A/N: Another short one this time. Chuck and Sarah's youngest, Liam, is five-years-old. He is a mostly happy child, but …
Thanks to those of you that reviewed the last chapter on Chuck's troubles getting home. Not surprisingly, it received far more reviews than the chapters on OCs. Well, this one is another OC chapter.
MyNameIsJeffNImLost again beta'd for me. Yet more corrections and Americanization work needed. As usual, any mistakes found are all mine.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck or the lyrics I have used, but, as always, recommend listening to the songs as well as watching the show.
After You, Christmess
Liam
Everybody pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!
All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth!
Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."
It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
if I could only whistle (thhhh, thhhh)
"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"

He was glad school was over. Those older kids laughing at him with the big gap between his teeth had made him cry.
Luckily, he'd come home with his sister, Maire, that final day. If Mommy had collected him, she might have gotten angry and told those boys off.
He loves his mommy so much. She is the bestest mommy in the world, but when she gets angry, she is the scariest. She doesn't get mad very often, which makes it so much scarier when she does. It's not that she shouts or hits people; she never does either of those, with children, at least. No, she has a look, a very frightening look. She's never used it on him, but he's seen her use it on Daddy. When she does, he freezes and he does whatever he can to stop her continuing.
So, those boys were lucky. They didn't get Mommy's glare. The glare that Daddy says can pierce the walls of a spaceship. Wow, that must be something to watch!
Gwen is his super tough older sister. She may only be eleven, but she's not frightened of anything. Even Mommy. At least, she says she's not scared of Mommy, but Liam has seen her cowering behind the sofa, hiding from Mommy when she'd done things wrong. Liam loves her, but has learned not to believe everything she says. She is scary too, though. She gets angry very quickly, but when anyone gets either him or his sister Kathryn upset, Gwen will push them away and yell at them. He loves that she is so protective, but he wishes she wouldn't get that angry. Mommy and Daddy don't like that either, which causes a lot of arguments with her.
Now, he is sitting at home watching TV. Sometimes his sister Kathryn joins him and they watch programs together. He loves watching with someone else. Kathryn is great. She likes the same programs that he does. When there is a song, she joins in with him and they sing as loud as they can.
Mommy will come and join them, sometimes. She doesn't join in very often, but she loves to be with them when they sing. When they do, her grin is almost as big as Daddy's.
Both Mommy and Daddy hug him a lot. They hug all their children when they can. He and Kathryn love it. Gwen says she doesn't, but Liam thinks she does really. He is sure Maire loves it and she hugs them back just as much. Mommy is the best at hugging, but she says that Daddy taught her how to do it, so that must be why he's good at it too.
Liam missed Daddy. He's been gone for ages.
Mommy doesn't like to play video games with Liam. She says, "That's Daddy's thing." Maire used to play with him too, but she is always with her boyfriend, or she was until two days ago; now she is just doing things with Mommy, helping her get everything ready for when Daddy gets home. So, Liam has no one to play with until Daddy can, but Liam knows that won't be soon. After Daddy has hugged and kissed everyone, Mommy will take him to their bedroom and lock the door for the rest of the day, telling Maire to look after everyone else. That always happens when either of them goes away on their own.
Mommy has told them all that Daddy will be home tomorrow. Liam can't wait to see him. He can show Daddy the money that the tooth fairy left for him, after taking those two front teeth that fell out. Liam is rich now!
He does miss those teeth, though. He has to eat everything on one side or the other, because he can't bite. That means Mommy has to cut up his apples. He can drink milkshakes with straws, though.
Mommy says he will get some new teeth, but they haven't come yet. So, he still looks weird with that big gap. It also means he has difficulty saying some words. Christmas is one of those. And Santa. He hopes that Santa will still come and leave him presents, even if Liam can't say his name.
Mommy says even Santa can't bring his two front teeth. Nor can Daddy, even though he has been away in another land. That other land Daddy went to can't be the place where they grow teeth. Liam is sad about that.
Maybe something will happen, and he will get those two front teeth for Christmas, but if he doesn't he will still have his daddy back and his mommy will make everything nice. So will his two grannies. Both of them are coming.
Granny Emma will hug him as much as Mommy does and he will hug her back as hard as he can. She always has stories to tell them all about Mommy when she was little. They all love to hear those, but Mommy is always a bit sad when she hears them, so usually Granny Emma only does that when Mommy is busy in the kitchen.
Granny Mary doesn't hug, but he loves talking to her. She looks at him as if he is the smartest boy in the world, which always makes him happy, and she tells him things that even Mommy and Daddy don't. That's why he is the expert on a place called Washington, DC. He has no idea where that is, but he is still the expert on it. She also tells him stories about what Daddy was like when he was Liam's age and how naughty he was. Mommy laughs at those if she hears them, but Granny Mary only lets Mommy hear some of them. Granny is so good at spotting when anyone comes near them and knows who it is before Liam even sees them. She is amazing.
Liam knows Christmas is going to be wonderful, even if his two front teeth don't appear.
A/N: I remember losing those early teeth. I also remember having others taken out. In those days, they used gas, so you went to sleep and woke with something to put under your pillow for the tooth fairy. I remember when I was eight telling a five-year-old who followed me in how easy it was to make money!
Next chapter we will be back with the fretting mother, Sarah Bartowski. How's she coping?
