Chapter 20

"Your next trial… is the U.A. Sports Festival."

The students that were anticipating hearing what their teacher was going to say had their tensions deflated a little after hearing that their next trial won't be as perilous as the villain attack on USJ was.

"That's a completely normal event… why'd you have to announce it so scary like?" Pony whined, much like the rest of the class, expecting to hear that they'll put in another dangerous situation.

"Because the Sports festival is a crucial moment for all of you. In two weeks' time, everyone and anyone will be watching your every move and based on your performances at the event, you'll be chosen by professional hero's and agencies to work as an intern, so treat the event as your introduction to the world."

While the students worries were gone, anticipation was riding high upon learning what was at stake.

"Oh, that's right. You guys treat the whole thing as if it's the Olympics," Matvey chimed in, "We don't have anything like that in Russia."

"Here in Japan, the U.A. sports festival is one of our biggest events. Other schools have their own type of events, but they come nowhere close to U.A. in terms of popularity," Kendo added.

While the students were all talking amongst themselves about the upcoming sports festival, a delicate hand rose up in the air.

"Excuse me sir…" Ibara's soothing voice spoke as she stood up, putting a cease on all conversations, "After the events that transpired at USJ, is it really safe for this event to happen?"

It was a really valid question to ask. With what happened recently, a big event like that could attract some bold villains to strike.

"Good question Ibara," Aizawa acknowledged, "U.A. believes that by holding the event, that our crisis management is ironclad," As he said this, there was a hint of cynicism in his tone.

"But truthfully, we should have nothing to fear, the stadium will obviously be filled with heroes and our security will be heightened. So, the chances of a villain attack happening to begin with is low, and the chances of a successful villain attack is miniscule," Aizawa finished.

"I appreciate your answer sir," Ibara thanked, before sinking back down to her seat.

"Now," Aizawa said to transition to his final point before the end of homeroom, "With the festival approaching, preparation is of the upmost importance, so don't slack off. Understood?"

The entire class responded to their teacher with a resounding "Yes sir!"

It was 12:30, the end of fourth period and the start of lunch.

Matvey was with his classmates as they were all on their way to the cafeteria when he heard a tired and scruffy voice call out for him.

"There you are Matvey. I was about to go looking for you but l thankfully I didn't have to go far."

'Shit,' Matvey thought, realizing that the voice that called out to him belonged to his homeroom teacher.

He stopped in his tracks and turned to his side to see Aizawa standing by the door of teachers' lounge.

"O-Oh hey Mr. Aizawa. I'm guessing you want to talk to me now?"

Aizawa could feel the repressed tension coming from the boy, but he didn't pay it much mind. He had students in the past who downright loathed him, so Matvey's dislike for him doesn't faze him too much.

"Yes, that is if you're still interested in talking?"

It was an honest question that Aizawa gave him, but to Matvey, it was like as if the homeroom teacher was teasing him. With the strange halo that appeared while he was on the train, learning about what happened at USJ could help Matvey in knowing what truly lies within his quirk.

"… Yeah, I'm still interested in talking with you."

Aizawa turned his heels and was about to head back into the teacher's lounge, "Alright, well you can go and get your lunch and meet me back here. Okay?"

"Actually, we can talk now. I can do without lunch for today," Matvey retorted.

Aizawa studied the student for a bit before opening the door to the lounge, gesturing Matvey to enter first.

The Russian student entered the lounge, and his teacher came from behind.

Matvey looked around the lounge, observing the teachers who were also eating their lunch while doing some paperwork.

Aizawa went over to his desk and brought with him another office chair so Matvey could also sit with him.

"Come on Matvey, this shouldn't take the whole lunch break," Aizawa said.

Matvey looked over to Aizawa's desk and walked to it, each step giving him a feeling of dread rising up in him.

