Now then on with the show this is chapter 10
My Hero Academia Sara Gaiden
Gael Montenessios
"The first match will be between Gael Montesinos and Ken Smoke playing the role of the hero against Ollie O'Keily playing the role of the villain" Ice called out to the class
Gael grinned excited at being one fo the first to go head to head with one of the seniors if he remembered right Ken was the massive guy with light grey skin and protruding teeth he was a nice guy who looked like an orc off the set of Lord of the Rings only with a pair of glasses and a black bandana keeping his hair out of his face killing the look
Searching around Gael found Ken standing near the back dressed in a purple spandex suit with white boots and gloves it was much more colorful then Gael's costume which was mostly black and padded save for the grey area aroud his abdomen
But Gael had been more focused on stealth then making a flashy costume when he had sent in his costume submission but Gael wasn't a six foot seven wall of muscle like Ken so stealth was a bit of a priority
Gael went over to speak to his partner "good to work with you amigo" Gael said politely holding out his hand to shake
Ken looked down at Gael his massive hand enveloped Gaels up to the wrist as they shook "let's do our best"
Gael liking his partners attitude nodded in agreement "we won't just do our best amigo we're going to win"
The two walked over to Ice who gave them each a roll of capture tape that they could wrap around the 'Villains' wrist to capture them communication devices so they could stay in touch with each other and schematics for the building
"The villain will have five minutes to place Charlie where ever he wants in the classroom along along with set up any kind of defensive measures" Ice instructed "use this time well and come up with a plan"
Gael and Ken both nodded as they walked over towards the entrance of the building to strategize
Ollie O'Keily
"There ya are gent" Ollie said placing Charlie and his chair in a corner room on the third floor patting the mannequin on the shoulder looking around this was the best place to plan an ambush against the wee little freshmen the room Ollie had chosen was the farthest away from the stairs even if they decided to come up here first Ollie would be waiting to ambush them
No matter who they sent to fight Ollie would come out ahead
In his ear Ollies communicator turned on
"Ollie this is Mr. Roosevelt please respond" Highrises voice rang in his ear for the communication test
Ollie tapped the device "aye Mr. R I hear ya loud and clear" Ollie responded back with his admittedly thick Irish accent
"Too bad we can't say the same" Ollie's classmate Ajay faintly said before he was no doubt cuffed on the back of the head likely by Dawn
Aye now she was the kind of lass that you brought home to meet yer mother if there ever was one Miss. Juniper as well though she was sweet on a lad back home in Nevada she was
Ah well ye can't win them all
"Alright Ollie your five minutes of prep time are up" Highrise said
"Copy that Mr. A" Ollie said signing off he smiled flexing his shoulders he got ready for his first scrap in the good old U S and a A
Ollie couldn't help but grin
This was going to be amazing
Ken Smokes
Once the five minutes were up Ken and Gael ran into the building their strategy based on what limited information they had about their opponent was a simple one Gael would use his quirk to pinpoint the locations of Charlie the 'hostage' and the 'villain' Ollie O'Keily from there they would proceed to rescuing the hostage
Ken watched as Gael closed his eyes stomping his foot

Quirk Seismic Sense
Through slight contact with the ground Gael can sense the vibrations through the ground
Gael frowned opening his eyes "he ain't here"
"Weren't you able to find the hostage" Ken asked confused Gael shook his head
"No the hostage is right up on the third floor but I can't find the villain he's gone" Gael explained frustrated it was clear that Gael didn't know how their opponent was able to hide himself from Gaels quirk
'Perhaps was some sort of flight quirk or a shape shifting quirk" Ken suggested Gael instead of answering had run off into the hallways
"Gael wait" Ken called trying to chase after his wayward partner
As he continued running through the building Ken tried repeatedly to get in touch with Gael with the communicator but nothing happened
"Ken this is Mr. Sharp Gael has been captured" Mr. Sharp's voice answered "this means you're on your own"
