Harry was a man in his early twenties, he had black short, messy hair, green eyes, wore a pair of black, round glasses and a had a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead. He was of average height and was of an slender but athletic sort of build. He was not a normal man as he was a wizard and had been recruited onto the crew of the spaceship named the Unreliable when he had been found in a place called Emerald Vale, having been magically transported to the planet from a spell that had struck him while working as an Auror.
He hadn't been with the crew of the Unreliable for very long, probably only maybe a couple of months and already the spaceship felt like home to him. He went on adventures, he had new friends who had accepted him and though he was sure that he would never return back to his home planet and time he was happy.
On the spaceship he had met a man who he had taken a liking to, the man wasn't an intelligent man but he was decent and quite easy on the eyes. The man was close to Harry's age, just a couple of years older than him. He was close to Harry's height, he had short brown hair, warm brown eyes and really liked the sport called Tossball. His name was Felix Millstone and at some point during their adventures together Harry had developed some romantic feelings towards him.
They would talk often of sports, discuss the adventures they had been on together and sometimes they would drink. Sometimes when they would spend time together Harry would awkwardly flirt with the other man though Felix always seemed like he was oblivious to his attempts at flirtation.
One night when Harry was having drinks with The Captain the man told Harry he should ask out Felix.
"I don't know, what would I say to him?" muttered Harry as he took a sip of a beer.
The Captain gave a shrug of his shoulders, "Dunno, but you have to be direct. Don't be vague about it"
"Be direct?"
The Captain nodded. "Yeah, say exactly what you feel for him"
The two men were silent for a few moments as they drank together in the Captain's quarters until the Captain spoke again.
"Why don't you and Felix take tomorrow off? Spend some time with him tomorrow, talk, maybe have a few drinks together and confess in a way that he won't misunderstand. And if he is still oblivious after you have confessed to him you could try giving him a kiss or something"
"I'll try…thanks Captain," said Harry.
Harry and the captain drank a bit more together before Harry returned to his own room.
The next night onboard the Unreliable Harry did what The Captain suggested to him and invited Felix to share a few drinks with him.
"Sure Harry!" said Felix with a smile on his face before walking with his fellow crew member to Harry's room.
Harry felt nervous as he offered Felix a drink and opened a drink for himself.
"You seem nervous Harry" Felix said as he took a sip of his drink.
Harry gave a nod, "Yeah, I guess" he muttered.
"Why? It's just us in here"
Harry was quiet for a bit before speaking, "Um…Yeah, there's been something I wanted to tell you"
Felix stared at Harry, "Yeah? What is it?" he asked.
Harry was quiet again, now not sure if he could go ahead with his confession. He watched as his friend took another sip of drink.
"I…I..I..Um..." Harry said before giving a sigh. Harry suddenly decided that he couldn't do this, instead he just said "Um…I…I..You have nice eyes Felix"
Felix smiled at him, "Thanks, I like your eyes too Harry. I think they're very pretty" he said.
Harry blushed, a smile appeared on his face.
"Thanks" he muttered.
Felix then started talking about Tossball and as Harry listened in silence Harry heard a familiar sounding voice curse, Harry recognized it belonging to The Captain. The Captain sounded disappointed, Harry started to feel bad for not following through with the Captain's advice but the guilty feeling quickly changed to panic and slight anger when the door to his room suddenly shut.
Harry got to his feet and checked the door only to find that it was now locked tight.
Harry supposed he could just unlock it with magic but the muggle technology and his magic just didn't mix. He didn't want to give their mechanic Parvati something new to fix if he accidentally broke the door somehow.
He then heard a voice yell at the shut and locked door.
"You're not coming out of there until you confess to Felix!" Harry heard The Captain yell.
Harry blushed and he felt a bit angry that The Captain was doing this, though he also knew that the man was only trying to help.
Harry felt panicked as he heard the sound of the Captain's footsteps going away from the room that he and Felix were now locked in.
"Wait Captain! Come back and unlock this door!" he yelled Harry but the footsteps of their boss was now fading away.
Harry swore under his breath and tried to remain calm as he then turned back to Felix, Felix was still sitting where he had been sitting before, still clutching onto an alcoholic drink.
