Jaune walked down the hall with his hands in his pockets as people were walking to class. "So you finally gonna tell me about how they talk with that Jay guy went?" Ryan asked him as Jaune looked down at him.
It had been a week since he had spoken with Jay and he had spent almost all of his time thinking of what to say to Ruby.
He had come up with nothing over the week. Just thinking about talking to Ruby again was nerve-wracking. It had been so long since they talked. How would she react? Did she completely hate him?
Jaune thought of these strategies but nothing seemed like it would work.
"It was about Ruby's past. Apparently, she wasn't always a menace. Her ability made her that way." He said as Ryan's eyes widened.
"But that wasn't what really has been bugging me. I got attacked by the mid-tier pieces this week. Cardin has beef with me!" Jaune cried as Ryan stopped dead in his tracks.
"Dude…?" Jaune asked as Ryan looked at him with wide eyes. "You beat… all of the Mid pieces?!" He cried as Jaune sweatdropped.
"That's what you choose to focus on?!" Jaune asked as Ryan nodded. 'Uhh yeah?! Beating the Mid-Tier Pieces isn't just something anyone could do! How high is your level anyway?!" Ryan said rapid-fire as Jaune sweatdropped.
"Uhh, I don't really know… How strong is Neon again?" Jaune asked as he rubbed the back of his neck. "She's around 3.5! There's a reason she's the queen!" Ryan cried as Jaune shrugged.
"Huh so was Reina…" Jaune said aloud as Ryan tilted his head. "Who the hell is Reina?!" He asked as Jaune put his hand on his chin. "A Mid-tier I fought a while ago. She had an explosive ability." Jaune said as Ryan nodded.
"Can't say I've heard of her…" He said before shaking his head. "But this is all so crazy! Ruby wasn't always all-powerful? You beat the Mid-Tier Pieces? And Cardin wants your ass handed to you on a silver platter?!" Ryan cried as Jaune rubbed his neck.
"Yeah, getting a Semblance is making my life change huh?" Jaune said as Ryan sweatdropped. "Yeah a lot more than it should." He said.
Jaune and Ryan walked in front of their class and prepared to go in. "Let's think about all of this later. Right now we have an ass kicking calc test to suffer through." Ryan said as Jaune's eyes turned into white ovals.
"T-test?!" He cried.
One ass kicking calc test later
"That… was… hell…" Jaune said as he walked out of the room with whited-out eyes. "Shouldn't have skipped class so often. Shit was easy for me." Ryan said as Jaune turned to him with murder in his still whited-out eyes.
"My bad bro!" Ryan said, sweating as Jaune slumped forwards. "Hey… why'd you come to Beacon?" Jaune asked as Ryan turned to him.
"Guess I just wanted to… this is one of the most prestigious schools out there. It's only natural to want to get in. I want to achieve my goals and attempt to get my dream job." He said, crossing his arms.
"The entrance test was easy enough. I was surprised there wasn't any kind of strength test like some schools have…" Ryan said with a low laugh as Jaune looked at him.
"D-did the floor system have anything to do with it…" Jaune asked, looking away as Ryan sighed. "Kind of… I was always low-tier trash growing up… I always wanted that power… to be above everyone. Sounded like a dream… I really am a piece of shit huh?" Ryan said as Jaune shook his head.
"Nah, you've changed. A piece of shit wouldn't change no matter what." Jaune said as Ryan looked at him in surprise before smiling to himself.
"I guess you're right," Ryan said as Jaune smiled before putting his hands in his pockets and starting to walk off. And Ryan followed suit.
"So Ryan… you love your little sister huh?" Jaune asked as Ryan nodded. "Yeah, I love her more than anything." He said as Jaune smiled. "I have seven sisters. They can be giant pain in the asses but I love them." He said as Ryan looked down.
"I would've had two sisters… but Ai… left me." Ryan said as Jaune looked stunned. "You don't mean…" he trailed off.
"I have two moms. The one who raised me… and the one that died when I was 2. It was a robbery at the bank and she got caught in the crossfire." Ryan said as Jaune gulped.
"That day I lost my mother and sister and I never got to see them again. Eventually my father married a new woman and she and he had a new daughter. That's how I got my little sister Ikuki." Ryan said as tears welled up in his eyes.
