Chapter 6 – Chichi's Nightmare

The air was cold, the city was empty. And standing in the street was Piccolo and the strange creature that has been terrorizing the civilians. The creature looked at him grinning as Piccolo huffed and held a fighting stance. The creature began to drink the innocent Victim and he suddenly disappeared, absorbed into the creature, after it was done. It turned to Piccolo.

'Ah... So, Piccolo... What brings you to my neighbourhood?' He grinned

'I sensed a disturbance.' Piccolo answered

'Well…. I am pretty disturbing!'

'So I take it you're the one who exterminated this entire city, then? Why? Just, why?'

'Well, two reasons: first, I was asleep for like, four years, and I am understandably hungry. And Two, and I need you to pay attention on this one...' He grins and suddenly lets out a huge blast, evaporating an entire city!

Back at Kame House, Gohan and Krillen sensed the power level and looked into the distance.

'Huh? Why does it feel like my dad is fighting Piccolo? And Vegeta is fighting Piccolo? And Piccolo... is fighting Piccolo? Okay that just sounded confusing' Gohan said to himself, what was Piccolo fighting!?

'That's weird, it even feels like I'm out there.' Krillen added

'It feels like everyone we know is fighting Piccolo!' Gohan suggested

'Except for Yamcha.' Krillen joked

'Well, duh, that's because I'm right here….. wait….. HEY!' Yamcha huffed as Krillen chuckled

'Guys focus! What is piccolo fighting?!' Gohan asked when suddenly there was a knock on the door

'I'll get it' Yamcha said

'Wait! What if it's the androids?!' Krillen panicked

'Krillen… If it was the androids…. Why would they knock?' Yamcha asked

'Oh…. Good point' He answered as Yamcha answered the door. Gohan saw who it was and smiled

'Hey Gohan!'

'Grandpa! Its so good to see you!' Gohan smiled

'I came as soon as Master Roshi sent me a message! Where is she!? Where is my little girl!?' The ox King asked as The others looked at one another and sighed

'She's upstairs, Goku is with her. I'll take you up' Yamcha said and lead the way. Gohan looked back out the window and wondered how was Piccolo getting on?

'I sure Hope Piccolo is okay' Gohan said

'I think I better go check up on him. He may need help with whatever he's facing' Krillen suggested

'Be careful Krillen, you don't know what you're up against!' Gohan warned as Krillen nodded and took off into the sky. Gohan watched and wondered what it was Krillen and Piccolo would face.

….

Meanwhile, The creature had evaporated the city leaving a huge canyon and the two of them standing in a showdown.

'Ah... And two...that is how I power the beautiful temple that is my body.' The creature smirks

'You... You're a monster!' Piccolo roared

'(mocking Piccolo) *Oh, I'm a monster*Like I haven't heard that one screamed at me today.'

'As much as it disgusts me to admit, you and I at least have one thing in common..'

'More than you know... But continue.'

'We both get a significant power up when we absorb someone.' Piccolo informed his foe

'Ominous!' the creature teased as Piccolo lets out a huge blast just as strong as the creature's

Meanwhile Krillen was on his way to Piccolo's aid and suddenly saw Trunks flying ahead and caught up to him.

'Trunks!' Krillen called out

'Krillen! You sense it too?' Trunks asked

'Yeah! I think Piccolo is gonna need some help! We better get moving!' Krillen answers as they both flew a little faster!

…..

The creature got up from it's feet after that blast and huffed

'Oh, so he fused with Kami? So that's a thing….' He said when suddenly Piccolo spins and kicks the creature from behind! He goes to do it again, but the creature dodges his spin kick

'DAMN IT!' Piccolo huffed

'Huh, faster than me... That could be a slight pain in the ass... But' he was cut of again when Piccolo kicks the creature from behind again and he gets annoyed and the creature goes flying but manages to suspend himself in the air right in front of Piccolo.

