And I live!
Hello, I'm back, I'm good, and I'm pretty satisfied with this chapter. After this, if I don't have any other ideas for the visit to London, I'll go straight into a meeting with a very important character in this story. I'll leave you to guess who.

Also, thank you so much for 100 followers! I just checked the page of this story and I was amazed to see this. Like wow!

The favorites are almost at 100 too. Let's aim for 100 favorites in 2 chapters! How's that? Do you think you can do it?

I hope you do! But first, please enjoy the chapter!

Recap:

"Hoos dere?" someone slurred.

I froze.
And slowly, slowly looked up to the angry face of a clearly drunk man staring at weak, vulnerable baby me.

Well, s**t.

Thankfully, he seems to not have seen me yet, as I'm a rather short baby. He's looking around in confusion with heavy-lidded eyes, like he's about to pass out drunk at any second.

Well, let's see here; I have three options:

Option One: I turn around run as fast as my legs can carry me, and immediately get caught because one-year-olds cannot run fast.
Option two: Apologize and hope he doesn't do anything to me
Option three: Do nothing and wait for something to happen, such as maybe, if I'm lucky, the man passing me by without noticing me.

I'm not liking any of these.

It turned out I didn't need to choose any of those options.

"Father." I heard a quiet voice from behind me. It was Felix. I still didn't dare to move, no matter how much I wanted to see his face then, because movement catches the eye. I did not want to catch the eye of the person in front of me, no thank you.

"Feelix?" the man's eyes seemed to focus on someone in front of him for a second before getting hazy again. "So it was just you, huuhh? I'll get back to my room then." he turned around and staggered off, making me sigh in relief. So that was the famous, mysterious, Mister De Vanily huh?

...I'm disappointed.

"Are you okay, Sophie?" he helped me up slowly to my feet. "Come on, the washroom's this way." he pointed in the opposite direction from where I was going.

"Hah?" I made a confused noise and shook my head, but followed him anyway.. True to his word, there was a door with a bathroom sign on it. I quickly went in and did my business, then peeked out the door. Surprisingly, Felix was waiting for me.

"Is something wrong, Sophie?" he called out to me. I shook my head (this time with a smile) and fully exited the bathroom, closing the door behind me.

"Lezgo back!" I said happily. "Which way?"

I heard a 'pffttt' sound and looked at him suspiciously, but his head was turned away so I couldn't tell if he made the noise or not. He grabbed my wrist, though, and gently led me back towards the dining room. "Seriously, we came through the halls just now but you can't even remember the way back? Pfftt."

I pouted at his shaking shoulders.

"Oh, you're back! We were worried." my aunt calmly greeted me as if she hadn't been arguing with Mom when we left. Adrien was looking at both of them with wide eyes, like he was watching an interesting tennis match but nothing was happening.

"She ran into Dad. Literally."
Aunt Amelie winced. "I... am so sorry. I should've come with you. Are you alright?"

"You know already that going with her would've done nothing except him dragging you somewhere and leaving us alone." the admirably smart 3-year-old said.

"Yeah, you have a point." She looked sad for a moment, but clapped her hands and said, "Alright! Who's ready for a full tour of the house?" she added in a mutter to herself, "As soon as I get the butler to lock James in his room."

That made both Mom and I a little concerned about the situation here, but she waved us off once she saw our faces. "Come on, Emmy, even if you've grown up here I had a little renovation a few months ago. Did you notice any changes to the parlor while you were there?" she said in a cheeky tone.
It seems she misinterpreted our faces, maybe intentionally, but I'm not going to complain. If she wants help, she'll ask for it. Aunt Amelie is a lot of things, but she's not stupid.

After that incident, our stay at the Manor (consisting of only 2 days) ended successfully. Unfortunately, only the three of them and the maids and the one butler were living there, so the majority of it was used, which is a shame. I hope they at least figure out a use for it instead of letting it go to waste.

Well, that's not my problem. I'm back in France now, and Adrian and I have a new impending play-date with one of my favorite characters. See you in the next chapter!
