Arthur's note:
Operation Aurora Borealis is now a go.

Just how will it all go down? Time to see Night Hunters get into action.

Also get ready to learn German as well.

M for gore and death.

Narsaq, Greenland

April 12, 1963

0120

The plane everyone is in is a modified C-47 Skytrain. The trip from the airbase to Narsaq was a five-hour-long tense trip between SF unit Alpha and Night Hunters. Everyone is wearing winter clothing as to not freeze on the icy island of Greenland. They are reaching their objective. Due to the high elevation, the group can see the aurora borealis, the Northern Lights. Some were mesmerized by such phenomena. One of the members mentions a fact about the lights. That one native Inuit community believes it is the spirits of their ancestors celebrating or playing a ball game.

To pass the time some brought books to read as or kept amongst themselves. One of the SF unit Alpha sergeant's was reading a compact bible aloud. Reading Psalm 91 aloud. Some of his comrades joined but the rest didn't, this included all of Night Hunters not joining, except for Captain Anderson who was in the cockpit. After he's done reading silence returned for a moment. Tatsumi asks a relatively small question to break the silence.

"Why is it called Greenland if it isn't green at all?" Tatsumi asks. He looks to his comrades. Bit asking such a trivial question most of them didn't know.

"It's because the Vikings named it Greenland. They did it to get more people to come to the island over a thousand years ago." WO1 Wilson answered.
"Now, let me ask you a question, Tatsumi." Wilson replied.

"Ask away." Tatsumi responded.

"Are you willing to kill the people that you once served? The nation that you once called home. Even if you've never met them." Wilson asks. He asked a direct question to Tatsumi. Everyone looked at Tatsumi. Tatsumi now found himself in a mental landmine and has to choose his words carefully as one mistake can spell distrust against him. Though in his past life he did kill people of the Empire that he lived in. But they were evil people. What he did then was right as to start a new world. But in this world, he was brainwashed into it. He fought and killed people that were trying to liberate their homelands. People who spoke a different language and lived a different culture, which is all stripped away by the Nazis.

"Well. What they serve for is wrong. But I wish to not draw blood anymore, I wish that they soon realize on what they're fighting for is oppressive. But if need be then I will strike them. If it means for the survival of me and my friends." Tatsumi answered with a straight face back at Wilson. The Night Hunters are delighted with his answer, especially Mine, Akame, and Lubbock. Who fought against the Empire for a better world. It was a mixed bag for Kurome and Wave as they fought for the Empire, hoping what they did create a better future in the long run.

"Well then. Let's see if your platitudes hold up." Said Wilson.

The lights cut out and turn red.

"Alright, everyone up and hook up your parachutes. Because we're nearing our objective and are going to jump." Captain Anderson announced as he was coming down from the cockpit speaking with the pilots. He walks towards the end of the C-47 and opens the door. The inside all of the sudden became freezing cold.

"When the lights turn green. Night Hunters will jump first and then unit Alpha." Anderson directed. "For anyone who forgot how to use a parachute. Well, no worries as these are designed for your parachute to open immediately when you jump out. Just hook it up and jump out." Anderson shouted an instruction.

"Yes, sir." Everyone said in unison. "Good." Responded Anderson, as he turned around and adjusted his green beret.

Captain Anderson walks to the back a bit and approaches the WO1 Wilson who was leading SF unit Alpha.

"Your team is going second. Immediately after us." Anderson tells him. Wilson nodded.

He looks out and sees they're over the head of the compound. The lights turned green.
"Alright, that is our cue. Night Hunters, we're going in first. Go go go." Anderson tells them. The first to jump was Akame, then Kurome, and Wave. Mine staggered back a bit.

"Yeah, no. I am not risking it. I might find some other way down or probably sit this one out." Mine said. Anderson walks behind her.

"HEY, what are YOU DOING. Let me go! Don't Push meeeeeeee!" Anderson pushes Mine out of the door and her scream can be heard. The hook connecting to Mine's parachuted releases her chute. Lubbock and Tatsumi are stunned by the act. Some of the sergeants were chuckling.

"What are you waiting for, go. Or I'll do the same to you two." Anderson said in a threatening tone.

Lubbock and Tatsumi ran out and begin to catch up with the rest of the team. Anderson then jumps. Tatsumi looks up and sees the SF unit Alpha jumping out as well. They looked down and couldn't see ground fast approaching.

