Legosi

I hope you slept okay after last night. Whoever was setting those off was an idiot.

If you don't feel well enough to go to work today I understand. As for me, the school contacted me and they need me to come in and fill out more papers for withdrawing or else they're going to Oguma, which I'm obviously going to avoid.

I'm sorry this is such short notice, but I needed to take care of this and I didn't want to wake you up after the night you had. I'll see you later tonight. I love you.

-Louis

Legosi lost count how many times he read the note. He wasn't sure if he had been watching too many movies or what, but he kept trying to find some sort of code in it all. It stank to high heaven in terms of fishiness, but Legosi wanted to trust Louis.

But as more time passed without a reply to the 'good morning' text Legosi sent, the more he realized he couldn't just put trust in the deer. He had already called in to work claiming insomnia so he could be home in case anything happened. And that's how he found himself pacing around the apartment, fully dressed, with the two sides of his mind at war with each other.

If he went out to look for Louis but Louis was telling the truth, then he would have an upset deer on his hands.

If he stayed home and Louis was in trouble, then he might have a dead deer on his hands.

Thinking about it that way, Legosi marched toward the door and swung it open, and he jumped when he saw a suit-clad lion with his fist raised to knock standing there.

"Legosi!" the feline greeted before he wasted no time invading Legosi's personal space. "How you doin?"

Legosi screwed his eyes shut and tried to search his mind for the name of this particular lion. Squinty eyes, scar over one of them, pompadour…

"Free? What's going on?"

Free wrapped an arm around Legosi's shoulder and lead him out. "Well, y'see, it's Louis. He needs our help."

Legosi felt a scowl form on his face. "I knew it."

Free cocked his head at him for a second before his mouth hung open in what seemed to be utter disappointment. "Aw, no… did… fuckin Boss!"

Legosi started walking, shaking the lion off in the process, and asked, "What is it?"

"He didn't tell you what he was goin out to do?"

"He left me a note saying he had to clear something up with his college."

Free clicked his tongue and looked off to the side. "Alright, when this is all over we're both gonna straighten him out, got it?"

Legosi sighed and started making his way downstairs. "Doesn't sound like a bad idea right now."

Free soon caught up, causing Legosi to start descending the steps three at a time, which the feline easily kept up with.

Legosi turned back to him once they were on the ground floor. "Is he going after Melon? How did you leave the hideout without him knowing?"

"Well, that'd be on account of the bastard not showing his ugly face for a week."

"So Yahya's sources were right. He really has disappeared..." Legosi scratched at his chin as he mumbled to himself, prompting Free to shove him.

"Hey, speak up!"

"Do you have any idea where Louis might have gone, then?"

The lion shook his head, his permanently squinted eyes unmoving as his pompadour bobbed. "No clue. He left the hideout in a hurry. I was kinda hopin you had some ideas."

"Wherever Melon might be." Legosi went quiet and held his chin, thinking. He felt surprisingly calm, even as different parts of his mind were ringing alarms in his ears. Louis was a smart animal, and he knew his way around the market better than anyone. Plus part of Legosi was expecting this anyway. In fact, Louis beat him to the punch, since he himself had countless plans bouncing around his skull of how to sneak away alone and find the hybrid.

And that's why the part of his mind fuming and sputtering unsaid expletives at his dear Louis didn't hold the power it could have. Would it not have been entirely hypocritical to be angry, after all?

Legosi and Free left the condo and immediately climbed into the car the lion brought. Legosi wondered how many animals saw the distinct, old model of car and gave it a wide berth. He hoped it wouldn't give the Hidden Condo an even worse reputation, but of course there were more important matters at hand now.

Legosi sat down and buckled his seat belt. "So, are we going to the market?"

"We'll start there. What was that about Yahya earlier?"

"Yahya's sources haven't seen Melon for a while. It might be tough to find him, then."

Free snorted as he started the car. "That bastard doesn't know anything about Melon or the market. All he knows how to do is beat up impoverished carnivores and haul them off to god knows where."

Legosi swallowed and held his arms close to his chest. He could still taste those carrots every time he thought about them.

"So, why are you here, Free? Louis didn't want me to find out about this."

The car peeled out way faster than a car parked by a curb should, with its reckless driver lighting a cigarette while driving straight ahead. "Well, Louis said we should help back him up, so I thought I'd come get ya. Shouldn't have been surprised that you didn't know, I guess."

