The Atlas Superman 2 Chapter 6: Haven's Fate.
(Outskirts of Mistral city)
Superior Man and Reuben continue to exchange blows. Reuben and Superior man are evenly matched in this fight. Powerful shockwaves quickly spread from each one of their clashes. Electricity crackles in the distance. Reuben then brandishes his sword, it is slashing towards Superior Man. Superior man then takes a page out of Cinder's book and generates a sword made of his own aura. A blood red blade that mimicked the style of Qrow's.
Superior Man: Ah! I see we're moving on to our weapons!
Reuben then slashes his sword again. This time, the swords clash, generating sparks.
Reuben: Shut Up!
Superior Man: You must be the only Huntsman on Remnant who dislikes using his weapon!
(Aurelian's Base, Vale)
Aurelian sits upon his throne once more. Those who had taken his rightful place were frozen I place. Glittering from their solid gold casing.
Aurelian: Melt them now!
Those men who were still loyal to him carry off the bodies. The Bodies are taken to a room, with a massive smelting pool. The Pure heat radiating off of it was worse than any day in Vacuo. The gold statues are dropped into the pool. The gold hisses as the dense mineral becomes liquid within seconds, the boiling gold is then fed into a metallic cast. The liquid pours into the cast and bubbles lightly. The liquid overflows a small bit into the smaller circular molds.
Aurelian: A new currency for Remnant. Not one as volatile as the Lien. One backed by Gold, made by, and supplied by me.
The new gold coins are quickly minted. A hammer strikes each coin as it cools with the photograph of Aurelian.
Aurelian: The New Kingdom of Northern Vale needs a currency.
Auerlian chuckles as more of the golden statues are dragged off to the smelting room.
Aurelian: With the Schnee Dust Company effectively disintegrated. The world will turn to my kingdom for aid. The Lien will become worthless, as its price inflates out of control.
He sists back and closes his eyes.
Auerlian: All according to Cake…
Raven Branwen, is still intact. Her body is on display inside a glass chamber. A small bronze plaque details her name simply as Bandit Queen. Unfortunately, Raven cannot break free from her statue form.
(Have Academy, Courtyard)
The world stops for a second. A powerful, booming Voice can be heard. A blue mist surrounds the courtyard as a man, with newly restored chains appears. Ambrosius looks at the one before him and chuckles. Clearly enjoying his services being utilized.
Ambrosius: Three times in one year! This is the most action I've had in decades!
The one who summoned him, Henri Ducard, looks up at him.
Ducard: Ambrosius, I have summoned you for a purpose.
Ambrosius floats around the area before getting in a sitting position.
Ambrosius: AH, yes. What Alias do you go by these days?
Ducard: That doesn't matter…what matters is the life of the girl before me.
Ambrosius then moves from his position, he then starts to inspect Penny. He notices her aura quickly spilling out of her robotic body.
Ambrosius: You are aware I cannot return that which has died to life….
Ducard: She'll die without your help.
Ambrosius crosses his arms and rolls his eyes, knowing he would have to work against the clock.
Ambrosius: Fine! What would you like me to do?
Ducard then shows Ambrosius the schematics for Penny.
Ducard: I would like you to separate her from her robotic parts.
Ambrosius: You've certainly done your homework! I commend you again for your quick thinking old man..
Ambrosius mulls over the parts. The engineering required to do something that advanced must have been made by a genius. Who may or may not have been killed when Atlas fell.
Ambrosius: If I remove all the parts? Then what would be left?
Ducard: Her Soul.
Ambrosius then looks over at him and huffs.
Ambrosius: Very Interesting!
Ambrosius uses his magic to surround Penny in a blue mist. He uses his godly creation skills to parce Penny from her robotic body. Once the Soul is separated, it seems to form a human Penny all on its own. The girl is in an outfit very similar to her old one.
Ambrosius: It's done!
He snaps his fingers and disappears into the staff again. The Staff clatters to the ground as time unfreezes. Penny opens her eyes, as she looks at her former body.
Penny: Mr. Ducard!
Penny goes over to hug him. Her new human form feeling warm, as well as a slew of new emotions she couldn't feel before.
Penny: Am…I dead?
Ducard: Far from it my dear. You are a woman now. A human woman.
(Branwen Camp, Mistral)
Taiyang is busy looking around the abandoned camp for clues. The only thing he can find is broken trees, ransacked tents. Inside Raven's own tent, nothing but documents, scattered around the ground. For some reason, Raven still had most of her stuff here.
