"I… I want to be… a school Idol!"
Gloria couldn't believe she said that. Up until recently, she didn't even know what a school idol was! Now she was telling a real school idol she wanted to be one.
But there was no laughter. Gloria looked up from where she stood as saw Ami smiling at her. "You do huh?" She asked as Gloria blushed before nodding.
"Well in that case let me tell you something." She said as she walked closer to Gloria and bent down slightly.
"A school idol is someone who helps others smile." Was all she said as she leaned back and Gloria took a step back at the girl's actions.
"Help others smile…?" Gloria asked aloud as Ami nodded before going back to writing. She then walked up to Gloria and gave her the notebook back.
"Remember. An Idol is at her best when she has a team working with her. Get a group of friends and you'll find more success than if you tried to do everything on your own." Ami said before putting on her wig and sunglasses and walking off.
Gloria opened the notebook and read what was written before gasping.
To my future rival,
Gloria Shield
Ami Aiba
Next day
Rosa and Gloria were in Gloria's room talking when Gloria told Rosa about her encounter with Ami.
"No way! You met Ami Aiba and you got her autograph?! On top of that, she even encouraged you to become a school idol and called you her rival?!" Rosa cried as Gloria nodded before grabbing the notebook.
Rosa grabbed and read it before gasping. "This has got to be faked!" She cried as Gloria shook her head. "It's not! It's real I swear!" She cried as Rosa placed the notebook next to her.
"This is insane." Rosa breathed as Gloria laughed. "I agree. " She replied, rubbing the back of her neck.
"She told me I need to find a group who'd help me…" Gloria said as Rosa looked up at her. "That's gonna be hard. Outside of me, you have no friends." She said as Gloria slumped.
"You didn't have to say it like that…" Gloria said as Rosa laughed and patted her head. "Well, we already have two members. All we need is to find more members!" She said enthusiastically.
"Yaaay…" Gloria said before looking down. "Just gotta find multiple people that would like to be school idols…" She said,
"Well, nothing to it but to do it I guess. Let's ask around school tomorrow." Rosa said as Gloria nodded.
"Let's do it," Gloria said as Rosa laughed as she noticed her friend's nervousness. Little did Gloria know this was an exercise to help Gloria to be more willing to be around others.
"Let's make a list of who to avoid. Mostly people that are part of sports teams and people who are just… not people to hang out with…" Rosa said as Gloria nodded.
At School
Gloria walked around the school aimlessly. She had asked nearly everyone on her list(which was NOT easy) and so far everyone either wasn't interested or was a part of a different club. Seriously, how were there THAT many people in the chess club of all things?
Gloria kept walking around before she heard a melodic voice.
"Bask in all the glory! Time to tell our story!"
Gloria stopped dead in her tracks. That was Shining StarLight. Someone was listening to CYB3R!
Gloria walked towards the voice and peered inside to see a blue-haired girl singing her heart out to the song. All she had was the instrumental and was singing the lyrics perfectly.
"A shining beacon in the darkness, A ray of hope in the bleak! A great star so fine, I'll never be weak! Shining StarLight! Shining so bright! I keep the love in my heart to make sure everyone loves life!"
The girl stopped singing as Gloria had joined in and she turned red.
"W-w-who are you?!" She stammered as Gloria blushed herself. "Uhh sorry! I just heard you and… well… I just… sorry!" Gloria stammered back as the girl turned off the music.
"So you like CYB3R?" The girl asked as Gloria perked up. "Yes! I love them!" Gloria said before the girl was suddenly in her face.
"Oh you do huh?! Then what was their first song?!" She asked suddenly as Gloria was taken aback. "W-what?!" She cried.
"What was CYB3R's first song?!" She asked as Gloria froze. "Uhh I… don't really know!" She said as the blue-eyed girl scoffed. "It's called Pilot! Now what was the reference the name came from?!" She shot as Gloria's eyes whited out.
"Uhh because… they're in control?!" Gloria asked as the girl glared. "No! It's because it was their debut song and it came from what people call the first episodes of cartoons!" She said as Gloria was shaking with fear.
"Who is this girl?!" She cried in her head. "And the school they go to…" She was cut off by Gloria perking up. "Oh it's Kuremi High!" She said as the other girl smirked. "When was it founded?" She finished as Gloria once again was stunned.
"1932?" Gloria offered as the girl looked borderline offended. "Absolutely not! The great CYB3R would never go to some old forgotten school! It's only 3 years old!" The bluenette said as Gloria sweatdropped.
"Oh, hey Ria!" Rosa called as she saw Gloria in the room. Gloria turned towards her best friend and said only one thing. "Saaaave…. Meeee."
Rosa turned towards the blue-haired girl. "What's going on?" she asked as the girl turned away. "I was dealing with this fake CYB3R fan." She said as Rosa laughed.
