School ended.
Marinette shut her locker before happily walking towards the exit, forgetting that she has to meet up with Alya. Her heart is ablaze and felt her stomach repeatedly do somersaults. There is no end to how much she felt like a rocket blasting off into space for the first time and finally being able to touch the unreachable.
After all, the sky isn't the limit. Beyond its borders is the unknown. A whole new place full of wonders and possibilities only the imagination can conjure up. It's a place of risk and hope for something extraordinary to happen once in a lifetime.
Yet...
...it also holds its dangers as well.
The abyss is nothing to joke about.
Although space has a phenomenal view, there also lies its inner darkness.
Even, demons can't be recognized when wearing the mask of an angel.
The bluenette continued her way out of the building, unknowing of a person watching her every movement within the shadows.

Adrien has been in a stiff state the entire time he and Nathalie are out shopping for school supplies. The teen knows that his temporary guardian is growing very suspicious at his jumpy behavior but he couldn't help it. All he has ever known is to be a good, obedient child.
This "sneaking two stray cats into his bedroom without his guardian knowing" is the most rebellious thing he has ever done. He has a right to be a nervous wreck and freak out!
With a shaky sigh, the blonde is glad to have a small breather away from Nathalie and scanning the shelves for supplies.
"Did you hear the latest rumors about that ex-model, Adrien Agreste?" a teenage girl with blonde hair in twin tails and carrying a parasail asked.
"No, I haven't. What is it?" another teenage girl with short bluish-black hair and brown eyes questioned, curiously. The conversation immediately grabbed Adrien's attention and began to listen in on whatever rumor is being spread about him this time.
"Apparently, Lila Rossi is pregnant with his child!" the blonde girl exclaimed. Both brown and green eyes widened at the same time at the news.
"Well, that's...new," Adrien thought, a little surprised. Honestly, it is the last thing he was expecting to hear. Sure, he's heard rumors from the media about him dating model girls or that he was "cheating." Never in life has he heard someone claim to be impregnated by him.
It sounded so far-fetched.
"Really?!" The bluenette asked, surprise in her voice. Adrien raised an eyebrow behind his sunglasses at the two girls.
"Did they really believe that obvious lie?" Adrien disbelievingly questioned in his head. The two teenage girls continued their conversation elsewhere, leaving Adrien alone in the isle to think.
Who is Lila Rossi?
He swore he has heard of that name from somewhere before. The blonde began to rethink f where he possibly could've heard the name until it finally clicked.
Adrien took out his phone and opened up his Silly Social Phrase app. He remembered reading something about her on social media about a week ago. His emerald eyes scanned the history section of the app, using his thumb to scroll down.
It didn't take long to find what he was looking for.
"Sorry, I'm taken. Not sorry, for any hearts that I'm break'n," the description said and a picture of the girl was placed above it with some sort of heart filter. One thing is for sure, he has no clue who Lila Rossi is except that she is a lying fox in disguise.
"There you are."
Adrien nearly jumped, turning off his phone before shooting his head around. The teen relaxed when seeing Nathalie standing a few feet away carrying a bag.
"Did you get any pens, dry erase markers and pencils?" She asked.
"O-Oh uh, yeah," Adrien answered, placing his phone in his pocket and randomly picking out the items from off the shelves. Nathalie, what felt like the hundredth time today, raised an eyebrow.
"Adrien, is there something wrong?" The woman asked, concerned for the teen.
"N-No," Adrien answered a little too quickly and feeling sweat start to form on his brow, "Why do you ask?"
Nathalie pointed at the items in Adrien's hands, "You grabbed the Sharpies instead of the dry erase markers."
The blonde blinked before looking down at the pencils, pens, and Sharpies in his hands. Letting out a nervous chuckle, Adrien placed the Sharpies back and grabbed the dry erase markers instead.
"Now, I'm ready," he said, awkwardly walking towards the checkout. Nathalie followed after a few seconds of standing in confusion. She knew there is something wrong with Adrien but couldn't figure out what is making him so nervous.
"Did he do something he wasn't supposed to?" She thought, eyeing the teen as if searching for the answers on him. Yet, no bells are ringing. She can only see the red flags waving right in front of her.
Something is wrong with Adrien.
She is going to find out what.

Marinette is sweating buckets of nervousness.
She had raced home, feeling jittery like she had just drunk a couple of cups of coffee. Her stomach swarmed with butterflies and sweat began to crazily form under her armpits. Bluebell eyes constantly glanced at the clock and away from the homework sitting on the desk.
That was two hours ago.
Marinette completed her homework and is anxiously pacing the wooden floor. The bluenette looked in the mirror about ten times to make sure every single strand of hair is in place and makeup is on point. She went over what to do and what not to do on the date (almost considered writing it on her arms).
"Marinette! Your friend is here!" Sabine called from downstairs. Marinette felt her cheeks flush and her heart stop for a moment.
He. Is. Here!
Marinette took a few deep breaths to calm herself down and cool off her cheeks. She is a nervous wreck! This is her first time going out on a date and with someone she really liked.
"Coming!" The teen yelled back, scanning her room one more time to make sure she isn't missing anything. Satisfied, Marinette grabbed her purse and staggered out of her room. She smiled widely when seeing Luka standing at the doorway and talking with her mother.
Bluebell irises glanced over at a flash of red to see Celine. The elder woman gave her a wink, earning a heated glare from the teen.
"Don't forget your raincoat just in case, dear," Sabine informed, grabbing the red jacket from the coat hanger and handing it to Marinette. The teen smiled fondly, "Thanks, mama!"
