Hey guys, here is the next chapter. Sorry it's shorter than the previous ones.
Anyway, enjoy the read.
Chapter Four
The Clan
"Well, she is very healthy…a bit undernourished but healthy."
The Halls of Healing of the Jedi were as spacious as everywhere was within this area. The hall was filled with many beds which were all lined up beside each other and a small office where the Head healer worked in her pastime. Ellana was currently seating upon a small chair in front of an older woman with long red hair which had started to have some white strings among them. She had bright blue eyes as she was looking down at an Omni-tool that was upon her wrist, having examined her just a few seconds earlier.
The woman, which Solana, had introduced as Healer May, turned her attention toward the young child in front of her.
"You don't mind if place your family name as Lavellan do you?" she asked.
Ellana looked up at her.
"Family name?" she repeated.
"Yes," Healer May told her with a soft smile, "From what I know of the Dalish, the clan name is usually what you identify yourself with along with your given name. I am sure that's not going to change for you now is it?"
Ellana nodded.
The woman smiled lightly at her before turning off the Omni-tool and starting working something upon the console in front of her. When she was done, she turned toward the two of them.
"I presume she'll be staying here for training then?" she asked.
Solana nodded.
"Yes," she said, "But she hasn't yet joined a clan yet. I'm sure that the Council will contact him about it."
Ellana looked up at her in confusion.
"A clan?" she repeated.
"It's the group you're going to be part of while you're training as a youngling," the Padawan explained with a light smile, "When I was a youngling, I was part of the Forest clan…and we've become lifelong friends to this day."
"I remember you being quite a troublemaker back then before Lexi calmed you down," Healer May reminded her with a raised eyebrow.
Solana blushed lightly under the stare of the older woman and Ellana gave a light nod about it. The woman stood up from where she was seating chuckling softly as she walked toward where the console was.
"I've made a full report to the Council about her health," Healer May said, "She is fine to go. Be sure not to end up in this room too much alright, Ellana?"
Ellana looked up at her, giving a light nod.
"I'll do my best."
The woman ruffled her hair a bit.
"You two can leave," she said.
The door of the Halls of Healing opened and two Jedi entered within the room. One of them was Lexi who was looking at them both and another was a man with white hair and bright blue eyes that almost seems to glow. He was wearing simply his tunics and not the brown cloak that Solana and Lexi have upon them.
"Master?" Solana greeted.
"All done my young Padawan?" Lexi asked, with a light smile upon her lips.
"Of course, the girl has a clean bill of health," Healer May spoke out as she approached the two new arrivals, "I've already forwarded my report to the Council about it."
"Good," Lexi spoke out, "Now Ellana, I'd like you to meet Master Heinz. He will be placing you with a clan to start you Jedi training."
The man gave her a simple smile that did nothing to change the expression upon his features. He was beautiful, Ellana realized with a light blush upon her cheeks. His hair was white like the fur coat of the halla back on Elvhenan.
"Come along then," he said simply, "I shall take you to where you'll be staying during your training here."
Ellana glanced at Lexi and Solana but the two women only smiled at her, gentle and kind. With that final thought, she followed after Master Heinz the two of them walking out of the infirmary together.
When the two were gone, Lexi turned her gaze toward Solana who was still looking at the doorway where Ellana had gone with the other Master.
"She is still nervous about it all," she said simply.
"Don't worry too much," Her Master answered her, "She'll adapt quickly once she makes some friends within her clan…Healer May, may I see her medical data."
"Sure," the woman said showing it to her.
Lexi stayed silent for a moment as she observed the information in front of her for a few moments. Solana glanced at her, confused.
"Is something wrong?" she asked.
"No…not wrong," her Master said shaking her head, "Thank you Healer May, we'll be out of your way."
The two of them walked out of the room and into the halls which she stared at the Asari beside her.
"There is something isn't it Master?" Solana asked, "You always make that face when you're worried about something."
The woman chuckled.
"Have I become so transparent to you?"
"No, I just know you," Solana answered her simply.
Lexi chuckled.
"I suppose after so many years working together," she said, "You've come to recognize all my tells…but you're right in saying that there is something that I wish to speak to you about."
