"Come on, son," Teba said with his arms crossed, standing in the large open area of the Flight Range as he watched the minuscule white Rito in front of him attempt to pull back the Falcon bow he had in his feathered hands. "One more time. You've done nineteen drawbacks; you only need one more to complete the set."

Tulin, standing on the balcony of the Range just in front of the gusty ravine, growling in stress as he held a bow out in front of him and attempted to pull the bowstring back into a draw. His arms shook as he slowly pulled back, the tension in the bow becoming more intense the more it was tugged on. With a strong intake of breath, Tulin gave one final pull, properly pulling the bowstring back to the side of his beak before releasing. He dropped the bow before falling back, sitting on his feathery rear as he took large breaths, trying to recover from his successful final pull. Teba nodded in satisfaction, walking out onto the wooden platform before bending down and taking the bow in his hands.

"Father, why must I pull that bow back so many times?" the young Rito asked between his breaths. "Shouldn't I be practicing how to aim?"

"Well, Tulin, I could teach you simply how to aim; however," Teba started, looking out towards the depths of the ravine. "I ask you what the point is in knowing how to aim if you can only fire a few arrows. In battle, you'll need to draw your bow back, and keep it pulled back, in order to take down more than only a few enemies."

Tulin sighed as he laid down on his back, his breathing becoming normal once more.

"But this is boring. I want to be able to shoot like Master Revali in the stories! You said he was able to shoot three arrows at one time, and hit all of the targets at once! I want to be able to aim like that!" he said excitedly, raising his wing and putting a fist in the air. Teba sighed as he began to shake his head, however, he couldn't resist the urge to grin at his son's excitement.

"Master Revali was an amazing warrior, whose aim was challenged by none except maybe the Hylian Champion," Teba said, looking back towards his laid out son, "However, not only was Master Revali's aim one of the best, his strength for a Rito was unmatched by any other. No other Rito could use the Great Eagle Bow for it was much too heavy. But Master Revali... he worked hard to become as strong as he did. Not even I can use the bow."

"Not even you, Father?" Tulin asked, sitting up in surprise. Teba shook his head.

"Not even I. That's why the current wielder of that bow is Link. But," he continued. "If you take your training seriously, and you become strong enough to draw it back, maybe you'll be the next owner of the Great Eagle Bow."

"Do you really think I can do it?" Tulin asked, jumping to his talons in the eagerness of his father's answer. Raising an eyebrow, Teba looked down at his son as he hummed, drawing out the suspense before chuckling.

"I think... you should first focus on surpassing your old man," he said simply. "But, it's not impossible."

"Yes, Father!" Tulin said excitedly, jumping up while flapping his wings to give him more air. "I will surpass you, and then Master Revali!"

"Oh will you now?" a snarky voice came from behind them. Both father and son looked over towards the edge of the platform as a Rito landed in front of them. Teba furrowed his eyes in suspicion, watching as the visitor dusted off his feathers. The Rito seemed to be giving off a pale green aura, with little balls of flames dancing at his feet.

"I've never seen you in the village before," Teba said in almost a warning tone as the visitor stepped forward, placing his wings behind his back. "Is there something I can do for you?"

"Please," the Rito said in an unwavering tone. "I'd rather not be threatened in my own Flight range."

Teba stared at the visitor, carefully inspecting him as he came to a stop. After a second of processing, without taking his eyes away from the intruder's green eyes, he called out to his son. "Tulin, head into the Flight Range. You may come back out when I call for you."

"But Father-" Tulin began to argue, wanting to greet this interesting visitor, however, Teba cut him off.

"Do as I say, son," Teba said in a calm, but stern tone. He turned to Tulin, getting down on one knee before holding out the bow to him. "If you've had enough rest, continue your drawbacks. Alright?"

"Yes, Father," Tulin said, trying to keep the disappointment in his tone as unnoticeable as possible. He took the bow from his father's hand before running back into the interior of the Flight Range. As soon as his son was safely inside, Teba turned back towards the visitor.

"This may be crazy for me to ask," he said, his tone already full of disbelief. "But… you couldn't possibly be Master Revali…?"

"Hm, the one and only," Revali said, holding his beak high. "However, as much as I would like to indulge you, I haven't exactly much time."

"I guess I'll have to set my questions aside for now then," Teba said, still in slight disbelief. "To what do I owe the pleasure of having the Rito Champion in my midst?"

Revali sighed as he turned, walking towards the edge of the platform once more.

"Ever since that… ever since, Link… was able to free my spirit from Vah Medoh, I've been keeping watch over our home," he said as he overlooked the platform and out towards the targets that scattered the walls of the ravine. "However, I did also witness the battle between yourself, your friend, and Vah Medoh…"

Teba closed his eyes and lowered his head in disappointment.

"I'm sorry you had to see our futile efforts. Honestly, we didn't stand a chance against Medoh on our own," he said in a low voice. "If it weren't for Link's assistance, we wouldn't have been able to succeed."