Legosi looked out the window. "I guess."

The wolf could see the lion do a double take at him from his peripheral. "Say, uh, this ain't gonna tarnish what you two got goin on, is it?"

"No. I'm sure it won't. It can't."

"Heh, good! You're good for the boss."

Legosi reached instinctively for something to hold on to as Free whipped around a corner, but since the car was so old it didn't have any handles, sending him into the door. Free didn't notice. "Y'know, the night he left us, I told him to never come back, or I'd eat him. Glad that's one thing I didn't keep my promise on."

"Me too."

"Yeah, kid, but my point is this sort of life ain't for him." Another hard turn. "Melon roped him back into all this but when it's over you pull him away, got it?"

Legosi gathered his bearings and answered, "Of course. It's what I want, too. I kept trying to get him to leave when he was your boss, anyway."

"Heh, yeah! Haruo the masochist! Sorry for that beating, by the way."

"I've gotten worse."

Free turned to give him a blank yet sad look. "Nobody your age should be sayin that."

Legosi just shrugged, his mind trying to find places Melon could be.

"Say, back then, did you, y'know…"

"Did I what?"

"Didja like boss like you do now?"

Legosi placed his hands on his knees and looked straight ahead. After a breath, he responded, "I did. I didn't realize at the time, though. I was completely committed to Haru, the girl you kidnapped, at that time."

"Hoo, awkwaaaard."

"So, any feelings I had for Louis at the time were… masked, I guess," Legosi continued. "All I know is when I had him in my arms that night, my instincts were screaming at me. Not to eat, but to protect. To just, pick him up and carry him as far away from you guys as possible."

"You got a gun to the back of the head instead," Free noted. "Well, for what it's worth, I'm really glad we didn't shoot ya."

That comment managed to coax a smile from the wolf. "Me too."

It didn't take too long before Free took a turn into a narrow alley and soon emerged onto one of the market's streets. Even though it was daytime, many animals crowded the streets, seemingly all going one direction.

"Aye, what the fuck?" Free honked the horn a few times, which thankfully dispelled the group enough to pass through. "Now that's weird."

Legosi turned his head to look at the animals when he caught something over the sound of the engine.

"Shit." Free seemed to have heard it too, for he lowered the windows to get a clearer listen.

"Carnivores of the market! The time has come to integrate into society with our ideals! Please come and see me usher in our new era at the old seaport! I have an animal with me you might recognize."

A painful lump formed in Legosi's throat. No doubt about it. That voice was-

Free's phone rang and he quickly answered it. "Dope, what's going on?"

A clawed thumb hit the speakerphone button to allow Legosi to hear. "It's Melon. He's broadcasting some sort of message all over the market."

"Yeah we hear it! What the fuck is he goin on about?"

"No clue, but we can only assume he has Louis."

Legosi's ears perked up. "We need to rescue him!"

Free pat his shoulder while Dope answered, "We know, but there's already hundreds of carnivores headed that way. More than a few will try and stop us, for sure."

"Maybe we can try and sneak?"

"Doubtful. Someone will see us, and we can't underestimate Melon."

Legosi took the phone from Free. "We can't just sit and wait! Call the police! Or the Beastar!"

"Kid, you know who you're fuckin talkin to?" Free sneered. "Number one: those fuckers would likely throw us in the slammer before Melon! Two: they're likely not even gonna come back here cuz they just leave the alley to Yahya. And three: we don't wanna fuckin deal with the Black fuckin Devil!"

Legosi was fuming after being subjected to Free's condescending words. "Louis is important! They have to do something!" At that moment, his eyes went wide and his ears rose.

Free lowered his previous offensive. "What is it?"

"I know who to go to."

A large buck sat at his desk while thumbing through an endless cavalcade of files. For the first time he could remember in his entire career, Oguma was unable to focus on them.

It had been one week, two days, fourteen hours, and seventeen minutes since Louis stormed out from their dinner meeting. He had withdrawn his men from searching for him, knowing he'd come back eventually, but with each passing day his thoughts grew more troubled.

He gazed upon a framed photo of his son from a few years ago, just before he set off for Cherryton. So young and promising.

Where did it all go wrong? Before his stint with the Shishigumi, everything seemed fine. The monthly dinners didn't bring up anything noteworthy, and neither did talks with Azuki's father.