"That's why I love her so much. I don't wanna lose her like I lost Ai…" He fought back tears.
"Wait… I don't see why I'm even telling you thi-" He said, cut off by Jaune embracing him. "Sorry about your loss, man." was all he said as Ryan hugged him back. "Thanks man." He said as the two broke apart.
"Alright enough of the sappy shit… let's head to the next class." Ryan said, wiping his eyes as Jaune nodded.
"Sure man. I got Language Arts, you?" He asked as Ryan thought for a second. "I got geometry." He said as Jaune nodded. "Alright see you man." Jaune said as Ryan put up a thumbs up.
"Same here. See you man." Ryan said before he walked off.
A few annoying ass classes later
Jaune walked out of P.E class sweaty as a bitch as he panted. "Nothing like a good practice workout!" He said as he drank down his energy drink. The electrolytes giving a boost and making the drink taste even better.
But he didn't get to enjoy life for some time before he saw Dylan get slammed onto the floor. "What the-'' Jaune didn't get to finish his sentence as a fireball whizzed past his head.
He turned and saw the man himself. Cardin Winchester stood, glaring at him. "YO Arc!" He called with an evil smirk.
"What do you want?" Jaune asked, despite knowing good and damn well what Cardin wanted. "Word on the street is that you've got an ability and have become the new Low-Tier King!" He said as Jaune's eyes narrowed.
"Maybe… What's it to you?" Jaune asked as Cardin's face twisted into a grimace. "I came to teach your bitch ass a lesson!" He roared as Jaune took a step back.
"You might be King of the low-tier trash but I'm king of the whole floor! Time for you to learn that lesson! Just like Ryan!" Cardin said as Jaune's eyes widened. Ryan had gotten into a fight with Cardin after becoming King?
Cardin then summoned two fireballs before sending them at Jaune who dodged. Jaune then felt the ground heat up beside him heat up as he looked down and a swirl of fire blasted him off his feet.
"Shit!" He cried as he hit the ground. But the worst of it wasn't over as Jaune looked up and saw Cardin boosting towards him with fire.
"Oh come on!" He cried before standing up. Cardin swirled his arms in fire and prepared to strike down Jaune before Jaune's blue eyes glowed.
"You want a fight? Then you've got one." Jaune thought before summoning a shield and blocking Cardin's strike. He then leaped back before summoning shurikens and throwing them at Cardin.
Cardin then deflected them with fire and smirked. "Oh? So this is your ability? You create light weapons?" Cardin cried before rushing forwards again.
Jaune dodged to the side but Cardin swung around and smacked Jaune's back as the people around backed away when he hit the ground.
Cardin descended upon him again with a fire fist, preparing to end the fight. "Yeah, as if I'm such a pushover!" Jaune thought before he leaped up and summoned a gauntlet.
He then met Cardin head-on as the two punches canceled each other out. Jaune then summoned a whip and wrapped it around Cardin's leg and yanked, causing the older boy to fall over.
Jaune then summoned a shield and threw it at Cardin and the boy was smacked upside the head.
"Had enough?!" Jaune asked as Cardin stood up and wiped the blood off his forehead as he gave Jaune a manic grin.
"Is that all you got?" He taunted as Jaune's eyes narrowed.
"Great. The asshole doesn't fall from a few hits." Jaune thought as Cardin focused on the ground under his feet.
Flames blasted under Cardin's feet and hurled him at Jaune as he slammed his fire fist into the blond's face, sending him sprawling.
Jaune landed on the ground as blood trickled down his face.
Cardin laughed and stood up as he turned towards the students in the hallway. "See that bitches?! No one fucks with Cardin!" He roared at them as everyone put their heads down.
Dylan laid on the ground witnessing everything as he remained barely conscious. "Arc… you idio-" Dylan didn't get to finish that thought as everyone went silent.
"What the fuck are you all lookin' at…" Cardin said before he heard a voice.
"Hey, Dick," Jaune said as Cardin turned and saw the boy standing up with blood running down the middle of his face.
Cardin glared as Jaune fully picked himself up. "Learn to finish the job before you gloat!" he said as Cardin glared even more.
"You bastard!" He said as fire gathered around his feet before Cardin once again fired himself at Jaune.
