"Ugh, why now?!"
Levi glanced at the whining brunette sitting on one of the rattan chairs on the porch. He rolled his eyes on his husband and decided to cheer him up with tea and two slices of chocolate cake.
It was raining since morning and Eren was being patient at first, telling himself and Levi that it would stop and they could finally take a swim. But it was already 4 in the afternoon, the skies remained gray and rain didn't rest for a minute.
"Eren, get inside now," Levi called out. "Before you and Captain will get wet again."
He could hear Eren's disappointed groaned from where he stood. As pretty as the beach house was, the brunette was dying to stay outside despite the bad weather. It was around noon when the winds were brutal and Eren and Captain were outside. At first, Levi let them stay there. Eren was laughing as he let the rain hit him and Captain wasn't bothered by it as well. But Levi made sure that took a bath and the dog was dried before they eat lunch.
Now, all Levi wanted was to not get Eren sick from the cold rain.
The brunette entered the house, shoulders slacked and a deep frown on his face. Captain stood on the door, looking up at Levi with his beady puppy eyes. The dog was not that wet but half of his fur was covered with dews from the rain outside.
"Come on," Levi put a towel on the brunette's head. "Let's eat some cake."
That was able to pull a small smile from Eren's lips.
"I'll dry Captain, you go ahead and eat your fill," Levi stood on his toes and gave a brunette peck on the lips.
"Love you," Eren cooed.
"Shut up and stuff that mouth of yours with cake," Levi bit back with a smile.
Eren snickered and did what the Omega said.
Taking one of Captain's towels, Levi worked on getting the dog dried. Once he deemed that the German Shepard's dry, the Omega stood and signaled the dog to get inside. Captain padded straight to his bed and curled up like a ball.
Now that the dog was taken care of, Levi dropped the towel in the hamper and joined Eren at the dining table. The brunette was already finishing his second slice.
"I take that the cake was good?" Levi hummed.
"Yes, umm, can I have more?"
"Of course."
Eren beamed.
"Not," Levi added with a smirk.
Eren's smile dropped. "Levi!" he whined like a child.
"I'm not kidding, two slices of cocoa and sugar is not good for you," Levi explained calmly as he took a sip of his tea.
"But it's good cocoa and sugar..." Eren whispered with a pout.
"Stop pouting and being an adorable brat."
"Um," Eren blinked at him, he was confused but he nodded. "Okay, I'll try?"
"I noticed that you using your crutch less these days," Levi noted. His eyes trailed down at the crutch that was leaning on the wall.
"I can walk on my own now," Eren reasoned. "I just needed it if I run or something."
"But still, be careful." Levi knew that Alpha's had this ability to heal faster than other dynamics but it's never too late to be careful. The Omega was aware that Eren could walk on his own just fine when they started to live on the island and Eren was only using his crutch so Levi would not worry. It was a simple white lie but it kept Levi on edge.
They both jolted when a lighting struck near the beach followed by a clap of deafening thunder. Ruining the comfortable silence that they shared seconds ago.
They both stared at the window. The rain grew heavy. Captain was whining on his bed and curled up in a tight ball.
Levi tore his eyes away from the window and stared at Eren.
The brunette was gazing at the beach, lost in thought yet his eyes held more than words could express.
Levi's eyes widen.
Then the sound of porcelain mashing on the floor snapped Eren back to his senses. He blinked several times and looked at Levi.
"Levi! Are you okay?"
"It shouldn't break," Levi gazed down at the bits and pieces of his teacup with its contents spilling on the floor. Careful on where he step, Levi started to clean up.
"Let me help you," Eren stood and snatched the trash bin in the kitchen.
Once all of the shards and pieces were put away in the bin and the floor was clean, Eren couldn't help but look down at the pieces of porcelain in the bin. Levi was right, the cup shouldn't break when it hits the floorboards. If it did, it would just have a crack on it. The cup looked like it was thrown on the floor with force and-
"Eren," Levi called out.
Eren snapped his neck towards Levi. It was dark despite that it was only 4 or 5 in the afternoon but with dark clouds outside, and the raven didn't bother to turn on the lights, the beach house looked hunting.
Levi was standing behind the windows. When another struck of lighting came and illuminated the room. Eren swore he saw the raven eyes glowed in silver.
Eren had no idea what happened but something changed with his mate. Levi looked... terrifying.
"Let's go to bed," Levi said.
Eren gulped and nodded. The raven was not asking, there was authority in his voice that the brunette couldn't reply verbally.
"Okay, I'm not eating dinner. I'm already full. I assume that you're the same as well."
Again, all Eren could do was nod.
"I'll feed Captain. You go ahead."
Nodding, Eren followed the Omega obediently. Before he turned to the bedroom. Levi called him again.
"Wait."
"Yeah?" Eren glanced over his shoulder and saw Levi approached him carrying a glass of water.
"You just eat two slices of cake, wash the sugar down with water."
Emerald-green eyes gazed down at the offered glass of water. He couldn't understand what was happening. Levi was fine earlier and then now he was acting all cold, distant, and on guard. The way the Omega spoke was empty and bland. And Eren was scared. He didn't why though. He didn't do anything wrong, did he?
He took the glass and drunk all the water. It tasted weird but he forced himself to swallow it all. He didn't want to think anything. He trusts Levi. He trusted him with all his life.
He returned the glass and Levi smiled at him.
"Good, now get comfortable in bed."
That was a fake smile, but Eren nodded and moved to their bedroom.
As the brunette laid in their bed, Eren could feel his consciousness fading away. He knew had to do with the weird tasting water but he refused to believe it. He loved his mate.
He trusts Levi with his life.
"I trust you, love," he gasped before his consciousness slipped away.
Levi panted, eyes glowing in silver in a crazed state. He was straddling the unconscious Alpha, his dagger in his hands. The sharp blade pointed at the brunette's heart. He could do it.
There's no point in getting information in Eren now that Kenny and Hange were practically living in Yeager's main house for fun and had all the information needed. They could easily take down Yeager's business with a snap of their fingers anytime.
Killing Eren Yeager now could save many lives and finally stop his psychotic acts in the future. He deserved to die.
Levi could do it. Now was the right time before Eren's sick memories comes back.
"I trust you, love."
Levi gritted his teeth. Eren's last words echoed through the bond. The raven clutched his dagger so hard that felt the wooden handle could crack.
He had to do it before he lost his reins on Eren. But recalling how much the brunette trusted him, how Eren didn't even question the water he gave him, and then submitting to the drug.
Levi gasped when he saw a tear fell and created a dark spot on the brunette's green shirt. His blue-stormy eyes shifted from the brunette's chest to his sleeping face.
Eren looked so peaceful. His rich cool and pine scent was calming and it matched well with the scent of the storm outside.
"I trust you, love."
Levi's vision blurred as more tears spilled from his eyes.
Another lightning struck near the beach house and Levi screamed in time with the thunder.