Night Hunters landed first and they were separated by at least one hundred yards in varying directions. Due to low visibility Anderson pulls out a clicker toy and makes a few clicking sounds. This attracts the attention of the unit and follows where the sound is coming from. Due to this being a clandestine mission and the usage of lights can attract the Nazis, both units were told to use flashlights at a minimum.

Akame, Kurome, Wave, Mine, Lubbock, and Tatsumi all group up with Captain Anderson.
"This is everyone accounted for?" Ask Anderson.

"Yes." Said Akame.

"Good. Guessing from where we are. I'd say we are about one kilometer south of the Southern entrance." Anderson says.

"And unit Alpha?" Tatsumi asks.

"I don't know. But since Mine didn't jump in time, I'd say they're about two or three kilometers east or northeast of us." Anderson replied.

"Now come on. We should get going." Anderson ordered. Night Hunters began to move out.

They reach about three hundred meters from the southern entrance. The missile launchpads are only two kilometers north away from the entrance. With stores no more than two hundred meters south. The communications building is half a kilometer west on a peninsula and Nazi HQ sitting only one hundred meters north of them.

Night Hunters reach towards a small hill three hundred meters from the Southern Gate and conceal their presence. In front of them is the only entrance to the base being protected by six guards standing out but close to each other.

"So, any ideas on how to get rid of them without causing them to bring them to alert the whole base?" Anderson asked for ideas from his unit.

Tatsumi looked around a bit and looked at Kurome's sword, Yatsufusa.

"I think I got an idea?" Tatsumi says.

"What is it?" Asked Anderson.

"You may not like it. But trust me." Tatsumi says.

"Kurome. You still have those puppets right?. The German ones from New York?"

"Yes, I do. Why you ask?" Kurome asks.

The whole base covers the entirety of the once small town of Narsaq. With the HQ and Communications building being on the second peninsula. With barracks on the first peninsula and the silos only being two kilometers north from the South entrance.

At the gate, six Nazi guards are blocking the path. It isn't much aside from a standard road boom barrier followed by a chain link fenced gate that read Halt. There are also barbed wires on the sides acting as roadblocks. They all carry a Gewher 43.

"Und das was ich habe zu ihm gesagt. Dass wir sind aus in der Kalt gefrienen ohne warme Mäntel. " (And that is what I have said to him. That we are out in the cold freezing without warm coats.) The first Nazi guard concludes with a rant about his officer not giving out proper winter gear and that their freezing.

"Ich weiß das problem. Es sehr Kalt hier drübn. Aber was sind wir machen tun von der Situation?" (I know that problem. It's super cold over here. But what are we going to do of the situation?) The third Nazi guard responds.

"Du kennst, dass unser Situation würde noch nie besser für uns." (You know, that our situation would never be better.) The second German-Nazi responds.

"Ja. Ich kennte. Oh und sprachen von der Situation. Sehen da drüber. Ich sehe wenige Menschen."(Yes, I knew. Oh and speaking of the situation look over there. I see a few people.) The first Nazi guard notifies.

"Du. Gehen da drüben und fragen für ihren Papieren." (You. Go over there and ask them for documents.) The first Nazi guard tells the second.

"Warum mich?" (Why me?) The second guard replies.

"Weil du bist guten wann fragen für die Papieren von die Leute und Ausländeren. Und du hast ein gutes Augen an inspektion." (Because you are great when asking for papers of the people and forigners. And you have a good eye at inspection.) The first replies.

"Jawohl. Netzes ist deinen trun." (Yes sir. Next it's your turn.) The second replies.

"Das ist der Geist!" (That's the spirit!) The first guard slaps him on the back. The second soldier approaches them and commands them.

"Halt. Haben aus ihren Papieren für inspektion bitte." (Stop. Have out your documents for inspection please.) The six characters stop just about five yards. Four of them are dressed in German uniforms while the other two of them are in their regular attire with their USNH uniform, those two have their hands up in the air. They're Night Hunters in disguise. With great luck, the Nazis wearing the uniforms in New York and Greenland are the same. Those two wearing their coats, minus the heavy coats the six guards are clamoring for.

Tatsumi, wearing a Nazi uniform lent by a NCO Nazi puppet that is from Kurome's Imperial Arms. He approaches the second Nazi guard. Lubbock, Wave, and Anderson also were in disguised. With Akame and Kurome, acting as prisoners.

