The Quartet was on another quest to help train while the Technology Expo was drawing nearer. They split up to have a competition for the most monsters killed. When Compa watched them speed off. She realised how much of a gap she needed to close.

Netherrealm and IF trained since they were quite young. Neptune is a warrior goddess with amazing natural skill. That natural skill has only been honed through training. Compa is slow and heals. She needs everyone there for her. She doesn't to drag everyone down further. Like she has already.

Compa drove her giant needle into the Exhausted Jelly. It dissapeared into pixels and Compa nodded with satisfaction. She made her needle disappear into her inventory. She looked at her hands and clenched her fists. She felt useless due to her party being more skilled than her.

Like Neptune she couldn't remember her past. Really only distorted and fractured memories. Everything only becomes clear when she moved in with her grandfather. Compa wants to remember, but something is blocking her from remembering. So she puts up her facade of constant happiness. Not that it is fully fake, far from it. It's more of an establishment of her true mental state.

As an aspiring nurse, she smiles and acts kind for her future patients. To help keep them at ease. She craves to help, to be useful. She wants to help CPU Purple Heart, who was revealed to be one of her closest friends. She wants to help more in battle. She wants to help Netherrealm and IF through their painful lives.

She isn't stupid or naive. Compa knows IF and Netherrealm are suffering. Yet they're so kind to someone as useless as her. Netherrealm even fell in love with her. Compa saw the signs and figured it out herself. She wants to confess her own feelings. Yet she knows Netherrealm has to work through her own issues, and she has to work through hers.

She heard growling from above her. A Flame Fenrir jumped from the rocks. Ready to tear Compa's flesh to the bone. Compa rolled out of the way. She whimpered in fear, her party no where in sight. "P-Please Mr. Monster, I taste bad! Go away!" Compa exclaimed. She doesn't have her party. Compa only found the strength to try and escape Skoll-Hati because they were all there.

The Flame Fenrir didn't listen and it lunged at Compa again. She screamed and held up her arms. She felt the claws tear through her sleeves and warm blood being exposed to cold air. The red ichor of life dripped down her arm. Compa stared at the blood in a trance. The Flame Fenrir attacked again.

It rammed its head into Compa's stomach, sending her to the floor. It began to bite at her arm. Trying to tear it off her. She teared up but didn't resist. There's no point, she was never cut out for this.

Tears pricked at her eyes as everyone flashed through her mind. Neptune, IF, Netherrealm and her Grandpa. She remembered when she doubted herself. Her Grandpa was there for her.

A thirteen year old Compa was sitting on her bed, crying. Her bedroom door opened and a man walked in. He has a large gut with a belt and large buckle, like a championship belt. Sandals with dirty grey wrappings over his stiched together burlap pants and leather strips. A brown jacket with gold trim over a dirty beige shirt. He has dirty grey wrappings over his hands.

His black hair is pulled back into a high ponytail. He has a large beard and moustache. Wrinkles dotted his face, and his hardened brown eyes looked into Compa's watery orange eyes. "What's wrong?" He asked, his voice deep and loud. Yet there was a jovial slur to it.

"Whenever I'm picked for a team in gym. My team always loses. When we win, it's when I don't play," Compa explained with a sniffle. Grandpa shook his head with a scoff. "Don't be an idiot! You're the strongest girl in your class. Fuck the strongest kid in your school!" Grandpa said.

"Then why do we always lose?" Compa asked and Grandpa's meaty finger flicked Compa's forehead. "Because you never try. When you lose, get back and try. I thought about losing weight once, but I don't like losing," Grandpa advised. Compa looked at him and nodded. She has to keep trying. Because her Grandpa would always try again until he succeeded.

The Flame Fenrir's jaw came down to her face. Compa caught its jaw, holding it open. Her eyes had a distinctive fire in them. She was determined to live, for her friends, Grandpa and the man she fell in love with. Her arms were not struggling. She pushed the monster off of her. It flew in the air for a second and landed in a crater.

She won't give up! She survived something her Mommy did to her. She has to live to figure out what. She has to live to help Neptune, IF and Netherrealm. She is a nurse-in-training, someone desires who help a patient. Compa didn't take out her needle. It's been her shield, her crutch. She needs to do this on her own without the help of anything.

The Flame Fenrir got to its feet and howled. Two more jumped from above her, landing near her sides. Three, one in front and two on either side of her. Compa rolled out the way of a slash. She got into a basic boxing stance.

