Chapter 5
Computer Problems
Fifi, Alice, and Robert were driving to the presentation in Alice's car. Alice was wearing a light blue suit and trousers, Fifi was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans and Robert was wearing a red t-shirt that had pictures of the Looney Tunes on it.
"So what's this new software for?" Fifi asked.
"You'll see." Alice said.
"Are you presenting it?" Fifi asked.
"I'll be part of it but the main person hosting it is Greg." Alice said.
"So what is it you're going to talk about then?" Fifi asked.
"About what's left to work on." Alice said. She looked in the view mirror and rolled her eyes at Robert's choices of clothing.
"What?" Robert asked.
"Did you have to wear that t-shirt?" Alice asked.
"What's wrong with it?" Robert asked.
"Well, we going to a presentation and you're wearing a t-shirt with Bugs Bunny on it." Alice said.
"And that's bad because?" Robert asked.
"Because that not something you wear to a business presentation." Alice said.
"It's fine, just remember to wear something more appropriate in the future ok Robert." Fifi said.
"Fine." Robert said rolling his eyes.
Fifi smiled at her siblings. She usually acted as the peacekeeper between them. Often having to stop Alice from exploding in anger from Robert's antics.
They arrived and made their way to the room where the presentation was being held. There were several people all wearing normal shirts of different colors and grey trousers.
"Hi, Greg." Alice said.
"Hello, Alice." Greg said. The two shock each other's hands.
"Greg, this is my sister Fifi and this is my brother Robert." Alice said as she introduced her siblings to Greg.
"It's a pleasure to met you two." Greg said.
"It's a pleasure to met you as well." Alice.
"Hi." Robert said.
Meanwhile, inside the computer, Orde-ly and her assistants had arrived back in time for the presentation.
"Jessie. Show the Tunes where they'll be staying until the presentation is over." the head of the software said.
"Yes ms." Jessie said. She took the sheet to where a small cell was. Then she pressed the names on the sheet and one by one the Tunes appeared in the cell.
"Alright, what's going on? Where are we?" Bugs, the last of the Tunes to appear, demanded.
"Yeah, wh-wh-wh-what's going on?" Porky asked in an angry tone.
"What's, I say what's the big idea kidnapping us?" Foghorn shouted.
"I'm sorry it wasn't my decision." Jessie said.
"I don't care who's idea it was. I demand that you take us back." Daffy said.
"I promise you will be returned after Orde-ly re-programming you." Jessie said.
"She not we-pwogwaming me." Elmer said.
"That goes for me as well." Wile E said as the Roadrunner stuck out his tongue with an angry expression on his face.
"I know none of you want this." Jessie said genuinely.
"Of course not ya idiot!" Yosemite Sam shouted.
"No, I understand. I don't like it either." Jessie said. "But my boss wants it and her word is final."
"Can't you change her mind?" Lola asked.
Jessie was about to answer until she heard Orde-ly call her name.
"I have to go. I'm sorry." Jessie said in a sad tone of regret. She went back to her back leaving the Tunes stuck in their cell alone.
Back in the real world, Fifi and Robert had taken their seats as the presentation began.
"Ladies and gentlemen." Greg started. "I am happy to announce our newest software, Orde-ly." he pointed as the blue and yellow logo came onto the screen.
"This program will help make sure that movies, tv shows, video games, and more will be safe to show to the public." he said.
As he continued, Orde-ly and her assistants watched from inside.
"Everything seems to be going well." Polly said.
"Excellent." Orde-ly said.
After Greg had finished, some of the people who had worked on it began to talk about what they had done to make the software work. Then it was Alice's turn to speak.
"Hello my name is Alice Freleng and my job is to make sure that there are no bugs in the software." she said.
"What does she mean by bugs?" Terry asked.
"Not sure." Perry said.
"The program has passed nearly every test. The only left to do is to make it less sensitive." Alice said.
Orde-ly's right eye twitched in annoyances as her face showed a neutral expression.
"Could please clarify what you mean by that?" a voice from the audience asked.
"Sometimes Orde-ly will decide that something is unsuitable when it is not." Alice answered.
Orde-ly's face turned red and her expression turned angry. Jessie, Jack, Steve, Polly, Josie, Terry, and Perry, slowly back away.
"Too sensitive?" Orde-ly said in an angry tone. "How can she say that?" She pulled out a file that had all the employee's names on it and found Alice's name.
"Alice Freleng." Orde-ly said. "Well, I guess she'll come and give us a visit." she said with a smirk.
After the presentation ended, Alice offered her brother and sister to show them around. As she did, Orle-ly watched them from the security cameras waiting for the moment to strike.
Alice, Fifi, and Robert then made their way into a room where several computers were used to debug software.
"Welcome to my workspace." Alice said as she lead her siblings into the room. When the door closed Orde-ly locked it.
