Update.
I've made a start on the sequel. If you'd like to read it you can find it on Archive of our own. The Traitor. Part 2. The username is Carol_77. It starts four years after the battle so it's a post-Hogwarts story. I will advise any readers that I've decided to rate it as explicit as there will be more graphic scenes in it than this one. I've already got a rough outline down on paper for the central plot and I now know the ending for certain so I'm good to go. Draco and Hermione will continue to be the central pairing and Harry will have a large part to play. I left Tom hanging by a thread at the end of the Traitor but all is not how it seems. There will be more focus on the pureblood ideology and the reasons for the dark sides obsession with blood status. I will also be delving into the ramifications of the timeline changes. All the characters survived the battle and this will have a ripple effect on the Wizarding World. I'll try and keep some humour in the sequel as J.K always liked to put some comedy in the books to balance it all out. I don't like to write or read stories myself that are too consistently depressing. My favourite stories that I've read tend to be focused on human drama with a large dose of black comedy on the side which is what I try and aim for myself when I write.
I must add that I couldn't resist writing another Ron focused chapter. I had so much fun with the last one. I can't quite explain it but I find his character strangely compelling for many reasons and he's very enjoyable to write about. I won't ever make Ron evil. He will never join the Death Eaters in any story that I write, but I'm going to explore what I think would be a natural progression of who I think Ron would be without Hermione by his side. He will still have his archaic, sexist attitudes about women but this will most certainly backfire on him in the most spectacular of ways.