"And it's for that reason… I believe Rito Village is in good hands," Revali said calmly. Teba looked up with open eyes in surprise. Revali glanced back, catching the questioning eyes of Teba. With a sigh, he continued. "I'm not sure if it would have made any difference, however, I have to admit. Asking for assistance and taking the chance to learn, instead of… well, being stubborn is the way you succeed. Maybe if I had… practiced a bit with that little knight a hundred years ago, maybe I would have put up more of a fight against Calamity Ganon. You did what I could not, and succeeded in bringing Vah Medoh back to its rightful owner."

"Master Revali…" Teba uttered in surprise at his words. "I-"

"However!" Revali continued, quickly turning around to face his kin. "It's not acceptable that the Hylian Knight is the only one at the moment who can use the Great Eagle Bow! I expect that with enough hard work either you," he took a quick glance behind Teba at the little Rito practicing in the hut behind them. "Or another rightful Rito will claim the title of the best archer in the land."

Teba sat, completely stunned at the champion's words. However, after taking in the sharp glare Revali had thrown him, he grinned with a small chuckle.

"As you wish," Teba answered. "I will ensure that I or my son will claim the title once more."

"Well, I believe that's one less thing I need to-" Revali began, however, a piercing scream had come from the hut, interrupting his sentence. The two Rito quickly looked back behind them, seeing Tulin on the floor of the hut, backing up as he looked up at something unclear from where they stood.

"Tulin!" Teba shouted, rushing inside with Revali following closely after. Quickly took a glance at his son before stepping in front of him, looking around for the intruder. After quickly inspecting that no one was around, he turned back around before crouching down in front of his son. "Tulin? What happened, son? Are you okay?"

"A… A… A man…" Tulin stuttered, shaking in fear as he remained sitting on the floor, his back now pressed against the wall. "H-He came in a-and… a-and demanded t-that I… That I give him m-my b-bow…"

"A man?" Revali asked darkly, squinting his sharp eyes as he stood over the kid and his crouching father. "Did he have a mask?"

"A mask?" Teba asked. Revali nodded before turning his attention towards Tulin once more.

"Well?" he asked again. Tulin shakily shook his head.

"Y-Yes," the young Rito answered. "A-A white one with a scary eye and a crack in it…"

"A mask with an eye?" Teba repeated curiously. "That sounds like a Yiga, but in these parts?"

"It seems the princess wasn't able to finish the job," Revali said, turning his back to the two as he began heading out towards the platform once more.

"Wait! Let me come with you Master Revali!" Teba said, standing in order to follow the champion out into the snow, however, Revali turned and shook his head.

"Stay here and look after your son," he said. "The Yiga isn't after you or Rito Village, however, there is something I must confirm before I pass on. You take care of your son, and then I need you to go check on Link and the princess."

Teba stood in place as if wondering if he should argue against Revali's orders, however, with a nod he crouched once more to attend to his son.

"Good luck, Master Revali," Teba said. "And I promise you… Rito Village will be safe under my protection. I shall guarantee that with my life."

"Hm," Revali grunted before opening his wings. "You'd better."

With a leap and a flap of his wings, Revali soared into the air, leaving the Rito Warrior and his son alone in the Flight Range.

...

The Yiga stepped through the deep snow, shivering through the heavy blizzard as he trudged on. His shoulder was red from the injury the knight had given him earlier. Blood traveled from his shoulder down to his arm, dripping off his knuckles and fingers that tightly clenched a Falcon bow he had stolen only minutes prior. His breaths were visible from the cold, puffing through the sides and the newly formed cracks of his mask. He growled to himself as he continued forward, only stopping when a greenish glow flew above and landed in the snow in front of him.

"I see you've had a few of your feathers ruffled," the Rito visitor said in a menacing tone. "Tell me; what did you do to the princess and the knight?"

The Yiga didn't answer. He simply stared down Revali with his breaths heavy, refusing to look away from the deadly glare. The two stared each other down before Revali sighed, turning his beak to look out towards Rito Village.

"I'll take it from your silence, and your mask, that they were able to at least deal with you somewhat," he said, looking back at the Yiga. "I'd take a wild guess that she let you go with that kind heart of hers."

The Yiga growled, confirming his suspicions.

"Hm," Revali answered in response to the growl. "Well then, let me give you a fair warning. Whether it be she stopped the knight from killing you, or you got away from them both, I hope you heed this. Leave those two alone. If you decide to throw my warning to these cold winds then I promise you: That knight won't let you escape again."

The ghost burst into green particles, blowing away into nothingness in the blizzard winds. The Yiga stared at where the Rito had disappeared. He clenched his bloody fist before raising the bow into the air, throwing it down deep into the snow before coughing and falling to his knees.

"Damn Hylian Champion… Damn Descendant of Hylia…" the Yiga muttered as blood spilled from his shoulder, staining the pure white snow beneath him. "I'll kill them both. I swear it… I will see their deaths… Their blood… will be on my very hands."
