Chapter 8 - You're My Strength Chichi

Everyone was so confused as to how this had happened. They truly believed she was getting better but they were wrong, it would seem the virus was too strong for her. Goku held Chichi's body close to him and cried hard. Why had fate been so cruel to him and Gohan? She had done nothing wrong! Goku looked over at her bedside and saw her locket sitting there, he grabbed it and held it close to him. He had bought it for her on their first anniversary and she never took it off. He needed it close to him as well as his wife. Gohan couldn't stop crying and the others were in shock and grief. Goku was lost for words, He felt that her death was his fault and he will never forgive himself.

'Why did you have to take her from me? She was my girl. I would have given my life for her. Take my life right now but bring her back' he sobbed and cried as he held her locket close to him. He felt that without his wife, his life didn't make any sense. The only reason why he chooses not to die, it was for Gohan. Gohan was crying hard with Krillen comforting him. All the warriors were lost for words at the loss. They believed she was getting better. But Chichi lost her battle with the virus and was gone. Gohan also had a huge amount of pain in his heart. He couldn't believe that his mother was gone and wasn't going to see her face ever again. He let out his tears run down his cheeks because he couldn't held them back anymore. He burst into tears and cried on his father's shoulder.

'I know, I know, Son. But we have to try and be brave like your mom was, ok?' He told him was he wiped off his tears with his thumb and he put his head on his shoulder again and he pats his back. This pain of losing Chichi was too much for Goku and he hated knowing the fact that there was no chance of her being revived. He also feared that now he had to raise Gohan without her and that Chichi is not going to teach him or care for him or love him like the mother she was.

'This is unreal….' Yamcha gasped

'I can't believe it, I thought she was gonna be fine…' Krillen choked on his words

'I suppose the virus was too strong' Roshi lowered his head.

'Mom…' Gohan cried with Goku hardly saying a word since her death, His pain was too much, he needed some alone time to think this through

'Krillen, can you watch Gohan for a few hours?'

'Of course, Buddy' he couldn't begin to understood the pain he was in right now but understood that he needed a moment to be alone.

He headed to the ocean, the noise of the tide washing in was some form of comfort but not enough, everything that had happened He felt that this was his fault for not being able to do more for Chichi, if there was a way of fighting it himself than he would do so in a heartbeat. He looked at the ocean, from a point to the end, hopping that Chichi would come out from nowhere s and she would run back to his arms. But it was no use and there was no comfort for his hopeful thoughts and it crushed Goku's heart like if he got shot with a bullet in the head or in the chest.

In his opinion, it was less painful than that or getting smashed to pieces for him than losing his girl, the love of his life, and the mother of his child. And if he would rather die or to have something terrible happen to him to have Chichi alive again bring her back to his side, he would take the chance and risk as long as she was alive and with him. But he lost hope of ever believing that Chichi would return home but why bother, he searched for her long enough in every place possibly he could think of but there was no trace of her or clue of where to find her or see her again.

Goku sat down on the sand as the water raise up to his shoulders, he started to tear up again and looked down at the water and saw a reflection of Chichi but it washed away. He started crying and it was shocking for him because he thought that he was strong enough to not feel an emotion like pain or sadness. But he was wrong because he was feeling them both, strongly. The suffering of losing Chichi was something too painful for him and it made him realize that he wasn't made of stone and that he should let out all of his pain. Goku look back up at the horizon as tears run down his cheeks. Goku felt that there was nothing he could do to bring Chichi back and he felt that it was his fault for not protecting her enough.

'I love you, Chichi. With everything I've got and I will always love you. The first time I saw you again, you saved me in a way you will never understand. I love you, Chichi. And I will never forget you. You're the bravest and most beautiful girl on this earth' Goku cried and wiped off his tears. His pain was too much for him, he thought he was going to go crazy or something. He was all alone, with only his Son now but he still couldn't believe that his wife was gone and he felt even worse knowing that it was his fault she was dead.