'Wanna see something cool?' he smirked and flies higher up in the air and raises two fingers up to his forehead confusing piccolo

'What is he doing? That looks like my technique. But it can't be! He's making the same manouver as I would….' Piccolo questioned the manoeuvrer as the creature's fingers are now teeming with power 'He can't be! How could he know my….?' Piccolo questioned it when he was cut off by the creature

'Makankōsappō!' The creature roared and fires the Special Beam Cannon

'Oh, crap.' Piccolo gasped and deflects the blast and proceeds to fly up towards the creature. The creature turns to attack Piccolo, but it turns out to be an afterimage and turns around to see Piccolo face-to-face.

'He's gonna kick me again, isn't he?' the creature huffed as Piccolo kicks the creature, sending him flying down to the ground, he gets up grunting 'All right, I'm gonna need you to do me a solid and not kick me anymore.'

'Start by telling me how you know my technique, and maybe I'll consider it.'

'Well, what can I say? Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Speaking of which...' he smirks and crouches into the Kamehameha wave stance 'Ka...'

'No! That's impossible! The only one who knows that technique is Goku!' Piccolo gasped

'Me...'

'And Gohan..'

'Ha...'

'Annnnd Master Roshi... And Krillin...'

'Me...'

'And Yamcha. And me, that one time I tried it just to see if I could—'

'HAAAAAAAAAAA!' The creature fires the blast directly at Piccolo! Piccolo dodges and blasts into the sky!

'Eh... This thing's just full of surprises...' Piccolo said to himself when suddenly

'SURPRISE!' The creature yells and grabs Piccolo from behind

'Let go of me!' Piccolo yelled

'Oh sure I will, but first…..' He grins and sticks his tail in Piccolo's left arm, causing the Super Namekian to scream and starts absorbing Piccolo's arm. To be released from the creature's grasp! Piccolo headbutts the creature in the face and breaks frees of his grasp. Piccolo and the creature land on the ground, with Piccolo's left arm now all shriveled up.

'Oh, God... You're arm looks so shriveled, You sure you don't want me to do the other arm? Even you out? Cause that's just distracting.' He teased

'Listen, I've obviously lost this fight. Without my arm, I'm finished.' Piccolo lied, he knew he could regenerate a new arm, he was just gonna wait for the right moment.

'Ah, submission. A second favourite to futile resistance.' The creature grins

'But before you finish me off...how about you tell me everything about you?' Piccolo suggested

'Oh, weeellll...'

'Unless you don't have anything important to say.'

'No, no, it's just...you're the first person to ask me who or what. Normally they just ask...why.' he said sinisterly

'Explain!' Piccolo ordered

'Well, to start us off, then: I'm sure by now you're more than familiar with my father, Dr. Gero.' The creature began

'Oh, goddamn it.' Piccolo huffed

'Oh, but wait, there's more. I am purely biomechanical, unlike my brother and sister, Androids 17 and 18.'

'Yes…. We met'

'As I was saying, our father created me with the sole purpose of becoming...perfect. Infused with the genetic makeup of the galaxy's strongest warriors, collected over several decades.' The creature explained

'So that's how you know our techniques!'

'Oh, but I know much more than that. I know that in this timeline, there lies the secret to my true, perfect form. A secret I had all but conceded lost to me.'

'This timeline? So you're from the future. But how?' Piccolo asked as The creature chuckled in a dark manner

'Oh... I found a way. All you need to know is that I am here now, and I will stop at nothing to achieve my perfection.' He finished

'Well, then. I guess I know your story...but I don't know your name.'

'Ah, truth is, I don't really have one. But all things considered, I think I'll go with...Cell.' He introduced himself

'That's kinda boring...' Piccolo huffed

'Coming from the guy named after a woodwind instrument. You know what? Doesn't matter anyway. I'ma drink you now.' Cell smirked

'Wait! Before that... Do YOU wanna see something cool?' Piccolo smirked

'Now I know you're playing me...and I do.' He answered as Piccolo rips off his ruined arm and grows a fresh one!

'Ragh!' He roared as his new arm reformed!

