N/So, the Characters and their universe don't belong to me, but this is an idea, and what a crazy idea, but come on. There will be divergences in the canon and so on. I wait you like it, if not, that's fine. Thanks anyway for taking the time to read my fanfic. so the fanfic center is obviously Viktor (best arcane character *cough cough. In my humble opinion of course ;)
The fanfic takes place well before episode 5 ok?
And sorry if I got a word wrong. English is not my first language and here when they dub episodes, they change some names. For example.
In English, Piltover's guards are called executioners, whereas in Portuguese they are called defenders. And Undercity(Zaun) is called the periphery. I think the translation changes a little according to each language it is dubbed. If there's a wrong name, let me know, ok?
Viktor stared at the boot for a while.
It was white, with thick golden lines running down. There were other lines right in the middle, only glass, strong enough to withstand the discharge of energy from the small Hextech crystal.
Viktor heard the door open and looked over his shoulder to see who had arrived. It was counselor Mel Medarda. She looked a little confused and looked around. "Oh, I'm sorry to barge in like that. I was looking for Jayce."
Viktor shook his head. "It's alright. He's taking care of the hex portals. If you want to wait for him, feel free. He should be here soon." He replied, gesturing to a chair and his gaze straying to Hextech's slender boot.
He had to calculate everything in perfect condition. He felt Mel's presence beside his as she approached with calm steps, glancing curiously at her tall boot with glass lines, "Is this a new Hextech project?"
"Oh yes, I'm trying to make a kind of Hextech prosthesis. I thought it could help people with difficulties like me who have physical disabilities. It's a sketch, but as you can see, it's working well." Viktor takes the boot and puts it on. on the foot. A blue glow appears in the lines that run down the boot, energized by a small Hextech crystal, much smaller than those ordered previously. He gets up and takes a few steps to the side, without limping.
Mel looks at the boot with an impressed look. "Ingenious, and quite altruistic too." she looks at him with a smile.
Viktor smiles a little, although in his mind he's pretty cautious. He knows how much influence Mel has on the board and how… manipulative she can be. He realized this after a while observing some of her interactions with other people.
"I just hope this can be useful for the Undercity ones as well. There are a lot of people in need of help there."
Mel looks thoughtful. "I don't know if it's possible. You know how things are over there. They're getting wilder," Mel comments, her gaze going to her Hextech boot and not noticing Viktor's look of outrage.
Viktor steps forward. "They're not at fault. What's happening is our fault, my fault and Jayce's. We created Hextech."
Mel looks up at him, her startling gaze softening and Viktor's angry look waning a little. "It's not your fault. It wasn't you or Jayce's fault that the Hextech crystal was stolen, it's the fault of those who do it and want to use it as a weapon."
Viktor's expression hardens.
"I know that. But we created it. It's our responsibility."
"Regardless of that, I think we may have to take drastic measures to keep this from getting out of hand."
Viktor frowned. " What do you mean ?" He asks. She's not implying what he thinks she's implying, right?
Mel looks a little regretful. "I didn't mean it in such a cruel way. What I mean is that we might have to send enforcers to Undercity at some point in the future, and that might cause certain conflicts, but it's necessary. We need to find the crystal, or that of fact can become a real war. "
Viktor thinks about protesting for a moment but then lets out a weary sigh. "I know. I just…" he walks over to his chair and sits down, his back to Mel. "There are many families there too. Children and even babies, elderly people and many other good people too. They are innocent, they are not to blame for the actions of criminals." Viktor responds, turning to Mel.
Mel clenched her jaw, the words seem to have hit her. "I Know, but if we don't send enforcers, what else can we do? We can't just sit around and do nothing."
Viktor opens his mouth and closes it again, thinking. They may not need to send enforcers. Maybe Viktor can go there and try to find it himself, he knows Undercity, he knows people. Maybe his contacts can help. He gets to his feet and approaches Mel. "There's always an alternative." Mel's gaze softens a little, but there's still that determination there. "I know the situation is difficult, that we are all worried. But we must not let despair make us reckless."
"And what would be your alternative?" She asks, not thinking there can be another way, perhaps?
Viktor looks at the boot and then at her. "I am the alternative." He stands firm.
She blinks. "What ?"
He explains. "I can go to Undercity, I can talk to someone who might be able to help us find out who did this and if maybe I can catch those responsible."
"Do you have contacts in Undercity?" She frowned, more curious than suspicious.
"I'm from Undercity, so yes. I have contacts there." This information seems to have surprised her. Viktor found this strange. She did not know ?
"Oh." She looked a little guilty. "I'm sorry I said certain things I shouldn't have. I had no idea you were from there. Sorry, it must be hard for you with this whole situation." She replied, her gaze becoming more sympathetic.
"You have no idea." Viktor snorted, turning to the table with notebooks and papers scattered around. Did she really have no idea he was from Undercity? Viktor almost rolled his eyes. Of course not, I mean, what does a skinny cripple matter? Or maybe she paid attention to him, thanks to Hextech and Jayce, of course, but she hasn't found out about his origins yet. Perhaps that fact hadn't mattered until now. Placing his hands on the table, he looked over his shoulder at the woman. "I accept the apology. But on one condition."
"Condition?" She looks amused at the idea that he's proposing a condition for the apology. Viktor can't help but smile, in fact he's kind of joking, but what he's going to say next is more serious.
He turns to her and sees her raise an eyebrow, a curious smile on her lips. "I'll accept your apology if you'll give me three months to find the crystal." He says, a serious look on her face.
She frowned a little. "That would have to be discussed by the council, it's not just up to me, you know. But a lot of members are considering it, I don't know if I can convince them otherwise."
Viktor chuckled, a knowing look on her face.
"We both know that's not true. The Council doesn't have a certain leader, but they consider your opinion very highly. What you propose, most of them accept without any objection." He walks over to her.
"It's my condition."
She looks at him for a moment, seeming to scan him up and down quickly and then meet her eyes. A smile still on her lips, "And what exactly do I get for that? What you're asking me is something quite risky. How do I know you haven't failed?"
Viktor is a little surprised by the response. She was very direct there. He figured she would say something more indirect, but that was okay.
"I guarantee that, personally. You can place all responsibility for this request on my shoulders if it goes wrong."
She narrows her eyes, a serious expression taking over her face and the smile fading. "Are you willing to take the blame if the crystal is used to create something destructive and dangerous? You know this could turn out really bad for you, right? In a lot of ways. Even Jayce can't help you with this if you fail." She warns.
Viktor nodded without thinking. "Yes. It's my people. I don't want any more deaths anywhere. I don't care what price I have to pay."
She looks a little impressed. "You have a deal." She says, her gaze on his. "You'll have a month to find a solution, but I don't know if it's safe for you to go there without guards, whether from Undercity or not."
"It almost looks like you care." Mel raises an eyebrow but Viktor ignores it. "I'll go back and forth quickly, I just need to talk to a few people and the problem will be solved. You'll see."
She looks at him for a moment. Viktor couldn't help but feel a little shy because of that look, it was like she was curious, like she'd never seen him before.
"Hmm… if you say so. I hope you're right, and successful. I'm betting on you, Viktor." She turned to leave the room and stopped at the door, looking at him over her shoulder. " Do not let me down." She asks.
Viktor nodded, his determined gaze brought a smile to Mel's face and then she left the room.