Everybody was heartbroken about Chichi's death, but the one heart that he thought that would never heal again was Goku's. He slowly and opened up Chichi's locket to reveal a picture of the 3 of them, Gohan as a new-born baby. Chichi always said that picture was her favourite and wanted to keep it close to her always. He looked at it as he thought of her and all the times they were happy together. And how the pain was too much for him and how he thought that there was nothing he could do to bring her back and hold her one last time in his arms and to kiss her sweet red lips one more time.

'Chichi…. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' Goku screamed in pain at the sky and started crying and sobbing again. His power level grew increasingly high and suddenly went super sayien! He felt like he wanted to die, his heart was hurting too much. He looked up at the sky and stars and he wished that something could bring Chichi back to him. But he was suffering to much over Chichi, the girl that ever changed him for the better and the only girl he ever truly loved with all his heart. He knew that there was nothing he could do to bring her back. But he will always love her with all his heart like when he first time he saw her. Goku felt like he wanted to kill himself to stop all the pain, but he couldn't, he needed to take care of Gohan like he promised Chichi, but it hurt him even more because Gohan looked a lot like Chichi in certain features, but he could never hate his son or even think about it because he lost his wife. Every second that he couldn't live without her was torture and too painful for him. He had never suffered so much after the death of his father but there were no words of how much he was suffering over losing Chichi was something he couldn't image before and he never wanted to but sadly, it happened. Chichi was like Goku's own heart, and by taking her away from him, he felt like his heart was torn out painfully of his chest and it yearn for her because Chichi was the only owner of his heart but he realized that there was not possible way that he could never get it or worst her back. He would never stop loving her. And he decided to make a vow to her. He held on to her locket and sealed it together and he holds it tight as he said.

'And to prove to you of how much I love you, I will never forget or stop loving you, And I will take care of our son and protect him and love him as much as I loved you, my Chichi, because he will remind me of you, always. Since day 1 when I first saw you again, the first time I saw you again I thought you were the most beautiful being I had ever layed eyes on. Not that I had the strength to tell you but I wish I did. Because I never got to tell you how much you meant to me from that day onwards. From our fight, to our wedding and to the birth of our son, those were the best moments of my life and I will cherish them forever. I will always love you, with all my heart and with all my soul. My Princess, my fighter, my wife, my love, my Chichi' he smiled as he finished describing what everything Chichi was to him and he sighs as he held onto the locket tight never wanting to let go of it. He crawled into a ball and wrapped his arms around his knees, his power level went down and he was back in his original state, and started crying again and he stayed there for the whole day.

Piccolo sat next to Gohan who was laying next to his mother and couldn't stop crying, Piccolo couldn't help but feel for him. The woman hadn't done anything wrong and she had suffered like that. He looked at her and there was something….strange about what had happened. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something was defiantly strange about the matter of her death.

'Gohan… I'm sorry for your loss' Piccolo said

'I hate this piccolo! She doesn't deserve this. She hasn't done anything wrong! I want my mother back' Gohan cried and rested his head on her chest as he cried

'You need to be brave now kid, your mother wouldn't want you to be like this'

'You know that for certain?'

'Yes. Because your mother was strong, and she would want you to be just as strong for her now, you know I'm right' Piccolo said as Gohan held his mom tighter and wanted to be close to his mom before anything was to happen

'I miss her piccolo. This isn't fair, she cant be…..wait' Gohan gasped and shot up

'Gohan, what is it?' Piccolo asked as Gohan rested his head on her chest again and there it was…..a very ….very quiet…. faint….

Heartbeat…!

SHE WAS ALIVE!

'SHE'S ALIVE!' Gohan screamed

'WHAT!?' Piccolo gasped and looked at her, he heard it too, there was a heartbeat, but it was so faint, it was as if she was on the verge of beating her last.

'DAD DAD! DAAAAAAAAAD!' Gohan screamed in hope as Goku flew back into the room towards his son

'Gohan what?!' Goku asked

'Mom! Mom is alive!' Gohan exclaimed as Goku gasped and ran over to her and looked at her, her skin was pale, her body was still, he rested his head on her chest and he could only just hear her heartbeat too! There was hope! Her pulse was so very weak, it would seem she didn't have one at all! Goku and Gohan had hope, she was still alive!