"What is it Master?" she asked, "Is it a new assignment by the Council?"
"No," Lexi said looking at her, "It's not an assignment. I've proposed to the Council that you should face the Knight's Trials."
Solana's eyes widened in shock.
The Trials…Her?
"Me?" she said, her voice cracking lightly at what her Master had just told her, "A Knight?"
Lexi smiled lightly at her.
"Yes," she said, "I have taught you everything I could and you have matured so much from that young stubborn girl from thirteen years ago."
Solana felt hesitant at the thought.
"Do you really think I am ready?" she asked.
"I know you are," Lexi answered her placing a hand upon the young woman's shoulder, "if you can see yourself as I see you and what I can sense in you Solana, I can tell that you'll be an incredible Knight in the future."
Solana looked into those kind eyes of her master, the eyes she had known, trusted and worked alongside with for much of her adolescence. The eyes of the woman that made her into what she is today.
"The Jedi Order would benefit well of a knight of your talent Solana," Lexi continued, "And I am proud to say that you have been ready for the trials for a very long time."
Solana looked at her.
"But I still feel like there is so much I can learn from you Master," she said.
Jedi Master Lexi T'Perro looked at her padawan with a soft smile, almost like she was amused at her hesitance.
"There are some things that you can't learn from me," she told her, "Things that you can only learn as a knight. Things you have taught me when you became my padawan thirteen years ago."
Solana felt a strange type of wonder within her at those words. She could feel that she was honored beyond words about the Asari in front of her. Master T'Perro had become quite a surrogate mother to her and she felt proud that the woman thought so highly of her.
"Then…I will strive to make you proud as a Knight," she said meeting her Master's gaze.
Lexi T'Perro smiled.
"I know you will."
Ellana followed Master Heinz toward a different part of the Temple. It was filled with many dormitories, classrooms which were filled with children seating upon them causing her to look at them in surprise at the amount of them. Most of them seems to be similar to her in appearance with some aliens here and there.
"This is where most of your classes will be held," the man explained when he noticed what had drawn her attention, "I believe you will become very familiar with this area of the Temple in the following months."
Ellana glanced up at him and quickly looked away, feeling her cheeks warming with how pretty the man was. She heard him let out a small chuckle as they continued down the hallway passing through many more hallways before reaching a young man. He was looking over something upon the pad in his hand.
"Instructor Leane."
The man looked up at him. His skin was as dark as Master Carlyle was. His hair was much shorter thought as he was looking over the pad in his hand. The man's eyes went toward her and she saw him raise his eyebrows even higher as the two approached him.
"This is Ellana Lavellan," Heinz spoke out, "She is to be the latest student to fill out your clan. I heard that you had an odd number of students within it."
"That's true," Leane said, his voice taking an odd tone, "I was about to have my first lesson later this afternoon…then you want this girl to participate within it."
"That will be most fruitful," Master Heinz answered.
"Very well then," the man said looking at her, "I will take her in."
With those words, Master Heinz left her with him and the new man looked down at her.
"Well, it's seems you and I are going to be together for a long while Ellana Lavellan. I am Instructor Leane To. I'm in charge of the Moon clan. I am going to have class within thirty minutes…how about I show you to where you'll be staying?"
"Okay."
Leane smiled lightly and guided her to her room. The room was very scarcely decorated but there was a banner with the symbol of the Jedi Order on the wall. The room with beige colored wall and floor with a single bed. There was a desk at the end of the room with a terminal, probably for her studies in the future.
"There is a shower at the end of the room to freshen up," Leane told her, "Why don't you get yourself dressed and I'll find you some tunics?"
Ellana nodded at him before she did what he had asked. She was kind of surprised at how fast things were moving but she realized that there really was no point in thinking about it any further after all, she was going to be a Jedi in the future and it would seems that this is the best way for her to be part of it.
When she was done showering, there was a set of brown and white tunics waiting for her upon the bed and with how to put it on. She dressed herself in the white tunics first before placing the green shoulder part on, attaching it to the belt that she had. When she was done, she got a look into the mirror that was on the dresser at the end of the room.
Staring back at her was a young Jedi.
