"Ne ne ne Shin do you think we'll be able to find a boar today?" a voice asked another. The one who spoke turned to look at the other, seeing spiky dark purple colored hair and a pair of mismatched eyes look at him. The other person could be seen wearing a simple black vest that was opened in the front and the collar was popped up. Wearing a matching pair of slacks and a pair of basic black hiking boots.
"I'm not entirely sure Luffy, we will definitely try though." The other boy said back. He looked towards Luffy to see black shaggy hair and round black eyes staring back at him. Luffy could be seen wearing short blue trousers with cuffs, sandals and a sleeveless red vest.
"You know.. For us being twins we don't look alike." Luffy pointed out to his twin brother. He laughed, "Shishishi.. I mean our eyes make everyone question whether we are twins or not. Yours are purple and green while mine is just pure black." He says while pointing towards his brother's eyes. "Shin..do you think you take after our mother more?"
"I'm not entirely sure there Lu. We don't really know our parents." Shin responded frowning slightly. He shushed his brother when he spotted a smaller boar than normal. "You wanted a boar right Lu?"
"Yea!" Luffy responded enthusiastically, instantly quieting down so as to not startle the boar. Luffy watched as his brother knocked an arrow and pulled back.
Shin took aim and took a couple minutes longer to settle his nerves. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. On that last exhale a small amount of wind gathered around the arrow. Inhale. Aim. Exhale. Shoot! The arrow launched. Flying through the air, it's aim was true, landing just through the neck of the young boar. "Got it!" Shin exclaimed. He snapped his fingers in triumph and lost his balance from the branch of the tree falling out of the tree. "OW!"
"Shin!" Luffy yelled out concerned, hopping from branch to branch climbing down from the tree they were in. He ran over to his brother who was rolling around on the ground holding his head. "You ok Shin?" he questioned. Hovering over his brother, he wasn't sure where to touch.
"I'm ok Luffy." Shin breathed out. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Sit up. Exhale. Shin grimaced in pain. "Don't forget to skin and clean our kill Lu."
"Oh!" Luffy straightened up looking at the dead boar wide eyed. "Right! I got this." He murmured calmly rushing over to the dead boar to do exactly that.
A few moments later Shin managed to get up and grab the leaf basket the twins had made a couple months prior. Walking over towards Luffy who was still cleaning the boar having set aside the pelt. Shin grabbed the pelt with an idea in mind he smiled and said, "Getting better Lu. I'll show you how to cut the meat when we get home, sounds good?"
"Yea!" Luffy bounced in place, having finished cleaning the boar finally. "What do we do with the innards again?" Luffy questioned, he was staring curiously at all the guts.
"Leave them. They will be gone in a few hours anyways." Shin shrugged his shoulders and hefted the heavy basket over his shoulder. "Grab the hide Lu. I have something in mind for it. We just don't want to have extra to clean."
"Got it Shin!" Luffy yelled, grabbing the hide. They both made the trek back to their makeshift shelter. "Do we still need water, Shin?"
Shin thought for a moment. "We currently have half a barrel full of water. That should be enough to last us a couple more days. We still need to clean up before we make it home."
"We can hit the river since it's on the way, Shin." A new voice chimed in. "Besides you can't really get into the water anymore since you ate that devil fruit Lu."
Luffy grimaced and glanced at the newcomer, a handsome young man with short blond hair and blue eyes could be seen walking alongside Shin. He wore a plain white dress shirt, with a black and yellow vest over it buttoned up. Black slacks and dress shoes complemented the look. "I know that Aug. But that's why I have you and my brother with me. This way I can still take a bath and not die from drowning." Luffy grinned a big D grin.
Aug sighed, "That may be so but do you really want to worry your own soulmate? How many do you have again?" he looked towards Luffy checking for any more marks outside of the one he saw before.
"Un.. I gained another mark. This one is a flower. See?" Luffy turned his head just slightly showing off the small flower on the left side of his neck.
"Nice going there Luffy. Two Soulmates. I only have my Elizabeth. She is all I'll ever need." Aug boasted slightly. "What about you Shin? I know you're marked down with marks. But are you able to tell how many you have?"
Shin shook his head, "Not really. I know these two marks represent one person and these two marks look like they represent one person. But I'm still not totally sure, and since I am a reincarnation twice over. In a way I kinda wish I knew who all my mates were, but not even my friend Luna from a past life could tell who they were." Shin shrugged a bit, "Granted she led me to one mate. I guess that counts for something."
"So which one is his? Can you tell?" Aug asked, he was curious. Getting Shin to talk about his past at first was really hard and when he opened up about it. Well let's just say everything started to make sense.