'She's alive!' Goku cheered

'She's dying' Piccolo said as Gohan and Goku gasped

'She can't be!'

'She can't take anymore medication, it isn't enough for her, her heartbeat is growing fainter by the second, any beat could be her last'

'There has to be something we can do!' Gohan yelled

'Piccolo anything! Please there has to be something!' Goku begged as Piccolo was lost for words

'I don't know what to do. I'm not sure how your bodies function!' Piccolo argued

'Well in hospitals, when someone's heartbeat grows fainter, it kinda means the person has gone into cardiac arrest and they need to be revived' Gohan said

'How do they do that?' Goku asked

'They use a machine called a defibrillator, its an apparatus used to control heart fibrillation by application of an electric current to the chest wall or heart.'

'But we don't have anything like that!' Goku yelled

'Move out the way!' Piccolo yelled as he went over to chichi and placed his hand over her chest and sent and energy blast through her as Goku and Gohan stepped back

'Piccolo! What are you doing?!' Goku asked

'Trying to revive her!' Piccolo said and sent another beam through her body, 'maybe it could increase her heart beat ratio back to her original state' He thought

'Piccolo…. Please bring her back' Gohan whispered as Piccolo kept trying, he sent another beam, through her as a huge light erupted blinding the 3 fighters and the light shun out of the windows of Kame house, the light died down as Goku and Gohan looked over at piccolo, who was panting for breath, he had used a fair bit of his energy, Goku ran over to chichi who appeared so still in her bed. Goku looked on hopeful

'Ch….Chichi?' Goku whispered and looked at her, she was so still she was so pale, it seemed piccolo's revival plan hadn't worked.

'I'm sorry Goku, I tried' Piccolo huffed out of breath as Gohan broke down

'No no no not yet!' Goku tried to look at her too to see if he could try and bring her strength back to her body! Suddenly, An idea leapt into his mind. He had only done it once before, and it had been more than a little rough. He'd have to be sure to be careful. Gohan and piccolo stepped back to Let Goku save his wife, he clasped Chi-Chi's hand in his and closed his eyes. He focused on his ki, making it flow like water from his hands into her body. It may not cure the virus but it could damn well keep her alive until the medicine cures it! Goku's Ki moved smoothly and slowly for a few seconds, then got away from him and stuttered, coming in quick jolts, all of a sudden Goku went super sayien to balance out the control that flowed from his ki To Chichi's Ki. Gohan looked upon this act and saw the desperation in his dad's eyes, there used to be a time he's question his father's love for his mother, but seeing this intense desperate plea to save her, there were no longer any doubts. His mother was the reason Goku needed to get stronger, why needed her to be there for him when he needed her! She's the source of his strength! The energy that flowed came to a very drastic stop as Goku gasped and let go of her, falling off the side of the bed, feeing drained, he was afraid he had just made things worse. He powered down again and looked back up at his wife who was so still in those moments, Goku felt like dying there and then, it hadn't worked! She was so still, and quiet, it was all hopeless…

Until….

'*GASP* *COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH*' She gasped and coughed hard as Goku and Gohan cried laughing! She was Alive! Chichi's breath came back to her and her pulse was stronger! Piccolo and Goku had saved her from the brink of death, she just needed a boost in energy. Goku stroked her hair and held onto her, he could feel her near again! Gohan ran to the other side of the bed and held her hand

'Mom! Its us! You're gonna be okay!' Gohan kissed her hand and walked over to piccolo and hugged him tight, Piccolo didn't know how to respond and just let Gohan hug him

'You and Dad saved her Piccolo! Thank you! Thank you so much! I will never forget this!' Gohan cried as Did Goku

'Piccolo, I can't begin to thank you! You saved her life and I will always be grateful' Goku smiled as Piccolo nodded

'I tried, it was you she responded to' Piccolo answered

'You helped just as much as what I did. I'll never forget this, Thank you Piccolo'

'But I still don't understand, she DID die!' Piccolo exclaimed

'Huh?' Gohan said confused

'She was dead, there was no heartbeat before otherwise we would have done this sooner, she did die. How could she suddenly start her own heart up again? She's a human being, I've never heard any human doing something like that, So How did she bounce back from death itself before any of this? ' Piccolo wondered, this female was not normal. Goku gave Piccolo a smile and looked back at his wife.