He finally made it to the office chair that his teacher set aside for him and leaned back in it, swiveling in it from side to side. It was then, when the two were sitting in the same chair that Matvey realized that he was about the same height as his teacher. It wouldn't be an appropriate time to check though as he Aizawa pulled his scarf down to talk earnestly to his student.

"So, how are you? Did you regain any memories of what happened over at USJ?" Aizawa asked.

Matvey shook his head no, "Still blank."

"Hm… and do you feel any different since then?"

"Uh… I can't say that I do." Matvey answered

"Okay… now this next question may sound bizarre to you… but have you ever healed anyone with your wings?"

Matvey sat up straight in the office chair after hearing the question. To him, the question came from left field, but for Aizawa, he had actually seen Matvey do it.

Matvey's been curious about his own quirk for a few days now and hearing the question made him believe that his homeroom teacher may have some answers to his curiosity.

"Heal? N-No, I 've never done that," he responded.

Aizawa sighed, "Well in that case, I guess now's a good time to tell you about what happened."

Aizawa began to tell Matvey about the events that took place over USJ. He was able to tell him all that he knew. Matvey also spent time with Hiryu and Kendo so he would also need to get in touch with them after the meeting he's having with his teacher. Matvey also learned that before going to USJ that he was elected as the Vice Representative of the Class.

Aizawa was now at the part where both he and Matvey were laid out on the ground, both of them near death.

"So… that big bird mascot thing I saw fighting All Might when I first woke up… was trying to kill us?" Matvey asked, referring to the Nomu.

"Yeah, of course All Might took that out, but in regard to what I really want to talk to you about, that's not that important."

He didn't want to say the next part of the story out loud for people to hear, so Aizawa got closer to Matvey and peered into his light brown eyes.

"When we were both down you were knocked out with blood pouring from your head, while I was still conscious but unable to move from what the Nomu had done prior. I had thought that we would both be dying right there, but then… your wings suddenly deployed out and covered me, but oddly enough you were still unconscious."

Matvey was hanging on to every word his teacher was saying. From what his teacher was telling him, it would explain the blood on his hero costume and in his hair.

"After your wings came out and covered me, they started glowing a light pink and when they did, I could feel my injuries and wounds getting healed."

Aizawa knew he sounded crazy describing the event to the Russian teen, but Matvey didn't perceive what his teacher was saying as that way.

'Glowing wings? Does that have anything to with…'

Aizawa was about to speak but Matvey interrupted him by scooching closer to his teacher.

"Wait. When I was out did I by chance also happen to have a halo appear above my head? A pink halo?"

Aizawa always weary eyes had open a bit at what Matvey asked, "Yes… how'd you know that if you don't remember anything about that day?"

"The day that I left the nurses office and went on the train to get home, I saw it appear over my head as I was dosing off listening to music. When I saw it, I freaked out and it disappeared. Since then, I haven't been able to bring it back."

Aizawa quirked an eyebrow at the student, "It also appeared when you were dosing off to music huh? I would say that appears when you're in a state of unawareness, but that would be hard to believe since it also appeared when you were knocked out."

Matvey scratched the back of his head in agreeance, "Yeah that's tough to explain."

Aizawa looked to the window as he was trying to tie more clues about the Russian boy's quirk. He'd normally assist his students in advancing their knowledge of their own quirks, and with Matvey, he took a special interest in his quirk. If he was able to save both of their lives and completely heal their injuries, then Aizawa wanted to bring that mysterious power out of Matvey. It would be a great help for when and if he gets out in the field, not to mention it could also shed some light on what else he could do.

"… So I know you said you don't remember anything about what happened at USJ, but there must've been something that happened to you when you were unconscious and on the verge of dying. Something that caused you to bring out our wings, have a halo appear over your head and heal me and yourself," Aizawa stated with his vision still starting out the window.

Matvey shrugged his shoulders, "… I still have no clue."

Aizawa continued looking out the window before taking a deep sigh as he didn't have much else to add.

"You said you've been trying to recreate it, what've you been doing?" Aizawa asked, turning his sights back to the student.

