Sorry for the delay, but I'm only just able to circle back to this story after a while. The recent writer's convention also did not help, as I was preoccupied. But this is the second chapter, hope you guys like it.

Previously: The legendary Devil Hunter and his older twin "The Alpha and Omega" Vergil, having fought so much during their times in the demon world. Were consumed in a beam of light, which mysteriously came into existence in the demon world.
Meanwhile, the kingdom of Fiore having known peace for quite sometimes was thrown into disharmony. When the beam of light that had engulfed the demon hybrid twins, appeared. But only then to be replaced by the demon tree which, roots once claimed a lot of lives.
"Qliphoth"...
A multitude of " Empusa" was hovering around a small town in the dead of night, slowly flying around, while some of them were busy sucking on blood. Making their abdomen turn red.
Hidden in an alley inspecting the sucker insects, are three of the main members of Team Natsu.
" Let me at em, I'll roast those damned bugs," Said Natsu, itching to lash out at the Empusa's for all the horrors he had witnessed.
" Shhhh, shut the fuck up! " Erza said in a whisper glaring at Natsu.
The pink-haired dragon slayer shut his mouth and looked down.
" This was the same thing you aimed at back then, where did it get us. Can you do a better job against them? " Erza asked Natsu in a whisper, but as low as her voice. The dragon slayer knew she was pissed, but not at him.
" It's being a month since those things appeared, along with those murder roots," Said Lucy
" And if only the magic council was still not building up. We did all we could, Etherion and Face was not an option to destroy that giant tree, do you all remember how many mages were lost in our attempt to put a stop to those demon things, and I don't mean the small ones " Erza said, in her attempt to explain to them how reckless it would be to just launch an attack.
Then Natsu and Lucy looked sadly, their memories being filled by the image of that day, the day they knew what true hell looks like. . .
" What is the meaning of this? " Erza said, not believing anything she is seeing.
An hour after the appearance of the tree, team Natsu and other mages have all rushed to the site, only to witness lifeless husks of human mages and civilians alike hung up by Qliphoth saplings. The surrounding houses crumble from having, Qliphoth roots sticking out of them.
" Everyone here is dead," Lucy said, covering her mouth right after.
Erza's aura darkened from rage at the sight, of what was left of the town nearest to the seashore. Which was now occupied by the Qliphoth tree.
" Let me at the big tree, and we will bring it down " Suggested Natsu, smashing his fist against his palm,
" Don't waste your strength trying to attack the tree itself, what you will find is death "
The mages present looked both in confusion and surprise, as the two brothers emerged from the shore.
Dante and Vergil made their way past everyone, ignoring the bodies and the Qliphoth sapling.
" Are we gonna leave those demons roaming about? " Dante asked, ignoring the stares they were getting, " we do not have the strength to get involved right now, a month of rest would do us both good, because the scores are still unsettled " Vergil replied
" Indeed," Dante said
" Who are you two, and what do you know about this tree? " Erza asked sending a glare at the two strangers
Dante stopped and glanced at the red-haired fairy tail master, with a smirk.
" Just that it does not belong here, brace yourselves cause this is going to be the longest shit you've ever seen, " Dante said
" Why don't you stay for tea, " Vergil said in a dead tone of sarcasm, while he continued walking.
" Nah, I'll pass, " Dante said
Dante continued walking, and soon enough the two white-haired brothers disappeared (not literally) from the scene.
" Who were those two? " Gray asked
" It doesn't matter, we have to deal with the tree " Said Erza
" But that guy said it was a bad idea attacking the tree " Said Lucy
" No one cares what they said, we can't just leave it here," Said one of the mages present
Ezra summoned two katana's to her hands and charged the Qliphoth saplings.
" We attack first, that's all that matters " Said Erza as she ran, " Hell Yeah! " Natsu exclaimed
Flames engulfed Natsu's fists and charged the saplings also.
Erza executed multiple sword slashes as she ran, against the Qliphoth saplings, Erza halted. She turned around to look at the object of her attacks, expecting all the Qliphoth saplings to be severed.
However, ...her katanas instead cracked and then broke apart, and only the hilt and the handguard of her katana remained.
Natsu could not stop for the sudden change in Erza's demeanor, the dragon slayer leaped off the ground and launched his fiery fist against the main tree, deep below him are purple smokes and lighting cracking around them.
From his blind spot, ten Empusa: creatures that resemble ants, with a small abdomen that swells up and turns red if they can feed, and a large head equipped with pincers. On closer inspection, however, they have three distinct human faces, two fleshy and with glowing eyes, either side of a central face with hollow eye sockets and an exposed jaw with sharp teeth that are incorporated into the creature's mandibles. What appear to be vestigial human hands can be seen on their forelimbs, and feet on their rear limbs. They also possess a tiny pair of functionless feathered wings on their back.
The Qliphoth spawned creatures swarmed around Natsu.