'Because she's Chichi, Our chichi, and she wasn't ready' Goku smiled as Gohan nodded

'I'll never understand this, but at least she found a way back'

'Yeah and you helped her too Piccolo! Thank you' Gohan smiled

'Sure kid, She's your father's strength, can't let that slip away can we? We got an enemy to fight, as soon as Your wife recovers' Piccolo smirked as Goku nodded

'Will she be okay now dad?' Gohan asked

'I have no idea. I thought she would come round from that energy beaming through her, but I guess the virus is still keeping her under. One thing's for sure, I am not leaving her side until she is up and about' Goku said

'I'm gonna let the others know she's alive' Gohan ran downstairs as Piccolo followed him, Goku looked and chichi smiled happily

'I begged the Kai's to bring you back, and they did. So please wake up soon chichi, don't make me go through that pain again. I can't begin to tell you what that was like, but I guess you have an idea about it too. But please come back soon, chi, I need you. I love you' Goku sighed and layed next to her.

…..

Gohan had informed the others about Chichi's health and they were all relived. Is was the best news they had heard all day. To know she was not dead. Goku stayed by Chichi's side ever since he knew she was alive. He couldn't bring himself to leave her out of his sight. There was a small knock on the door as Master Roshi walked into the room with a tray of food for Goku.

'Can't remember the last time I ate' Goku said

'You better eat something son, you need to keep your strength up' Roshi replied

'Thanks master Roshi. I just hope she'll come around soon' Goku replied as Roshi smiled

'She has a remarkable hold over you'

'Huh?'

'Chichi, the hold she has on you is powerful. You haven't even thought about fighting in the last 9 days, She must mean so much to you, I had no idea exactly how much' Roshi chuckled

'She's my wife. I never knew she had this hold over me either, but she's the reason I get stronger, why I need to be stronger. Because I need to protect her. I can't describe it but, in a way, she's my strength, the source of my power. It just took her to be ill to make me realise it' Goku replied

'Then we better make sure your strength doesn't leave you'

'It won't, its strong, she is strong' Goku smiled softly and yawned

'You better get some sleep son, you could use it, you have used a fair amount of your energy when you gave it to her. Go and sleep on a bed' Roshi ordered

'Yes master' Goku nodded as Roshi left the room. Goku looked at his chi and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek and walked to a bedroom across the hall and fell asleep on the bed as the moon shined down and night was upon them.

The sun rose up high in the sky as Goku felt the sun's rays on his face. His eyes squinted and slowly opened them up. He got up and splashed some water on his face waking him up. A knock on the door caught his attention as Master Roshi walked in.

'Morning master Roshi' Goku greeted

'Hello Goku' Roshi greeted

'Its quiet here, where is everyone, is Gohan okay?' He asked

'They all took off in the plane, I think they mentioned they were gonna go looking for Cell, Gohan said he'd be back as soon as possible to check on his mother' Roshi said as Goku nodded, some fresh air could do Gohan some good, Speaking of his mother he better check on her. He walked into her room and his eyes widened in Horror…SHE WAS GONE!

'MASTER ! CHICHI IS GONE!' Goku yelled as Roshi chuckled softly 'What's so funny?!' Goku asked

'Son, you might want to look outside…' Roshi pointed as Goku scrunched his face in confusion and looked outside out the window and what a sight he saw! He was lost for words to what he saw! He couldn't believe it…!

It was her!

It was CHICHI!

She was awake and doing some high kicks and punches in the air, It would seem she was regaining her strength, her hair flowing in the wind and her energy returning to her. He couldn't believe his eyes she was awake!

