Haha alright! State testing is over! With that done and over with, I have a question for y'all. It'll be in the poll on my profile. And whatever you choose may, or may not, affect the future of this story. The poll will be ending next week on June 3rd. Alright, have fun!
Chapter 10
"Um, Goku. May I ask you a question?"
"Go for it." Goku responded, not looking away from the direction they were flying.
"Okay. -exhale- Is… Is that how you died? Back on Namek?"
Goku had to make a double take at the question being asked. "Is that how I died? It would make sense, considering a whole planet blew up in my face. As far as I can tell, it's highly possible. But I still feel like I'm missing info, we'll have to wait and see if I have any more flashbacks like before."
"Hm. If anything we should be thanking Caster for unlocking that form you're in. I may not be able to feel or use that ki you mentioned, but I can definitely feel something different about you." Rin stated, looking at his still spiky blonde hair.
"This transformation feels like a big power boost. I don't have a grasp on how large yet. We can discuss it later after we deal with whoever's at your front door."
"Pardon?"
The two touched down in the front lawn of the Tohsaka Manor, only to be greeted by the tip of a spear.
"You know Cú, this isn't how I expected this to go." Goku replied with a straight face, putting Rin down onto her feet.
"Shut up! What the hell was that?! What did you do?!" Cú was, for multiple reasons, absolutely livid.
"I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh really? Let me lay it out for you then. One, those massive quakes and the lightning coming from the sky. Without a cloud in sight mind you. Two, that massive influx of energy in the woods nearby. I went to check it out for my master, only to find you standing in the middle of a crater, with trees being uprooted for at least a couple of miles. Not to mention the fact that you knew where I was while in spirit form. And three, the hell happened to your hair? Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad, but was it necessary?"
"-sigh- Look, this is all new to me too. Just know that any chance you had of beating me went out the window."
Cú was shocked. From what he remembered, Goku was a pretty chill guy. And when he wasn't in spirit form, they'd often wave to each other from across rooftops. But the one who took this new side of Goku the hardest, was Rin. She was so used to the happy-go-lucky guy who had a black hole for a stomach. Not this serious and rigid version of her servant. And it honestly scared her.
"Now, if neither of you mind. There's something that requires my attention." After saying that, Goku blasted off into the sky like a rocket. Easily breaking the sound barrier as he flew through the city.
Meanwhile, the two he was just with hadn't even registered that he'd left.
Roughly 5 miles away
He could see it. Or at least, he thought he could. He saw the man jump into the air, only to have vanished like a ghost. "Why do I get the feeling I'm in deep shit right now?"
"Because you are."
The man immediately turned around and slashed with a newly projected sword. It had a slight curve and was all white with a yin-yang symbol where the hilt meets the blade. Only to find that he swung at nothing.
"Is there someone over there?"
He swung behind him again, this time with a new sword that matched the previous one. Except this one was all black with a red hexagonal pattern on it. The man held up his index finger, and blocked the sword.
"I suggest you give up. I don't plan on hurting you, I just want answers."
"And what if I don't have them?" Questioned the attacker.
"Trust me, you will."
The next day Homurahara School's Student Council room
"What do you mean Ayako is missing?!"
"I don't know what to tell you, Emiya. She went missing after being seen with Shinji in the archery club's dojo. We tried to confirm this with Shinji, but he isn't at school today." The boy replied, fixing his glasses.
"I'm going to go ask around. Thanks for the tip Issei." With that, Shirou quickly walked out of the student council room.
While wandering through the halls, Shirou noticed a familiar face walking towards him. "Hey Sakura."
"Ah, good morning senpai. Is there something I can do for you?"
"There is actually. I was wondering if you've noticed anything different about Shinji recently."
"I'm sorry, senpai. I'm afraid I haven't seen him that much as of late either."
"Oh, ok. I'm sorry for springing that on you." Shirou started with a bow.
"No, that's not true. I know my brother better than anyone else, so it's only natural that you would come to me." She also replied with a bow.
"Please, it's nothing for you to worry about. See you later, Sakura."
"Man, I've been looking for her all day and the most I can find is that she's sick. Just my luck."
[Scream]
"What the! That came from outside!"
Shirou began running down the halls trying to find the nearest staircase. To his surprise, Rin was still there and they ended up chasing the sound together. And eventually made their way outside to a little pathway in between buildings, with a girl lying unconscious on the floor.
"Good, it looks like she's just unconscious."
"Just unconscious? She isn't just unconscious Emiya, she's been completely drained!"
"Drained?" Shirou had a look of shock and confusion on his face.
"Of her mana… or in other words, her life force. Goku told me about the parallels between his power and our mana, and if what he says is true, then she's in big trouble. Not to mention she barely has any blood left. If we leave her like this, she'll die."
"Ok… Wait, die!? Tohsaka we have to do something!"
