Hello there! Welcome to the Chapter 2 of Stranded in Remnant, On Unknown Grounds.
I hope you have a good time reading, Please enjoy!
The Agent grunted as she felt her senses slowly return to her.
First, it was the hearing. The next, it was the feeling of soft grass, brushing against her face.
It seemed that she was lying on the ground, face down on the floor.
Wait, Grass?
She was confused for a second, but she was given no time to think about it.
Because she felt the pain.
Gods, the pain was unreal.
It felt like she got pounded by one of the Black Tusk's Robot Warhounds and then was promptly thrown off a cliff.
Those things were very annoying, and they also packed a punch with their Rifle Turrets or Minigun Turrets...
Or Grenade Turrets.
But those were so cool! They ran around the battlefield like nothing else, absorbing the hits..
She definitely wanted one if she could get one.
Anyway, after some time, she felt the pain subside enough for her to somehow move around, joints cracking painfully.
She didn't know what had happened to her, She was in the middle of some unknown forest, after all.
As she pushed herself painfully, but slowly, she saw the gleaming stars in the night sky.
Although she could only see few of them due to the trees, it still looked beautiful.
Grrr...
"What was that?"
She thought as she spun around, Pistol in hand.
Then she saw it.
Something that looked like a wolf with fur blacker than the darkest nights.
It seemed like it wanted her as it's late night snack.
But she was no prey.
The Agent opened fire on the creature, several skillful shots never missing the target.
After few seconds, The Creature was down for the count, bullet holes in it's head.
ROAR
But it seemed that it brought it's friends.
She was no longer in for a short fight, so she pulled pulled out one of her most beloved weapons.
The Grudge.
That bastard Aaron Keener had kept it on him, and she had stolen it after she killed him.
And now, it was aimed at a feral beast.
The short burst from The Grudge tore the beast apart, and then she moved to the next.
In the timespan of less than 10 seconds, three rabid beasts were put down.
Only a few more of them remained, and one of them had charged right at her, ready to pounce on her.
She threw her body to the left and landed on a roll, letting the beast sail over harmlessly.
Of course, when it landed on the ground, it had a bullet hole in the back of it's head.
The Agent shot both of the beasts, and they fell down just like the others.
She sighed out in relief, and put The Grudge where it belongs.
That fight went smoothly, but what were those things she fought? She wondered as their bodies started to.. Disintegrate, that's the word.
Surprising.
She supposed that they were some sort of-
"Unknown Energy Signature Detected."
ISAC had broken her out of her thoughts, as It had displayed where the Energy Signature was Detected.
And her objective was to follow it.
"More job for me, I suppose."
She mumbled as she started jogging her way through the forest, she didn't talk a whole lot, but she liked to sometimes speak out and even complain once a while.
It certainly was refreshing to take a walk in such a.. clean forest.
As refreshing it could have been while ISAC was annoying her the entire way, forcing her to run the rest of the way.
While she was there, she could see some amazing views, such as...
A city.
An alive, active, working city.
"What?! That's impossible!"
The Agent screamed out in confusion.
They should have been all either destroyed or quarantined!
The Green Flu had been taken care of, But...
But for a city to have rebuilt like this? It was impossible, Too soon.
The Agent did the next thing that she wanted to do.
She began running towards the city, maybe she could get to there and figure out where she was at.
Vale Outskirts
When The Agent had reached the City, she could see the high walls and Automated Defenses that were installed on it.
That was impressive, she whistled as she admired The Wall.
It sort of reminded her the barricades at those Dark Zones, and the Turrets were intresting.
Anyway, she tried to get inside without getting noticed.
She didn't want to get seen with all kinds of heavy weaponry out in the open, that was a bad idea.
She considered the options.
She could use a Holographic Decoy to lure out the guards, then possibly get past without being noticed.
Or, she could wait until they were swapping out the guards, and slip through.
She liked both of the ideas, so she decided to do them both.
It's not like she didn't have all the time in the world.
Her connection to the main ISAC network was severed, and all she could trust were just two AIs and her skills.
Few hours later..
Vale
The Agent had successfully slipped through the opening, leaving behind a completely destroyed Hologram Device.
Now what was she going to do?
On the HUD lenses attached to her eyes, she saw an objective pop up.
ISAC possibly gave her that.
"Investigate the Area"
That was obvious, Thank you.
So all she could do is walk around and...
She had an idea.
A bright idea had popped into her mind.
What if she could connect ISAC and ANNA to whatever network this place had?
With clear objective set, The Agent set out to find an Internet Connection.
She had no idea what was going to happen, And who she was going to encounter.
Poor Agent.
As the Agent walked around the city After she stored all the heavy arms inside her backpack, she saw many interesting things.
One, this place used somehow the same language she does.
Two, there are people with animal parts and some of them are SOOO CUTE!
She almost couldn't resist the urge to pet someone that had Dog's ears.
What? she liked puppies!
The Agent would kill for any cute puppy.
Too bad Agent Kelso only liked kittens..
They were cute too, but one had scratched her, and that hurt really bad.
