Chapter 2

Twenty-one years later

Fifi was outside playing basketball with Alice as their brother commentated on their game in the style of a nineteen-sixty sports commentator. Fifi was now twenty-five years old and had been practicing basketball at least once a week and was now very good at the sport, but she still felt that she needed to be perfect. Alice who was now twenty-eight years old she had been studying computer programing and now worked for a company that developed software. She enjoyed playing basketball with her sister as it was lots of fun and help her although it did annoy her how Robert would put on a commentator's voice when he watched.

"And Fifi has taken the ball from Alice she shoots, she scores and the crowd goes wild. Alice is going to have up her game if she wants to win." Robert shouted. He was now twenty-four years old and had been practicing doing voices for several years.

"Well, I do better if you didn't do that voice." Alice said walking over to her brother.

"Would you prefer it if I commentated on the game in this voice, doc?" he asked in a Bugs Bunny voice.

"I would prefer it if you did it in your normal voice."

"Why would I do that? After all only the star-like me could do this job." he said in a Daffy Duck voice.

Alice glared causing Robert to feel uneasy. "I'll do in my normal voice." he said.

"Thanks, broth." Alice said, then walked back to her sister, who was looked at the net.

"Do you think that shoot was good enough?" Fifi asked.

"It went through the hoop didn't it?" Alice asked.

"Yay, but do you think it would be good enough for professional basketball?" Fifi asked.

"Of course it was." Alice said.

"Are you sure?" the younger sister said.

"Yeah. In fact, I think you should try out for the Tigers." the older sister said.

"Really?" Fifi asked.

"Of course." Alice said.

"I think you're good enough for big leagues." Robert said.

"Thanks, Rob." Fifi said.

"By the way, what are you two doing tomorrow?" Alice asked.

"Nothing." her brother and sister said.

"Well Selzer Inc is holding a presentation of their newest software programs. You guys want to come?" Alice asked

"Sure." Robert said.

"Ok, what time does it start?" Fifi asked.

"Eleven o'clock. I'll pick you up at ten-thirty." Alice said.

"Great. See you two then tomorrow." Fifi said.

"Bye." her siblings said. They left the basketball court and made their way home to their respective homes. None of them could have guessed what would happen tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in Tunes world, Katherine, who was now twenty-one years old and wearing a purple shirt with a light blue skirt. She was hanging out with her best friends Sarah Leghorn, Starlett Webster, and Tara Pie at Maltese's café. Unlike the other tunes about her age, Katherine hadn't left Tunes world to explore the other world in the Serververse.

"So how have you guys been?" Katherine asked.

"Great me and Tara have done several missions. We just help stop Dr. Evil from trying to blow up London." Starlett said. She was a twenty-four-year-old redhead who wore a pink dress. She was an excellent fighter, ever since she was ten she wanted to be a spy and now worked for the British Ministry of Defence in the Austin Powers world. Her grandmother was Emma Webster, who had sadly passed away a few years ago.

"We kicked his evil butt," Tara said. She was a small Yellow canary and was two years younger than Starlett. Tara had been friends with Starlett ever since she was little.

"Indeed with did. You should consider coming to visit someday." Starlett said before taking a sip of her coffee.

"I'll think about." Katherine said.

"I think you should. You'll joy it." Tara said.

"I don't know." the rabbit replied.

"Well, you'll never know if you never try." Sarah said. Sarah was tall, white chicken. She was a year younger than Starlett and was very friendly. She had been living in the Wacky Races world with Bea Dawg.

"She's right you know." Tara said whilst she finished her last biscuit.

"And there is one world I know your love." Starlett said.

"Which one?" asked Katherine.

"DC." answered the redhead with a sly smile.

"We're just friends." Katherine said.

"Sure. You and Chuck are just friends." Tara said.

"We are." the rabbit said.

"Oh come Katie, we all know how you look Chuck." Sarah said. Katherine rolled her eyes.

"Can we please change the subject?" Katherine asked.

In another part of town, Chuck Duck was with his friends Sylvester. Jr, Tim Wolf, and Sid Sheepdog at Foster's Bowl O'Rama.

"Strike." Chuck said. He was a year younger than Katherine and had yellow feathers and wore a blue shirt. He had gone to DC world to clear the name of Superduck after his father had ruined it.

"Man, I've missed this." Sylvester. Jr said. He was the oldest of the new generation of Tunes at age twenty-five. He looked nearly identical to his father, with the only difference being he had longer hair than his dad.

"Bet your glad to get away for Penny?" Sid said. He was a large, white, and yellow sheepdog with short red hair on his head. He was twenty-three years old.

"You can say that again. She's nice but she really needs to learn about personal boundaries." the cat said. He and Penny Le Pew had been living in the Casablanca world.