Taiyang: I'm guessing she was going to leave him.
Taiyang then further surveys the tent, noting the intact bed that smelled exactly like his ex. He never wanted her to leave in the first place. He sits down on the comfortable bed. He remembered a time before this conflict with Salem. When his top priority was passing classes at Beacon, and bonding with his teammates.
Taiyang: But, that's a memory from a time long ago lost.
Taiyang then rolls over, as he notices a piece of ancient paper sticking out of Raven's nightstand. He opens it and begins to read it. His eyes grow wide as each sentence bores itself deep int his mind.
(Outskirts of Mistral City)
Reuben and Superior man are continuously clashing weapons. Reuben then slashes left, as Superior Man slashes left. Reuben's aura takes the hit however his aura begins to crack from fighting. He can tell that in order to kill Superior Man, he would have to ascend further beyond. But, would he have enough time before his aura gave out? Or was there even a beyond to his current power? Before these questions can be answered, a powerful shift in the wind can be felt. Reuben eyes down his opponent, knowing something has drastically changed.
Superior man: No! This can't be!
Superior man's wound oozes blue dust. His eyes widen as he stares at Reuben for the last time. He uses the last of his strength to rush toward Reuben.
Superior Man: You will die by my hand!
He slashes his sword, and before it strikes, he is reduced to blue mist which harmlessly floats away. Reuben relaxes and powers down his semblance.
Reuben: Someone must have found, and used that Staff of Creation again.
Reuben then begins the journey back to Haven.
(Haven Academy, Main hall)
Penny is busy seated on the couch, getting used to her newly gifted Humanity. The hallowed halls are immensely quiet for a huntsman academy. Qrow walks into the main hall, likely on his way out for the evening. He takes a look at Penny.
Qrow: Hey Kiddo, you look…different…
Penny then looks up at the older Huntsman.
Penny: Oh, hello Qrow! I am no longer a robot and am therefore fully human!
Penny beams as she says this.
Qrow: Right, have you seen Rae? I haven't heard from her in hours.
Penny thinks for a moment, then replies.
Penny: I have not seen Ms. Branwen in a while as well. She doesn't pay me much mind due to my as she put it lack of what it means to be a true Huntress.
Penny then whips out her scroll to try and contact the headmaster. Seconds, later the door opens and Reuben himself enters. His top half certainly seen better days. He single handedly rips it off and tosses the rag on the ground. He mutters to himself as he walks across the academy floor.
Qrow: I've never seen him act like this.
Qrow goes over to Reuben, who glances at Penny. He notes that she is alive and well but does not strike up a conversation with the young girl.
Reuben: Raven's gone.
Qrow looks up at Reuben with shock. He stares at him as if he were lying.
Qrow: My sister isn't one to die without a fight. Now, cut the bullshit, where is she?
Reuben angrily brushes him off and continues to walk deeper into the academy towards the kitchen.
Reuben: She's gone, Qrow.
Enraged, Qrow attempts to rush Reuben. Within a split second, the unlucky huntsmen becomes intimate with the hardwood flooring. Reuben looks at him and shakes his head. Even without activating his semblance, his raw power seems to have translated into his base.
Qrow: You! You killed her!
Reuben puts his boot on Qrow's head.
Reuben: One, never do that again, or I won't hesitate to do to you like l did to Ironwood. Second…
Reuben presses his boot down hard.
Reuben: l am no liar; would I really tell you the woman who I wake up next to daily is dead?
Reuben lifts his boot off of Qrow's face, which by now is streaming with tears. Qrow can feel his rage boiling to the surface.
Qrow: Why didn't you save her?!
Reuben: I was busy!
Qrow: Too busy to help your girlfriend? Or was she just another hole for you to satisfy your needs?
Enraged, Reuben's eyes widen. He then grabs Qrow and brings him to his feet. He growls at the Huntsmen, as he reels up a killing blow.
Reuben: You!
Reuben stops himself from killing Qrow off. He comes to his senses and tosses Qrow to the side who manages to narrowly stay upright. Qrow huffs as he calms down still crying. Reuben then continues to walk unhindered to the kitchen.
Penny: He easy could've killed you.
Penny walks over to Qrow, offering him some water.
Qrow: Maybe the world would have been better off if that was the case then..
Qrow takes the drink and slowly makes his way out the door into the cold night. Penny picks up the battle top that Reuben was wearing as she feels truly conflicted.
Penny: Ruby…l miss your guidance…