"She's just new," Rosa said as the bluenette looked at her. "New huh? Well, I guess the fandom growing means more songs so…" She said as Gloria and Rosa looked at her like she had grown a third head.
"So did anyone say yes?" Rosa asked as Gloria perked up then slumped. "No, everyone was busy with something else…" She said,
Gloria grabbed her papers before an idea popped into her head. She then rushed towards the blue-eyed girl and their positions were reversed as Gloria got into her face.
"Hey, you like CYB3R right?!" She asked as the girl smirked. "Obviously!" she said as Gloria smiled.
"Then you like school idols right?!" Gloria asked as the girl nodded. "And you're pretty cute." She said as the blue-haired girl blushed. "R-really?" She asked as Gloria nodded. "Mmm Hm! And you have a great singing voice!" The girl was properly red now from the praise.
"Plus wouldn't you like to see CYB3R perform live?" Gloria asked as Rosa smirked, seeing what Gloria was doing.
The bluenette's eyes sparkled as she thought about what Gloria said. "Would I?! I'd love nothing more!" She said as Gloria smiled. "What about competing against them?" Gloria asked them as the girl's eyes widened. "W-what?" She asked.
Gloria then took a deep breath. "What I'm trying to say is… would you like to be a school idol?" She asked as the girl's eyes widened even further.
"Me… a school idol…?" The bluenette asked aloud as Gloria nodded. "I- I couldn't! I mean going against CYB3R?!" The girl said as Gloria's face fell.
"Alright… sorry for bothering you." She said as she walked towards Rosa.
"..." The bluenette shook as she watched Gloria's back.
"Wait!" She cried as Gloria and Rosa turned towards her. "Do you really think I can be a… school idol…?" she asked as Gloria turned and nodded.
"Yeah!" She cried as the girl looked down. "Then… I want to be a school idol!" She cried as Rosa smiled before walking up to her.
"Then welcome aboard!" She said as the girl smiled back.
"My name is Dawn Pearl by the way!" Dawn said as Gloria and Rosa smiled.
"My name is Gloria Shield! Nice to meet you!" She said as Rosa took a step back next to Gloria. "And I'm Rosa White." She said as Dawn shook their hands.
"Now what is our group called?" Dawn asked as Rosa and Gloria looked at each other before turning to Dawn.
"We didn't think that far…" Rosa said as Dawn fell over. "You didn't think of a name?! That is the most important thing for idols!" She cried.
"Well…" Gloria trailed off as he pushed her fingers together.
Later that day
Gloria sat at her desk with a bunch of words written into her notebook. The same notebook Ami had signed. It was full of ideas for the group name. She couldn't find one she really liked. Some time had gone by and she was still struggling for ideas.
She then opened her phone and watched YouTube for a while and eventually during her trek through the wormhole that is the YouTube recommendations she came across videos of people blowing things up with dynamite from afar. And that's when she got an idea.
Next day at school
Gloria ran through the halls and towards the room she met Dawn in and sure enough, the girl was still there.
"Dawn!" She cried as she raced in. The Blue-haired girl jumped in surprise as she turned around. "G-Gloria! Don't do that! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" She cried as Gloria rubbed the back of her neck. "My bad." She said with a laugh.
But she then pulled out her notebook and flipped through the pages before showing Dawn one. The word on it read "Dynalyte"
Dawn looked at her for a second before tilting her head. "What is it?" She asked as Gloria fell over. "It's our group name!" She cried as Dawn gave an "oh." In response.
"Not bad I guess… it's pretty unique…" She said as Gloria smiled. "I know right? I was watching youtube when I thought of it!" She said as Dawn smiled before changing her expression.
"A name fitting for my School Idol group!" She cried as Gloria sweatdropped. "What do you mean by YOUR School Idol group?" She asked as Dawn's expression once again changed to something closer to surprise as her eyes shot open.
"W-well since I'm the most experienced I should be the leader!" She stammered as Gloria stared at her deadpan.
"But it was Gloria's idea so shouldn't she be the leader?" A new voice joined the conversation.
Gloria and Dawn turned to see… "Rosa!" Gloria cried as she raced towards her friend and showed her the notebook. "Dynalyte huh?" She said as Gloria nodded.
"What does it mean?" Rosa asked. "It comes from how Dynamite blows up, kind of like what we wanna do with our group. Then I thought of light from fireworks and spelled it differently." Gloria explained as Rosa nodded.
"So the book that Ami signed is gonna be your idol book?" Rosa asked as Gloria nodded. "Felt appropriate." She replied as Dawn raced over to them. "D-d-d-d-d-did you say Ami signed that?!" She cried as it was Gloria and Rosa's turn to jump.