"For my time off from school, I've been listening to music and dozing off to it, I also have a mirror setup near me as I do it to see if the halo appears, but for each attempt I got nothing. I think it's probably because I'm expecting it to appear that it doesn't," Matvey theorized.

The homeroom teacher nodded his head understandingly.

"I even asked my family if they knew anything about it and they said knew nothing about a halo," Matvey added.

Aizawa hummed in response, "Hm… well maybe I could be of help. Afterschool today I was planning on doing some Yoga and meditation. Activities such as that might be a great help in bringing back that halo you were talking about."

Matvey outwardly fidgeted a bit at the offer, but on the inside, his heart was about to jump out his chest.

'Hell No!'

"…Sure."

Matvey didn't want to, but if there's any way he can discover what his quirk truly is then he'd be willing to spend some time with his least favorite teacher.

"Okay, so I'll be seeing you after school then. Meet me at the Ground Omega Entrance Gate at 3:50," Aizawa instructed as he pulled out a lunch box from the drawer of his desk and turning his chair away from Matvey so he can eat his lunch.

Matvey got up from the chair and was going to make his leave as the conversation between the two had ended.

"Yep, I'll see you then."

Matvey walked around the school for the remainder of the lunch break. With what his teacher had told him about what happened at USJ, he had a few things to think about, so he opted not to sit in the noisy cafeteria with his classmates.

When the lunch break was five minutes from its end, Matvey returned to his classroom. Opening the door, he saw a few of the students in the room as most of them was still enjoying the little time remaining on their lunch break.

One of the students in the class was Togaru, who sat in front of Matvey.

Not wanting to sit in silence for the five minutes he had before classes started, Matvey decided to try and strike up a conversation with Togaru.

Matvey closed the classroom door and took his seat behind the taller student who had one headphone bud in his air and was busy playing some mobile game on his phone.

"Hey."

Togaru didn't turn around to see the person talking to him, he only glanced his eyes to the side and gave Matvey a low grunt in response.

"What game are you playing there?" Matvey asked.

"… A mobile game," Togaru answered snidely.

It was clear that Togaru wasn't in the mood to talk, but Matvey kept on.

From the time he first met Togaru, Matvey has never seen him conversate with anyone in the class. Some of the students have tried, but Togaru would always turn them down. He was always on his own.

Matvey wanted to at least try and bring the classmate from out of his shell. He overheard from Hiryu and Manga that Togaru had saved All Might from danger while they were in USJ. With Matvey still not knowing what happened over at USJ, he thought about asking Togaru about what happened as a way to find something else to talk about.

"… So I heard that you saved All Might over at USJ. How'd that happen?"

Togaru, this time turned his head around and looked briefly at the Russian boy. Matvey saw a look on Togaru's face that lacked care, showing Matvey that talking was the last thing he wanted to do.

The mantis student gave a quick and blunt response, "With my quirk."

Togaru then turned back around, leaving Matvey visibly puzzled.

'Geez, and I thought Midoriya was tough to talk to…' Matvey said in his mind. His neighbor was a timid ball of nerves when they first met, but after Matvey discovered Midoriya's hero journal the two neighbors been good friends since. He hoped he could have the same kind of luck with his classmate.

Matvey wanted to try a third time with Togaru but Togaru had spoken up and stopped him before he could.

"Listen," Togaru sternly hissed, "I know you're just trying to start a conversation with me, break me out of some shell or whatever… but I'm not interested, alright?" Togaru didn't wait for Matvey do give an answer, he got his other headphone bud and put it in his ear, blocking out everything,

Having been rejected, Matvey sighed.

Bored now, the Russian Student rested his right elbow on his desk, propped up his head on right hand and passed the remaining time on his phone.

The lunch break ended, and the rest of the classes went on without a problem.

They were almost about to be let out as the time on the clock read 3:09 PM.