The Shishigumi incident was truly the first ripple, according to his calculations. So where did this wolf fit in? Looking up the student records did show a gray wolf named Legosi in the drama club who dropped out shortly before Louis graduated. Around the time he ate Louis's leg.

The wolf was never mentioned before. Of course, he would have never been relevant. His only relevance was the devouring. Oguma's mind had been cycling with this thought over and over with no concrete conclusions for days. He wanted to believe his son was simply sick; manipulated by some carnivore who used him for a quick snack.

But no. Carnivores didn't leave jobs half done. Devouring victims who survive do so only because the culprit is interrupted. And that's what the reports said regarding Louis. Even digging deeper, Oguma found no lingering threads of a different story. It all pointed to that grizzly bear.

But no. Louis's reaction at the dinner table proved that the wolf ate it. Louis stated that Oguma didn't understand the situation, but then stormed out before he could explain it. He had become so emotional in recent years.

So once again, Oguma came to conclusions he already knew: Louis has a wolf friend, or rather, more than a friend, who ate his leg, and that that event wasn't as cut and dry as it seemed.

Oguma set the files down and rubbed his temples. Unknowns were always hard. They were puzzles to be solved, and usually he had no trouble. This was seemingly one he couldn't solve on his own.

"Oguma-sama?"

The buck quickly recovered and turned to see his personal butler peeking in. Yuta's small eyes were blown out, and his wool unkempt.

"Yes, Yuta?" Oguma got to work straightening the papers on his desk.

"There are some… carnivores outside the gate. We've tried to send them away, even had security try and throw them out, but they're insistent they speak with you." The old sheep fussed with his hands and looked down. "I just thought you should know. I didn't mean to bother you while you're so busy."

"Thank you, Yuta." Oguma stood up and stretched. He needed a distraction anyway. "I want to see these 'guests' myself."

Yuta accompanied him to the security room where the camera feeds were visible. The security officer inside already had the front entrance cameras up, showing multiple angles of the area just outside the front gate.

"What do you make of them, sir?" the officer asked, but Oguma just stared, for the two animals standing there, seemingly arguing with the guards at the gate, miraculously tied into his previous thoughts of his son.

Or perhaps it wasn't a miracle at all. Perhaps it all made sense.

"Tell that lion and wolf I'll be down," Oguma ordered as he turned heel and walked out.

"Yes, sir."

Yuta soon scurried up behind him. "I will come with you, Oguma-sama. The security outside will keep you safe."

"Of course." Oguma brought his hand up near his chest where his sidearm was holstered, feeling the solid piece. Even without Yuta's assurance he knew what his staff's job was.

More guards stood by the entrance doors. It seemed the place was slowly going on alert. All for two animals. Or perhaps because their president deemed it necessary to go and see them in person.

He opened the wide doors and stepped confidently down the stairs. He kept his gaze forward, meeting the carnivore guests the whole time. The lion seemed to bounce up and down slightly at the sight of him, while the wolf just looked terrified.

"Oi! Oi! He's comin!" The lion's mane bounced with him atop his head. "Guess it wasn't such a long shot after all, Legosi!"

Oguma felt a jolt through his body at the name, but he kept walking. His attention fixated solely on the wolf. Young, gray and cream fur slightly messy, various scars about his body, and odd looking eyes that were simultaneously harmless and piercing.

Legosi bowed once Oguma was at the gate, and his companion followed the action reluctantly.

"Oguma-san," the wolf spoke. His voice was steady, deep, but held many anxieties. Louis would have never sent him here, or his lion lackey for that matter. The prospect that Oguma may have driven his son back into the claws of the Shishigumi crossed his mind in that moment.

"My name is Legosi," he continued. "This… is Free. We're here because Louis, your son, is in trouble."

Oguma sensed the change in energy from the guards flanking him. Perhaps they felt something similar from him.

"Perhaps we should discuss this inside," the old stag suggested, but Legosi shook his head frantically.

"There's no time! He's been kidnapped!"

Now the animals around him grew tense. Oguma turned his face downward slightly so his eyes burned above the lenses of his glasses. "Who has him?"

This time, Free spoke while putting a hand on Legosi's soldier. "The Shishigumi's current boss: Melon. He's got him captive and is rallying a whole bunch of carnivores from the market to a warehouse by the docks! Doesn't sound good."

"Are you not part of the Shishigumi as well?" Oguma asked with an unwavering voice.

