Chapter 3

A/N: Hello sorry for the long wait! Things happened but now I'm glad to say I'll be updating this story again! And it comes along with new surprises. Originally this story was going to contain only Kei's story with the other members stories being released once this story was finished, but I had an interesting idea. I will be releasing four stories throughout these next four days. One story will follow Keishin story before he became the head, the second story will follow Koshi story before he became the head, the third story will follow Asahi story, and the last story will follow Shoyo's story which is happening at the same time as Kei's story. This is a new format I wanted to try so I hope you will all read and enjoy the series. Also due to some things in my personal life, there will be a schedule list on my profile. There I will add which stories to expect to be updated on which day. This will be a slow process so I do ask for some time and patients. Thank you for reading and don't forget to let me know what you think! Have good day/afternoon/night! Ciao Ciao!

Kei sighed as looked around at the table. When his mother, Tetsuro, and Kei himself went to meet up with the rest of the families in the living room, they were already in the dining hall. At the head of the table was his grandfather Keishin, the previous head of the Karasuno family. To his grandfather's left, his other grandfather Ittetsu, was sitting there. Next to him was his father, then his mother, and then his little brother Shoyo. Then the older twin of the Twin Foxes family, Atsumu, sat next to Shoyo. Then his oldest brother's fiance, Yu, sat next to Atsumu. Then his oldest brother and finally Kei. At that end of the table was the previous head of the Nekoma and grandfather of Tetsuro and his siblings, Manabu. Sitting at Manabu's left was Tetsuro, then Tetsuro's middle brother Morisuke, then Morisuke's fiance Lev, then the youngest of the Nekoma family Kenma. Next to him was the younger twin of the Twin Foxes, Osamu. Next to him was Tobio, Shoyo's fiance and the little brother of the head of Aoba Johsai's partner. Next to Tobio was his older brother, Toru, and next to him was Hajime, the head of Aoba Johsai family. They were all chatting amongst each other as they waited for the food to come in.

"Manabu, how are things back in the big city?" Keishin asked Manabu who just chuckled.

"You should come visit sometime. The night life would do you good." Manabu said.

"We aren't that young anymore. Maybe you should come to town. Some fresh air will clear those old lungs of yours." Keishin chuckled.

"I see Ittetsu all the time in the city." Manabu said.

"Now now you know I go shopping." Ittetsu chuckled.

"And drinking." Manabu said, "Still can out drink us all."

"Oh hush you, I can just hold my liquor." Ittetsu waved Manabu off.

"You are the best after all." Keishin smiled as he held Ittetsu's hand.

"And you are the worst at holding it, Keishin." Manabu chuckled.

"I feel we are pretty even at it. I won last round. I think that makes our little battle a tie." Keishin smirked.

"Well maybe our boys here will continue on with our little game after we pass." Manabu said as he looked at Tetsuro who just smiled.

"Our little Kei is just like his grandpa Ittetsu, he can handle this liquor." Keishin said, "Isn't that right Kei?"

Kei looked at him and then at his mother who gave a slight nod. "Uhh yeah. I can hold my drinking, but that's because I don't drink often."

"Just like your grandpa, so humble." Manabu chuckled. "Maybe you can rub some of that humbleness off Tetsuro here."

"I'm hurt that you don't think I'm humble." Tetsuro gave a sly smile.

"You humble? Ha!" Morisuke snickered, making Lev and Kenma snicker as well.

"Hush you'll make me look bad." Tetsuro muttered at them.

"You do that all on your own." Kenma said.

"Hey!" Tetsuro glared slightly at Kenma.

Shoyo giggled a bit as Kenma glanced a bit at him, blushing slightly.

"Now now it's okay to have little flaws. That's what partners are there for. To help you grow." Ittetsu said.

"Couldn't have said it better myself Ittetsu." Manabu said just as the maids came out with the food and drinks.

"It's a shame your grandfather couldn't have joined us Hajime, it's been a while since we last saw him." Keishin said as he looked at Hajime.