"Uhh Yeah," Gloria said as Dawn thrust her hand out. She handed the bluenette the notebook as she went to the first page and saw the signature.
Dawn then raced to her bag and pulled out a yellow and green laptop and started typing wildly and soon started to look at the screen then the book multiple times before she slumped down.
"It's an exact match… this is her handwriting…" Dawn said as Gloria and Rosa walked up to see that she had cross-referenced the autograph with her signature online.
Dawn then turned to Gloria with tears in her eyes before she grabbed the brunette's shoulders. "HOOOOOW?!" She cried as Gloria seemed shocked by the girl's rapid change of behavior.
"She even acknowledged you as her rival!" Dawn cried as Gloria smiled awkwardly. "I just bumped into her and wanted an autograph and then I told her I wanted to be a School Idol," Gloria said as Dawn stood up.
"Do you think you can match the expectations that come with being a rival to the greatest School Idol group CYB3R?" Dawn asked as Gloria nodded. "I'll do anything!" She said as Dawn's eyes widened.
"Well, then I guess that's that." She said as she walked past the two girls. "Uh what's what?" Rosa asked as Dawn turned to them and pointed at Gloria. "You are fit to be Dynalyte's leader!" She declared as Gloria smiled and nodded. "I'll do my best!" She cried as Dawn closed her eyes and turned.
"I am still the most experienced but I can follow your lead if you're truly serious about this." She said as Rosa hugged Gloria from the side. "Trust me. Ria will be a great leader!" Rosa said as Gloria smiled even more.
"So now what?" Rosa asked as Gloria thought for a moment. "We should probably become official first." She said as Dawn and Rosa turned to her. "What do you mean?" Rosa asked.
"I mean we should ask headmistress Cynthia if we can have an official club to truly become School Idols," Gloria said to her as Rosa nodded.
"We also need to write songs and think up dance steps," Dawn said. "We also need a practice spot," Rosa said.
Gloria then perked up and turned to Rosa. "Didn't your mom say she wanted to renovate your basement?" She asked as Rosa nodded. "Think she'd let us use it for practice?" She asked and Rosa thought it over for a second.
"If we clean it she might. It is a pretty big basement…" Rosa said as Dawn spoke up. "You expect an amazing Idol such as myself to practice in a basement?!" She cried as Rosa and Gloria turned to her deadpan.
"Where's your trophy, Miss Amazing Idol?" Rosa asked as Dawn froze up. "W-well I- I happen to have not entered any competitions yet!" She stammered once more. The brunettes laughed as Dawn blushed.
"Well, I guess we can see the basement," Dawn said as Gloria nodded. "Let's go then!" Rosa called as they went to her house after school.
"This… is a massive basement…" Dawn said as she noticed the basement that was likely two times the size of the living room. The problem? There were boxes and other things everywhere. It would need sweeping, cleaning, spraying, and mopping.
"Welp let's get to work!" Gloria said, having already pulled off her blazer upstairs and rolled up the sleeves of her undershirt.
The girls started to fix up the basement and after what felt like eons they managed to clean up and made it look like new.
"Are you doing alright girls-" Rosa's mother was cut off by gasping when she saw how the basement looked. "Wow, it looks amazing!" She spoke as the girls looked at her.
"We did our best!" Gloria said as Rosa and Dawn smiled. "It was a lot of work but we got it done." Rosa said.
"It was… interesting. Being a superstar Idol I never expected to do so much work… but it was nice to spend time with Gloria and Rosa…" Dawn said as the others laughed.
"Well girls, I made dinner. Come up to eat." Rosa's mother said as Gloria and Rosa started walking up the stairs. Dawn was going to decline but her stomach betrayed her and growled as Dawn blushed and everyone else giggled as Rosa's mother turned to her.
"Good thing I just finished. You like meatloaf?" She asked as Dawn nodded.
After dinner, Gloria and Dawn went home as they promised that they would ask Cynthia about the school Idol club tomorrow.
The Next Day
Gloria, Dawn, and Rosa all were standing outside of Headmistress Cynthia's office. "You ready?" Rosa asked Gloria as the girl gulped.
"No… no, I'm not…" She said as Dawn seemed to be just as nervous. Gloria then knocked on the door and heard a woman say "Come in."
The girls walked in and saw a blond woman doing paperwork and she looked up to see the girls and greeted them with a smile. "How can I help you girls?" She asked as the trio looked at each other before Gloria walked up.
"Headmistress… we want to make… a School Idol Club!"
Another cliffhanger because wynaut? So this was kind of the same beat as a usual LL second episode, building for the next one. I'm not sure when chapter 3 comes out because I want that to be the first live… but at the same time, I haven't even finished the lyrics for the song(and I was writing the lyrics before this chapter…) so that might take ages. Anyway hope you enjoy and have a good one BYYEEEEEEEEEEE