Their last class was Mathematics and Ectoplasm was able to finish his lesson for the day early, leaving the 1B students alone in the classroom until the final bell would dismiss them at 3:15 PM.

Some of the students got up from their seats and started talking to each other.

"Man, I don't miss coming back to classes," Awase whined, his head resting on his desk, ready to go home.

"Right there with you Awase, the break was good, but as they say, all good things must come to an end," Setsuna recited.

"Coming back to classes shouldn't be this much of a letdown you know, after all, we've kind of gotten… rather popular since the USJ attack," Jurota remarked.

"Yeah… I can say that I've kind of gotten some looks from the other students," Nirengeki observed.

"I've noticed them too," Pony added.

Throughout the entirety of the first day they've been back, the 1B students had been the subject of some stares and side chatter.

It was mostly from their fellow first years.

This was the effect of the mass attention the class received after the attack at USJ. The media and news interviewed the students, putting them in the spotlight, and because of that, they were, in a sense, already were a step above the other first years.

"Well I guess we're the school celebrities now," Monoma joked.

"We also have a chance to be even bigger celebs with the Sports Festival coming up! Oh man I can't wait!" Inasa bubbled, eager to show everyone his passion and drive.

"Same, I can't wait to perform in front of everyone!" Kendo said, nearly mirroring Inasa's excitement.

The orange haired girl listened as the rest of the students in the class spoke amongst themselves. With her eyes on the classmates in front of her a finger had poked her shoulder.

She turned around and saw Matvey standing behind her.

"Hey Kendo," He greeted.

"Oh hey Matvey. What's up?"

"Nothing much," Matvey responded, "So I was speaking with Mr. Aizawa during the lunch break so he can fill me in on what happened during the USJ attack. He told me some stuff, but during his retelling of events, he brought up that I was with you and Hiryu."

Kendo nodded her head, "Yeah that's right. I'm guessing your memory still hasn't returned yet huh?"

"да (Da-Yes), so to help me get some recollection of what happened, I've just finished talking with Hiryu about it. Do you have time to talk?" Matvey asked.

"Sure! But you, me and Hiryu were mostly together, so I don't exactly have much new info I can give you," Kendo stated.

Matvey's shoulders slumped, "Oh."

"Yeah the only thing I can probably add is that I broke my hand defending us from that Nomu's punch and that you flew me up the catwalk of USJ so I can escape. Other than that, nothing else…"

For Kendo, it didn't feel right to skip the whole CPR incident. Matvey saved her life when he administered it, and by him doing it to her, it also made Matvey her first kiss. A fact that shouldn't be too big a deal given the circumstances, but a fact that Kendo didn't want to reveal to Matvey nonetheless.

'Wait… is it still a kiss between two people if the one doesn't remember?'

As Kendo was thinking to herself, Matvey looked down at Kendo's hand and saw that it was healed. Recovery Girl was able to treat Kendo's hand and it was fully healed during the break they had from school.

"Hiryu already told me that you saved us from the attack. Thanks for that by the way, I don't think we'd be here had you not done that," Matvey grimly thanked.

Kendo bashfully waved her hand, "Don't give me all the credit now, you helped a bunch too you know."

The pink haired student gave the girl a full grin and shrugged his shoulders, "Yeah, just wish I actual knew how my first-time fighting villains all played out though, but oh well…"

As the rest of class was talking, there was a knock at the door. Not everybody had heard it though.

With Matvey and Kendo being closest to the door had heard the knock clearly.

"Whose knocking at the door?" Matvey asked.

"I don't know, maybe we're being too loud?" Kendo thought.

Matvey walked over to the door and opened it.

What he saw when he opened the door made his heart jump.

He expected to see a teacher or a class 1A student to tell them to lower down the volume, but instead, he was greeted with a big crowd of students. All of them 1st years. All of them staring the Russian Angel.

Kendo was able to see the students from the corner of her eye and came over to the door as well. The rest of the students were now staring at the students at the door, curious on as to what was going on.