"He would have liked to come but since he's still in Argentina, he couldn't make it." Hajime responded.

"Argentina huh, he's been spending a lot of time down there. Must be enjoying the sun a lot." Manabu said.

"Yes, he very much enjoys it. He goes every few months just to relax." Hajime explains.

"He relaxes so much because he knows you are taking good care of the family, darling." Toru chuckled. "And of course me being there to help makes him happy."

"Yes, grandfather does like to make things difficult." Hajime smirked as Toru glared at him a bit, making Tobio snicker.

"That's the first I've seen you even slightly smile." Shoyo said in amazement.

Tobio quickly went back to having a serious look.

"You'll have to forgive my little brother, he's quite shy." Toru chuckled.

"He was pretty quiet when we had the meeting yesterday." Atsumu said.

"But he is quite respectful and very knowledgeable. He's learned your teachings well Hajime." Osamu complimented.

"Thank you Osamu." Hajime said.

"Well my dear husband did help me raise my little brother. So of course he has our smarts." Toru smiled as he patted Tobio's back a bit.

"That's good that he has you two." Asahi said, "I'm sure Tobio is a good boy."

"At least he's calmer than our little brother." Kei said.

"I am calm." Shoyo pouted a bit.

"And Yu is so quiet." Kei smirked.

"Hey! I'm quiet!" Yu yelled a bit.

"Dear, your voice." Asahi chuckled.

"Ah sorry Asahi." Yu muttered, making Kei snicker a bit.

"Told you." Kei said.

"Well let's start eating." Keishin said as they started to eat and drink.

Kei ate as he wasn't really listening to what everyone was talking about. He mostly just looked at his food and ate silently. Asahi noticed this and nudged him a bit, making Kei look at him. Asahi gave him a reassuring smile as Kei smiled a bit back at him before looking back down at his food. He felt someone watching him as he looked up to see Tetsuro smiling at him. Kei looked away as he ate.

'How long has he been looking at me? Just ignore him Kei.' Kei thought as he ate.

"Kei. Kei!" Keishin yelled a bit as Kei looked at his grandfather.

"Oh um yes grandfather?" Kei looked at him a bit surprised.

"Did you hear what we asked?" Keinshin asked.

"Of course he did, he was just thinking about what to say. Right Kei?" Koshi looked at his son, "You agree?"

"Uhh yeah." Kei said.

"Excellent, you'll have a grand time at the house." Manabu said as they all kept talking.

"What did I just agree to?" Kei whispered to Asahi.

"You just agreed to spend the week with the Nekoma family at their place." Asahi whispered, "I was surprised that you agreed."

"I did what now?" Kei was surprised but then looked over at his mother who just smiled happily. He sighed, "I wasn't paying attention. Great, I dug myself into a hole."

"Come on Kei, it won't be that bad. Try to get along with him. He seems like a good guy." Asahi nudged him a bit. "I'll visit you if you want."

"I guess." Kei sighed as he ate.

Kei sighed as he held his glass of wine as he looked out to the garden and watched his grandparents, his parents, Kuro's grandfather, and the head of the Aoba Johsai leader talking and laughing. He glanced over to see Asahi talking with Tetsuro, Morisuke, and the twin foxes. He also noticed Yu and Lev talking with someone of the guards, while Shoyo talked to what seemed like a blushing Kenma as he had a game console out. A little closer to some of the tree's he noticed Toru talking to Tobio but it seemed more like he was lecturing him.

'Wonder what's that about? Actually I noticed he doesn't talk a lot. He's really serious too.' He thought as he saw Toru give Tobio a stern look before walking away to talk happily to his husband.

Tobio looked down as he sighed in frustration.

Kei looked at him before looking at Shoyo who was distracted. 'I'm so going to regret this.' He walked over to Tobio and stood next to him. "Enjoying whatever this is?" He asked.