"By the way Chuck, how are Jim and Rita?" asked Tim as he picked up a ball to knock the pins down. He was a tall, brown wolf who looked similar to his father, but with a blue nose. He was the same age as Sid.

"They're doing fine but they kept arguing who's better at saving the cities for the three weeks." Chuck said.

"The other heroes were annoyed by this as well I take it?" Tim asked as throw the ball and getting his fifth strike in a row.

"That's the understatement of the year. They managed to annoy at least one hero every week. They only stop after Batman and Superman paired them with two other heroes. Now they get along well and only tease each other." Chuck said as Sid throw his ball, knocking down the pins and getting his fifth strike as well.

"Well good to know." Tim said.

"By the way, did ask Katherine if she would like to be in DC world again?" Sid asked the duck.

"I um, haven't seen her yet. You so much to do so little time." Chuck said nervously.

"Sure lover duck." the cat said as he threw the ball, but he only knocked down one pin.

"We're just friends."

"Right, friends." Tim said sarcastically as Sid chuckled. Chuck just rolled his eyes.

"Can we get back to the game, please?" the duck said.

As the clock struck eleven, the young Tunes were saying goodbye to their parents before they headed home in Eric the Martian's spaceship. Katherine came to say farewell to her friends. Chuck saw her and decided to ask her if she would like to come with him. He took a deep breath and walked over to her.

"Hey, Katherine." he said nervously.

"Oh hi, Chuck." Katherine said equally nervous. "Long time no see."

"Yeah." he replied.

"So how's the hero business going." she asked.

"Good. A little dangerous but good." Chuck said. "How are your parents?"

"Good. Looney but good." she said.

There was a moment of silence as both were unsure what to say to each other next. Finally Chuck asked the question

"I was wondering... if you would... like to come with me."

Katherine looked away, not wanting to tell him no.

"I understand." he said "Maybe next time I visit we can hang out together."

"Y-yeah, we can do that." she said.

"Chuck." a voice called. It was his mother, Tina. She and Daffy had come to say goodbye to their son.

"I got go. It was nice talking to you." Chuck said, waving goodbye to Katherine as he made his way to his parents.

"It was nice talking to you as well." she said waving goodbye before she left to go home.

Chuck hugged his mum and dad before making his way to the ship. Eric looked at Chuck in a way that asked "She's not coming." to which the duck replied by giving a silent nodded before taking his seat.

"Goodbye, father." Eric said. He wore a red helmet and white framed glasses.

"Goodbye son." Marvin said just as the door of the ship closed. The ship blasted off.

Katherine looked back as the ship left the world's orbit. She signed before she continued to walk, looking down as she did so.

Bugs was reading a book called "1001 grand canyon jokes" whilst Lola was practicing basketball outside. When Katherine came through the back gate.

"Hey sweetie, how was day." Lola asked, catching the ball as she did so.

"It was good mum." Katherine said.

"So what did you and friends get up to?" her mother asked, walking with her daughter into their house.

"We just went to the cafeteria," she said.

"Hey, Katie. Good day, today?" Bugs asked putting down the book.

"It was good dad." Katherine said.

"So did you talk to Chuck?" Bugs asked.

"A little." Katherine said.

"You ok sweetie? You sound a little upset." Lola asked her daughter.

"I'm fine mum." Katherine said.

"You're sure? Because if there's something wrong we can talk about it." her mother said.

"No everything fine. Just... fine." Katherine said trying to hide the sadness in her voice.

"Ok um... Would you like to watch The world of Jones? I know how much you like those crazy joke. Then again I don't know anyone that doesn't like. Have asked someone "Do you like The Wild world of Jones? and they say no way I don't like the Jones. It's a great show." Lola said. Bugs let out a small laugh.

"Maybe tomorrow mum. Night" Katherine said before she went upstairs to her bedroom. Lola made her way to the sofa and sat next to Bugs.

"Do you Chuck asked the question?" Bugs asked his wife.

"If he did Daffy would be ranting for about two hours." Lola said.

"I meant about..." Bugs said.

"Maybe. I just don't understand why she doesn't what to go outside Tune world." Lola said.

"Well, I didn't what to leave when Al-G offered it to us." Bugs.

"But that's different Bugs. Al-G wanted to split us and the other Tunes up. Katherine has the choice to live anywhere in the Serververse that doesn't have to do with the evil plans of a criminal algorithm."

"I didn't know why ever. I mean all her friends live outside Tune world, she's herself when she's with them and Al-G is gone for good. So I don't see why she don't what to go with them."

"Talk to her about it in the morning." Lola said as she got off the sofa.

"Good idea." said Bugs as he left the sofa and he and Lola made their way to bed.

Katherine was lying on her bed, looking at a picture of her and the other descendants of the Looney Tunes. Tears fell from her eyes as she silently wished she had the confidence to do what they did.