"… Uh… can I help you?" Matvey asked, confused on what they were all doing at Class 1B's door.

A bespectacled student with green hair that curled over the front stood up to answer.

"We all just came over to gander at the heroic Class 1B."

Matvey flashed his eyebrows after hearing the answer.

"Well if you're here to just gander at us…" the Russian student then pulled off his U.A. school jacket and quickly unbuttoned his white button up to expose his bare and well-toned upper body to the students standing at the door.

"Then gander on!... But autographs and pictures will cost you."

He was posing while down on one knee, sticking his chest out to emphasis his physique.

Silence filled the classroom and the hallways filled with students.

They were all doing as Matvey commanded and was taking a gander at the Angel, but it wasn't in a look of awe they were giving him… it was more of a look of disbelief and confusion.

'… I think I was right not telling Matvey about the CPR thing…' Kendo thought as she stood right next to him.

"(Ծ_Ծ How are you able to take your clothes off so quickly?" Manga questioned, being the first person to break the silence.

"You know…" A voice coming out from crowd uttered, "I hear that you in particular are supposed to be some sort of big deal… but after just one look at you…" The voice in the crowd had now came forward and made himself known to the 1B class, "I can see that you're just all hype."

The bold student who came forward was the General Studies student, Hitoshi Shinso, directing his belittling words at Matvey, who was currently posing shirtless in front of them.

"And looking at the rest of the class… makes me disillusioned," Shinso continued, now directing his scathing words at the rest of the students in the classroom.

The students in the classroom took great exception to what the purple haired student said to them. They didn't know what exactly sprung all of this on the 1B class, but they weren't going to take this kind of talk lying down.

Matvey let out a chuckle and got up from his pose and stood up straight to look directly into the sharp eyes of Shinso, "Pretty big words coming from a kid who couldn't make it to the hero department… What the hell makes you so ballsy today? Talking down to us like this?"

"Opportunity," Shinso replied plainly, "Depending on how we perform at the sports festival, the school has left a chance to transfer to the hero course. But of course, for us to be transferred into here… one of you needs to be transferred out and depending on how we make you all look at the sports festival, that may be a reality for some of you future heroes."

"Oh, I get it now… You're all scouting us for the sports festival," Monoma stepped up to say in a haughty tone, "We survived the villain attack, so they know that they're looking at the best and they want our spot."

"Don't be so sure of that!" A familiar and loud voice shouted from within the crowd. The students were pushed out the way by Kirishima who stepped up to also confront Class 1B.

A few of the 1A students were amidst the crowd as well.

"Consider this a warning shot sent to you all. Just because the media is talking about you guys don't mean you all are the top hero class!"

Monoma snickered at Kirishima, "The media isn't the only thing that puts us ahead of all of you. If I remember correctly, we were rather dominant in defeating you guys during the joint training exercises."

Underneath Monoma's scathing arrogance was the truth. Class 1B had soundly defeated Class 1A at the start of the school year and with the USJ incident happening that only raised the classes stock.

"Yeah, and if I remember correctly, we almost swept them too," Matvey added, slowly shifting his eyes over Monoma.

At the Joint Training, Class 1B nearly swept Class 1A, seven to none. They could've accomplished that, were it not for Monoma's team losing their match. His team fought hard, but in the end, victory was not in their cards that day.

Monoma's eyebrow's quirked as he was able to catch the sly remark and turned his attention to his Russian classmate.

He got closer to the taller Matvey and due to the 4.5 inch height difference, Monoma needed to get on his tip toes to get in Matvey's face, "… And if I remember correctly, a certain recommended student was about to get expelled on the second day of school," Monoma shot back, referring to Matvey and some other students not meeting Aizawa's expectations on the Quirk Apprehension Test.

This got a quiet grunt from the Angel, but he immediately shot a grin back at Monoma.