Goku jumped out of the window of kame house and walked towards her, she wasn't noticing as she was still throwing punches in the air, she then looked towards the ocean and began to form a familiar technique, something Goku had done enough times but never EVER thought he'd be seeing her do it!

'KAAAA…..MEEE….HAAAA….MEEEE…' She chanted as Roshi looked on in awe and shock

'IS SHE DOING A KAMEHAMEHA?!' Roshi Screeched as Goku looked on proudly as the energy flowed around her into the ball that formed in her hand!

'Come on chi….' He quietly rooted for her

'HAAAAAAAAAA!' She blast a fast powerful beam through her hands as it crashed through the waves of the sea, Goku could not believe she just did that! He was mesmerised! She was here! She was okay! And she was Training!? This day was getting crazier by the minute! She looked down at herself and realised what she had just done too, ever since she woke up, she felt 10 times stronger than her average power level, it was so strange! She clenched her fist and relaxed them again, feeling the difference in her strength.

'Well you don't see that everyday' she said to herself and thought if she worked on it, maybe it could be bigger and better, she continued her kata and threw kicks and punches into the air at full speed as Goku began to take paces towards her, she threw her last punch and stopped. She felt a presence, a loving familiar presence. She turned around and there she saw some familiar and beautiful midnight eyes that she recognized anywhere, she saw the love of her life, smiling at her like he couldn't believe it and he thought he was dreaming, a dream that he didn't wanted to be awaken but he realized that it was real and that the girl he truly loves was a few feet away from him.

He took a few slow steps toward her, mesmerized by her beauty and she stood still and she gave him the biggest smile she had, which he thought it made her glow like never before, he really missed her and she missed him most of all! She didn't know or imagine the pain and suffer that he went through without her, and when he believed that she was dead, he didn't think he would survive not even 1 day without her because he couldn't live without her, especially when he needed her with their Son, and not wanting to lose her, not back then and not ever!

Chichi thought of him every second when she was asleep and fighting the virus and feared she would never get back to him and see his handsome dark eyes again. He saw that she looked more beautiful than he ever picture her, with that beautiful long midnight hair, that glowing smile and those incredible eyes of hers that he feared that he would never see them again but he could stair at her like it was the first time he laid eyes on her all over again. Goku kept smiling like Chichi was at him, without saying a word to each other, they were both gazing at the other, lovingly and surprised. Chichi was shinning in her loose Purple short sleaved cheongsam as Goku walked closer to her, slowly. Still walking slowly to one another.

Chichi started hearing his voice in her head, everything that he was saying to her as she was sleeping, his words and his fear, they must have been an absolute hell for him and their son. But his sweet comforting words are what was getting her through it. She let out a happy chuckle and smiled at him with tears in her eyes. Hearing Goku's sweet voice in her head, and saying how much he loved her, she felt her tears run down her cheeks. Not holding it back no more and after hearing that last part in her head, Chichi ran at full speed with her hair moving side to side and in less than milliseconds, she jumped into his arms, crying and burying her face in his neck and he places his jaw on her head while she lifted her legs up.

Then she put her head on his shoulder and started crying on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his neck. Goku was crying too, but this time with joy, with happiness and with love. His wish came true, he got his Chichi back, and he wasn't alone anymore and never again. Then he heard Roshi chuckling behind them, pleased to see Goku happy that his wife was back. He of all people was pleased for Chichi's return and beating the virus, watching Goku and Chichi be together again.

Soon Goku reaches for her hips and he spins his beautifully recovered wife in his arms as he kisses her sweet lips. For him, they tasted a little dry but he didn't complain because he knew she had been sleeping for the last 10 days! 10 days without his wife watching her fight the heart virus but he didn't care and he didn't want to talk about that right now. Goku wanted to know what it was like for her to be fighting the mysterious heart virus that he still did not know how it infected her instead of him, but for now, he just held on to Chichi in his arms until he finally let her go and puts her down.

'I knew it. I knew you were gonna come back' he whispered in between a kiss.

'Of course I would! You didn't give up on me did you?'