"I am, but none of us our loyal to Melon."

"Are you loyal to my son, then?"

Both animals flinched before Free nodded. "Yes. But it's just nine of us against almost all of the market."

"We couldn't go to the police or the Beastar," Legosi explained. His eyes now looked almost pleading. "You… were the last one I could think of."

"We've never met," Oguma stated.

"No, but Louis is your son! He's going to die!" Now, Legosi seemed to crack. His voice broke and his eyes were wet. His insistence bled into Oguma, as he suddenly started to feel the urgency of the situation.

"Then come inside. We need to plan." With a gesture, Oguma had the gate open and his guards surrounded him. He turned to walk back to the Horns building and the carnivores did the same.

"Yuta, take messages and cancel my meetings for the day."

"Yes, sir."

"Hammond."

A buck security guard with dark fur and tired eyes answered, "Yes, sir?"

"Assemble the team by the vault. We're using it."

Hammond swallowed hard, but nodded nonetheless. "Got it." He detached from the group and went on ahead.

"Gee, that isn't ominous at all," Free muttered to Legosi. Oguma chose to ignore it. The relationship he was forming with these two had value in getting his son back. There was no reason to intentionally sully it yet.

Except he had to know.

"Legosi," Oguma spoke as they passed through the doors. "What is your relation to my son?"

The wolf stumbled, as seemed consistent with his personality so far. He was meek despite his appearance, and likely unable to voice his true intentions.

"Want me to tell him?" Free offered quietly, but Legosi managed to wave him off.

"I… I love him, Oguma-san. I'd do anything for him to be safe. I hate that I don't know where he is, or that I'm not with him."

Oguma tried not to show the surprise he felt. He searched Legosi for any tells, but he truly was a simple creature, wearing all of his emotions on his sleeve.

"And what of his leg?"

Oguma was certainly surprised when Legosi stopped and immediately dropped to his knees.

"There's nothing I can ever do to atone for what I did to your son." The wolf bowed with his forehead pressed against the floor. "Not a day goes by that I don't regret what I did, but he wouldn't have had it any other way. He saved my life. He gave his leg to me so I could fend off the classmate that killed one of our club members. His leg is what brought me back from near death to fight. I know it sounds absurd, but you can ask him when we see him."

"Wait, you ate his leg?" Free's question went ignored as Oguma tried to size up the canine currently submitting to him.

"He saved me. He's always saved me. I don't deserve him but he's stuck with me. So please, Oguma-san." Legosi's head whipped up and the determination was clear in his voice and expression. "Please let me save him this time! Help me save him."

Oguma felt a pang in his chest, and he was compelled to hold his hand out. "Get up."

Legosi took his hand, gently. Did he hold Louis's hand that way? Surely he could sense that Oguma's hand was much sturdier than his slight-built son.

Free continued to speak while they started to trek again. "I mean, we all just kinda ignored the leg, but we thought it'd be rude to ask!"

"How did this man get his hands on him?" Oguma asked Legosi.

"It's a long story. We're not exactly sure why he has him, either."

"Most likely due to him being our former boss," Free chimed in. "Also, Louis had set out to kill him."

Oguma felt something when he heard that. Not something he could put his finger on, though. "I thought he was no longer involved with your group."

"He ain't. Well, not officially."

"It's my fault," Legosi quickly offered, bowing his head and exposing the back of his neck. "Melon… hurt me and Louis thinks he needs to take care of it."

Free smacked the wolf on the back of his head. "Hey, don't you say that! That bastard is the only one to blame here." The lion grew quiet and looked away, then. "Besides, Louis was upset by the way he treated us as well."

Oguma simply listened and nodded. "So you say he clashed with this man and was captured?"

"Must be what happened. Do you have a plan?"

Oguma nodded to Free as they set off again. "Indeed. Have your men gotten a lay of the land?

"They're working on it," Free confirmed.

"Good. Share their findings as soon as you can."

"Is your security really that prepared?" Free's tone was incredulous. Typical of a carnivore to underestimate herbivores.

"I'm one of the richest men in the country," the stag stated plainly, subtly gesturing to the vast architecture around them. "I'm prepared for anything."

Free didn't look convinced. "And you're okay with not goin to the police or Yahya?"

"It would be best to handle this ourselves and not let the media get involved," Oguma concluded. "And I know your self interests as a back alley criminal organization won't have it any other way."

"Oguma-san, please."