'Oh, that is HARDCORE! Also, not good for me!' Cell huffed as Trunks and Krillen land next to Piccolo. 'Also not good for me!' He added and hops backwards onto a destroyed foundation of a building

'What the hell is that?!' Krillen asked

'And why is it giving me the most ominous sense of déjà vu?' Trunks questioned as Cell flies up high in the sky looking down

'Sorry, kids, not telling the story again!' he called out and flies in front of the sun 'But I will leave you all enlightened! SOLAR FLARE!' He yelled and suddenly blinds everyone and leaves while laughing evilly as the others are blinded

'But that's Tien's thing!' Krillen yelled still blinded

'I KNOW!' Piccolo yelled blinded also

Meanwhile, Vegeta sensed the immense power level and questioned

'What was that!? Something new, a strong being?! Is that the Namekian!? What is he up to? Perhaps I should investigate!' He said and took off towards the power that was emerging in the distance

Meanwhile, Back at Kame House. Goku sat next to his wife who slept peacefully, she hadn't screamed in a long while, so maybe the medication was having an affect on her, the ox king sat on the opposite side and stroked her cheek gently, he hated to see his daughter in a state. It scared him. Poor Chichi had now been in this state for 6 days, it was remarkable how much time had gone by, for Goku it felt like an eternity had Gone by.

'I've never seen her like this before…..' Goku sighed stroking her hair

'She'll make it Goku. I believe in her, she's always been strong in her own way, but its still hard for a parent to see their child suffer'

'I understand, when I've seen Gohan in trouble, all I want to do is protect him but when it was Chichi I sensed in distress, it felt like I had jumped out of my own skin, not knowing what to do for her.' Goku sighed

'She's strong, she always has been'

'I hope you're right, I can't lose her' Goku said as The Ox king looked at her and smiled softly

'Did you know she was Premature?' Ox king asked as Goku scrunched his face

'Premature?'

'Yes, It means when a baby is too early to be born, a baby normally arrives after nine months. Chichi arrived after 7 months' He answered

'Really? What happened?' Goku asked

'Her mother… Huī yīn. She had an accident, it was bad. She fell and she bled out, doctors told us the baby had to be removed or it would die. She had to have the baby cut out of her and they said the baby needed to go into an incubator, her vitals were dangerously low, and they told us she wouldn't make it through the night. The doctors believed it, The civilians believed it, even her own mother believed it. But not me, I stayed by her incubator all through the night, she kept making it through each night, fighting back hard, her vitals were getting stronger by the day, then one day, they let her out and she was perfect. We held her close all through the days after that, then her mother got sick and passed. I knew my little girl would be a strong one, and she proved it to me, I have no doubt that she will fight this Virus and come back to us, back to where she belongs.' The Ox king finished as Goku looked at chichi who slept peacefully.

'I can't let her go yet, she isn't ready….' Goku said stroking her har and kissing her forehead

'I think it is you who isn't ready Goku'

'Is that a bad thing?'

'No, Just proves how much you need her'

'Yeah…. I need her, and I don't think she knows how much. I can only promise I will make it up to her'

'I know you will son. I know you will' The ox king smile as they continued to sit at her side, not leaving her.

….

Meanwhile, back at the deserted area where Piccolo fought Cell, Piccolo was having a huge rant as Krillen and Trunks kept their distance.

'Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!' Piccolo roared

'Wow, Piccolo's pulling a your dad.' Krillen joked to Trunks, and speak of the devil…..

'Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!' Vegeta Roared

'Oh, yeah. See?'

'And now we have this...' Trunks huffed as Vegeta lands and walks up to Piccolo angry and confused

'You! Namekian! Too strong! Explain now!' He ordered

'He fused with Kami so he could become stronger.' Trunks explained

'What the Hell's a Kami?

'Basically God.'

'HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE! YOU WILL NOT BE AS STRONG AS A SUPER SAYIEN!' Vegeta yelled as Tien Suddenly arrived to the scene too.

'Hey, finally found you guys. Just followed Vegeta's screaming. What'd I miss?' Tien asked

'Piccolo fused with Kami.' Krillen answered

'Oh, that finally came full circle.' Tien smirked

'More importantly, there's a new threat: another android created by Dr. Gero!' Piccolo warned everyone as they all gasped and are shocked to hear this.