She gave one Flame Fenrir a haymaker to the snout. A pink trail of magic following her strike. Compa picked up the second one, throwing it behind her. It landed on its friend. Compa charged at the third one. Pink afterimages followed her movements. Her shoulder crashed into it.

Compa skidded to a stop and grabbed the thing. She threw it over her and it was slammed on its back. Compa gathered energy and ran toward to a Fenrir while spinning with her arms outstretched. Her fists drove itself into the side of it.

Then Compa folded her fingers and slammed it on a Flame Fenrir. It bounced on the rock. Compa grabbed it by the hind leg. Then tossed it into the air. As it fell, Compa swung her fist like a baseball bat into it's back. It whined and fell to the ground. Compa jumped into the air and the Flame Fenrir was finished with an elbow drop.

Two more were still left. Compa got back into the sloppy boxer stance. She ran at one of them and grabbed one by the scruff. She held it over her head and threw it off the canyon and into the abyss below. She then kicked the snout of the last one. Flipping it onto its back. Compa squatted down and grabbed its hind legs with both arms. She spun and threw it at a wall of rock. It was buried alive under rubble.

Compa fell to her knees in exhaustion. She smiled as a small needle appeared in her hand. She injected it into her neck and it hissed as it was drained into her body. The concoction worked as Compa felt her stamima come back to her. She shakily stood up, her body sore from what she did.

While she is strong and has been in life or death situations before. Compa hasn't explored that bruiser type style until now. Her body wasn't conditioned for it. 'Useful? Yeah, I will be,' Compa swore to herself. A Dogoo flew past her head and Neptune came running around a corner. Her clothes covered in jelly.

"What's wrong Nep-Nep?" Compa asked. "Well I kinda messed with a nest and a hoarde of Dogoos came out! So Netty and Iffy are leading them to the cliff. We need your help throwing them off," Neptune explained. Compa jogged behind Neptune with a serene smile.

The Quartet entered Passe with their clothes coated in slime. "Abso-fucking-lutely disgusting creatures," Netherrealm growled, brushing off a glob on his shoulder pad. "Well, who got the most kills?" Netherrealm asked.

"I got fifteen," IF answered tiredly, plopping down on a couch. Neptune sat right next to her. "I got ten," Compa said after counting on her fingers. "Nineteen," Netherrealm said arrogantly with a laugh. "You suck!" Netherrealm exclaimed, point at IF. She threw a cushion at his face in response. "I got twenty five!" Neptune proclaimed with a smug expression.

"So who sucks again?" IF asked and Netherrealm glared at her. "Not... another... word..." He growled out, his ego bruised. IF snickered and Netherrealm sat at the bar. "Ugh, could you all wash off before entering?" Noire asked, entering Passe.

"Lighten up Lady Noire. As long as they aren't getting monster stuff in the back. It's fine," Chian said and Neptune stuck her tongue at Noire. "Where the hell were you at?" Netherrealm asked. "I was doing some quests and being productive. Unlike you lazy good for nothings," Noire answered haughtily, flipping her hair.

"Uhh, we were also doing quests?" IF commented, confused at Noire's bitchiness. "Apparently No-No wants to be forever alone," Compa said and Netherrealm choked on his drink. "Yeah, didn't you say that you wanna be friends Loner?" Neptune asked smugly.

"I-.. that doesn't mean-... Ugh! You all are so immature!" Noire cried. "How many kills did you get?" Netherrealm asked and Noire asked what he meant. "We were doing a competition while questing. Who got the most monster kills. The quota for completing a quest doesn't count. Only monsters we fought outside of a quest counted," IF explained and Noire crossed her arms with a scoff.

"If you must know, I killed twenty," Noire said and The Quartet glanced at eachother. "Whooohoo! Twenty five baby!" Neptune exclaimed in happiness that she is still the winner. "What?! No! That's not fair! I wasn't there for this competition before! I demand a rematch!" Noire cried indignantly.

"Uhhh, we just finished questing for the day. No rematches, and besides you weren't even part of the competition anyway," IF rebuttled with facts and logic. "Like the author said, you can't compete with facts and logic," Neptune said. "Don't get meta Neptune!" Netherrealm shouted. "I haven't broken the fourth wall in a while Netty!" Neptune whined.