Now that she thought about it, she missed that dog in Haven..
No use pondering for now.
And three..
Her thoughts were cut off by someone literally flying at her.
She was confused for a second, but her eyes widened after she realized that the body was going to hit her.
She simply rolled out of the way, thanks to ISAC's threat notifier.
And well, she could hear some fighting and shouting over at that store.
It was time to intervene.
She pulled out a pistol from the jacket, and ran towards the shop to see what was happening.
"Isn't it past your bedtime, Red? And uh, Moody. You're both looking a little short there."
The jerk with the makeup said, making Ruby almost furious.
Okay, what Uncle Qrow told her, she has to stay calm in fights-
Wait, Both?
BANG
A loud gunshot rang in her ears, and she turned for a second to see who shot the gun.
It was a girl with a mask and a beanie, and she was glaring at the jerk with a gaze that would scare anyone.
She was about as tall as her, Which was surprising considering her height.
She had a cool looking backpack with orange glowing lights, and a cool looking SMG on it, she should totally ask about it later!
Anyway, she now pointed the gun at the jerk, the intensive gaze still there.
"Uh, okay? You don't have anything to say?"
"...Just get them."
And she moved.
While Ruby was trying to take out the Robbers atleast without any killing intent, she noticed how the other girl fought.
It was skillful, and there were no wasted movements.
She had reverse gripped the pistol and smacked a robber who didn't expect her to rush foward.
The poor guy got his arm grabbed then thrown on the floor, just to catch a hard kick in his jaw.
"Ouch."
Ruby had thought before she sent another robber flying, And soon, The Dust Shop was cleared in no time.
"You were worth every cent, Truly you were."
The jerk with the makeup said, looking at the fallen robbers.
"Well, Red and Shady, I think we can say it has been an eventful evening, But as much as I'd love to stick around.."
He had pulled out a cane, and pointed at them with it moments later.
"This is where we part ways."
The woman had shoved her back, and had pulled out a shield out of nowhere! Where had it come from?
The blast had barely damaged her shield, and it folded back to it's original state after blocking the blast, Which was just plates folded over.
That was cool, How did it turn into a full-sized shield so quickly?
Oh wait, The Shopkeeper!
Ruby quickly checked up on him, Using her Semblance to quickly reach the man.
"Are you going to be okay if we go after him?"
The Shopkeeper nodded, So that was a yes.
Ruby chased the thief onto a roof soon after, Leaving The Shopkeeper in a swell of rose petals.
When she was face to face with the thief, She noticed that the girl from before was standing beside her.
It looked like she had found an alternative path.
"Hey! You're going nowhere!" Ruby shouted out.
"Persistant." The thief had muttered out.
Ruby got into a stance, and raised Cresent Rose..
But a Bullhead came out of nowhere, and Ruby had no time to react as the thief boarded it, Staring at them with a smirk.
Then he threw a Fire Dust Crystal right at them.
Ruby was pulled by her hood as the girl from before had pulled out her shield again, Pulling her behind so she wouldn't get hurt.
The girl braced herself for the explosion..
The Agent had never expected for things to go like this.
She didn't expect to stop a robbery from a "Dust Shop".
She didn't expect a girl with an oversized scythe looking thing to help her out doing so.
And what she really didn't expect, Was to see magic.
Apparently magic had existed, And it had protected her and her Crusader Shield from the explosion.
The damn thief had gotten away, But the girl and herself had been fine, Which made her glad.
If any of them had been injured, She would be stuck in a much more uncomfortable spot.
Speaking of...
"Can I have your Autograph?!"
The little girl from before had shouted out, Almost hurting her ears from the sheer volume.
The Agent sighed and flopped down on the roof, Letting her Crusader Shield fold down to metal plates once again.
That thief had pissed her off.
She admitted that she looked younger than most Division Agents, and she was shorter than most, too.
But for him to call her short?
It had pissed her off.
But as much as she wanted to shoot the thief, It was her first encounter with the locals here, And she had to leave a good impression.
And that purpose went out of the window too.
She began to grumble and complain as she sat there on the roof, Considering her options now.
Until she heard somebody calling over.
She was in so much trouble.
Hopefully it won't involve letting her secrets out, Not yet.
Hello everyone, Thank you for reading Chapter 2!
In this chapter, Our Agent gets stuck in an awkward situation, And shows that even in Remnant, She is a force to be reckoned with.
Right now she doesn't have an Aura unlocked, However, She still has her wits, skill, and quick thinking, Which allowed her to survive encounters with the Black Tusk and Hunters.
After all, Her bullets still kill.
And if you're asking "is this another shitty fic where oc goes to beacon", Well, I'm sorry to have disappointed you.
I'm still new to RWBY's world, And lack the understanding over the entire world to make any interesting stories and plots by myself.
So, think of this as a practice.
A practice for me to get used to the world of RWBY, And a practice on how to write proper stories.
And also, there will be a few shenanigans featuring team RWBY and The Agent.
Anyway, Reviews are always appreciated!
Thank you!