'DO I HEAR FIVE?!' Vegeta roared

Meanwhile, Back at Kame house. Goku had fallen asleep on the couch while The Ox King and Gohan sat next to Chichi and Gohan kept her head cool with a damp cloth

'I want Mom back Grandpa? You think she's gonna be okay?' Gohan asked

'I know she will be Gohan, your mother is a strong woman, I should know, I raised her myself Afterall' the Ox kin answered

'I just wished I told her how sorry I am'

'Sorry? Why should you be sorry son?'

'Because I couldn't sense her distress, if I had stayed home with her, maybe she wouldn't be like this'

'You couldn't have known Gohan, This is not your fault, nobody blames you for this, not me and certainly not your father'

'We should have been with her, she must have been so scared when it began to affect her'

'Don't think like that, It won't help matters'

'I just want her to wake up and be okay and how she should be.'

'She will be soon Gohan, we just have to be patient, and pray your mother will be back to us soon, until then, we care for her' The Ox king instructed as Gohan nodded and watched over his mother.

…..

Back at the fighting ground, Piccolo had explained the situation to Vegeta, Krillen and Tien who now understood there was a new foe to deal with, and he wouldn't be taken down easily.

'So yeah, that's basically it in a nutshell.'

'So if Cell manages to find whatever he's missing, he'll become even stronger?' Tien asked

'I guess? He was pretty vague about it. No matter what, though, if he and the androids join forces, none of us will stand a chance.' Piccolo informed

'Says you!' Vegeta huffed

'And here we go...' Tien rolled his eyes

'I don't care how many people you fuse with, you'll never be as strong as a Super Saiyan.'

'Not really much of a milestone anymore.' Piccolo said

'As for me, I will find a level beyond a Super Saiyan.' Vegeta smirked as Tien began to tease

'So what? Like a Mega Saiyan? Ultra Saiyan?'

'You're mocking me.'

'Maximum Over-Saiyan?' Tien continued to annoy the Royal Sayien

'F**K OFF, TRICOLPS!' Vegeta roared and flies off

'Ugh! Let him go, he'll come back eventually' Krillen huffed as Trunks had a thought about something

'Crazy thought... If that Cell's from another timeline, then there's gotta be one in this timeline, too.' Trunks suggested

'Pretty sure that emotional episode you had earlier levelled Gero's lab.' Piccolo suggested

'Well, he was a mad scientist. Shot in the dark: maybe he's got a basement?' Krillen thought

'Hey yeah you could be right! I should go check it out!' Trunks said

'All right, then. Trunks, you go back to Gero's lab. I'm going after Cell.' Piccolo said

'I'm going with Trunks to go Gero's Lab' Krillen added

'And I'm going with Piccolo' Tien said

'Be carful you guys, we'll meet up with you guys later!' Krillen said as he and trunks took off.

'So How long you think until Goku will join us again?' Tien asked

'I don't know, I do know he will not leave his wife's side until she has recovered, I guess that's a relationship I'll never understand' Piccolo said

'I never realised how strong their relationship was until now. He really loves her' Tien sighed

'Yeah he does'

'And I hope, for his sake. Chichi will make it out of that Virus.' Tien said as Piccolo lowered his head

'Yeah….. Me too.'

…

Meanwhile, Trunks and Krillen flew back the exploding site of Gero's lab and landed at the rubble, exploring the ruins of Dr. Gero's lab. Krillen began to blast the ground as did trunks and eventually, found something. He sees a broken ladder leading beneath the rubble.

'Hey, there it is!' Trunks said

'Great Job Trunks, let's get this over with' Krillen suggested

'Yeha! Let's go! Come on!' Trunks said as the both of them float down inside

'I need to ask you a favour...' Trunks began

'What's that?'

'If we find anymore androids down here... Please don't tell my father.'

'Hehehe no promises buddy' Krillen chuckled as Trunks opens the door to the basement, revealing a super-computer

'Looks intact' Trunks said

'Yeah so let's look around' Krillen said as they looked around the lab, Trunks looks to his left and notices a tank

'Hey, so, if I were a gambling man...' Trunks pointed as Krillen looked and gasped

'Yep… I think its cell' he said and the tank reveals to be present Cell's fetus inside the tank 'Well, time to waste it.' Krillen said and was ready to blast it

'No, wait! Not yet!' he said and finds some papers on a table 'These... These are the schematics for the androids! We could use these to find a way to turn them off!' Trunks gasped

'Could be useful!'

