Hi guys. It's been uh. 4 years since I updated this story. Wow. To those expecting a new chapter, I'm really sorry, I'm just writing this to update y'all on some things.

It's been a really long time since I've written any fanfiction for anything, since I've been focusing more on my own original content. Because of that, I'm out-of-touch with the current Spirit Animals franchise (are they even publishing any more new books?)... and honestly, I've also grown out of it. Believe me, I still do like it, but I'm no longer as obsessed with it as I used to be when I was more active on here. Life has also been quite difficult these days, so I haven't been able to write as much as I want to. Back in 2017 when I last stopped and even now, I've been struggling with motivation and inspiration for a while now, so I really apologise for this absurd 4 year hiatus.

Speaking of writing, my writing style has... changed somewhat. While reading through the old chapters I've written for this story to refresh my memory of what's happening so far, I kept cringing at all the flaws in the plot's flow, the structure, the writing itself... Man. The number of weird things hashed together is incredible. Also the OC I made for this story, Lina... oh my god girl are you a Mary Sue. Why can you do everything. I'm.

I've read the actual fourth book by the way, The Burning Tide. So I more or less know about the actual summoner of Mulop, Niri, as well as how the whole Wyrm arc ends which is... not that different from what I had originally planned? Or maybe kind of different. I honestly need to refresh my memory on the whole Spirit Animals setting and plot haha. It was hella funky, from what I remember. Well. Either way, even though I dislike my writing in this story, younger me actually had some interesting stuff going on, especially with Conor, my favourite character in the series. So like.

I'll probably rewrite this story.

Yeah. I'll continue this story, revamp it and everything. Maybe. Honestly, back in 2017, younger me considered this story one of the best things I had ever written before, so I suppose that says something. I am vaguely attached to this story in some strange way, even more so because many of you enjoyed it. Thanks for the support.

I can't say when I'll start rewriting it because I need some time (or a lot of time) to get back into the flow of things, i.e remembering what the plot was all about and structuring it properly, brushing up my writing skills again because dear god I'm rusty, and reading Spirit Animals again. It'll probably take a long time. But I'm pretty keen on picking this story up again, and seeing it through to the end for real this time.

It's been a long time and Spirit Animals is probably hella outdated by now, but whatever. I do what I want. So yes, that's all I have to say for now.

I can't give a definite answer as to when I'll randomly pop in again and start writing since life has been hectic for me in a lot of ways, but just know I haven't given up on this yet. Thanks so much for the support.

See y'all. I'll be back soon.