" Natsu! " Lucy shouted
" Sky Dragon Roar! "
A huge wind tornado blast attacked the Empusa's surrounding Natsu, the powerful wind attack blowing the Empusa's far away. Natsu was not spared and was caught in the blast, and would have been completely blown away, had Happy not caught him.
" Thanks, happy, " Natsu said nervously, cause even he understood the hot mess he was in, " You should be thanking wendy, not me," Happy said
Happy carried his best friend, flapping his white wings, and dropped Natsu to the higher surface ground. Natsu roughed up his hair.
" Thanks, Wendy, I owe you one, " Said Natsu approaching the blue-haired teen.
" Happy to help, " Wendy said with a smile.
Standing beside her is her cat-like companion Carla. Erza approached them.
" You got here in time," Erza said, then she turned and glared at Natsu " and you Natsu, that was reckless. You could have gotten yourself killed " Erza scolded.
" That does not matter, you can see those things are regrouping, and if I should guess. Your weapons did not get broken on a whim " said Laxus
Laxus Dreyer made his debut, alongside Fried. The others turned to see the Empusa, back but staying a few distances away from them. Erza glanced at the Qliphoth sapling and looked down at her katanas. It was strange, the saplings were not even damaged in the slightest. Erza allowed her katanas to disappear.
" This root-like thing broke Titania's blades, how is that possible! " Exclaimed one of the increasing mages present at the scene, " This broke her sword? Nah, they must have rusted " Natsu said
" Hey flame brain, I'll freeze the roots and those flying things then you can burn them, " Gray said, everyone, noticed wherever the Devil slayer/ice wizard's clothing was, it wasn't on him.
Erza did not bother trying to stop them.
" Yeah! " Natsu cloaked his hands in flame and slammed a fist against his opened palm.
" Ice makes: Silver "...A frosty aura surrounded Gray and he snapped his finger, then in an instant he froze the Qliphoth saplings and the Empusas who were a safe distance away.
Natsu manned a position fitting for his next attack.
" Fire Dragon's Roar! " Natsu's cheeks puffed after his belly swelled, and he spewed out a stream of intense fire, a moment after everyone was at a safe distance. The flames went on like a wall, through the iced roots and the frozen Empusas.
Large smokes erupted as a result of Natsu's flames, covering the whole area. Most mages present coughed " Hey Natsu, have you forgotten the meaning of control? Idiot! " Laxus was not satisfied by all the smoke.
" How am I supposed to control it? Jackass " Natsu retorted...
The smoke settled and to everyone's surprise and soon horror, the empusa's were still in place and the Qliphoth roots remained where they were sticking out from.
" The fuck? Why aren't they gone! " Screamed a mage.
The fairy tail mages present were speechless, and erza thought it happened again. She thought it must have been a fluke the first time when her swords had shattered, but maybe it wasn't. But was it possible those things were indestructible? She thought in question to herself.
However amid silence and murmuring against unmoving demon insects, a puddle of blood appeared on the ground, and from it emerged five pairs of "Hell Caina": The Hell Caina appear as skeletal figures with a long dark hood and a thorny crown, wielding massive scythes as weapons. They wear ragged black robes and have reptilian clawed feet and a digitigrade posture. According to Nico's reports, they are related to the Hell Antenora and Hell Judecca, with the former being a Hell Caina tortured to the brink of insanity and the latter being a commander of Hell Caina.
Appearing next to the caina's are "Hell Antenora": Hell Antenoras are Hell Cainas who have been tortured extensively to the brink of insanity and have in their possession two massive cleavers. However, most of their features are hidden underneath a large hood, with their only visible deformity being their hunchback appearance.
Appearing before them are ten pairs of "Hell Judecca": Hell Judeccas are tall, thin demons with a skeletal appearance surrounded by filament-like purple energy protecting them to an extent (similar to Hell Antenora in the berserk state). They are related to Hell Caïna and Hell Antenora and can summon them both in combat. They are the strongest of the 3 Hells. While also possessing two scythes for hands that they can use for attack and defense, and they can teleport.
The mage's eyes widen even more, " What are those? " Lucy asked in disgust at their appearance " Everyone attack, do everything you can to bring them down " Erza commanded. But she would soon come to realize her command should have been to run and not to attack. But Fate's a bitch.
Fairy tail master "Erza Scarlet" gave an order and her guild charged, the mages from other guilds followed in suit...The hell Judecca teleported to the back and both caina and antenora charged.
" Everyone get out of the way! " Natsu shouted and a fiery aura engulfed him, everyone heed his warning and moved out of the way. " Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade! " Natsu circularly swipes his arms, creating a powerful, and highly destructive, torrent of flames that barrages the demons around him.
Gray followed up Natsu's attack, " Ice Devil's Zeroth Long Sword" Gray creates an ethereal long sword from his palms that he uses to slash at his opponent(s) with, inflicting a deep cut into the demon's body severely damaging them and having the added effect of freezing his target(s) solid as he moved.
Fried came in contact with a pair of Hell caina and with his sword unsheathed " Dark Écriture: Pain: Inscribing runes onto his opponents, Fried inflict immense pain upon them.