"I don't know if he's arrogant or just an idiot!" Jaune thought as he saw Cardin rushing at him.
"I don't have Ruby's outright strength… I can't beat this guy through power alone… every fight I've won has been through finding a way to outsmart my opponent. I can do the same thing here!" Jaune thought as his eyes shot open.
Cardin prepared to slam down as Jaune summoned a shield and blocked Cardin's strike and jumped on his back before slamming his foot into the shield and pushing off, sending Cardin across the hallway.
Jaune then summoned a whip and wrapped it around Cardin's leg. But this time, instead of pulling simply stopped Cardin, causing the boy's face to smash into the floor.
Jaune then rushed forwards and leaped up before summoning a whole new weapon.
"Mace!" He called as he summoned a Mace and slammed down on Cardin's head.
Cardin went limp as he was knocked out by the blow as Jaune breathed heavily. He didn't hear it at first but when his adrenaline ran out and he fell to his knees, he heard applause. He turned and saw most of the students were happily applauding his victory.
Jaune smiled as he stood up on shaky legs. It might have been only because he beat an asshole but everyone seemed happy he'd won.
"I wonder… Could I change this place?" Jaune wondered aloud as a teacher came out and yelled at the students to return to class.
He walked up to Jaune and put his hand on Jaune's shoulder. "Congratulations on your promotion to Mid-tier King. I hope you take this responsibility seriously." He said as Jaune looked at the teacher's hand before smiling.
"Yeah! Of course! I'll wear it with pride sir!" Jaune said as the man smiled before patting his back. "Get to the nurse. That fight couldn't have been easy." He said as he walked off.
Jaune then looked at his hands as his eyes glowed. "The Hierarchy is flawed… but that doesn't mean it should be removed. It might… need to be fixed!" He thought.
Time skip 2 weeks later
The High-Tier pieces walked into the gymnasium and stood at the podium as the Hierarchy Meeting was about to begin.
Coco Adel was the leader of the group and walked up as the pieces stood around her. Velvet Scarlatina, Fox Alistair, Yatduhashi Daichi, and… Ruby Rose.
Coco coughed before she addressed the group. "Alright, everyone! As you know it has been 1 month since the last meeting. I heard there were some difficulties so I hope this goes smoothly." Coco said as she snuck a glance at Ruby who looked away and blew a bubble with her gum.
"Alright now. Who is the strongest here?" Coco asked. She heard it was Cardin after Ruby left.
But to her surprise, a blonde boy walked up with his hands in his pockets. "Yo! Jaune Arc at your service!" He said.
"Oh… hello Jaune. Congratulations on your title!" She said as Jaune nodded at her. "How is it down here?" She asked as Jaune smiled.
"Same hellish place, nothing new. Class is still boring too!" He said as a few students snickered. Coco shook her head before smiling. "Ok so is there anything else…?" She asked as Jaune smirked. "Yeah." He said.
Jaune then punched Ruby in the face, knocking her down. Everyone gasped as Ruby rubbed her nose before glaring up at Jaune. "The fuck was that for?!" She asked as Jaune shrugged. "Just cuz'" He spoke as Ruby stood up and her eyes glowed as she healed her wounds.
Her fist then was surrounded by energy as she swung at Jaune who summoned a shield and deflected the attack. Ruby then tried to kick at him as Jaune jumped back to avoid it. "Nice try." He taunted with a smirk before Ruby started powering a blast in her hands.
"Now it gets tricky." He thought as Ruby shot a ball at him and Jaune leaped to the side before sprinting at Ruby.
He could tell from her confused expression that Ruby had no idea what he was planning to do and simply went into a defensive stance.
He then jumped and summoned his mace before slamming it down. Ruby jumped back as the mace hit the ground, but Jaune wasn't in sight when she looked up.
"Where are you looking?! I'm right here!" He cried from behind her as Ruby turned only to be met with a gauntlet across her face.
Ruby staggered back and fell to the ground as she attempted to heal herself. But Jaune was on her once again and threw out a few shurikens that slashed the sides of her face.
Ruby cried out as Jaune summoned brass knuckles and punched her across the face.