Matvey, the person that started this verbal battle of bad memories between himself and Monoma, responded back, now crouching a little so he could be at eye level with the blond, "And if I remember correctly, there might be a certain someone who's just a little jealous about the fact that I took the sixth and final spot on the recommendations list, while they finished seventh."

With the two's faces being so close to each other's, it was clear to the non-Class 1B students outside the door that the two didn't like each other very much and a fight would most likely be taking place if the situation wasn't defused.

As the tension between Monoma and Matvey were brewing, so was the tension from another student. That student being Kendo, who was right next to the two boys and getting rather annoyed from their petty back and forth.

"And if I remember correctly, there were two Class 1B students who got the back of their heads hit with a stiff chop," Kendo interjected.

Both Matvey and Monoma raised their eyebrows at what Kendo said, each of them too engrossed in staring each other down to notice Kendo's hands getting bigger.

"What?-"

Before the two could finish their question, Kendo had already swung both her hands to deliver a stiff knifehand strike to both of their heads.

Her hands reached their target and this time Matvey wasn't able to block the strike as she had connected with the back of Matvey's head.

The force of the hit caused Monoma and Matvey to butt their foreheads together as they were face to face.

"OW!" They both shouted, aching while on the floor from the hit from the back of the head and the colliding of their foreheads.

The orange haired girl had grabbed both boys and dragged them away from the door while the students on the outside looked on bewildered by what they saw.

The class representative now stepped forward to address the crowd by the door as Kendo took the two away. He approached the students in a careful manner as to not bring anymore animosity towards them, "Alright everyone, I think we've gotten our points across now… let's just all head back to our classes and- "

"No no no, don't do that Jurota!" Inasa badgered, rushing over to his class rep by the door, "These guys are here to stake their claim on us! That should make us all feel honored of such a high esteem from our fellow first-year classmates!"

The shaved head student turned his attention from Jurota and onto the much smaller students. While towering over most of them with an intense look in his eyes (scaring almost all the students), he gave the students an unintentional maniacal smile.

"I love this by the way! You're all aiming at the target at our backs. Targets that we all painted ourselves after we've done in just the short time we've been in this school!"

The students looked at Inasa warily as they were beginning to feel uneasy just being by him. His ferocious intensity overwhelming all of them.

The first-place recommended student slapped a hand to his chest, "Well I for one welcome your attempts to take us down! Bring this animosity! Bring this fire! Bring this passion and I promise on the day of the festival, and we'll bring ours!" Inasa declared.

"HELL YEAH!" Tetsu shouted from inside the classroom, feeling pumped from what Inasa had said.

Some of the students didn't feel as inspired as Tetsu however and Kosei was one of them, "What do you think you're doing you idiot!? You're just giving everyone more of a reason to target us at the festival!" The brown-haired student shouted.

"Oh come on Kosei! I'm sure all this attention we're getting is similar to the attention all the pro's get!" Tetsu said.

"I don't think most heroes deliberately draw that kind of attention to themselves," Sen retorted.

As Sen was replying to Tetsu, the school bell had rang, signaling that the end of the day had come.

As soon as the bell rang, Togaru, who was on his phone and didn't even acknowledge the massive crowd at the door, got up from his seat, grabbed his bag and headed towards the door, walking past Inasa and Jurota.

He had work after school and he didn't want to be late, so with his earbuds in and without uttering single a word, he began push his way through everyone, earning him some curses and whines from the students that he just walked through.

He didn't want to bother himself with dealing with the students that showed up, but Togaru knew what they specifically came to the 1B class and to him, it made no difference. If crushing the hopes and dreams of some students not good enough to make it to the hero course is what comes with winning the sports festival, then so be it is what he thought.

"Hey! Don't just walk away from us you bug jerk!" A high-pitched lisped voice spoke out to Togaru.

The departing student was halfway down the hall when he heard the insult. Though his earbuds were in and playing music, he still heard it.