Oguma looked to his right and saw Legosi was now keeping pace with him, separated only by one of his guards. "Yes?"

"Tell us what you have planned."

As it turned out, the "vault" was a locked room in the basement full of armaments, field communication equipment, body armor, and countless other things.

"Holy shit," Free breathed, no smartassery present in his voice for once. Oguma picked up on this and responded quickly.

"Any responsible herbivore should carry a personal weapon. I have many herbivores under my employment, as well as the resources to arm them. This is all within calculations."

"Explains the boss, er, your son, then."

"Of course." Oguma turned to face them as his security force started to gear up. "Louis started on the range at a young age so no carnivore would pose a threat to him." His narrow eyes flitted to Legosi for a moment. "It's unfortunate he was kidnapped, but we'll get him out."

Legosi wanted to speak, but Free's phone rang at that moment. Once the Shishigumi relayed the area around the warehouse to Free, Hammond and Oguma got to work. They were able to quickly bring up the floor plans of the building as well as all the outdoor features, too. Because of the time sensitive nature of the situation, they couldn't think of a complex, foolproof plan, but it would have to do.

The Shishigumi reported that carnivores were gathering outside the large door of the warehouse, but it was still shut. The warehouse also had elevated windows, which Hammond determined to be their entry point after a few flashbangs were tossed in.

The Shishigumi volunteered to keep the perimeter clear while keeping a low profile, taking out any animals that might be keeping watch for Melon. Soon, Hammond got frustrated with having Free as a go between in communication so he started to talk with Dolph directly, who took charge on the Shishigumi side.

Legosi tried to pay attention, but his concern for Louis was clouding his thoughts. He shifted uncomfortably in the new clothes he was wearing: black, bulky material that matched with the rest of the security members in the room, who were all deer. Free was also given an outfit, but he soon shed most of the extraneous mass, claiming that felines needed to be light on their feet. The body armor made Legosi feel safe, but the weight did slow him down a bit. They offered him a gun, which he firmly refused. After they were all suited up, everyone was sprayed with a substance to mask their scents, something that threw Legosi off considerably.

Oguma had stepped away after the plan had been discussed, leaving Free and Legosi to follow Hammond and the team back upstairs and into a garage where two unmarked armored vehicles sat. All of the bucks did a once over, securing their gear and weaponry before piling into the vehicles. Legosi and Free stood by a bit uselessly, unsure of which one to get into.

Hammond soon remedied this by beckoning them to the back of the van he was in. "Oguma-sama will be riding with us, so no funny business."

Legosi perked up. "He's coming along?"

"Indeed."

The carnivores met squinted eyes behind glasses once more, only this time they belonged to an animal they barely recognized. It was clear his frame was larger than Louis's (not a hard feat), but the suit he wore earlier did not betray the well trained and powerful body underneath, now in clear view as Oguma sported the same outfit as the rest of them. He climbed in, sitting across from Legosi, and soon after they departed.

The lack of windows was unnerving to Legosi, giving them no indication as to how close they were, and between thinking about the trouble Louis could be in and his father more or less glaring at him, the wolf was a nervous wreck. He bounced his leg up and down erratically, trying to focus his attention on whatever information Dolph might be giving Hammond.

From what he could glean, the crowd outside of the building was only growing larger, and a few carnivores started to patrol the area. The Shishigumi kept tabs on them.

"Calm yourself."

Oguma's deep voice cut through Legosi's scattered thoughts. Once he had his attention, he kept speaking.

"You need to keep a clear mind for this or you'll do more harm than good."

Legosi clenched his fists. "And how are you so calm? Your son has just been kidnapped!" The fit of rage passed as quickly as it came, and he bowed his head and offered apologies.

"I am calm because I need to be. Nothing more."

"You seen action like this before," Free stated. "I can tell."

"That's irrelevant to the conversation."

"Is it not? You're some big wig CEO who has no qualms storming a building full of carnivores!"

Oguma rolled his shoulders and stretched his large arms. "As I've said, responsible herbivores prepare themselves. I've had many, many years to prepare for situations like this."

Legosi still couldn't believe his eyes and ears. Everything he had heard from Louis about his father was entirely mismatched. How could the stag in front of him be the same animal?

Hammond, who was clearly avoiding the conversation, got another call from Dolph.

