Hello everyone and welcome back. I hope you all enjoyed the last chapter of Tatsumi's perspective.

Now here is Esdeath's perspective in the invasion of Nova Scotia

M for gore and language

March 31, 1963

Northern Canada

Sydney, Nova Scotia

After hours of bombardment from the Kriegsmarine. Esdeath lands on the northern island of Nova Scotia. One of the very few islands that weren't reinforced in time against the German invasion.

As she stepped on Canadian soil, she looked around seeing nearby towns and cities on the island in flames. In front of her are several townspeople who decided to stay, mostly partisan. She approaches the group with grace and looks at them.

"This town is free now under the Third Reich. You are no longer subjects to your weak crown or have to listen to those American dogs. This is a time to celebrate." Esdeath said to the townsfolk. The population stayed silent. She did not receive any answer. Her troops began to feel unnerved at these people's silence. Esdeath frowned at their silence.

"What's wrong? You should be grateful that I let you live. Be grateful that you are free now." A man in his mid-forties got up and walked towards the general. Several of her troops aimed at the man but she gestured them to lower their arms. He looked at her directly at the eyes. He was wearing the traditional catholic priest clothing of a black cassock and a white-collar. She looked at him dead at the eyes raising an eyebrow. "And who may you be?" She asks of him.

"You and your people came from a faraway land. A land that was once freed but now under brutal subjugation. You fear nothing because you call yourself a god. But here, you will lose all. For we are the land of the free people." The catholic priest tells Esdeath. The air became colder the more he spoke. "You claim to fight for freedom and justice. When in reality you don't even know what freedom or justice is. You only dominate. People who do the most harm against others only do it because they're weak themselves. You are afraid to admit it. It's a void that you will never fill. You keep following this path of death and destruction, then you may soon lose the ones you love. Then I must say this, may God have mercy, and may you find Christ in your heart." The priest told Esdeath off.

She gave a small chuckle. "I see you're a courageous one, father. But I don't need God or Christ. As I am god of this world now. I'm nothing like those weak people that you people worship. Seriously, why would an "all-powerful "God" make himself weak. Just to die on a cross when he could've easily smited all and force all to tremble and fear him?" Esdeath begins to mock the priest's beliefs. "Now then, would you like a demonstration of my "godly" power?" Esdeath looked at her men. Esdeath called up ice spears from the ground impaling several of the civilians.

"Captain." Esdeath calls out. "Do we have any wooden beams?"
"Yes, madam." The captain responds.

"Good. Crucify him and six others here. Everyone else, shoot them dead. Leave no soul here alive. I'd like to leave a message." Esdeath ordered.

The captain hesitated for a bit at this order. He knew it was immoral but an order that must be done if you're in her army. But he saluted her and carried out the order, nonetheless. "It will be done, general." The captain gulped.

"Also, leave some men here to guard this town. Message to the high command that the landing is successful and without any interruptions. Sergeant, with me."

"Yes, general." The sergeant stated. She left the town heading out to set up a forward operations base. She thought back to the words of the catholic priest. "I'm not weak. I'm strong. Stronger than that God of his. If he likes to follow him, then I might as well have him die like his God, crucified to a cross." Esdeath states to herself. She felt her chauffer eyes glance. "Focus on the road dammit."

"Yes, general."

Midnight

Many bridges and parts of the main road were destroyed by the retreating Nova Scotia forces. It's expected that it may take 1-3 days, a week at most, for the US and Canadian armies to arrive. The time that they don't have when dealing with Esdeath.

After two days of surveying. Most of the roads and bridges were destroyed by retreating Nova Scotian citizens or the military. Then, rain began to set in. This hampered a lot of progress as Esdeath's forces only made just made it onto the main part of Nova Scotia that connects to the rest of the continent. Esdeath still was stationed on Cape Breton Island awaiting for any news from her teams that she sent forward to get onto the mainland. A private enters back into Esdeath's camp, tired and panting.

"General!" The private called out. He was dripping wet because of the rain. Esdeath approached the private and asked him. "What happened private?" She asks. "The reconnaissance teams that you sent out. They're on the radio." Esdeath approaches the radio and grabs hold of the two-way communicator. "First recon. Are you there?" She asks. "First recon. Are you there? Answer me!" Esdeath asks again.

"Ja. I can hear you." A member of the first recon team picks up. Gunfire and slices can be heard in the background.

"Answer me what's happening over there?" Esdeath asks.

"It's a disaster. We are currently in combat with enemy forces. We can't pull out and we're dropping like flies out here. I can't see who. But it appears to be one person or something, carrying something giant. It's almost bullet proof." The soldier says.

"I'm giving you the order to pull back and join back with the main force. We will attack on the break of dawn." Esdeath ordered.

"No can do. We are basically sitting ducks. Wait, what is that, why aren't you dead you pur-? Oh God, NO!" The feed cuts off.

"First recon. Do you copy? First recon?" Esdeath throws down the communicator in anger. "Gahh, what is happening?" Esdeath yells in anger and frustration. Her men looked at her all worriedly like. "What are you all looking at get back to work." Her men turned around and looked away from her continuing their work.

Early afternoon.

After a few hours of waiting. Esdeath took her first steps onto the mainland North American continent, by freezing a bridge in place that allowed her and her troops to cross. But instead of being greeted by enemies, she was only greeted by silence. To a person like her, it wasn't expected but expected, nonetheless. She doesn't sense any enemy presence at all. Perhaps it may be a trap? Nonetheless, she ordered her troops to march forward to their next objective, New Glasgow.