Ken stopped halfway up the stairs Gael had been captured
This did not bode well not only did Ollie have a quirk that rendered him undetectable to Gael's quirk
And he likely used some sort of sneak attack to capture his teammate when he was alone
Ken couldn't make an accurate deduction there were so many different kinds of quirks out there in the world and Ollie was no doubt well trained in how to use his quirk to its full potential
Ken cautiously marched up the steps he'd have to be on his guard
Once Ken reached the second floor he looked around seeing no sign of Ollie he moved on halfway through the room Ken found a familiar looking pair of black escrima sticks on the floor It took a moment but Ken remembered where he'd seen them before
These were Gaels
Which meant this was where he had run into Ollie Ken picked up the sticks holding them both in one hand he put them in a pocket on his suit Ken looked around hoping for some sort of clue on Ollies quirk and how he'd so quickly defeated Gael
All he saw was a empty room and a visible trail of air coming from the vent
WAIT A MINUTE
Ken brought his arms up to block as a cloud of gas flew at Ken a fist impacted against his arms Ken pushed his arms forward but there was no impact as if Ken was fighting a ghost
Ollie laughed behind him Ken turned swinging his arm in a hammer fist hitting nothing again
Ken looked around not seeing any sign of Ollie

Quirk Gas
Ollie can transform his body into a cloud of gas making him immune to attacks
But to do any attacks himself he has to transform that body part back to a solid form
"I've gotta hand it to ya yer doin much better then yer wee little friend and his escrima sticks" Ollie complimented with a heavy Irish accent his voice coming from all around Ken the boy from Ohio had no idea where the 'villain' laughed his voice echoing around coming from everywhere
Where was he
Ken needed to come up with a plan and fast
"Highland fogs" Ollies voice echoed around the room before Ken was blinded by a cloud of gas swirling around him a fist came out of the smoke hitting him in the stomach Ken tried to grab onto the arm but it vanished back into the gas
Ken picked a direction trying to escape the gas a leg hit him in the side followed up by an uppercut to the chin that lifted Ken off of the ground landing with a thundering crash
"Yer defense is a little shaky" Ollie critiqued
Another series of punches hit Ken in the side before Ken could even bring up a defense
"Come on now I'm even leaving fer ya instead of just using the capture tape like on the hot head" Ollie continued hitting him again
A kick to the small of Ken's back
'An opening' Ken thought bringing himself to his feet looking around
What was he talking about
Rozu Tanaka
Ken wasn't the only one trying to figure out what Ollie meant by an opening
The telekinetic archer stared at the screen while behind her classmates were commenting about the fight playing on the screens
Loudly
"Great job losing to an Irish fart" August mocked Gael
"He caught me by surprise that's all" Gael said in his defense not a very good defense though in a two on one battle a sneak attack was an excellent strategy to use especially if your quirk wasn't combat oriented
"That makes it worse" August said as he started to laugh at Gael
Rozu was trying to do her best to tune out her feuding classmates but they simply got louder "well at least I didn't lose to a monkey" Gael mocked louder
"Gorilla" Leo corrected
"Potato pohtato" Gael said angrily "I might have lost but at least Ollie was trying when he beat me"
'That was the bad thing to say' Rozu thought turning away from the test already readying her quirk to save Gael before he did something else stupid she could see August's fists were clenched tightly around his weapons
She refused to call them support items they were weapons
'Why would a school even give support items like that' she thought
"That's enough boys" Ice said coldly the room suddenly felt much colder to everyone but the teachers Mr. Sharp was now standing between the two boys "August if you want a fight so badly you'll get your chance soon enough"
August looked from the teachers to Gael before he backed out "fine" he said dismissively walking away "a weakling like him wouldn't put up much of a fight anyway"
"Want to say that again" Gael demanded still angry
"Enough Gael" Mr. Sharp "picking a fight with August won't change the fact that you underestimated your opponent and lost the exercise"