"Don't worry, I should have a gem that can stabilize her." Reaching into her back pocket, Rin pulled out a green gem and began to use it's effects.
-cough-cough-
Shirou could only sigh in relief that the girl would be alright. "We should probably take her somewhere safe. Maybe like the- Tohsaka look out!"
Something invisible came hurtling out of the forest next to the campus. They both expected the worst, closing their eyes. When all of a sudden they heard feet land on the ground next to them.
[Klang]
The sound of metal hitting the floor was the next thing they both heard. The two students opened their eyes to see who had saved them.
"Phew. Looks like I made it just in time huh?"
Rin was the one to speak up. "Yeah you did. But Goku, what took you so long?! I had asked you to come here once I heard this girl's scream. Jeez, ever since last night when you left Lancer and I at my house you've been a little distant."
"Hehe, yeah sorry about that. I've been thinking things over. Trying to rack my head around the new info I got."
"Info?"
"Don't worry about it. Now you two should take her and get somewhere safe, I'll deal with the servant." And just like how he came, he vanished in an instant.
"You really aren't making this easy for me, are you?" Goku was in the middle of the forest. The servant he was chasing was bouncing off the trees with precise movements, and built up enough speed that even he was having slightly more trouble if he didn't focus hard enough. Key word being 'slightly'. "You know, if you had a more competent master, I'm sure your agility would be through the roof."
The enemy servant stopped moving. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Oh, she speaks. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Son Goku, it's a pleasure to get the chance to meet another hero of the past such as yourself."
"I'm not looking for pleasantries, Goku. Answer my question."
"I'll tell you somethin' about myself."
"I already told you I'm-"
"I can sense all the living beings on this planet." The servant instantly got quiet. "And from what I can sense from you, it's that your tank is running on empty. Right? And the fact that Shirou could feel your attack coming proves it." The silence was all he needed. "In other words, your master isn't able to supply enough mana for you."
"And what made you jump to that conclusion?"
"Rin has told me a bunch of stuff about your system. I may not be the brightest, but even I can put a couple of pieces together."
Just then, the enemy servant came flying out of the brush. "You know too much." She held what looked like two large iron nails on the ends of a chain. She tried to get the jump on him with her immense speed and precision, and threw one of the nails at Goku. And it might've worked, if her opponent wasn't Goku.
Goku quickly turned around and grabbed the nail out of the air, surprising the enemy servant. "Let's go for a ride, shall we?" With that, Goku began to sprint at high speeds throughout the forest, dragging the enemy behind him. "She's pretty competent if she's handling being thrown into a bunch of trees at high speeds like this. And it seems like she knows that she can't let go of the other end unless she wants to get disarmed. She's a heroic spirit alright."
Goku abruptly stopped running after he felt another presence watching their battle. And with the energy he gave off, it was pretty obvious who it was.
"NO! NO NO NO! NO! There is ZERO way my servant should be losing this badly. She's MY servant after all."
Just as the boy was expressing his anger, a man came bursting through the treeline. "Hold this for me."
"What?" He turned back to the treeline to see his own servant being pulled like a ragdoll straight towards him. "Oh shi-"
[Crash] [Boom]
"Next time, don't take the life force of another, ok?" After that was said, the man flew off into the distance. Leaving the master servant duo knocked out on the floor.
Tohsaka Manor
"So we've come to an agreement then, Tohsaka?"
"Indeed, I'll accept the truce. We have to figure out whoever attacked us, and deal with Berserker, or rather Vegeta. But there is one major problem as of right now."
"Hm? What's that?"
"It's the bounded field that's been put up around the school. I can only assume they plan on sacrificing the students to strengthen their servant. It's the only logical explanation for doing something so radically insane. And once it's activated, everyone inside will most likely weaken and die."
"Then we have to do something. There's no way I'm going to let those people die like that."
"Hehe, that's something we both agree on Shirou."
The two kids looked at the door to see Goku standing there with a big smile on his face. He had a couple of leaves in his hair along with a twig or two.
"Goku, when did you get back?" Rin replied, having not felt him enter her own bounded field.
"Oh, I just got here. I came in from the kitchen to see if you were cooking anything."
"-sigh- Is food all you ever think about."
"I mean, I won't deny it. But…"
Goku was trying to think of something to say, until he remembered the info he had gotten last night.
"Hey Shirou, do you mind if I ask you some questions. In private."
Shirou stood shocked, "Uh- Um, sure." After that, the two walked outside. And Goku teleported them away from the manor.
Barren wasteland
"Wow! Since when could you do that?!"
"It's something that came to me a couple of hours ago. And it's also my answer to Rin's question from last night. But that's besides the point. Shirou, there's one thing I ask of you."
"Okay, what is it?"
"Is your dream truly to become a Hero of Justice?"
End of the tenth chapter
Real quick, do you guys think I should add a new segment for Goku's various techniques? Otherwise the personal skills list would get quite long in the future when he remembers more.