He stopped walking and pulled out the buds, slowly turning his head and gave the crowd of students a doom-ridden glare that could sent shivers to a demon.

Most of the students went white and began to take a step back from Togaru, fearful that he may come to them.

Thankfully for them, that wasn't the case. Togaru popped his ear buds back and turned back around and continued walking down the hall.

"Dammit Mineta! Get off my back will ya!" 1A's Kaminari shouted as the small purple haired student used his quirk to latch himself on his friend's back, hoping that he could shield himself from Togaru as he was the one who uttered the insult at him.

"I-I-Is he g-gone?" Mineta meekly asked, peering his head over his classmates back.

With school ending, the tension growing within non 1B students had dwindled a little. They wanted to let it be known that they have something to prove. The 1A class wanted to remind Class 1B that they were also going to show out at the sports festival.

"Make sure you all enjoy these next two weeks in this class, because after the sports festival, some of you may be getting shipped out," Shinso warned, completely unafraid of the Class 1B hero students, "And the same goes for you 1A students as well," Shinso imparted, making sure to stare at the few 1A students who decided to join in on challenging Class 1B before walking away.

"Well we'll be seeing you there too!" Kirishima responded back before he and the rest of students began to walk away as well.

The 1B students looked on as the crowd was soon gone.

"Everyone's so intense," Yui mused in a bored tone.

"You're right, I guess we're really going to have to bring our A-game at the festival. After all, a certain someone decided to amp up everyone to take us down," Reiko mentioned, turning her eyes over to Inasa.

Inasa looked around in confusion, trying to figure out who was that 'certain someone' Reiko was mentioning.

"… Am I the 'certain someone'?" He genuinely asked.

"Who the hell else would she be referring too?" Awase said to Inasa.

Inasa shrugged his shoulders to Awase's question as he went over to his desk and grabbed his things so he could leave.

"Well we have two weeks to prepare for them, and just like Mr. Aizawa said, preparation is key! So let's make the best of it! See you tomorrow everyone!" Inasa said as he left the room.

Soon everyone else got up to leave. As the students were making there way out the door, Matvey's neighbor Midoriya came into the classroom. He came in to see his neighbor slowly gathering his things at his desk. He had with his upper torso out and about and he was rubbing one of the two small bumps that had developed on the back of his head and on his forehead.

"I didn't come along, but I know that some students went over here to challenge you… but do I want to know what happened to you?" Midoriya questioned as he approached the Angel.

Matvey looked over to Monoma who had similar bumps himself. The blonde student was getting his stuff together as well.

"No you don't."

Midoriya raised an eyebrow but decided to quickly move the conversation along.

"Okay… well with the Sports Festival coming up, me and some of my other classmates were planning on doing some training to prepare. You want to join?"

Matvey buttoned up clothes and put his bag over his shoulders and began to walk towards the door, "Wish I could, but I'm going to be working with my homeroom teacher."

The two neighbors were out of classroom now and discussing their evening plans with each other.

The 1B class was still clearing out and unbeknownst to Matvey, his plans were caught by some rather mischievous ears.

*In the halls of U.A.*

The two neighbors were walking through the hallways. With Midoriya leaving and Matvey staying at the school, they would just walk and talk until they reached the exit.

"So, you gotten a better grasp on quirk?" Matvey inquired.

Midoriya looked to the ground and squinted for a bit before answering as he didn't know how to answer.

"… I think I do. But one thing I know for sure is that I'm getting more comfortable with it."

"Well that's great… does it still hurt you when you use the quirk?"

Matvey remembered during the Joint Training, that Midoriya had damaged his fingers by just flicking them at some debris that was in his way.

The green haired student shamefully scratched the back of his head, "Yeah… but as of late, it hasn't hurt as much. I don't know if that means I'm getting better at using it or my threshold of pain's gotten higher."

"Let's hope it means your getting better at it," Matvey grinned, hoping to bring up Midoriya's spirits, "and you still don't know what the quirk is?"

