ARC 1
Light of the Jedi
ONE
BEGINNING
The ship came out of hyperspace as the stars and planet materialized themselves into existence on the other side of the glass. The low hum of the vessel straightened itself as the pilot was slowly working its way through the control taking the ship from out of hyperspace to the normal navigation controls. The pilot was a young man with dark hair dressed in the red and blue flight suit that was familiar to those that worked for the Core Worlds of the Galaxy.
His attention however, was staring at the planet that was slowly approaching toward them. It was a beautiful pearl of green and blue with two moons visible around it and the pilot knew that was their destination ahead of them.
"Elvhenan," the co-pilot spoke out.
The man glanced at the woman that was beside him.
She had long blonde hair falling upon her shoulder, and bright green eyes that were staring dead ahead in front of them, a slight frown marring her gentle features, thought one of the most peculiar features of her hair was the long lone braid that was seating upon her shoulder. The young woman was wearing a under tunic and an outer one which was almost hidden from the long brown robes that was over her body, its' hood thrown back upon her shoulder.
"I'll tell my Master that we've arrived at our destination," she said standing up from where she was seating, the movement revealing a cylindrical hilt attached to her belt.
The man nodded at her.
"I'll get us to the City main Port," he said with a light nod.
The blonde woman only gave him a nod before turning away from him and walking out of the cockpit of the vessel. The blonde woman continued her way through the vessel corridor, her brown robe dancing behind her as she walks. She reached a door at the end of the corridor and opened it.
She entered inside finding her master in a kneeling position upon the floor, both of her eyes closed in deep meditation. The curious thing about her master was that she was blue skinned woman with tentacle in the place of her hair. Her skin had some light marking upon them, a part of her culture as she was dressed in similar robes to the blonde woman. Considering that her Master was an Asari, a race of mono gendered species, all of them which were physically women.
"Padawan Amell," the woman spoke, her voice calm as she opened her eyes, revealing the light brown eyes she has.
"Master," the blonde woman called Amell answered, "We have arrived at our destination. The pilot is bringing us toward the city as we speak."
The Asari nodded.
"I sense it as well," she said.
Amell crossed her arms.
"I don't understand why the Council is sending us to Elvhenan," she said.
The Asari smiled.
"The Jedi and the Elvhen has a strong tie," she said, "Over three centuries ago, we freed their people from slavery and have helped them settled upon that world as a home for them. Since then, they have always been friends to us."
Amell tilted her head.
"I have heard the story," she said with a light frown.
"I know you are curious as to why we are here Padawan," the Asari continued, "Don't worry, it will soon be clear when we land."
Amell simply nodded at her.
"Of course, Master," she said a light bow of her head.
The Asari gracefully stood up, now that her meditation was finished. She stood taller than Amell, and never once has Amell had seen her master be anything other than graceful. When she speaks, or when she moves and even when she wield her lightsaber, Jedi Master Lexi T'Perro is always the picture of grace.
When she had been chosen as Lexi's Padawan, Amell had always had a tomboyish streak. As someone that grew up on Ferelden, it was part of the culture in her world to be as she was but thanks to her master's teaching she has somewhat calmed down from when she was younger and now older and approaching her time for the Trials, the young woman still feel like there is so much more she could learn from the Asari.
And given that the Asari can live up to a thousand years, Amell knew that she could spend her entire lifetime learning from her master and still didn't feel like she would have learned enough.
Having taken her cloak, which was a soft beige Master T'Perro walked toward the cockpit with Amell following after her. They were no longer in space, Amell noticed as she noticed an approaching settlement in front of them. They were visible tall towers passing beneath them as their ship grew closer and closer toward the surface and toward a landing port.
"This is the main market place of the planet," Master T'Perro said giving her a glance.
Amell looked at her.
"You've been here before?"
"Once," the Master answered, a light smile upon her lips, "My own master and I came here to buy some clothing. She loved the design of their clothing."
"We're about to land soon," the pilot spoke out.
They had reached an open platform and with a few maneuvers, Amell felt the ship shake lightly as they finally reached solid ground.
"How long will you be staying down here?" the pilot asked, glancing at the Jedi.
"We will contact you when we'll be returning," Master T'Perro spoke out, "Take a rest captain, and enjoy the marketplace."
"Of course, Master Jedi."
T'Perro gave him a gentle nod, before walking out followed by Amell. The two Jedi walked through the ship, until they came out of the ramp that was lowered for them. The Jedi automatically placed their hood on as the two of them walked out of the ship and into the cool air of the planet outside and it was in no time at all that they two of them were walking through the marketplace.
Amell glanced around herself as she walked beside her master. Having travelled across the galaxy with her master, she had come across many different cultures and this was her first time here on Elvhenan. As they walked, she could feel something in the Force…something that was pulling at her sense, drawing her attention away from the surrounding across them.
"Master, do you sense that?" she asked.
"I do," T'Perro told her, "I feel that this is the reason we were sent here."
Amell let out a soft hum at that, focusing upon the strange feeling that was at the edge of her sense. The Force thrummed around her almost like it was beckoning her forward, toward the direction of where the feeling was coming from…
Just what was it?
"Be mindful Padawan," her Master said suddenly, breaking her focus slightly.
Amell glanced at the Asari.
"There is no rush," T'Perro continued, "We shall soon meet the cause of this feeling."
"Yes Master," she answered, feeling chided by her master.
The two of them continued their trek upon the road, and Amell returned her attention toward the people that were around them. They were mostly dressed in normal clothing, made of leathers, the Elvhen seems to be quite at home in this world.
The Elvhen looked similarly to human in many ways, but their build is always lithe even the males. Another obvious features of the Elvhen were their ears which were much longer than the humans, poking through their hair, almost shaped like a dagger.