"Ignoring that, fine, from now on you'll be taking me on every quest you go on! I refuse to play second fiddle to Neptune or anyone else! Got it memorized?" Noire demanded and Neptune hopped to her feet. She held out her hand and Noire shook it. "Welcome aboard Noire, now we can find you some friends," Neptune teased. "I already regret this," Noire sighed.

!Noire has joined the party!

"Now we have to change our party name from The Quartet to The Quintet," Neptune said. "We should come up with an official name for our party, I think we should be The Cross Edges," IF suggested. "Cool name Iffy, but that's kinda middle schoolish," Neptune kindly shot down the idea and IF crossed her arms, grumbling.

"What's a Cross Hedge?" Compa asked Netherrealm, mishearing IF. "I don't know...?" Netherrealm shrugged, also not knowing. "I got it! We'll be known as Crash 40!" Neptune exclaimed. "What? No! That's dumb, you're dumb," Netherrealm spoke up.

"We'll be the Forces of Light!" Netherrealm suggested. "It fits, but it doesn't roll off the tongue," IF said, stroking her chin. "We'll be the Mary Skelters!" Compa chirped. Neptune raised her hand like she's a kid in class. "What's a Helter Skelter?" she asked. "I have no idea~" Compa sang.

"Fine! Since you losers can't decide. I'll come up with something better!" Noire declared. "Call me a loser again! I dare you, you black-hearted bitch!" Netherrealm exclaimed. "Why don't you go suck on a railroad spike!" Noire snapped back. "Guys, be quiet!" Compa yelled, breaking up the rising arguement.

"Ahem, my suggestion is Multi-Plaformers," Noire said with a smirk. The rest of the party looked at eachother. Neptune gave an enthusiastic thumbs up. Compa nodded with a sweet, closed eyed smile. She bumped Netherrealm's arm with her elbow. "Fine..." he groaned, swallowing his pride once again. "Alright! Now we're gonna have stories spread about our awesome adventures!" IF exclaimed with sparkling eyes.

"Wow Iffy, you're acting strangely childish," Neptune pointed out. "Pudding calling the cake a dessert much?" IF asked, crossing her arms. "Gah! Pudding! We've been going through so much character development I forgot how good Pudding was! I am a sham of a Main Heroine!" Neptune cried.

"Ms. Chi-Chi? Do you have a kitchen?" Compa asked Chian. "Help yourself," Chian pointed to the side with her thumb. "Let's go buy baking supplies Sugar Ninja Daddy!" Neptune said like the nation is falling apart. She dragged a yelling Netherrealm out of Passe.

Nisa came in to be nearly pushed over by Neptune and Netherrealm. "What's got those two worked up?" Nisa asked. "They're off to make a pudding ingredients run," Chian replied. "Do you want me to make you some pudding Nissy?" Compa asked. "Justice never starves or sleeps!" Nisa declared. Until her stomach rumbled. So perhaps justice can have a little snack.

!Bond Levels Increased!

Noire: 1-2

Netherrealm's phone suddenly rang. He looked and saw an unidentified number. He accepted the call. "Yeah? This is Netherrealm," he greeted curtly. "Zero," a voice answered. "What the fuck do you want and how did you get my number?" Netherrealm asked with a bit of a growl. Still bitter over his previous loss.

"I'd think it would be safe to say the two of us are buddies now. I'll cut to the chase, are you an electricity user? Because it didn't look like it." Zero asked. Netherrealm narrowed his eyes and answered that he isn't. "Can you explain that abnormally colored spark that came from your hand after you experienced my abilities for the first time? I'd assume not, but regardless it looks like you've got potential. Wanna learn how to use it?" Zero offered.

"Quick question, what do you get out of this?" Netherrealm asked cautiously with a threatening undertone. "Nothing better to do. Curious about this black electricity of yours. So what do ya say?" Zero replied and Netherrealm, also curious as to this supposed new power of his, accepted the offer.

Netherrealm was told to meet Zero at an abandoned Avenir factory in the canyons. When he entered, he saw Zero sitting on a metal barrel with a can of beer. "So, you ready?" Zero asked and Netherrealm glared at Zero. "Not yet, fight me, right here. I'll beat you without that electricity power you think I have," Netherrealm challenged.

Zero chuckled and shrugged. "Alright buddy, good luck," Zero warned, amused. Netherrealm got into a stance.

Zero dropped into a partial squat, thrusting his hands toward the floor. Suddenly every broken machine, tool, or random piece of scrap metal launched into the air, hovering five meters off the ground. Netherrealm's stance softened and he sighed, "Fuck."