"So how does this work?" Robert asked.
"Watch and I'll show you." Alice said to sit in her chair. She began to type in the code into the computer to debug the software. But when she was done nothing happen.
"That odd." Alice said. She was about to type in the code again when the screen suddenly went blank.
"You got to be kidding me." Alice said in a slightly angry tone.
"Maybe you accidentally typed in the wrong code." Fifi said.
"Fifi, I've typed this code in for two weeks now. I think I'd know if I did it wrong." Alice shout. As the two argued, blue letters appeared on the screen that said "WELCOME, MS. FRELENG.
"Guys, I think it's coming back on." Robert said.
The two sisters looked at the screen as a blue light appeared.
"Is it support to do that?" Fifi ask.
Just before Alice could answer, there was a blue flash, and the three disappeared from the room.
They reappeared inside a blue digital world. Fifi and Robert were standing whilst Alice was on the floor due to her chair not being there.
"Where are we?" Alice asked as she got up.
"I think we inside the computer." Robert said.
"That ridiculous. How can we be inside a computer?" Fifi said.
"That would be because of my." a voice said.
They looked around to see where the voice was coming from. Then Orde-ly appeared in front of them, spooking them as she did so.
"Who...Who are you?" Fifi asked.
"I am Orde-ly. The main head of this place and the software." the greyed-dressed woman said.
The siblings looked at each other in shock and confusion, thinking that this woman was insane.
"Ok, um it's very nice to meet you." Fifi said nervously. She held out her hand to shake Orde-ly's, but the computer being just stared at her.
"Any way you must be Alice Freleng." Orde-ly moving over to the oldest sibling.
"How do you know my name?" Alice asked in a worried tone.
"Alice we've been working together for years." Orde-ly said.
"I'm begging to think that she is the software." Robert whispered to his older sister.
"Clear boy." Orde-ly said. "Though your interests may be questionable." she said looking at his shirt.
"I told you not to wear that shirt." whispered Alice. Robert rolled his eyes.
"Anyway. I guess you're wounding why you're here." Orde-ly said.
"That would be nice to know." Fifi said.
"Well, I was watching the presentation and I hear Alice say I was too sensitive." Orde-ly said as Jessie appeared.
"Sorry about that, I just meant that you could be a little less strict." Alice said.
"Who are you?" Fifi asked the blonde woman.
"I'm Jessie. I help around here. It's a pleasure to meet you." Jessie said.
"We didn't have a choice." Robert said.
Jessie gave a guilty look as she spoke. "Sorry about that you see..."
"That's enough." Orde-ly said to her assistant then she turned her attention to the three people that she had brought into her world. "I don't care what you meant. The fact is you wanted to "fix" me and so you leave me no choice but to terminate you." she said.
"What?!" Robert and Alice said in horror.
"Ok, I don't know who you think you are but I'm calling the police." Fifi said taking her phone out of her left pocket and began to dial in the numbers when her phone disappeared.
"What the?" Fifi said in surprise. Robert and Alice searched their pockets only to discover that their phones had also disappeared.
"I think you're forgetting that I control this world." Orde-ly said. "As such, I have taken your mobile devices so that you can't call anyone."
"You can't do this."
"I can." Orde-ly said. Just as she was about to delete them Jessie stepped in front of her.
"Out of the way Jessie." Orde-ly demanded.
"You can't just delete them." Jessie said.
"I can and I will." Orde-ly said.
"You have to at least give them a chance." Jessie said.
"Who says?" Orde-ly said.
Jessie pulled out a rule book and showed her boss the page that said "All beings must have a chance to defend themselves, in any way they choose. If they fail then they can be deleted."
"Rules are rules Ms." Jessie said.
Orde-ly groaned. "Fine." she said bitterly. She then turned her attention to the three siblings. "How do you choose to defend yourselves?" she asked them.
The three thought a moment, then the idea popped into their heads. They looked at each other and nodded in agreement.
"We choose a game of basketball. Give us twelve hours to gather up a team to play against your team. If we win you let us go." Fifi said.
Orde-ly smirked. "Alright. But you can only have players from the world I choose. Deal." she said holding out her hand.
Fifi took a deep breath before she shook Orde-ly's hand. "Deal."
"It's been nice knowing you." Orde-ly said before she pushed the button that said Tunes World. The floor beneath the siblings disappeared and Alice, Fifi, and Robert fell through, then the floor reappeared.
"Oh, dear. I've just realized that I sent them to an empty world." Orde-ly said smiling evilly.
Meanwhile, Alice, Fifi, and Robert were falling through the Serververse scream as they did so. They passed several worlds including Harry Potter World, Wacky Races World, Flinstones, and many more. Then they fell into a cartoony-looking world and it the ground with a thud, causing a large dust cloud to appear. They had landed in Tunes World and little did they know the adventure that await them.