"… No," Midoriya answered.

Matvey rubbed his chin and began to think about what Midoriya's quirk could possibly be and much like everyone else, he had no clue.

"Well… have you given it a name at least?"

"… A name?" Midoriya echoed.

"Yeah, like my quirk is Angel Wings, Juzo's quirk is Softening, my dad's quirk is Imitation, you given yours a name?"

"Oh… w-well I wouldn't even know what to name it to be honest, it's a pretty strange quirk I have," Midoriya pondered.

"Oh I see," Matvey said in some kind of self-realization, "you really want to be like All Might huh?"

Midoriya tripped over himself when he heard what Matvey had said. The green haired student hit the smooth hallway floor which made the students walking around him chuckle at his clumsiness.

He quickly got up to his feet and looked at Matvey with a scared look in his eyes.

"W-W-W-What do you m-mean by t-that?" He asked, his stutter rearing its ugly head once again.

Matvey cocked his eyebrow and tilted his head to the side to convey his confusion at Midoriya's strange reaction.

"… What I mean is, is that no one knows what All Might's quirk is either."

Upon hearing his answer, Midoriya's nervousness began to ease away, feeling foolish for his reaction.

"O-Oh… r-right! Y-Yeah it is just like his! Super Speed or Super Strength, who knows with him huh!?" Midoriya joked in an awkwardly tone.

Matvey could only give the smaller student an awkward smile of his own as he continued walking, "Uh… y-yeah, who really knows?"

*At the exit of the school*

Midoriya and Matvey were by the exit and was about to part ways.

"I'm about to head out now. You said you'll be meeting your teacher at 3:50 right? What'll you be doing by then?" Midoriya wondered.

Matvey pulled his phone out and checked the time. The time was 3:25, so he had 25 minutes to pass before he would meet with Mr. Aizawa.

"Well I got 25 minutes to spare, figure I can take a dump for about 20 minutes and meet with him after," Matvey considered.

Midoriya narrowed his eyes after what his friend had said, "Okay… you definitely could've kept that part to yourself,"

Matvey folded his arms at the remark Midoriya made, "Why should I? I can't take a shit in my own school?"

"That's not… oh whatever," Midoriya said listlessly before walking away, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you too," Matvey replied as he went to the restroom.

Time has passed, and Matvey was on his way to meet his teacher. After he finished up in the restroom, he changed into his school's gym clothes so he can immediately get ready for whatever his teacher has ready for him.

He reached the entrance of the gated Forest Region of the school and waited for Aizawa's arrival.

Matvey thankfully carried his phone with him as his teacher was late. It was 3:57 now and Matvey didn't peg his teacher as one who was tadry for things.

"Oh, come on, where the hell are you?" Matvey complained as he put his phone back in his pocket. He began to pace around the entrance as he kept on waiting.

Matvey's stomach was in knots as he wasn't looking forward to this meeting with his teacher, but he needed to do this if he wanted to learn more about his quirk.

Luckily for Matvey, the wait was over.

"Sorry I'm late," Aizawa dully apologized behind Matvey's back.

The Russian turned around to see his teacher. When he turned around, it felt like 500 pounds were dropped on his shoulders.

Aizawa, whose hair was tied up in a ponytail and was wearing a plain black long sleeve V-neck with black sweatpants, had someone else with him. Someone that Matvey didn't want to see at this time of the day, and that person was Monoma, who had an all-knowing smirk on his face.

"Your classmate here wanted to tag along on our session and I needed to wait on him to change," Aizawa explained as he pointed a thumb at the blond student.

Matvey began to grind his teeth behind his closed lips as the knots in the stomach was now starting to churn on the teen.

"I guess I should apologize to you myself Matvey, hopefully you didn't wait too long."

AN: We've reached 20 everyone! It's been tough at times but sticking through it was worth it. This was a pretty easy chapter to get through, can't wait to get to the next one.