Tobio glanced at him as he straightened up. "I believe this is a gathering."

Kei tried to hold in a laugh, "I know but come on you're a little too serious. This isn't like a meeting where you're making deals."

"Big brother Toru says I should always be on my best behavior." Tobio explained. "We are part of the Aoba Johsai family now, we cannot be a disappointment."

"Hmm so that's why he was giving you a mean look. It looked like he was lecturing you." Kei said as he sipped his wine. "I'm guessing it's because you're not really interacting with everyone else? You were pretty quiet at lunch."

Tobio gulped a bit, "I don't know how."

Kei glanced at him, "So you're socially awkward." He said as he noticed Tobio flinched a bit as if he was right. "You and Shoyo are pretty opposite then. Shoyo gets along with lots of people. He's also loud, and annoying at times." He said looking over at Shoyo who looked amazed at Kenma. "But he's emotional. You don't seem like a bad kid but Shoyo isn't ready for an engagement."

Tobio looked at him surprised. "Do you think-" he suddenly stopped and looked away. "No, you're trying to trick me into saying I don't want this."

Kei's eyes widened in realization. "Are you being forced to marry Shoyo?"

Tobio looked down, "Big brother Toru says I have to. It's the least I could do for the family."

Kei glanced over at Toru who was laughing and making conversation with his father. "Yeah, I understand that feeling. Look, we don't know each other well, but listen to my advice, don't marry someone just because. You won't live a happy life if you do." He said as he glanced over at Tetsuro who was looking at him, "You'll never be free if you do."

Tobio looked at Kei surprised, "Why are you telling me this?"

"Like I said, I know how it is when people who are supposed to love you make you do things you don't want to do." Kei said as he looked at Tobio, "Do as you like but always make sure you're doing it for yourself. I don't care if you marry my little brother or not. But if you are, do it because you want to." He said as he finished his wine. "Don't let your brother control you kid, who knows how that will end up for you in the end." He said as he walked away.

Tobio looked at the walking Kei surprised before he looked at his older brother, who was chatting away.

Kei walked over to Shoyo and Kenma as he put his hand on Shoyo's head. "Shoyo, why don't you, Kenma, and Tobio go play in my game room? There's more space for you guys to talk. I'll even let you play with my systems."

Shoyo was surprised but smiled, "Really Kei? You'll let me play with your systems again?"

"Just be careful. Go on." He ruffled his hair, "Don't break anything."

Shoyo nodded before he looked at Kenma, "Come on, let's get Tobio and go play!"

Kenma blushed but nodded as Shoyo took his arm and led him to a serious Tobio.

Kei chuckled before he felt someone next to him. He looked over and froze a bit, "How long have you been there?" He said as he looked at a grinning Tetsuro.

"Long enough. I guess you still are a baby crow after all, you couldn't even hear me walking towards you." Tetsuro chuckled as he gave a full glass of wine to Kei before he took the empty glass. "My fiancé looks pretty with a glass of wine."

"Don't make me throw this at you again." Kei warned.

"Well aren't you feisty, but I am curious why you sent my little brother to go be with your little brother and the Aoba Johsai's brother." Tetsuro asked.

"As much as I can tolerate my little brother I feel like he would drive Tobio insane. Which is why I think the twin foxes are here to meditate with them. But they can't truly talk if they're in constant watch of the foxes." Kei explained as he sipped his wine. "So sending someone Shoyo seems to get along with will hopefully get them talking."

"You really care about him huh?" Tetsuro chuckled.

"I just don't want my brother to be in a loveless marriage." Kei glared at Tetsuro. "Don't need him to end up in my position."

Tetsuro laughed as he pulled Kei close, "You still think I won't win your little game?"

Kei smirked, "Aww you still think you have a chance?"

"I do." Tetsuro said as he leaned into his ear, "I can see you'll be a very fun cat toy."

Kei's eyes widened as he tried to push away with his free hand, "Get away from me."