As far as erza could remember, it was that moment it all went wrong, first. The two demons marked by fried began to wail in pain, and the moment fried proceeded to finish them off. A hell Judecca appeared behind fried and brought its scythe down upon the mage.
Laxus has she remembered ceased in his tracks and shouted fried's name as the mage's upper half was severed and blood spilled out from what remains. The moment the fairy tail members used to cease attack for fried's death, caused the demons to gain on them.
And before they all knew, mages started dying. Being cut down one at a time, it only got worse from there...Gray fixed his gaze with rage against the Hell judecca, and attack with his sword. The commander of lesser demons teleported out of range, but the arm gray had stretched to attack the demon. Was open for attack from the tortured antenora, and one of the pair brought its cleaver down on his arm and severed it.
Mages kept fighting but the fairy tail mage remained standing, Erza cried his name " Gray! "...Erza, Natsu, Wendy, and Lucy came to Gray's aid, and Natsu used his flames to push the demons back. Gray stood shocked, as he began to lose blood. It was spilling, the shock was too high. And it did not take long for him to lose consciousness.
Right After, Qliphoth saplings began to emerge in sequence. And from attack, everyone shifted to running away to keep their lives, many, as well as team Natsu, were able to escape. But even as they picked up speed, the Qliphoth continued to emerge. Until a Qliphoth barricade was formed around the battle area and the Qliphoth tree and they were unable to retrieve the bodies of the fallen. . .
That was a month ago, since then a great number of mages in the continent had decreased. They had attempted to fight the demons, but they kept increasing, and different kinds than they saw the first time appeared. The demons from hell were the worst kind of foes they could have ever faced, magic attacks did not affect them, and why only Gray was able to kill them? They never found out yet, the ice mage had not woken up.
A lot had theories, some concluding it had to do with his devil slayer magic. But it was not proven. . .
In present time, they kept on watching but oddly they saw the Empusa's turn their heads towards a direction their eyes could not reach.
" Come on guys, don't be shy ", the three mages heard someone say and the Empusas suddenly started to dig the ground to escape. An action they had noticed they always did once their abdomen was full.
However, before the Empusas could escape. Some force they could only affiliate with telekinesis pulled them towards the direction they were facing, and before they knew it, silence settled.
" What's happening? " Lucy asked, " Let's check it out," Erza said and the three mages left their hiding and into the opened space. Prepared for everything, But...
Erza recollected the man before them, with white hair and a red jacket. He was sitting on a strange motorcycle, and only the ashes and blood drained by the empusa's remained.
" Who are you? " Erza asked, the same question she asked when she first saw him with the other one, but unlike then instead of a smirk. He smiled.
" Hey, you are that red-haired from back then. Have got to admit, demon crisis as nothing on you " Dante said getting off Cavaliere.
" You and that guy appeared that day, and he said touching the big tree was a bad idea, and you said it does not belong here," Natsu said, and erza was surprised he remembered that. But she very well appreciated him bringing it back to the handsome white-haired man's remembrance 'Did I just think he was handsome?' Erza thought.
Dante's expression became serious " Heads up, there is a deadly one behind you "...Erza, Natsu and Lucy looked back at Dante's words, and what they saw was a first.
'Shears of annihilation' is only able to exist by taking a shape of physical objects, wearing a black robe resembling that of the Grimm Reaper. This wicked spirit has chosen deadly weapons such as scissors and has a white mask which is the very embodiment of their existence.
" Hey! " Dante exclaimed smirking, the deadly spirit turned its head towards Dante. But unfortunately for it, lesser demons' IQ is very low. But it helps with always killing them.
Erza, Natsu, and Lucy retreat with few jumps, Erza transformed into her 'Flame Empress Armor': This armor is dark red predominantly, but also sports orange and black parts, with the first ones being shaped like flames and the second resembling Dragon's limbs. It's made up of three different parts: the revealing breastplate with Dragon-like wings attached to it, the orange gauntlets, and the Dragon claw-shaped greaves. Erza's hair is tied into a pair of high, long pigtails.
Erza summoned a long Masamune and cloaked it with fire, " Woah, what are you going to do? " Dante asked looking at the impressive armor and flaming sword. " Try and take it down," Erza said not facing him.
Dante chuckled, and he pulled Ebony out of its hidden places and pulled the trigger twice. The demon-powered shots sailed through the air and hit the mask, destroying it and the demon faded away...The three mages looked back at Dante to see him still handling the gun, and the devil hunter blew air at the smoke ascending from the hole of the gun.
" What did you do? " Lucy asked, " Killed it, what else?. A word of advice beautiful, when you see this type of demon. Aim for the mask only " Dante said.
Erza blushed at the word beautiful, and before any of the three could give a reply. Dante got on Cavaliere, started the demon-powered motorcycle, and drove away. Into the distance.
" Who is that guy? " Natsu asked, but erza thought he must be someone very interesting. . .