'It was touch and go for a moment chi, But I knew how strong you were, you had to come back to us!'

'Well I'm back now Goku, everything is gonna be okay now' She smiled

'Are you sure you're all better now?' Goku asked as Chichi smirked and made him put her down and got in a fighting stance 'Chi?'

'Let's have it out' She smirked as He looked nervous

'Are you sure?' he asked

'Yes. Come on'

'I don't know about this'

'Son Goku, are you scared of a challenge, and there I thought I married the worlds bravest strongest man' she teased

'You did!'

'Well then, prove it' she smirked

'Alright, Let's do this!' He said as Chichi charged at him as Goku dodged all her punches, she may not have been able to land a punch but her speed was improved and she felt stronger, it would seem the sleep or the medication has improved her strength. Goku grabbed her fist in his hand and pulled her towards him and pressed his lips against hers as she giggled into the kiss, he would have killed to hear her giggle again and now he had her back and he couldn't be happier. Roshi approached the two of them and smiled

'Chichi, its good to see you are awake and recovered, how do you feel?' He asked

'I feel okay, it would seem that medicine did the trick, and for some reason my power seems a lot stronger then usual, like someone had transferred their power to me' She replied

'That was me and Piccolo, you body was shutting down so we passed on our energy to help you regian your strength' Goku answered as Chichi looked at him in shock and flattery

'You gave me your energy? Piccolo too?'

'I needed you back, I couldn't carry on with anything unless you were there to fight for'

'Goku….. I don't know what to say….. thank you' she whispered and hugged him tightly as he pulled her into his arms

'Its good to see you've recovered. And I hate to break this up but Goku, you know what has to be done now' Roshi informed the Sayien who frowned and nodded looking into the distance. He made a promise, now it was time to keep it.

Goku got dressed as chichi sat on the bed. She watched him prepare himself for his plan and she smiled. He looked back at her and grinned

'What are you thinking about?' He asked

'Two things actually, the first thing is I need to Thank piccolo for saving me, he needs just as much credit' she answered

'I agree, if it wasn't for him, then I wouldn't have tried to do the same thing because I thought you were already dead'

'I know. And for a moment there I thought I was a goner too'

'And what was the second thing?' Goku asked as she smirked

'Well all of this power I got flowing in me, I'm wondering how long I've got it for, how much energy I can muster, how much stamina I have for certain… activities?' she whispered as he looked at her and smirked also. Pushing her down on the bed and kissed her hard, then his lips fining her neck making her giggle, just hearing her giggle or even breathing was enough comfort for him now that he knew she was gonna be okay!

'I promise, when I get beck, you and I will have time together' He promised

'I know, I'll be here waiting for you, you know that'

'Yeah, I've missed being close to you chi. And we'll have all the time in the world when I get back from training, Cell needs to be stopped' he said and jumped off the bed as Chichi sat up and softly smiled.

'Your gonna take Gohan aren't you?' She asked

'I have to, I need him Chi, he can help me get stronger, and I know what you're gonna say about him studying and stuff but…'

'Take him with you Goku, I understand completely' she said getting up from the bed and handed him his wristbands and waistband.

'Y…You do? Really?' He gasped

'Of course I do! He needs you to make him strong too. So take him and help each other, just promise me you'll be careful though right?' She said as he tightened the waistband on his waist and placed the wristbands on his wrists and gave her a chuckle

'Of course, I plan for us to be stronger than super Sayiens' with that Comment, Roshi gasped and broke the door knob and looked at the couple

'WHATS THAT? Did you say Stronger than a super Sayien?! I don't think it can be done' Roshi informed the Sayien as Goku smirked confidently.

'Nah we can do it, It's the only way to beat Cell, And I won't know unless I try Will i? A year! To know for sure, A year is all I'll need' Goku grinned as Roshi and Chichi looked at one another in confusion

'A year? Are you sure?' Chichi asked

'A year?! But that's a long time' Roshi exclaimed

'Sure it is, but we both know a place where it can be done in a day' Goku grinned as Chichi looked worried, Goku noticed her expression and smiled softly 'Don't worry yourself Chichi' He said

'I can't help it, A year will be long for the both of you. I just don't want you getting hurt' She said as he lifted her chin to look at him

'We will be fine chi, And once its done, we'll come back to you. I promise'

'Don't worry about me, I want you and Gohan to give it all you got!'