"But we're just teasing each other Kei." Tetsuro as he made a sign to Lev to remove the empty glass from his hand.

Lev quickly came over and took the glass away before leaving. Tetsuro smirked and held Kei even closer as his hand was on his butt again.

"There, now I can see your cute face." Tetsuro smirked as Kei felt himself turn a bit red.

"You pervy stray cat let go of me or I will throw this glass of wine on you." Kei threatened.

"Then I would have to change in front of you again. Oh, I see! Is that your plan, my naughty crow, to see me shirtless again? All you had to do was ask. I have no shame." Tetsuro chuckled.

"You really do have no shame. You just like flashing me, you creep." Kei glared at him.

"Ah look honey, such young love." The two heard Toru say as he walked with Hajime to them.

"Seems to me like a fight is going to happen." Hajime chuckled.

"Oh come now. I wouldn't fight my cute fiancé. How can I hit such a cute face?" Tetsuro chuckled.

"Funny, I was just thinking of so many ways to hit your face." Kei smirked as he pushed Tetsuro a bit away from him but Tetsuro's just moved his hand to his waist and held him there firmly.

"How violent you are Kei, I don't think I could ever hit my dear Hajime's face. He's just so handsome." Toru smiled happily.

"I'm pretty sure I've hit you back in our training days for never paying attention." Hajime smirked as Toru acted shocked.

"Hajime I was only distracted by your amazingness, though it's only right to stare as we are the best." Toru chuckled before looking at Kei, "Though I heard from your mother that you never really trained?"

Kei rolled his eyes a bit, "I trained for a while but dropped it. I'm not interested in all this."

"Dropped it? I wasn't aware you can stop training. Well makes sense as you did go to a normal school. Must have not been able to handle the training." Toru chuckled a bit. "So opposite to you Tetsuro."

"Well that's fine. I prefer a cute housewife to watch over the kids." Tetsuro teased as Kei shivered a bit.

"Already planning an heir so soon." Hajime chuckled, "Babies are a lot of work. You should hold off for a bit. Enjoy your freedom before you're tied down."

"Hajime you're so mean to me." Toru pouted, "It's not my fault you want a competent lover. Can't help lead the family if I'm busy with our cute future baby."

"Maybe focus on your little brother's happiness." Kei muttered out.

"What was that?" Toru smiled at him but his eyes looked like he was ready to attack.

"Oh nothing." Kei smiled too sweetly.

Hajime laughed, "You're fun Kei. I hope you'll be nice to our Tobio. He just needs time to adjust."

"Oh we've talked, he seems very nice. Very respectful. I can only imagine he learned that from you, Hajime." Kei said as he smirked at Toru.

"Well I can see all the niceness went to your little brother Shoyo." Toru smirked back as lighting sparked in between them.

"Speaking of where are they?" Hajime said as he looked around, "I haven't seen them for a bit."

"They're off playing a game in my game room. Thought I would be more fun for them. Since they're young and all, I'm pretty sure this is boring for them." Kei explained.

"They're alone?!" Toru asked a bit angrily.

"They're not, my little brother is with them." Tetsuro explained.

"Oh, right." Toru laughed a bit as the angry tone disappeared, "They would be the youngest ones here. I'm sure they're having fun." He smiled, "Ah Hajime, we should ask Koshi for a tour of the garden."

"Of course dear, excuse us." Hajime chuckled as the two left.

"Well, doesn't he have a temper." Kei rolled his eyes as he drank his wine. He noticed he was almost done with it. 'I better slow down. I don't want to do something stupid.' He looked around to see Toru give a sign to the older fox twin, as Atsumu excused himself and headed inside the mansion.

"Kei, Kei!" Tetsuro yelled a bit as he waved his hand in front of Kei's face.

Kei looked at him confused, "What? Can't you see I'm ignoring you?" He said but internally he was surprised.

Tetsuro chuckled, "Well aren't you something. Come on, at least give me a chance." He said as he drank his wine, "How about we get to know each other better."