Everyone looked shocked as Ruby was being beaten by Jaune. They couldn't figure why he was winning and why she wasn't beating his ass senseless.
Jaune smirked as he figured out Ruby's weakness. During all her fights, whenever she healed she wasn't taking damage. If she was taking damage she wasn't healing. She also never healed while using other abilities like her shield.
Jaune then threw more shurikens to keep Ruby on edge before he summoned his mace again and slammed it into her stomach and threw her across the gym and into a wall.
Jaune then used a whip to swing off a basketball backboard and flew at Ruby before summoning brass knuckles.
Jaune then went to punch Ruby but she slammed her fist into his stomach and sent him sprawling across the floor.
He stood up and spat out blood as he looked up to see Ruby perfectly healed and patting her shoulder.
"How the hell…?" He thought as Ruby looked at him. Jaune then got into a fighting stance as Ruby rushed at him. He then summoned a whip and a sword and wrapped it around before throwing it up and slashing a beam near the ceiling.
It crashed down and hit Ruby in the face as Jaune smirked. Ruby once again stood up and healed as she stared at him. "Gotta give credit. You've become a decent fighter since I left." She said as Jaune put his hands in his pockets. "Yep. I got a lot of practice." He said as Ruby gave a small smile.
"Still gotta beat your ass though!" She cried before she pumped energy into her legs and shot at Jaune as he summoned a shield and Ruby's fist crashed into it and cracked the shield as Jaune jumped back.
"I got to knock her out in one shot… a hit to the temple should do it." Jaune thought as Ruby shook her wrist.
Jaune and Ruby then rushed at each other with both preparing to deal the final blow.
But before either of them could connect Jaune was suddenly transported behind Ruby. He turned in shock and noticed that Fox had grabbed him. He then turned to Coco and she took off her sunglasses and glared at Ruby and Jaune.
"While that was great entertainment. I can't allow this fight to finish. Even if I am just the Bishop." She said as Jaune gasped. Ruby had really become the Queen?
Ruby then put her hands behind her back and shrugged. "Just a fight." She said as Coco shook her head.
"To prevent another issue happening at this meeting, we will leave. I hope you all have a great day!" She said as she stepped down and walked out with the others as Fox walked off with them.
Jaune then took a look at Ruby who walked off as well. He then sighed before walking off as well.
A while later
Jaune walked past the gymnasium when he heard the sounds of a basketball bouncing. He walked in and saw Ruby make a shot and walked up to her.
"What's up?" He asked as Ruby turned to him. "Just shooting a few hoops. What about you?" She said as Jaune walked past her. "Walking around when I heard you." He said as Ruby shot once more and made it.
"So... how've you been?" He asked as Ruby shrugged before making a shot she missed.
She then passed the ball to Jaune as they traded spots. "Climbed to the High-Tiers and became the new Queen. Been kinda boring." She said as Jaune took a shot and made it.
"Same story for me. Obvious Mid-Tiers instead and the new King." He said as Ruby rolled her eyes with a smile. "Kinda missed you not gonna lie." She said as Jaune smirked. "Oh, were you crying yourself to sleep?" He asked as Ruby punched him lightly in the arm.
"Yeah right! You were probably doing that for me!" She laughed as Jaune made another shot.
"So… wanna head to Dave's Great Drinks to talk?" He asked as Ruby smiled before nodding. "Yeah. let's head out, Vomit Boy." She said,
The two walked out and headed to Dave's Great Drinks to catch up on everything that happened in the last two months.
So this chapter was kinda short IMO and I took 80 years to update but I hope you enjoy it anyway. Now Ruby and Jaune have made up and I'm planning on having them talk fully in the next chapter. Hope you enjoyed R/R and have a good one GOOOD BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I agree with many things you said after reviewing my own story. I do wanna say that some things are meant to be that way due to me trying(and failing) to make a duality between Jaune and Ruby. As for the abilities, I don't plan to keep Jaune's ability exactly the same… let's just say that. Jaune's opinions on the Hierarchy are slowly changing from how Ruby views it and I will fully change it in a few chapters.

There it is. Jaune and Ruby have made up. Uru-Chan likely made John and Sera take so long to truly show how destructive John was to both the school and himself. But I didn't need to do that since Ruby nor Jaune are destructive… yet.