"Hier sind meine Papiere." (Here are my papers.) Tatsumi approaches the guard. He hands him an official Nazi document.

"Feldwebel Wachtmeister Tatsumi? Wirklich, Der Drachen Ritter!" (Field-usher Watch-master (Technical Sergeant) Tatsumi? Really, The Dragon Knight!) The guard is confused and ecstatic. This is the first time he is seeing the famous Dragon knight in his own eyes.

"Ja, wirklich. Ich bin ihm. Mich und drei Soldaten wurden entkommen aus Nova Scotia und zurück nach Deutchland. Aber wir halten zu Gröneland. Ach, und wir haben zwei Gefangenin" (Yes, really, I am him. Me and three other soldiers were escaping from Nova Scotia and returning back to Germany. But we stopped at Greenland. Ah, and we have two prisoners.) Tatsumi replied.

"Das ist gut. Ich vermut Sie könnten helfen unser project." (That is good. I guess they could help with our project.) The second replies. He turns around and calls for two others to come.
"Oi. Herkommen und fragen diese Leute hier." (Hey. Come here and question these people here.) The second orders for help.

"Ja!" (Yes.) The first and fourth guards reply. The first and fourth guard begins to walk. The two begin to walk down towards the Night Hunters. The first guard approaches Anderson who was disguised. The third guard approaches the two ladies.

The first guard approaches Anderson. He does as ordered following Tatsumi's example. The fourth guard begins to make a couple of comments and gestures about the new "playthings" that he and his men would have fun with tonight.

"Oi. Dass ist Genung." (That's enough.) The second orders the Fourth guard. The first and third guard turns around and begins to walk away.

"Ok. Alles ist gut. Sie können passieren nun." (Ok. All is good. You can pass now.) The second guard tells Tatsumi. He turns around and orders the three to lift the boom barrier and the gate.

"Wilkommen, Feldwebel Wachtmeister." (Welcome Field-usher Watch-master.) The second welcome's Tatsumi. He turns around and walks back.

"Danken Sie." (Thank you.) Tatsumi says.

It wasn't even three steps for the second guard. He senses a feeling down under. He turns around and sees Tatsumi with his sword covered in blood. Blood begins to rush out, it was his blood. He was sliced from the waist. He collapses in two with blood coming out. The fourth guard, not far, saw this action. He turns around with his Gewher 43 on hand. Until one of the "prisoners", Akame, rushes him. He is slice immediately at the neck and collapses. The first guard turns and sees the carnage happening. Anderson rushes him and stabs him in the neck with a bowie knife. The other three guarding the gates saw this happen almost instantaneously. The fifth guard orders the third to run back and call for backup and to sound the alarm. The fifth and six guards felt a tug. Their weapons were pulled away from them by Lubbock's imperial arms. Kurome and Wave charged at them. They cut down those guards as well.

"Scheisse, Scheisse, Scheisse! Ich muss um berichten zu den Obrest und, ach!" (Shit, Shit, Shit! I must report this to the Colonel and, ach.) The third collapses as he was running. He was shot in the head from Mine's gun, Pumpkin. The sound verberrated but it wasn't loud enough to warrant any huge concerns.

"That was pretty good you guys." Tatsumi says.
"That's great and all but why do I always not get a kill." Lubbock comments in a grumpy way.

"So what do you think that shot?" Mine approaches the rest of the team.

"Pretty good if ask me." Says Kurome.

"Alright, we should get going now. Unit Alpha is arriving soon." Anderson speaks.

"Thunder." WO1 Wilson calls out in a medium tone.

"What? Flash." Anderson replies back.

"Captain. Woah what just happened here?" WO1 Wilson team arrives at the very moment when Night Hunters finished killing off the guards.

"Our team just took out those guards. That is what happened." Wave replied.

"I see. Why are you in Nazi uniforms?" Asked Wilson.

"It's to draw less suspicion away from us." Tatsumi replies back.