Back at Passe, Netherrealm limped in. Bruises and cuts all over, even a few small burns. Neptune opened her mouth to ask what happened. "Don't you fucking ask!" Netherrealm exclaimed. IF snickered and realized what happened.

"Netty flew too close to the sun and got burned, badly," IF said to Neptune. Who, along with IF, began to laugh at Netherrealm's expense, Neptune adding, "No way being at an old factory wasn't intentional! He was ready to kick your ass!" Compa patted his shoulder to try and comfort him. Everyone else in Passe got some level of entertainment out of this. Netherrealm's phone suddenly rang.

"So, you learned your lesson? Ready to get started for real?" Zero asked. Netherrealm sighed, uttering a weak yes. "Aight I'll see you tomorrow." Zero hung up. Netherrealm looked at his hand. He has to get stronger, he can't be weak. Not again, he's not a weak little boy anymore.

"Wait, how the fuck did he get my number?" Netherrealm asked himself.

The next day at the abandoned factory. Netherrealm once again had no armor or weapons on his person. Just his black shirt, pants and tabi boots. He was shadow boxing to get himself ready for the training. The factory door opened and Zero walked in casually.

"You're here early," Zero commented. Netherrealm turned and stared Zero in the eye. Netherrealm got into a stance and narrowed his eyes. Zero burst out laughing at Netherrealm. "Mr. Edgy didn't learn his lesson? Alright then," Zero snickered and got into a partial crouch.

Electricity sparked off Zero and Netherrealm paid close attention. Every bit of scrap metal floated in the air and once again, overwhelmed Netherrealm. Who fell on his back. Zero rolled his eyes in frustration, but something was different about that challenge. He couldn't figure out why and that bothered him.

Netherrealm got up and began to pace while muttering. His eyes closed tight as he thought about what he saw Zero do. "What the hell is with this guy?" Zero wondered aloud. All of a sudden, Netherrealm's eyes snapped open. "Holy shit!" Netherrealm exclaimed as he had a revelation.

His phone dropped from a small dark portal above his hand. Netherrealm caught it and began to search through his apps. He opened the NepNotes app and began to type. His fingers moving at a ludicrous speed. His eyes moved back and forth just as quickly as he typed out text. Then with a dramatic press, he clicked save and his revelation formed.

Black lightning sparked around Netherrealm as he palm struck the air and kicked. He disappeared and reappeared in a flash. Then he shot across the area, fists in front of him as his fists collided with an 'opponent'. Netherrealm grabbed an 'opponent' by the neck and shoulder. Hoisting them up while electrocuting them.

Netherrealm was back in reality. He looked at his hands and black lightning sparked between his fingers. He got into a different stance and made the come at me gesture. Zero raised a brow upward and sent more scrap metal at Netherrealm to humor his challenge. Zero expected Netherrealm to be overwhelmed by the scrap metal a third time.

Instead, Netherrealm tilted his body and began weaving around some projectiles. Then he smacked a piece of scrap metal away. Charging that bit of scrap metal and it began to ricochet into other pieces of scrap metal. Netherrealm shot forward like a bullet in a Superman pose, yelling something intangible. His fists impacted Zero's face.

Zero rolled across the floor in shock at what just happened. "No one can learn that quickly, and just by seeing it," Zero muttered in bewilderment. Netherrealm planted his knee on Zero's stomach and held his sparking fist above Zero's face.

'This guy is a monster,' Zero said in his mind at Netherrealm's almost instant mastery of lightning.

!Teach Me Histy!

(Lightning God Style)

Netherrealm has unlocked the Lightning God Style by taking inspiration from an ally. There is one more unlockable style. Evade enemies and counterattack. Attacks have a chance to inflict paralysis.

AGI, MEN and LUK dramatically increase while VIT and STR decrease slightly.

Compa's grandpa looks like Bo Rai Cho.

I based Compa's hand to hand style off of Awano's from Yakuza 0.

For the team names, Mary Skelter is an obvious reference to another CH/IF series. Forces of Light is the name of the good aligned warriors in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Crash 40, is a reference to Crush 40, the band behind Sonic's most iconic tunes. Such as His World, Live and Learn, etc.

For Netherrealm, if I could choose VAs for him. His Japanese one would be Kazuhiro Nakaya(Akira Nishikiyama). While his English VA would be Paul Dobson(Enzo Matrix)