Felix was staring at Harry, "Confess what?" he asked. His surprise at what he had heard apparently overriding any shock of being locked in a room with his friend.
Harry was blushing, and directed his attention upon his Tossball loving friend.
As he stared properly at Felix he saw that Felix was looking back at him with a serious and curious look in his brown eyes.
"Is it something important?"
Harry gave a slight nod, "Yeah, um…it kinda is"
"Tell me then. Whatever it is I'll still be your friend"
"It's not bad at all, it's something good"
Felix smiled again. He was then quiet and just waited for Harry to speak.
"Um…Okay" murmured Harry before doing his best to calm his nerves. "I…I…I like you Felix"
Felix's smile broadened.
"I like you too, you're a great guy Harry"
Harry felt a twinge of frustration, "No, that's not what I mean" he said.
"What do you mean then?" asked Felix, frowning.
"I…I mean..I mean I like you..in a…In a romantic sort of way" Harry said before blushing. "I mean while I have been travelling with you and the others on the Unreliable, I have developed actual romantic feelings towards you and…and if you feel even the slightest bit of romantic feelings for me in return I want to go on a date with you" Harry said, his face now blushing crimson.
There was short moment of silence between the two men, Felix was now blushing too and Harry saw that he was smiling at Harry as well.
As Felix was staring back at Harry, he gave a nod and as the man was staring back at Harry, he was sure that there was relief and happiness showing in those brown eyes.
"I feel the same" Felix said. "And I want to go on a date with you too!"
A happy feeling washed through his insides.
"Really Felix?" Harry asked, smiling.
Felix gave a happy nod.
Harry's smile broadened and he couldn't help but wonder to himself just what kind of date he could have with his crew mate.
They were then silent again until Felix spoke breaking the quiet and awkward moment between them.
"So, what do we do now? We're still locked in this room," said Felix. "Oh! Maybe we're supposed to kiss! Maybe it's like one of those romance shows where we can only leave once we do."
Harry blushed, he smiled a nervous smile at the other man. "This isn't some aetherwave romance show Felix" he said, but he gave a sigh as he realized that was what they would have to do to have the door unlocked for them sometime soon. Though, the Captain was sure to unlock it eventually, whether they had confessed and kissed or not.
Harry saw that Felix was actually smiling and looked happy about this and in a way, Harry was happy at the thought of kissing Felix as well, the thought of doing so just made him feel incredibly nervous.
The wizard thought to just check to see if that was the case though as this wasn't the ideal situation he had wanted for his first ever kiss with Felix Millstone.
"ADA!" he called out, speaking to the spaceship's AI system. "Will you let us out now please or do we have to kiss first?"
The monotone voice of the Unreliable's AI suddenly answered to his call.
"Harry, Captain Hawthorne has instructed me to not unlock your room unless you confess how you feel romantically for Felix and kiss him"
"Um…Right, thank you. Um…Do you think you could just unlock it for us anyway?"
However, ADA just simply repeated herself, causing Harry to give a sigh of frustration.
Harry turned his attention back to Felix who was blushing.
"Well, let's kiss then" Harry said. "Sorry, this isn't really the ideal circumstances to share our first kiss though."
"That's okay! I've wanted to kiss you for a while anyway Harry."
Harry was actually surprised at this, "You have?"
Felix nodded. "Yep!" said the man. "I just didn't think you felt the same so I just tried to hide how I felt for you"
"So, let's do this then"
Felix was smiling then as he stood up and approached closer to a blushing Harry. Felix then placed his hands a bit nervously upon Harry's shoulders, grasping them gently before capturing Harry's lips in a kiss.
The wizard grabbed at the front of Felix's shirt, grasping the material in his hands as he returned the kiss and pulled the other male even closer to him.
The kiss was awkward and gentle but it was nice and enjoyable, and there was a sort of tenderness to it. After several moments the kissing was deepened and the kissing became slightly more heated.
Sometime during their kissing session the door unlocked and opened, but neither man cared anymore and just continued to kiss the other.
A couple of days later the two men were given another day off and had their first date together.