"Is that your plan to get me to like you?" Kei smirked, "Why don't you figure it out?"

"I do have my ways but I want you to start learning how to trust me." Tetsuro smiled gently.

"Well why don't you open up first? How can I trust you if you're practically a stranger who's assaulted me." Kei pointed out as he drank.

"Then how about a game?" Tetsuro suggested, "If I win, you answer all my questions. If you win, I'll answer all of yours."

Kei chuckled, "What's the game?"

"Well our grandfathers do want us to continue their drinking competition. Let's see who can hold out more." Tetsuro smirked

"I can hold my liquor." He smirked, "Thankfully I got that tolerance from my grandpa."

"Is that so?" Tetsuro smirked as he snapped his fingers as a maid brought out another two glasses of wine. "I would love to test that theory."

Kei glared at him before he drank the rest of his wine before taking the new glass, "Well you'll have to try very hard." He said as he moved away from him. "Good luck pervy cat." He smirked as he walked away.

Tetsuro laughed a bit as he finished his and took the other glass, "Make sure his cup is never empty." He told the maid who nodded and bowed. "Let our game begin."

Keishin watched his son and husband talk about the Karasuno garden to their guest as he stayed back with Daichi. "How is Kei taking all this?"

"He's resistant but according to Koshi he's going to listen for a while." Daichi said.

"Stubborn son, reminds me of you when you wanted Koshi's hand. Or maybe he reminds me of Koshi when he first hated you." Keishin chuckled. "Such an old memory."

"Well I did prove myself to you after all. The police force is under the Karasuno family control, and soon we'll have the support of the other family's." Daichi said as he drank some of his wine.

"Yes, that is true. Asahi will take over once you retire, Shoyo will be our entrance to the Aoba Johsai territory to expand our business, but our issue was what to do with our little Kei." Keishin chuckled, "I would have hoped he would have grown up by now. Maybe training again, but no. You were soft on him." He said as he gave a stern glance at Daichi, "Now you're going to handle that problem right?"

Daichi looked at his glass before he smiled and looked at Keishin, "Father, our little Kei is very stubborn. Could I have forced him to train, maybe, but that would have just made it harder to keep him home once he grew up." He said as he looked around and saw Kei leave Tetsuro's side. "Besides I think a chat with his grandfather will do him some good, don't you agree?"

Keishin looked over to where Daichi was looking over as he watched Kei walk around. "Always having to keep things in order. Maybe I shouldn't have retired so early." He said as he walked over to Kei.

"Did you ever retire?" Daichi muttered to himself as he walked over to Koshi.

"Kei!" Keishin called as he walked over to Kei.

Kei turned and looked at his grandfather as he stopped walking, "Yes grandfather?"

"We haven't had a chance to talk just you and me. And it's been a while since you've visited the house, do you not like your dear old grandfather anymore?" Keishin teased as he walked up to him.

"Well before this forced marriage happened, I had liked you, now I'm debating." Kei countered.

Keishin laughed a bit, "Well at least you inherited my smart mouth." He wrapped an arm around Kei and smiled. "Talk to your grandfather, why don't you want to marry the Nekoma head?"

"Simple, I don't want to have anything to do with the family." Kei said bluntly. "You know this grandfather. I want to live a quiet, normal, boring life."

"I don't know where you get that from. I never wanted to live a normal life, nor did your grandpa, your mom, or even your brothers. Your father had a normal one but decided to come into our life because he knew it was better." Keishin said, "Maybe that part of your father got transferred to you."

"Maybe." Kei shrugged as he drank some of his wine, "It would be nice if I could, you know, go into the city today?"

"Sure, if you take Tetsuro with you." Keishin smirked as Kei pouted a bit. "That's what I thought. Besides, what do you have in the city? Your father told me you already know about your childhood friend."

Kei clenched his fist, "Let me guess you knew about that too?" He asked though he knew his answer.

