and JNPR were waiting for their missing members to return, talking about what these prizes could have been. It's then that Yang and Pyrah walk in.

Ruby "So tell us what were these prizes that you got to pick from?"

Yang "They were a strange selection to be sure there was art and a book, some magic seashells and a helmet. I picked what is called an impact dial. It is supposed to absorb and then release waves of kinetic energy."

Pyrah smiling "I picked a helm once worn by Luffy himself when he was a gladiator or so he says though the story sounds far too fantastic to be true. He also gave me some advice"

Nora "Yang can you show us what your does?" she is way to excited

Yang "Perhaps tomorrow I don't want to destroy the dorm if it does something bad."

With that everyone shifts their attention to Pyrah and her helm. They are amazed by its design and the fact it appears to be made of gold.

Ruby "Put it on, let us see you in it."

Pyrah smiles and dons the helm and the whole group is amazed it's almost as though it were made for her. Her flowing red hair falling out the back while protecting her whole head but highlighting her face. The spikes don't look goofy or menacing but rather fitting. The red main just so happens to be the same color as her hair and gives the appearance of her putting hair through the top. It's about as far from the Invincible Girl as it gets.

Weiss "So are you going to use it?"

Pyrah "I haven't decided yet. After I took it he gave me some advice and I have to think on it alone before I decide."