'Thanks Babe'

'I could never argue with you, you big lug' She said in her head and gave him a tight hug 'Goku, I don't know what I'd do without you' She smiled as he accepted her embrace and stayed there, not wanting to let go of her as Roshi looked on while trying to fix the door knob.

'Aww that's sweet' He said as the door knob fell out of his hands and bounced on the floor, catching the couples attention, they released one another and smiled

'You sure you're gonna be okay, you just woke up' Goku said

'Don't worry about me, I'm not the one who's gonna fight'

'I'll look after her Goku' Roshi ensured

'You go, Tell Gohan I love him' She said

'That goes for me too?' He asked as she smiled softly and placed her hands on his face

'And I will be, I promise. Now go do what you do best' She smiled

'Well see ya' He said kissed her sweetly, this would be his last kiss with her for a whole year, whereas to her, it was just a day, he pulled away and rested his forehead on hers 'I'll miss you Chichi'

'I'll miss you too' She responded and stepped back he placed his two fingers on his head concentration to The whereabouts of the others, but before he went, he shot one last look at his beautifully recovered wife, he wanted to see her one more time before not being able to see her for a whole year and then disappeared, Chichi gave a soft smile as he left

'Come back soon' She whispered. He had Gone to the Hyperbolic time chamber.

A couple of Days before the Cell Games. Chichi and Goku were lying down on the grass under the hot sun. Gohan and Krillen were out fishing leaving the couple alone to relax. Chichi rested her head on Goku's chest as he stroked her back-drawing circles on her back shoulder.

Chichi turned to her husband, who was now gazing up on the clouds and the birds flying above them, This, what they were doing, reminded her of the days when they were newlyweds. They were lying down in the shade of a blooming cherry blossom tree; he was holding her protectively as she snuggled up against his warmth; Chichi was soon lost in her memories. She must have let her eyes linger on his large form for too long as Goku soon noticed her glossy stare and look over at her.

'What's wrong Chi?' he asked lovingly to comfort her since she seemed a bit on edge. Coming back to her senses, Chichi pulled her thoughts together.

'Hmm? Oh Nothing, It's just…you've never not gone a day with no training before a big fight, You're fighting Cell in two days.' she stated quietly. Goku looked down at her worried eyes and softly smiled.

'Well Gohan and I did a lot of it in the chamber. We've trained enough so now he needs something else to take his mind off the coming battle with Cell, whether that's studying or enjoying time with his friends' Goku spoke with a serious tone. His words would be the last thing said for a while as the pair fell silent. At hearing the name of the monster that was bound to harm her son, Chichi quickly turned back to look at the sky, her hands clinging on to his clothes a bit tightly, he could feel her intensity and her fear of what would happen, and he couldn't blame her, but maybe she could understand what he and Gohan went through when she was ill with the heart virus. They thought their own hearts had been ripped out and passed around like a ball.

The Saiyan man suddenly sat up from their embrace, chichi layed down on the grass as he turned around and he gazed at his wife. His eyes travelled up her form, taking in how wonderful she looked in her violet Qipao dress. The morning sun shone down on her, creating a gentle glow on her dress as the silver sequins that adorned it glimmered in the sunlight whenever she moved on the grass.

Chichi continued to look up into the sky when she caught Goku staring at her. He flashed her, his trademark happy go lucky grin as he knew he had been caught red handed. The young woman gave a smile as Goku leaned down and kissed her passionately, it seemed to reassure a little, she happily accepted his kiss and he pulled away.