"I think it's doing the opposite." Wilson points out. He points behind Tatsumi in which two canvased trucks carrying ten men and a driver each is pulling up. The team quickly works to get rid of the bodies. SF unit alpha hides behind the barbed wire and shrubs, as Night Hunters crouch behind SF unit Alpha. As the truck stop, the driver sees a thin metal wire. He gets out followed by the men in the back. In unison, SF unit Alpha and Anderson, with AR-15 carbine equipped with suppressors, get up and start to fire on the guards, Night Hunters move in to kill several of the Nazi soldiers still standing.
"That was a close one." Says Anderson.
"Their HQ isn't far. We should take that truck." Sfc. Johnson noted.
"Alright, anyone who isn't in their uniforms I suggest layering that on top of what you're all wearing right now." Anderson orders SF unit Alpha, Kurome, Akame, and Mine to dress up as the Nazi soldiers.
"Tatsumi and Wave, go check if they have a radio and if they do. Then tell them everything is good if they're asking question. Everyone else, help me get rid of the bodies." Anderson orders everyone to move.
"Yes, Captain." Tatsumi and Wave followed orders.

0145

A few minutes pass by. Two truck comes driving by with its canvas up. Its occupants is the team that is tasked with destroying the facility, most notably its rockets, HQ, and Communications. Everyone is dressed with the Nazi guard uniforms wearing on top of their original ones. The trucks split up. The team split into two with SF unit Alpha, minus Sgt. Arthur and, are to secure and plant C4 in and around the missile silos.
Night Hunters, plus Sgt. Arthur, arrive at their objective. The HQ and Communications buildings. Luckily they're close to each other and not far. With them being about hundred yards from each other.

Night Hunters also split into two. Cpt. Anderson, Sgt. Arthur, and Lubbock, move into the Communications building and dispatched every guard there.

They open the door. "Gute Nacht." (Good Night) Lubbock enters. He uses his imperial arms, cross tails, to remove the weapons from the guards. He manipulated his imperial arms to wrap around the necks of the five Nazi communicators and hangs them. Within an instant, their necks snap and he slowly drops the bodies down as to not create a large thud.

"Was der Holle war da?" (What the hell was that?) A couple of Nazis run down the steps. Captain Anderson and Sgt. Arthur opens fire on the Nazis with their AR-15 Carbine with a suppressor.
"Move up. And Lubbock creates a barrier for us." Cpt Anderson orders. The trio move up the stairs and up above a Nazi guard opens fire with his MP-40. The bullets ricochet, thanks to Lubbock's barrier. Cpt. Anderson and Sgt. Arthur open fire at the guard, killing him. They soon clear out the room. Once that is done, Sgt. Arthur gets to work and plants and sets C-4. He hooks them up to a brand new radio detonator that transmits a detonation signal up to 5 km. They evacuate the building and rushes to enemy HQ.

In the HQ building. Tatsumi, Akame, Wave, Kurome, and Mine reach the outside of building. The building itself has several guards and a few high ranking officers, with a Colonel who is in charge of the base. Kurome releases a few of her puppets, choosing the Nazi soldiers. They open the door and enter the building.
"Wann Sie wollen zu leben. Raus heir jetzt." (If you want to live. Get out of here now.) Tatsumi tells the occupants of the HQ. The Nazis in the building begin to laugh at his comment.
"So. Ich sehe Sie haben ihre Wahl gemacht." (So. I see you have made your choice.) Tatsumi states their final decision.
"Let's kill them." Tatsumi tells his comrades. The battle in the building is bloody and a terrifying scene. Nazi soldiers to no avail are able to kill the Night Hunters. Akame slices through several of the guards. Kurome comes down slicing several in half, trapping their souls into her Imperial Arms. Wave and Tatsumi kills several guards. After clearing the ground floor they move up to the first floor. A Nazi turns around the corner. Before he shoots, Mine, with her Imperial Arms, Pumpkin takes a shot and shoots at the man square at the head. He collapses. They thanked her for the action, but as a "genius" sniper she is, she gloats a bit.

Cpt. Anderson, Sgt. Arthur, and Lubbock reach towards the bloodied scene. They weren't shocked much by this but felt that this caused more then necessary noise. Sgt. Arthur started to get to work and hook up the C-4s. He place them in every part of the ground flood. He works his way up and sees Mine setting up a sniper position, with the rest of Night Hunters standing guard. The Nazi Obrest (Colonel) who was head of the place is kneeling on the ground with his hands behind his heads, surrounded by a few of Kurome's puppets.

"Alright, all charges are set all we need is for the rest of SF unit Alpha to come back and we get to escape." Sgt. Arthur noted.