"Are you ready to go?" Luka asked.
"Y-Yeah," Marinette confirmed before walking out the door.
"We'll see you later," Sabine said, waving goodbye with a smile and began to slowly close the door.
"And remember..." Celine shouted, "...use protection!" Marinette froze face beet red in embarrassment and the irises of her eyes shrunk. The bluenette mentally cursed within her head. She should've foreseen the teasing coming and not get a free pass, unlike last time.
Once the door clicked shut, Marinette turned to Luka and fiddled with her fingers underneath her coat.
"S-Sorry, about my a-aunt," she apologized, staring at the floor timidly. Luka gave the girl a relaxed smile before patting her shoulder.
"It's alright," Luka reassured before saying, "Ready to go see that movie?"
Marinette nodded her head, shyly smiling up at the musician. The two teens made their way out of the building and walked through the bustling city towards the movie theater. The entire walk involved little conversation every once in a while and some awkward silence.
Marinette tried her best to keep up the conversation but her timid and shy nature kicked into overdrive. Being around her crush, made her brain cells go on the fritz. She rushed to think of more to say but nothing seemed to pop up. All the words in her mind are jumbled, leaving only a blank canvas.
"Who's your favorite artist?" Luka asked, making the frazzled bluenette jump.
"F-Favorite a-artist?" She asked, dumbly before stuttering out a quick answer, "V-Verizon! No, I meant to say, Venus! Gah, Vincent! Vincent Van Gogh!"
Luka blinked his wide eyes before chuckling, making Marinette slightly more timid. The male stopped his laughter and smiled. Marinette felt her heart skip for a moment.
"I meant, your favorite singer," the musician said, "Sorry for being cryptic. I guess I should've been a bit more descriptive."
The bluenette's face turned scarlet before she sheepishly scratched the back of her neck with an endearing smile on her face.
"O-Oh," Marinette stuttered before answering, "Jag-Jagged R-Rock—Stone! Jagged Stone!"
The small conversation continued like that until the two teens arrived at the movie theaters. They quickly decided on what film they would watch, bought the tickets and snacks before heading to their seats. Marinette is feeling giddy finally able to go on a movie date with her crush.
She internally hoped that they would accidentally touch hands in the giant popcorn bowl they decided to share. The entire movie is spent with Luka paying attention to the screen and Marinette paying attention to her crush more than the movie.
She tried to urge him to hold her hand and time out when to accidentally reach for popcorn at the same time. Yet, nothing worked and the movie soon came to an end. Marinette is slightly disappointed that none of her settle advances worked.
Luka stood up from the seat while holding the popcorn bucket and stretching.
"That was a good movie. Did you enjoy it?" Luka asked the bluenette. Marinette stood frozen in a stretch after realizing she hadn't paid so much as any attention to the movie.
"O-Oh, yeah! It was great," the girl laughed nervously, scratching the back of her neck. She prays to everything good that Luka won't ask any more questions about the film The musician smiled fondly at Marinette before making his way to exit the theater room with the said girl in tow.
"My favorite part was when the kids training session to become a ninja and made some silly mess-ups. It was a really funny part," Luka explained. Marinette nodded in agreement, unknowing of anything he was saying but played along as to not ruin the moment.
Luka threw the popcorn bucket away in a nearby trashcan while Marinette waited near the exit. She is trying to figure out a way to make this date last longer but nothing came to mind. Her mind is still scrambled—fried.
The bluenette is snapped out of her thoughts when hearing thunder outside. She jumped in fright before calming her racing heart. The teen placed her raincoat on herself just as Luka returned.
"Was that thunder?" Luka asked, looking outside with curiosity.
"Y-Yurp!" Marinette shouted. Her eyes widened, clasping a hand over her mouth in embarrassment. Some people nearby stared in their direction in confusion before returning to their regular conversations. Luka laughed a little, making the designer blush.
"We should hang out again sometime. I had a lot of fun," Luka suggested. Marinette mentally squealed and fist-pumped the air.
"Score! Marinette, you are totally getting close to being asked out to the dance!" The bluenette happily squealed in her thoughts. Though there is not much time left. The dance is just right around the corner, next Wednesday.
Hopefully, he'll ask soon.
Rain began to pour outside, clattering against the glass doors.
Marinette is once again snapped out of her head when a cell phone began to ring. Luka pulled out his phone from his pocket and looked at the number. Bluebell eyes noticed a soft smile graced his lips before answering the call.
"Hello," Marinette suddenly said. Once again, her hand is over her mouth in embarrassment as Luka tried not to laugh.
"Why did I say that?!" The bluenette thought, hitting her forehead, "Work brain! Why do you fail me at times I need you the most?!"
"Hello?" Luka answered. Marinette curiously watched her crush speak with the other person over the phone.
"Yeah, I can definitely pick up some juice from the store on my way home and bring it to our next picnic," Luka agreed. Soon, the call ended with Marinette raising a questioning eyebrow.
"W-Who was that?" The bluenette asked, curiously. Luka seemed to purse his lips in thought, debating on something. This made Marinette all the more nervous than she was before. Her heart began to hammer against her chest rapidly at his hesitation.
Finally, Luka's famous, butter-melting smile reappeared on his face. Marinette calmed down slightly, still on edge. Whoever made that phone call...she didn't know if she wanted to know anymore.
Luka looked around for a moment before facing the bluenette.
"You see..." he began his explanation awkwardly.
"I've got a girlfriend."