The derogate term 'Knife-ear' echoed within her mind. She had heard other people in the galaxy use that term to address the elves, and it made her frown in anger at them. She knew that as a Jedi she must not react to anger, but it is still wrong for them to be called this way.
"Here we are."
Amell refocused on their surrounding once more.
"Here?" she said surprised.
This place looked rundown at best, and from the dusty window that she can see, no one had been taking care of the place at all.
"This is where our contact told us to meet," T'Perro said with a light shrug.
Amell let out a small groan.
"This is not going to turn into that Krogan mess we've got ourselves in is it?" she asked.
"I quite doubt it," T'Perro said.
"Even so," Amell said, "I'll keep my guard up."
T'Perro simply shook her head and entered inside the building with Amell following after them. They were a few people waiting inside for them. They had bows upon their form and seeing them enter, one of them stood up, an elvhen man. He had a strange marking upon his face, looking like intricate tattoos that Amell had seen upon other Elvhen she had met across the galaxy.
"Master Jedi," the man spoke out.
Amell kept her sense alert as she senses around the room. They were a shade of nervous energy within the room but it mostly came from the Elves that were around them. They seemed to be a little bit on edge if she had to guess their feelings.
"I am," T'Perro spoke out, pulling her hood back revealing herself to them, prompting Amell to do the same, "You are members of Clan Lavellan yes?"
"I am Mahanon," the man spoke out, "First of Clan Lavellan. Thank you for coming so swiftly."
"We were near the system when the Council told us of your Keeper's call," her Master told them, "The Council decide to trust us with the duty you have asked of us."
At her master's word, Mahanon seems to deflate with the relief that Amell could feel in the Force. The elven man nodded lightly.
"I see," he said, "Come, we will take you to our camp. The Keeper is waiting for you."
"Very well," T'Perro agreed.
The two Jedi followed the elves out of the city and toward some transportation that was waiting for them. The Jedi climbed upon one and then they were off, leaving the city behind completely as they zoomed through the path that was built within the forest. The trees grew tall, so tall that it made the people moving look like ants near them. Amell can feel the Force thrumming again, and she can feel like they were being led toward the strange presence they could feel the moment they had arrived upon the planet.
As they were traveling, the sun had lowered itself down and it was dusk when the Elves had started to slow down until they came to a stop near what look like a settlement. They were many of them all around. Amell dropped off after her master, following Mahanon through the village. She can feel the curiosity and awe coming from the people within the village as the two Jedi walked among them and could even hear them whisper to each other in their language, thought she couldn't understand a word of it.
"They seem in awe of us," Amell spoke out.
"They do," T'Perro said.
"I wonder why they don't live in the cities?" she asked.
"When the Elves were freed from slavery, they've lost the way to return to their home world as it was never found," T'Perro told her, "I know that they have two factions of Elves living upon this world. The Dalish and the city Elves."
Amell frowned lightly. She was not unfamiliar with species infighting as it was common across the galaxy. She wanted to ask some more but they had reached one of the large tents that was set up and Mahanon opened the tent and the two Jedi followed.
It was quite warm within it, a welcome reprieve from the coolness of the weather outside. A single Elven woman was within it, dressed in light robes and she looked up toward them, her dark eyes taking them in. She had a beautiful design upon her skin, looking similarly to a tree upon her forehead as her hair, a sandy blonde, was pushed back from her face. Her skin was darker than Mahanon and the woman used her staff to stand up.
"Andaran Atish'an Keeper," Mahanon greeted with a light bow, "I have brought the Jedi."
"Leave us and bring her," the Keeper spoke out.
The man nodded and left the tent leaving the Jedi and the Keeper alone.
"Keeper Deshanna," T'Perro greeted starting to speak, "My name is Lexi T'Perro, and this is my Padawan Solana Amell. We were sent here by the Jedi Council to answer the request you've sent to us."
Keeper Deshanna gave them a low bow.
"I thank you for the swift response Master Jedi," she said, "Come and sit, we have much to discuss."
The trio took a seat around the fire as the Keeper looked at them both. She was searching for something Amell could sense, but what could the Keeper be looking for, she had no clue.
"I have asked you to come Master Jedi," she spoke out, "Because I believe one of our da'len share the same power has you."
T'Perro frowned lightly, and Amell titled her head.
"One of the Elvhen is Force sensitive?" she asked.
"Yes," the Keeper spoke out, "At first, I thought it was biotic like most of the Asari people…however, I have not seen any blue glow that usually happens and our world has no residue of element zero. She moved object without touching them…I have heard the tales of the Jedi and their abilities and your kind are the only ones I know that could do such things."
Amell frowned. Does that mean what she had been sensing since they have arrived on this planet was this force sensitive child? For them to be able to sense their presence this far out…
It doesn't make any sense at all to her. She had sensed Younglings before back at the Temple and none of them ever felt like what she had felt. She glanced at her master, seeing the curious expression upon the Asari's face.
"May we meet this child?" she asked.
"Of course, Master Jedi, here they come now."
The two Jedi recognized the familiar form of Mahanon who was entering the tent once more, but this time, there was a small child following after him, holding his hand. When the child entered the room, Amell could feel the Force thrumming again, almost like whisper in the back of her mind.
The child had a wild nest for hair, a soft red that fell around her head. She had her head down as they were walking into the room, but Amell knew know that the Force presence she had been sensing…
It came from the girl.
"Ellana," the Keeper spoke out.
The girl looked at the Keeper before turning her head toward their direction, finally showing her face and eyes to the two Jedi. She had a cute face, still showing the round of childhood and Amell could guess that she was about five years old at best. But the most curious thing about the young girl was her eyes.
They were bright silver.
So begins the tale...Hope you have enjoyed that bit.