"I know which one's Vic's cause I've already been with him once before. He's seen my demon side also." Shin smiled wistfully as he touched a pair of tribal markings on his shoulder leading down his arm towards a tribal band. "I'm not too sure who this one belongs to." Shin indicated the band just below Vic's mark.
"So that makes two different sets of tribal marks. A tribal band just below that goes around your arm. On your lower arm an intricate heart with a smiley face that looks connected to another symbol." Aug began to list off.
"That's the other one that feels like it belongs to one person rather than two." Shin supplied.
"Geez. If that's the case then I've already listed off three mates. It's not including the water symbol on your chest. Another intricate heart on your stomach, that one looks cooler in a way more jagged. Plus that flame on the wrist of your other arm. Am I missing any other marks?" Aug questioned exasperated.
"The giant turkey on Shin's back!" Luffy responded with childish amusement.
"It's a Phoenix Lu, not a turkey." Shin told his brother in fond annoyance. Seems they have this conversation a lot. "Garp says he has something important to tell us, Lu. He should be here tomorrow if he's even coming here that is." Shin started grumbling.
"Something tells me he won't be here. He stopped showing up after Ace sailed off." Luffy supplied. He gently set the hide down to wash it at the river. Shin dropped the basket with a sigh.
"If it was that heavy why'd you carry it Shin?" Aug questioned confused.
"Shin fell out of the tree we were in." Luffy responded truthfully.
"Still getting excited when the arrow hits its mark with wind magic?" Aug snickered, giving a cheshire grin towards Shin.
"You remember how hard it was training our magic! Try attaching it to something that's supposed to fly across the sky at high speeds!" Shin defended. "Besides! I finally got it to work, that's what got me so excited."
"Really now?" Aug became intrigued as his eyebrows rose to his hairline. "That's a first. You attached runes to your sword in our past life. Have you tried something similar yet here?" Shin shook his head, he grabbed the dead boar and brought it over to the river, beginning to clean the kill completely. "Do you intend to?"
"I want to try something similar to our boat, you know? Problem is I'm not sure if we should start with a smaller one or a medium sized boat." Shin told his bond brother seriously.
"We're getting a medium sized boat. Luffy and I have been paying for it in our off times." Aug told Shin seriously.
Shin jolted a bit sitting straighter, "Why haven't you told me until now? Luffy's going to be the Captain. I should help out with getting the boat."
"You're the Captain!" both Aug and Luffy exclaimed together.
"You're the one who Shanks gave his hat to! Not me!" Luffy told his brother angrily.
"How does that equate to me being Captain of the crew?" Shin asked his brother, baffled.
"It's the crew that nominates the Captain, Shin and since the three of us are going to be crew members, Luffy and I have nominated you as Captain. Besides, how is this any different than being the leader of the Ultimate Magicians?" Aug questioned him point blank.
"When did I become the leader?" Shin whined. "Besides I only taught you guys the way I use magic. God I was Leader of the Light in my last life also. Even that was thrust onto me." Shin clutched his head and whined slightly with a small pout.
Aug and Luffy both laughed at his expense. Shin tensed and looked around them, "There's someone here." Shin told the pair.
"Worlds End, I don't think we should continue this way." a voice muttered out. He cast a sideways glance towards short white hair and pale skin. Gleaming red eyes looked back at him in annoyance, his face contorted into a snarl showing off his fangs. Three black oval shaped markings on the left side of his face connected towards two black angled lines on his chest. The markings could be seen going from his collarbone down into his pants. An intricate black tattoo could be seen on the left side of his body connecting the two pieces together.
Worlds End could be seen wearing a black hoodie with his chest area exposed along with light colored slacks. Black military grade boots could be seen to top off the outfit. "You said you could feel your mate in this direction. Why shouldn't we go this way?" Worlds End glared at the other, seeing shoulder-length, blue hair with his front bangs reaching his eyes. He saw red eyes staring back at him with dark bags under them. "God you need to sleep sometime." Those same eyes just continued to stare at him half-lidded with the express feeling of boredom. A single fang could be seen poking out of his closed mouth.
"I do sleep." The other snarled out, still bored.
"If you slept you would change your outfit every now and again instead of every century." Worlds End indicated towards the current outfit consisting of a blue jacket just a tad darker than his hair color the hood pulled up over the others head. Black fur looking close to his other form. With a small patch on his left shoulder containing the Roman Numeral of one. The blue jacket is often buttoned open, and either a black or white shirt could be seen under the jacket. On both sides of his jacket contained pockets. The hem of the jacket could be seen split into many threads, starting short at the front and growing in length as they reached the back. He wore white pants that are skin-tight and held up by a red belt, which is rarely seen. Long, black boots that almost reach his knees top off the outfit.
"Just cause I like the style I'm wearing doesn't mean I have to change it to stay with the times! If that were the case this wouldn't be so troublesome."
