Chapter Ten

Lead to a Homecoming

Days. Weeks. Months. That was how long Diana waited.

Time felt longer than usual. An hour now felt like two hours, and a day felt like a week. Diana kept herself sane only with one thought: Harry would return.

Diana couldn't help but be annoyed at Ginny. Ginny seemed to be annoyed at the prospect of Harry and Ron coming home.

"Enjoy the free time you have!" complained Ginny. "They won't be back for a while.

Diana bit her lip. It was, after all, only mid April, but Harry's return still seemed a lot closer at this side of the year.

To pass time, Diana introduced Ginny and Colin.

"Ginny, meet Colin," she said. "Colin, meet Ginny."

Colin and Ginny shook hands politely.

"Nice to meet another friend of Diana's," Ginny said.

"Agreed," Colin answered.

Though it was a little awkward at first, Colin and Ginny became best friends. Together the two of them (and Diana) would spend hours near either Ginny or Colin's house (both of them knew that Diana's house was absolutely off-limits.)

Diana considered the idea of telling Colin about magic, but Ginny stopped her.

"He could be Muggle," she warned her. "It's illegal to tell Muggles about magic. We'll just have to wait for his eleventh birthday."

"That's mid-June," Diana told Ginny. "We'll just have to wait until then."

Mid-June came. Diana didn't realise that Colin knew until he came into school looking shell shocked.

"I know why strange things happen now," Colin told Diana.

"You're a wizard," she said. "And I'm a witch."

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked.

"Colin, it would be illegal," said Diana. "Muggles can't know, and you might've been a Muggle. Ginny told me. She a witch too, by the way."

Colin's eyes brightened. "I just realised. You and Ginny will be with me at Hogwarts! I won't be alone!"

Diana's excitement for Hogwarts came forward again, and she started to jump up in the air in excitement. Excitement was a wonderful feeling.

Diana soon became restless. She put up sticky notes on her room, counting down the days until Harry came back.

Fifteen days. Fourteen days. Thirteen days, twelve days...

... three days, two days, one day...

The night before Harry came back, Diana couldn't sleep. She kept checking the clock for the time, and writing it down on the sticky note.

Thirteen hours and eight minutes. Thirteen hours and seven minutes...

Soon, she fell asleep with a note saying 'Twelve hours and sixteen minutes.'

When Diana checked the clock, she saw it was 11:32 am. She grabbed a sticky note.

Five hours and twenty-eight minutes.

Diana spent several hours fidgeting and ran around. Finally, she looked at the clock. It was half four.

Half an hour!

Diana packed up the little sticky notes she had, and walked into the kitchen.

"Mum, I'm going to get Harry!" she called.

Petunia looked at her and muttered, "Well, someone had too do it. Off you go!"

Diana pretended she didn't hear that first comment, and left the house with sticky notes, a watch, and five pounds.

The train ride to King's Cross was long and slow(or at least it wasto Diana), but the train finally got there.

Diana rushed off the train and checked her watch. She pulled out another sticky note.

A minute and a half!

Diana ran to platforms nine and ten, and ran through the barrier. She made it just in time.

Harry was wandering the platform, looking for her. Diana ran toward him.

"Hi!" was all she could say. She showed him the sticky notes she used.

"You didn't use all your sticky notes, did you?" enquired Harry.

"Well, I've only got a few left," admitted Diana.

Harry laughed. "Show me the rest at Privet Drive."

Diana smiled. It was great to have Harry back.