Late twilight.

New Glasgow

Her troops were exhausted from the march. Never mind the fact that the road they went through is destroyed, they didn't have tanks or vehicles to use as they only came in when the whole territory is taken and secured. What's worse is that the city is completely abandoned.

Night

Tension grew within the ranks. Though many of her soldiers are hardened soldiers, they can't shake the feeling of unease. Then a shriek cries out. It sounded like the mixture between an elk and a bear. "Everyone get ready and form a defense perimeter."

Esdeath shouted ordering her men. Then more shrieking cries. Many of these men heard of American and Canadian monsters but they're only folklore, or are they? They thought. This continued for another five minutes, driving some to fear a bit. Then the sound stopped. Many are relieved that the sound stopped, but then a whistling sound. Artillery from the Canadian and American forces began to rain down on the Esdeath's position. Esdeath used her ice powers to shield herself and her men, but many were caught by the artillery fire. Esdeath's men are beginning to be slaughter like fish in a barrel. Bombers overhead begin to drop bombs on her forces.

"This is starting to become a massacre. Everyone fall back and regroup about 15 km east." Esdeath orders. But then gunfire began to sing. It was the American and Canadian forces. They were merely buying time to gather their strength and take her out. The combined forces are overwhelming in number.

"If this keeps up. Then we're done for." Esdeath realizes. "Everyone. Fall back to Sydney. We're leaving." Esdeath commands. Esdeath's forces began to make haste back to Sydney to get on their ships and leave. As not only did the enemy forces buy time but also brought in more forces. Without an air force to protect her and her men. Then they're basically sitting ducks.

Sydney

After hours of fighting and retreating. Esdeath was forced to swallow her pride and calls for a full-scale retreat. General Esdeath, not once she was beaten in a battle, but finally met her match. For she hears gunshots and men firing, but many of them are hiding, picking them off and any stragglers. She hopes to reunite with other fleets to try again. But she soon may realize that this invasion may perhaps be the only invasion she could ever be on. Today she wasn't able to use much of her ice powers but what's more important is the men that had confidence in her as a leader. She hopes still that she gets to reunite with Tatsumi back in Germany.

April 5, 1963

After six days of brutal combat. The American, Canadian, and Monroe forces finally removed all Nazi presence from the Western Hemisphere.

April 6, 1963

As millions of Americans, Canadians, and millions more of the people of the Monroe Alliance tune into their radios and TVs. President John F Kennedy is seated behind the presidential desk in the Oval Office ready to give the news to the people of the world.

"Three, two" A cameraman announces then silently says one counting down from his fingers and silently saying the word action. President Kennedy looks at the camera.

"My fellow Americans. Over the past few days of March and April of 1963. the Nazis and their allies have brought war to our homeland, territories, and our neighbors. This is the first time in almost two centuries that the United States has been attacked and witnessed a foreign power land its troops on American soil. We, the people, successfully driven back the Nazis back to the ocean. Back to where they belonged. In the process, the enemy has lost tens of their ships with our combined American Naval might, and many of those that remained surrendered to us." Kennedy stops for a second.

"Let us not celebrate just yet. As the enemy has struck us and shed our blood in the tens of thousands on our native soil." Kennedy pauses for an extra second.

"Never again I say. Never again shall the enemy shed our blood on our native land. Never again shall the enemy crucify us. Never again shall the enemy destroy our homes and our livelihoods. This war, I predict, will be hard for all of us. But when we chose to go to war. Let us fight. Let us fight not to fight because it's easy, but because it's hard." Kennedy stops again and takes an extra second to think.

"From now. The enemy shall not arrive on our land ever again. I say this to you. That the Nazis have provoked Uncle Sam and his allies. When we finally fully expand the present the gift of freedom to those oppressed under Nazi rule. Then I say we will have a job well done." Kennedy ends his speech.

"Finally. When we have the opportunity to strike back. We will strike back hard, we will strike back strong, and we won't stop until the world, is, Free! May our Lord be with us and lead us to victory and to free the world!" President Kennedy ends his speech. Same but a greater reaction to his speech when announcing the declaration of war. The American people applaud his speech, the remnants of the British empire in Canada were moved, and the Monroe Alliance states were motivated by it.

In Canada, only a few hours after President Kennedy's speech, Queen Elizabeth II gave her speech calling for all British forces to mobilize once again, and to retake their home island.

That same day, news reports about the crucifixion on Nova Scotia spread like wildfire.

April 6, 1963

Washington D.C.

The 87th Congress convened. Both chambers of Congress, the House of Representatives, a vote of 437-0, and the Senate, a vote of 100-0. Both chambers gave their unanimous vote to go to war against the Nazis. A complete unanimous vote by both chambers to go to war. This event hadn't been ever seen before, since the days of the American Revolutionary War.

April 6, 1963
The Vatican, after receiving news about the horrible massacre on Nova Scotia by the Ice General decides on a vote. On top of several church burnings and murders of priests and the propagation of demonizing the Catholic faith. The Vatican votes to excommunicate Hitler and telling all Catholic Germans and Europeans to leave the Nazi party as they are against the Church and wish to see not only the riddance of Christianity but its destruction, erasing the common faith in most of Europe. Even more so calling out the crimes of the Nazi party has done not only against the Church but also against humanity as a whole.