'You are so beautiful…' he whispered to her between their kiss 'And I don't want you to worry about the fight with Cell. You don't deserve that burden.' He said

'I can't help but worry, but I guess I know how you felt when I was ill'

'Not being able to do anything for you it was driving me mad. I can only imagine what it must have been like for you'

'Its all such a blur now' she whispered as Goku scrunched his face in wonder and confusion.

'There are two things that still bug me though chi' he admitted as she truend to look at him

'What's that?' she asked

'The first thing being, why were you affected? Trunks said that I was supposed to get ill but I didn't, I waited for the symptoms to show but I got nothing, if I had known you were getting them I would have helped you sooner! But why did you get sick and I didn't?' Goku wondered

'I have no idea Goku, and you're not the only one who feels like that, If I had investigated my headaches before the build up of the virus taking affect, then I wouldn't have put you in that position. And I wish I could tell you why I got ill instead, but I guess fate decided to play a different card this time' she said softly

'Maybe, and the other thing is…. How did you come back?'

'What do you mean?' She asked

'You died in that bed chi, I didn't feel your heartbeat, you had no pulse. You WERE dead! So how did you suddenly come back?' Goku asked

'I… I think I know….' She answered as Goku looked at her intrigued

'Tell me'

'When I died, all I could see was darkness, like there was nothing but me and this void. Then when I turned around there was a figure there. I couldn't see her, but I knew it was a her. She said that my time was not up. I needed to go back, and then she pushed me back out of the void, as if she placed my spirit back in my body before I could reach the afterlife. It was all so vague and I never saw her face, all I knew she is the reason I bounced back'

'Do you thik this person knew who gave the virus to you?' Goku asked

'Maybe, and maybe she thought she couldn't save me from getting the virus, but she could save me from death. Give me a chance to bounce back into life. But why save me? I didn't even know who she was'

'No….. But maybe she knew you' Goku said as Chichi gasped, could it have been….? Chichi gave a sighe and smiled

'Well whoever she was. I am glad she did save me. And you and Piccolo from bringing me back too, I think if it hadn't been for you, I would have fallen back into that dark place'

'Can you remember much while you were sleeping?' Goku asked

'Not much, only a few parts'

'Like what?'

'Well….. All I know that it was dark at first, I was trying to look for a way out, see some light, but every time I thought I was finding a way out, it was like a fire had engulfed around me and I was burning. I looked passed the flames and I saw….. I saw you. I saw Gohan. And Krillen, and piccolo, and Bulma… all of our friends lying dead before my eyes and I couldn't die with you! It was like someone was making me watch your lifeless bodies and know I was never going to feel the relief of death to stop my pain, all I could do was scream. Especially when I could sense your distress and pain along side mine' Chichi explained

'My pain?' He asked

'Every time I screamed or cried, I felt your ki rise in anger and anguish, like you were hurting yourself because you couldn't help me.'

'You know that?' He asked

'I felt you're pain. I felt you with me through that whole ordeal. And despite the hell I had gone through, I was so happy you were, even though we both were suffering, it was comfort to know you were there with me, both physically and mentally'

'You said you'd do it for me, you made me that promise remember?'

'Yeah I do, but you didn't have to'

'Of course I did, Chichi you still don't understand how much you mean to me, When I sensed your distress, I thought I was gonna die, because I thought you were dying, those 10 days was like the devil punishing me in his kingdom. No one understands my love for you because you're more than my love, you're my fuel to be a better fighter, the reason I want to be stronger, Your are how I'm so strong, You are my Strength Chichi' Goku exclaimed as Chichi lovingly smiled and kissed him hard

'You Son Goku, are the best thing that has ever happened to me. And whatever happens to either of us, We will find our way back to each other' She said

'We will, Because we Are strong, and Nothing will break us'

'Nothing at all'

'I Love You Chichi' Goku smiled

'I Love you Too Goku' Chichi answered back as They sweetly kissed under the shade of the cherry tree as they happily enjoyed the time they had left with each other, Just goes to show how much power and strength a Person can bring to you when They are the essence of your whole being. Goku knows the source of his strength, and that person was Chichi. His chichi, And nothing and nobody would ever change that for him. Ever. Their love will thrive overall.