"I think I see them?" Mine calls out. A single truck is passing by and it flashes its headlights twice.
"That's them." Mine calls out.
"Alright they're coming. But how do we escape from here?" Said Arthur.

The truck stops

"You can't" Said the Obrest. "They already know your here." The Obrest said. He got up, keeping his arms in the air, and the puppets trained their aim at him.

"What do you mean?" Said Anderson.

"I said, what I have said." Said the Obrest. As he slowly begin to move.

"Don't move another inch." Akame raises her sword towards the Obrest throat.

"I don't intend to do anymore fighting, Fraulein." Said the Obrest.

"But if you must. Then strike me down. I know that you won't." The Obrest was calling her bluff. But she knew that this man is important.

"Ich mag Sie. Eventuell, wir konnten Freunden sein im weiterer neue ein Leben." (I like you. Perhaps, we could be friends in another life.) The Obrest said. He turns around. He moved his tongue and places a hidden cyanide capsule in his teeth, and shows it to the rest of the people in the room.
"No!" Tatsumi and Anderson shouted. The Obrest chomps down on the cyanide capsule. Within mere moments his heart stops. And collapses dead.

0200

SF unit Alpha arrives in front of the door.

"The charges have been placed sir. Just give the order and we will detonate them. Holy Christ!" WO1 Wilson tells Cpt. Anderson just as he enters the room seeing the Obrest taking his own life.

"Great, now he's dead. Now we have to leave this place without getting detected." He checks the map on the table. In the map their is an airfield about 31 miles north-east from where we are. To get there, there are PT boats on this pier. " Anderson comments. Alarm sounds begin to go off, along with red light sirens.
"Well fuck, they know we're here." Cpt. Anderson commented.

"He has a dead man's switch installed in him?!" Akame stated.

"Alright, everyone move. We're leaving." Anderson orders them.

"Got it." Everyone in the replied.

The teams leaves the HQ building. Nazi guards and soldiers are scrambling around to know what is going on.

"Sgt. Alvarez. What C4 did you use?" Asked Cpt. Anderson.

"I used a timer variant. It's going to go off just about now." Sgt. Alvarez stated. A large explosion is created followed by a boom shortly afterwards. The resulting explosion caused an air barrier to push anything that isn't tied down to fly away.

"DA!" (There!) A Nazi guard shouted. Seeing the nineteen man group begin to make a run for it. Kurome unleashes most of her Nazi puppets to act as rear guard. While SF unit Alpha and Night Hunters shoot or slice down any enemies they encounter at the front.

After running for over quarter of a mile south east from the HQ building. They reach towards the closest pier. Their is an unattended PT Boat, a German S-Boot, or an E-Boat S-100.

They all got on the E-Boat whilst the Nazis began to open fire on the teams. Lubbock used his imperial arms to create a large and thin barrier to protect his team. SF unit Alpha shot back at the Nazis. The boat began to move and Lubbock got on the PT boat and begin to drive away

"Alright, this is everyone." Anderson commented.

"SFC. Johnson, I need you to navigate and drive 31 miles north-east to Narsarsuaq. Follow this map to this point." Anderson circles and dots the map to a checkpoint.

"There is an air field with planes that we get away from. Everyone else man a gun position or use a gun." Cpt. Anderson ordered. He then orders Sgt. Arthur to set off the explosives in the two buildings. He does and another loud and bright explosion follows. This instantly kills several Nazis who were caught by the explosion.
Two more E-Boats begin to give chase against them.

"Captain more are coming." Wave sees two more E-Boats chasing after them. They begin to open fire at the Night Hunters and SF unit Alpha boat. Night Hunters

SGT. Moore gets on 37 mm in the aft of the E-Boat and begin to fire back. He shoots the pursuer on the left, destroying it. He turns to the right but is shot at and wounded. He is dragged out by Lubbock who laced him with his imperial arms to stop the bleeding until one of the medics can tend to him. Lubbock then got on the 37mm and shoots down the second boat. He was excited by how the 37mm fired and how it felt. They sail at three quarters towards max speed towards their objective.

"I hope that's all of them." Tatsumi comments.

"Let's hope so." Anderson replies.

"How long until the checkpoint?" Asked Tatsumi.

"In about forty minutes to an hour." SFC. Johnson replied.

They sail away on the E-Boat. Hoping that when they reach the airfields Northeast, then they would be home free.