'Yeah they could be! Also, it lists their real names! Lapis and Lazuli... And apparently, Android 16 was modelled after Gero's son!'

'I had no idea he had children' Krillen scrunched his face

'me either, so strange'

'Well, okay. Grab those and let's kill Cell!' Krillen said and went to destroy the tank

'Hold on, I-I've been thinking... Technically it's never done anything wrong... So...doesn't it have the right to life?' Trunks asked

'This isn't about a right to life! It's about making a choice... A choice we both need to make. A choice between a terrible mistake that can ruin lives and I say I am not ready to take that chance. Are you?' He asked as Trunks shook his head 'no' 'I thought not! Let's Do This!' Krillen yelled and fires a blast at fetus Cell's tank, destroying it as the basement starts caving in!

'All right, let's get out of here before this place comes down on our heads.' Trunks yells

'Right! Let's Go!' Krillen yelled as both of them managed to make it outside and Krillen concocted a final blast to Gero's Lab

'DESTRUCTO DISK!' Krillen fires one last blast at the basement, creating an enormous explosion

'Well that's one problem solved' Trunks said

'Yeah now to just deal with the future Cell'

'So what now?' Trunks asked

'we should get those papers to Bulma and Dr Briefs, maybe there's a chance we can stop the

androids' Krillen stated

'You go ahead and get these to my Mom, I'm gonna go find my father' Trunks stated

'You thinks that's a good idea?'

'Nope, but I need to' Trunks huffed

'Let's just hope it all comes together' Krillen softly smiled

'Yes, and Let's hope we'll have Goku back'

'Yeah, we will. And he will be back with us soon, when Chichi is better' Krillen said confidently as Trunks nodded agreeing as they both took off into the sky going in the opposite direction.

….

Piccolo and Tien searched High and Low for Cell, but no luck. Piccolo and Tien landed on a highway and investigated a bus crash with clothes scattered on the floor.

'He's been here' Piccolo said

'Yeah, he isn't gonna stop is he?' Tien said

'No he isn't. and we're gonna need some help'

'Any ideas?' Tien asked

'Yeah, we need Goku. I'm gonna go back to kame house and warn him. He'll want to know what's going on.

'He isn't gonna leave Chichi's side until she's recovered from the heart Virus'

'I know, but I can prepare him for what's coming'

'Prepare him for what? The androids….. Or cell?' Tien asked

'Both' Piccolo huffed as they both Took off into the sky. Wondering just how much Progress Chichi has made since she began to take the medicine.

Chichi Pov

The place was dark, I couldn't see anything or hear anything. Everything was just dark!

'Where am I…...? Hello?' I called out, nobody answered me, it was strange, suddenly a light appeared before me, I walked towards the light and I found myself in a desert canyon. Strange place to end up. I couldn't see anyone, but it looked normal, the sun was out, there was nice breeze in the air. Looked like a regular day, when suddenly.

*BOOM* *CRASH*

I heard an explosion I whirl round to where the sound came from, finding nothing. No one Around to make that noise. All around stands a barren land, not a single soul in sight. The living seem almost... non-existent. The soil sits cracked and dry, the scorching sun blazing mercilessly high in the cloudless sky, absorbing whatever moisture there is left.

'What's happening? Where's everyone?' I asked when I heard it again

*BOOM* *CRASH*

Another blast abruptly pierces through the silence I clasp my hands to my ears as the blast continues to echo in my head, the noise loud and persistent. Amidst all the deafening ringing, I hear something else. I ran towards the noise when I saw a huge crash site, like someone had released a huge energy blast and launched it at the earth, or at somebody. Suddenly I heard something else, like a soft, dull thud, sounding too much like flesh and limbs collapsing onto the earth. My heart skips a beat and I turn round instinctively at where the blast finished... And the very scene that meets my eyes made my blood run cold I'm hardly aware that my breathing quickens, hardly aware of the tears that sting my eyes and blurs my vision.

