Chapter 9

A/N - Our Roadrunner is finally reunited with his Kolibri!

Wanda and Vision were in the living room of the Avengers Complex when there was an explosion in the distance.

"What is it?" Wanda asked.

"Stay here, please," Vision told her. Vision phased out the window and Wanda felt a presence behind her.

She used her magic to grab a knife and fling it at the intruder.

It stopped right before it impaled Clint Barton in the forehead. He pushed it aside. "Guess I shoulda knocked," he said as the knife dropped to the floor.

"Oh my god! What are you doing here?" Wanda asked him.

"Disappointing my kids." He pulled an arrow out of his quiver and fired two arrows when he saw Vision getting closer. "I'm supposed to go waterskiing. Kid! You wanna see my daughter again!"

Pietro appeared and hugged his girlfriend's father. "Never thought I'd be so happy to see you, old man."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cap needs our help. Come on." Clint grabbed Wanda's wrist and they headed for the door.

Vision phased through the wall. "Clint! You should not be here."

The three of them turned.

"Really? I retire for, what, like five minutes, and it all goes to shit?" Clint commented.

"Please consider the consequences of your actions."

"Can you make him stop talking?" Pietro asked.

"Shut-up Pietro," Wanda snapped.

"Both of you shut-up," Clint said, stopping the squabbling siblings. He turned to Vision. "They're considered." He activated his arrows and trapped Vision. "Okay, we gotta go," Clint told the twins.

Wanda hesitated as Clint and Pietro ran for the exit.

"It's this way," Clint said.

"I've caused enough problems," Wanda told him.

Clint sighed and ran back over to her. "You gotta help me, Wanda. Look, you wanna mope, you can go to high school. You wanna make amends, you get off your ass."

Vision pointed his head to one of Clint's arrows.

"Shit."

Vision blasted the arrow and flew towards Clint. He fired an arrow, but it went through Vision. Vision threw Clint, but Clint managed to roll back onto his feet, a maneuver Pietro had seen Madison copy a thousand times while fighting.

Clint pulled out a baton. "I knew I should've stretched." He rushed at Vision and ended up getting put a chokehold. "Little help here?" Clint asked Pietro.

"Clint, you can't overpower me," Vision told him.

"I know I can't, but she can." Clint knew the kind of power Wanda had because Madison had the exact same power set. If his Baby Bird could do it, Wanda could do it.

Red magic wrapped around Wanda's fingers. "Vision, that's enough. Let him go. I'm leaving."

"I can't let you." Clint slipped out of Vision's hold as Wanda created a power-ball and Pietro rushed to help him up.

"I'm sorry," Wanda told him. Her magic wrapped around Vision's body as he started to be forced to the ground.

"If you do this, they will never stop being afraid of you."

"I can't control their fear, only my own." Her magic shoved Vision through the levels of the compound into the earth.

"Come on. We got one more stop," Clint told the twins.

Steve, Bucky, Sam, and Madison pulled up under a bridge and Steve got out.

Sharon walked towards them and opened the trunk of her car.

"Can you move your seat up?" Bucky asked Sam.

"No."

Madison rolled her eyes. There was way too much testosterone in this car.

Bucky moved over in the seat.

"Oh for gods, sake!" Madison groaned. She crawled over Bucky to sit behind Sam. "There? Happy now?"

"What's your problem?" Bucky asked.

"She's just upset because it's been a week since she's seen her boy-toy."

"He is not my boy-toy, Sam. He's my soul-mate."

The three were so preoccupied with arguing, they missed the kiss between Steve and Sharon. After retrieving Steve's shield and Sam's wings, they headed off for the Berlin airport. They pulled up next to a white van in the parking garage and got out.

"Pietro!"

"Kolibri!"

Madison launched herself in Pietro's arms and kissed him.

Pietro eagerly returned the kiss, holding Madison tightly in his arms.

"Okay, okay. That's enough," her father said.

Madison pulled away from Pietro and hugged her father.

"It's good to see you, Baby Bird."

"You too, daddy."

Clint nodded at Steve. "Cap."

"You know I wouldn't have called if I had any other choice."

"Hey man, you're doing me a favor." Clint looked over at Pietro, who was holding Madison. "Besides, I owe a debt."

"Thanks for having my back," Steve told Wanda.

"It was time to get off my ass."

Steve nodded at Pietro, who nodded back while Madison was snuggled into his chest. "What about our other recruit?" Steve asked.

"He's rarin' to go," Clint said, opening the van, "Had to put a little coffee in him…"

There was a man laying on the seats. He jerked up when the door finished opening.

"He should be good."

The man stepped out. "What time zone is this?"

Clint pushed him towards Steve. The man eagerly shook Steve's hand. "Captain America!"

"Mr. Lang," Steve said.

Lang kept shaking Steve's hand. "It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long. Wow! This is awesome!" Lang's fanboy attitude made Madison think of Peter. He turned to the twins and Madison. "Captain America. I know you, too. You're great! Madison, my daughter's a big fan."

Madison blushed, not expecting little girls to look up to her.

Lang turned back to Steve. "Look, uh, I wanna say… I know you know a lot of super people, so thanks for thinking of me." Lang turned to Sam. "Hey, man!"

"What's up, Tic-Tac?" Sam greeted him.

"Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened the last time when I…"

"It was a great audition, but it'll never happen again."

"They tell you what we're up against?" Steve asked Lang.

"Something about some psycho-assassins?"

"Hey! One of those assassins is my mother!" Madison snapped at him.

"Sorry. I didn't mean any offense."

"We're outside the law on this one," Steve said, "So if you come with us, you're a wanted man."

"Yeah, well, what else is new?"

"We should get moving," Bucky said.

"We got a chopper lined up," Clint told him.

A German voice came over the PA.

"They're evacuating the airport," Bucky translated.

"Stark," Steve said.

"Stark?" Lang asked.

"Suit up."