"Of course. I helped set it up. Tadashi's grandfather is a good friend of mine." Keishin explained, "They work undercover for us so having this was going to be easy. Having his grandson, who was already being trained to be your bodyguard, be the one who watches over you worked for us."

Kei glared at him, "So you helped with this lie."

"Well as much as I disliked that you went to normal school, I still worried for you. Your life could have been in danger many times. Having Tadashi there to protect you would at least give us peace in mind." Keishin said as he took out a cigarette pack and pointed it to Kei. "Even if you don't like being part of this family, others don't see it like that." Kei took a cigarette out as Keishin did the same and then got out his lighter. "Do you remember what happened to Asahi? How he would always be in danger going out."

"That's when Yu was contracted. He was a thug picked up by Ryuunosuke and trained to be Asahi's bodyguard." Kei said as he watched his grandfather light their cigarettes, "Though he was even more annoying back then."

"But Asahi was protected and never harmed again." Keishin pointed out before he took a drag. "We are lucky that you and Shoyo weren't targeted. But that won't be forever. Rival families will learn more about you both. So having you both protected is the best move."

Kei took a drag before he sighed, "Grandfather marrying us off isn't the way. How come Asahi got to marry Yu, but me and Shoyo have to marry into families. Last I checked our lives aren't yours to control."

"Asahi will take over the family when the time comes. You and Shoyo will not. Your usefulness to this family is marrying others in order to gain alliances." Keishin said bluntly. "Think long and hard about the choices you're making, Kei. Your grandpa and mother can't protect you forever."

"Grandfather, when the time comes for me to leave the family, I will not say goodbye to you. I don't trust that you wouldn't try something to get me to stay." Kei said as he took a drink of his wine. "I am your grandson, not a pawn in your little game. I will never marry Tetsuro." He glared at him.

Keishin chuckled, "You know you have that same determination in your eye. The same one your grandpa had whenever he wanted something. Of course I love him so I'd give him anything he wants." He pulled on Kei's cheek, "But if you think I will let your grandpa go through with that deal you're mistaken."

Kei's eyes widened, "I made the deal with my grandpa. You aren't allowed to mess with it. If you do, I'll tell your old friend that my engagement is off with his grandson."

Keishin laughed, "Is that right? Well let's see how your deal goes then." He ruffled his hair, "But let me make this clear Kei, you will marry Tetsuro. Like it or not." He threatened before he left.

Kei glared at his grandfather before heading inside the mansion. 'If I run away, where would I go?'

"Kei, maybe you should return to the others." Tadashi said as he walked over to him.

Kei froze as he looked at Tadashi. "You. Don't come near me. I can't believe you lied to me all this time. I trusted you."

"Kei I know I lied but I'm still your friend. I still care about you." Tadashi said as he stood in front of him.

"Bullshit. You could have told me when we were kids. You could have said something, but you didn't. You just lied and lied. Was your confession a lie too?" Kei said angrily as he glared at him.

"No, no I do like you Kei. I really do. I wish I could have said something. I wish I could be the one with you, but…your father would have never allowed it. I was content being by your side. I do love-" Tadashi was cut off by Kei slapping him.

"Dont. Don't you ever say you love me. You never loved me." Kei glared at him as tears threatened to fall. "I loved you Tadashi. I had plans to go live with you. To start a life with you. We talked about traveling together and even kissed at our graduation. But it was all a lie." He sniffled as he wiped his tears away. "You never loved me."

"No that's not true I do. I do love you. I can't be with you. Kei please if I could just explain." Tadashi tried to hold his hand but Kei pulled away.

"Leave! Get out of my sight now! You're my bodyguard right? So you follow my orders, GET OUT OF MY SIGHT." Kei yelled, which surprised Tadashi.

Tadashi gulped but nodded as he looked down. "Yes Kei." He bowed before he walked away.

Kei shook his head as he tried to stop his tears from flowing. "Why? Why can't I just leave?"