This... this can't be happening. No, not to him...I shake my head in disbelief, trying to clear the mirage. It has to be an illusion... But it isn't There, on the ground, lay Goku's unmoving body, something wet staining his orange and blue gi, spreading profusely outwards from his chest, right above the heart. Blood... Blood pools from beneath him, growing like it'll never end as the dry earth greedily steals whatever it can for itself. My breath catches, and I stagger back in shock and horror His eyes, midnight eyes all but stares blankly at me, no traces of life in their depths.

'No. No! Goku, what happened?! Please don't go! You can't die! Not again!'

'Oh poor Goku, looks like he's not getting up again…. Ever'

I look up to the voice, the action allowing the tears to escape from my eyes, falling and creating hot trails that scald my cheeks. In a pathetic attempt, I try to brush them away, only to find that I can't. I simply can't... the grief is too painful to bare. Why did this have to happen? Why... Goku? Through a haze of tears, I manage to make out a distorted figure standing next to Goku, actually there were 2 figures. One man with black hair and a woman with blonde hair, I couldn't sense their energy and I took a guess on who they are. It was the androids! The distinct colour of their eyes grab my attention. Staring back helplessly into a pair of dark orbs I see the coldness fade in them, replaced by a maniacal gleam that make me shudder. Their lips crooked in a smile move, yet the low voice that spoke resounded only in my mind.

'Look at what you've done.' Swallowing a painful lump in my throat, I let the words sink in, unconsciously biting my lip so hard I taste the tang of blood. I can't find any meaning in the sentence, but my chest begins to hurt so much it feels numb. Harsh and bitter laughter erupts from the 2 evil figures before me, breaking the trance their dark eyes has put me into.

'Oh you think it was just him? Take a look around you' the blonde smirked as I looked across the canyon and that was when I realised Goku was not their only victim. I saw…. EVERYONE! Vegeta beaten down dead, along with Krillen, Yamcha, Master Roshi, Tien, Chioautzu, Piccolo and….. NO NOOOOOOO GOHAN!

'The kid put up a fight. But he didn't stand a chance' The dark haired android grinned

'You Killed My Baby! You Killed My Husband! Why!? WHYYYYY?!' I screamed at the top of my lungs when they suddenly began to laugh at me

'Face the facts woman! You are alone! And You're family is gone!' The blonde began to laugh harder and harder along with the other android! Their laughter echoed through my mind, getting louder and louder! I fell to my knees and cried harder and harder and cover my ears to block out the noise of their laughter but it wasn't working! They just kept laughing through my ears!

'NOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOO STOP IT! STOP IT! MAKE IT STOP! AHHHHHHHHHHH!' I screamed hoping anyone could answer my plea.

…

'NOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOO STOP IT! STOP IT! MAKE IT STOP! AHHHHHHHHHHH!' Chichi screamed in her sleep, her vice sounding raw and seat pouring over her body! Goku woke up and ran to her aid and tried to soothe her

'Chichi! You're having a nightmare! Please Honey wake up! Its all in your head!'

'NOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOO MAKE IT STOP! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP! AHHHHH!' She screamed and held her head in pan and writhed around aggressively on the bed! Gohan ran into the room and panicked

'Dad! What do we do!?'

'Give her the medicine Gohan, I'll hold her!' Goku instructed as Gohan grabbed the bottle and Goku held her in his arms Tightly as she continued to writhe! Gohan Gently placed the medicine in his mother's mouth as her screaming died down and her body went limb. Her breathing returned to normal and she gently slept, Goku layed her down on the bed again as Goku sat by her

'Please Chichi, I can't do this anymore! I need you back here. I can't be without you! Please come out of this in one piece!' Goku begged as Gohan sat with her too

'She'll come back dad, we just gotta wait'

'Yeah? For how long?' Goku asked as there was a knock on the door

'Who is it?' Gohan called out as the door opened and Piccolo arrived

'Piccolo! What is it?' Goku asked

'Goku we got a problem!' Piccolo said

'What is it? Is it the androids?'

'No we got another problem!'

'What problem?' Goku asked

'Another Android… Called Cell!'