Rozu watched the anger leave Gael and he looked down ashamed Mr. Sharp looked to the others in the room "let's get back to watching the exercise"
Ken Smokes
Think Ken think swatting at the air hitting nothing
What did Ollie mean another punch hitting him on the opposite side
What did he mean
"Attention Ken you have one minute remaining" Mr. Sharp said
One minute he only had one minute left and still Ken was making no headway against Ollie
"Wow time flies when you're having a good scrap" Ollie said his voice coming from all around Ken "this has been real fun mate but its time to end this"
This was it Kens first step towards being a hero was going to end in a crash and burn
"We're so proud of you Ken" his mom said with a smile
Why was he thinking about that day now
"We're so proud of you Ken" his mom had told him when he'd gotten his acceptance letter to Hamilton High his older brother was also smiling
"Of course you got in they'd be crazy not to let you in" his brother had said "with your crazy smarts matched with your quirk you'll be an amazing hero"
That's right Ken was here he got into Hamilton High his dream school because of his smarts he was going to find a way out of this
Ken went over the facts Ollie clearly had a transformation quirk one that let him turn into a gaseous form that explained why he was immune to Gael's seismic sense he was able to turn into a corporeal form to attack and back into gas which provided him a defense against Kens attack
Wait a moment gas
That was the answer
It was time to end this
Ken brought his arm up clenching his hand into a fist as two hands appeared out of the gas holding the capture tape
"ORC" Ken cried out slamming his hand down as fast as he could at the floor before Ollie could restrain him
"Punch" he cried out slamming the floor the resulting shockwave dispersed the gas which formed into a single person standing at perhaps five foot four sitting down against a wall

Quirk Orc
Straight out of Tolkien Ken was born with all the strength and endurance of an Orc
The first thought when Ken saw him was Irish Pride his costume was a body suit with a cowl and domino eyes the color of Irelands flag a gas mask over his mouth and nose
The domino eyes of Ollies mask widened as Ken charged before his Irish upperclassman could react Ken had wrapped the capture tape around his hands
"The Hero team wins" Mr. Sharp's voice said over the intercoms "both teams report outside for briefing"
Ollie turned his hands into gas unbinding himself from the capture tape he reached up taking down his mask revealing a freckled face with royal purple eyes and curly red hair matted with sweat
"Ah congratulations Ken" Ollie congratulated him with a big grin on his face "I thought I had yeh until the end there"
"So you stayed in your gas form on purpose" Ken asked
Ollie nodded "aye that I did me gas form is good fer moving about stealthily and obscuring me enemies line of vision but it ain't too good fer long term combat like we did today" he explained "so I kept to me gas form as long as I could to see if ye and yer friend could solve it"
Ollie shook his head "yer partner's a bit too impulsive so I caught him and I waited" Ollie explained while they walked down the stairs
Ken nodded that seemed to be the case for Gael
"And you did this why" Ken asked Ollie the Irish accented boy shrugged
"Well what's the point of being in a school if ya don't learn anything" Ollie said "all us seniors who started here at Hamilton went through the same first lesson and the seniors then tested them too some won some lost but either way they learned somethin bout themselves from it" Ollie looked to Ken
"Do ya feel like ya learned somethin"
Ken thought about and he nodded "yeah I feel like I did"
Ollie nodded with a grin on his face as they walked outside Ollie looked up at Ken giving him a salute and a grin
"It was certainly a good scrap Ken if ya ever want a rematch come find me" Ollie then held out his hand
Ken looked down at it and nodded shaking Ollies hand
"I think I will"
The two walked away going back to their respective classes
The battle trial for Ken was done and it was the hardest fight Ken's ever been in throughout his short life and that made him think
About how wide the gap really was between Ken's class hadn't started training and those who were going through their final lessons to become pro heroes
Ken wondered what the rest of the class would be capable of
And there we go the first battle is done with a win for the heroes by the skin of Ken's protruding orc teeth