"The door is opening?" His eyes met everyone's in the small cabin as he spoke. "Alright. According to GPS we're almost here. Hang tight and we'll rendezvous. Now would be a good time to take out any of those patrolling carnivores."

Legosi's heart jumped. He had no qualms fighting, but knowing Louis's life laid in the balance threw everything off. The animal that almost succeeded in killing him being there as well didn't do him any favors.

He had to know if Louis was safe. If he was safe and out of the way, all would be well. He'd fought before. He just had to know.

The transport suddenly stopped and the hatch opened, allowing the bright summer sun to pour in. Everyone piled out and Legosi squinted, spotting the docks just a few hundred meters ahead of them. The warehouse's entrance wasn't facing them, but it was clear from there that the mass of animals that had been gathered outside were no longer there. Instead, a lone lion in a black suit emerged from some foliage and beckoned them forward.

The lion, who turned out to be Sabu, greeted them with a nod. "Damn, you weren't kidding about the backup, Free. Looks like you joined them too, huh? Good riddance I say."

Free looked down at his missing Shishigumi suit and waved him off. "Fuck off."

Sabu then turned to Legosi and nodded. "Good to see you."

"Yeah," Legosi answered, hollowly.

The group followed the masked lion deeper into the vegetation, where the rest of the Shishigumi were squatting around five bound and gagged carnivores, all bruised and unconscious.

"Here's your pitiful excuse for security for this thing. Melon might be influential, but his followers are still blind fanatics." Dope moved forward to shake Oguma's hand. "They don't have proper training so it wasn't hard. Pleasure to meet you, Oguma-san."

Oguma just let out a deep 'hmph' and looked toward the warehouse. "So what's the situation inside?"

Dolph stepped forward this time. "The door opened just a bit ago. Shortly after that, Melon started making a sort of speech. You can hear him if you listen. I recommend we move ASAP."

"Agreed." Oguma turned to his men and indicated the building ahead of them. "Let's go. You lions stay outside and make sure nobody else gets in."

Without prompt, Legosi followed the herbivores.

"Oguma-san, let me come with you."

Oguma regarded him with narrow eyes for a moment before he simply continued forward. It wasn't a 'no', so Legosi followed.

"The heavier flashbangs should be able to break the windows," one of Oguma's security said. "The glass is old and thin. Then we follow the plan as we discussed."

Hammond nodded and turned to Oguma. "I'd try and convince you to stay here, sir, but I'm not sure that's possible."

Oguma shook his head and the other buck sighed. He then peered behind his boss at Legosi. "What about him?"

"He's with me."

"Got it."

With great precision, the deer threw grappling hooks up to the roof where they latched onto some equipment. As soon as they were secure, they began their climb. Oguma went up ahead of Legosi, and the wolf followed once enough room was available.

It hit Legosi again just how surreal the situation was. Oguma, who he knew has caused Louis so much grief in his life, was right in front of him, helping him in Louis's rescue. The roars and cheers inside made him dizzy.

Legosi grunted with exertion as he pulled himself up on the roof while Oguma pulled the rope up after them. He noted they were just above one of the windows, where the sound from inside radiated outward.

"I may be part herbivore, but I am also carnivore! My herbivore genes tell me what society is afraid to say: that herbivores are made to be eaten by carnivores!"

A shiver ran down Legosi's spine. Definitely Melon, and he was close to that window.

Oguma pressed a finger to his ear, and he looked pointedly at Legosi.

"They're going to be throwing flashbangs through the windows. After they go off, we'll swing in through the window with the ropes." He then stood up and grabbed said rope, stepping off the ledge and planting his feet directly above the window and hanging onto the rope to keep himself from falling. "Use this same rope once I'm in. Follow my form."

Legosi swallowed and nodded. "Got it, sir."

Everything was still for a moment, and the cheering from inside died down again, giving Melon opportunity to speak once more.

"You all have been so patient with me! Waiting for me to deliver my vision of society! And this animal here, Louis the red deer, he represents all that is wrong with it now! The spilling of his blood will open the floodgates!"

The blood inside of Legosi started to burn. His muscles ached. They had to go, now. To his relief, the grenades were quickly thrown. The sound of breaking glass was soon followed up by loud bangs and the sounds of countless carnivores shouting and groaning. Legosi looked over to Oguma only to see those large antlers disappear below the edge of the roof. He quickly grabbed the rope once Oguma let go and positioned himself similarly.

Here I come, Louis.