"Hahaha that's just like you Sleepy Ash." Worlds End smirked slightly towards Ash. "Do you think we will need Eve's in this world?" Worlds End glanced towards the sky. They had stopped walking since the ones they were following were now at the riverbank.
"I'm not sure. But logic believes we will." Ash told End honestly.
"Hahaha! What kind of irony would it be if your mate was also your Eve?" End laughed and joked loudly.
"Shh!" Ash told him, glaring at the other. They both ducked behind a giant tree trunk.
"There's someone here." a voice told the other two. Both Ash and End looked at each other startled. They were far enough away so they shouldn't have been detected.
"Are you sure Shin?" another voice asked.
"I wouldn't question that Luffy. I would be questioning how many. Your brother's detection radius is much larger than even mine. So if he picks up something it's because they hit his radar before mine." the third voice chimed in.
"That just means we need to work on your radius, August." Shin told the other glancing at the forest. He was looking right at the tree Ash and End were hiding behind. "But to answer your question. There's two. However they feel different than a normal person does. So I'm not sure what they are." Glancing towards the sky to see the orange hues of the sun going down. "We need to get home and start on some food or we will be walking in the dark."
Both August and Luffy grimaced, they didn't want bruises on top of bruises just cause they got side tracked in a conversation. All three gathered their belongings and began the trek back home. "I didn't think there was someone here who could see us from that far away." End gulped but continued to follow the teens.
"Wait! End!" Ash chased after Worlds End but the other wasn't listening, "Gluttony!" That got the other to stop, but it was too late they were already there where the three teens lived.
"Dammit Ash, what do you want now?!" End growled towards him, "You may be my elder brother but seriously you don't act like it sometimes!" Ash just glared at the other, his eyes glowing blue.
"So you two are vampires, that's interesting." Shin snuck up on them while they were getting ready to argue. Shin glanced towards End before looking at Ash, "You're one of my mates it would seem."
"This is where you ran off to Shin, you found them I see." Aug stated a fact.
"I didn't have to find them Aug, they followed us." Shin sighed, "Besides I'll bet they are hungry and we have plenty of meat from that boar." He never mentioned the fact they were vampires. He didn't need to, Aug would know just from sight.
"Are you sure they can eat food like normal people? All indicators point to them not being able to." Aug pointed towards the pair's red eyes.
"Yea, they can eat food." Shin told him positively.
"Shin! Aug! Come on! It's Boar! Time for food!" Luffy yelled out towards the forest not seeing where they were.
"We better get back. Plus I told Lu I'd show him how to cut the meat off the kill properly so we can start preserving it." Shin sighed, turning around to head back and teach Luffy. "If I can teach him how to cook before we leave in a couple years. It'll be worth it. Oh! Right, how big is the ship you two decided on since I'm not allowed to help." Shin sent a sideways look towards Aug still walking towards the cottage.
Aug laughed gently, "He may not show it but Shin is protective of his brother and his mates. Come," Aug led them to the cottage, "It's not much but it's home. This place was abandoned years ago. But there's three bedrooms and a bathroom. With a barrel of water we can use the toilet even though there's no running water in the place. No power either so everything we make is cooked outside and brought in to eat." He led the two vampires towards the bathroom, "Knowing Shin he's going to want you two to clean up before you'll be allowed food."
"Aug! Aug! Shin says we have guests and wants us to pull out the spare linen for them to sleep." Luffy came barreling inside the cottage. He ran towards the bathroom only to see the two guests with red eyes staring back at him. "Your eyes are neat!" Luffy exclaimed pointed towards the red eyes.
"Don't be rude Lu!" Shin scolded his brother. Giving apologetic looks to both Ash and End, "Sorry for my brother. He doesn't really have a filter."
"How mean! I do to have a filter! Did you speak to Ace before he left?!" Luffy accused Shin.
"Ace?" Shin looked at him confused, his head cocked to the side slightly. "Is he one of the ones that did the brotherhood bond with you?"
Luffy hit his fist against his own hand with an ah ha expression, "That's right. I never got around to introducing you to Ace or Sabo." Luffy smiled bitterly, "Sabo was always the smart one, Ace is smart to, just not Sabo smart."
Shin sighed, "I don't think he's dead Lu. Dad was in the vicinity that day." Shin pointed out to his brother. He placed his hand atop Luffy's head and petted him to calm him down. "Come on Lu, foods ready."
"FOOD!" Luffy shouted in excitement, "Meat! Meat! Meat!" Luffy chanted going towards the table to eat.
"Best come and join us. I made ramen for dinner tonight." Shin told the rest in kind before he too left the room to sit down for food.
Aug jolted, "Shin's Ramen?!" He darted out of the bathroom and towards the table. Both vampires just followed at a normal pace being handed bowls by Shin.
