Author's Note: I'm really sorry for this chapter's delay, had some problems, and mainly, being unmotivated, if you see a chapter is taking too long, most likely it's due to this.
Ciao, Portorosso!
After setting her destination on the map, Kairi started the trip towards Portorosso, the Heartless Ships on the path were akin to flying boats and ships, which threw sharp long projectiles that looked like harpoons, she dodged the projectiles as she destroyed the ships, quickly getting close to the new world.
But when she was reaching the entrance, Kairi heard something big close, the princess looked towards that direction… and saw a big cruise ship flying through space and approaching her Gummi.
"Huh, no, I would like a cruise trip, but not a Heartless cruise trip!" Kairi said from her ship.
The cruise pointed cannons that it had on a side, as on board were Harpooner Heartless, wearing black and blue scuba suits, and a fish face with teeth behind the helmet, sharp harpoons in their hands.
Information: Defeat the Displeasure Ship!
The Cruise fired its cannons, as the Harpooners threw their weapons, Kairi's ship dodged the cannonballs and blasted the harpoons, and began to aim her shots towards the cannons. After some time, many cannons are destroyed, so the cruise swaps sides to now attack with cannons in the other side, though those fired big bubbles that made pretty decently sized water explosions when in proximity to Kairi's ship, some of those bubbles catching her off guard as she didn't expect the explosions.
Kairi began to destroy the bubble cannons too as the Heartless kept throwing their harpoons, after the cannons were destroyed, Kairi aimed to the ship's board to destroy some of the Heartless.
Then, the cruise actually faced Kairi, showing her its front… and suddenly, the big ship rammed towards her. Kairi's ship rolled to a side, barely dodging it, as she began to attack the cruise's front, as holes opened there, from which came quick lasers. Kairi managed to dodge a good amount of them, and kept blasting the front, until finally, the cruise exploded, and fell down, crashing on a big meteor.
With the big Heartless ship out of the way, Kairi finally got close to her destination, the world had a big sea, with a coastal town next to it, and at some distance from the town, a small island with a tower, so she touched the button to teleport into the world.
Next thing Kairi felt… she was literally deep underwater, out of instinct, she panicked a bit due to that being unexpected… until she looked at her hands, and noticed pink scales covering it, and webbed hands, noticing that she transformed for this world, she looked at the rest of her body, and made a surprised sound, pink and some black scales, webbed feet, a long tail… Kairi still kept her clothes, then she touched her ears and hair, and apparently they turned into soft… fins?
There were some bubbles around, and Kairi used them to see her face's reflection, which was on line with the rest of her body.
"Wow… I'm a sea creature! I remember Sora's, Donald's and Goofy's forms in Atlantica, but I'd say this is better… I look pretty cute, I wish Sora could see me now." Kairi said to herself.
Kairi began to practice her swimming, and found out that apparently, transformations comes with basic knowledge on how to move in that body.
"I have done my fair amount of swimming back in the islands… but never really like this, and with a tail." Kairi says.
After practicing, she began to look around, she saw from her Gummi how this world had a town and islands, but she was curious to explore underwater.
On this world intro, it starts from the depths of the ocean and showing herds of fish swimming by. Then it starts to move up and closer to the surface, reaching it as a splash appears due to a boat, it shows the island and main town from afar, as harpoons falls from the sky and lands in the water, their splash making the name.
Portorosso.
It was really beautiful, and she found a good amount of chests with items, and a Moogle… with a diving suit despite being a hologram, the pom pom sticking from outside.
"Greetings, kupo!" Said the Moogle.
"Why do you have a diving suit, despite being a hologram?" Asked Kairi.
"Oh, it's simple, it makes me look more natural to the environment, I'm sure it will help for business, kupo!" Answerd the shopkeeper as if it was obvious.
"Ook… I'll do some stuff since I'm here." She said after some seconds.
Kairi thought she was fine right now in items, but she got some Blizzard and Water resistance armor as she felt that such elements might be common here, and synthed a Fang Pendant, which was from a Fang Recipe she got earlier, as it increases her strength a bit.
After leaving the Moogle and wandering around some more, not surprisingly, Heartless appeared, the Harpooners from before, alongside Jellyfish Heartless called Sea Neons.
"Very well, time to test this!" Kairi said, wielding her new Keyblade.
The Heartless swam towards her, but on this new form, Kairi was faster underwater, and circled around her enemies, somehow casting Fire while covered in water, and striking the Heartless.
The Sea Neons began to spin, and at the same time, the tip of the Harpooners weapons began to glow, as they fired a laser each. Laser Harpoons caught Kairi off guard, and after blocking the Neons, she got hit by some of the lasers.
"Okay, they got me, now… I hope I don't freeze the entire place." Kairi said as she casted Blizzard on the Heartless.
Luckily, it didn't freeze the whole environment, though the spell made a frost trail that hurt in contact, and many of the Heartless were frozen.
"Well, magic changed down here? That can be useful." Commented Kairi.
She then quickly swims towards the frozen Heartless, and strikes them with Sorcerer's Squire, after some attacks, she can feel her Keyblade's power, so she releases it.
The Keyblade hovers above her, as several beams of multiple colors appears and goes into the Key, and in a flash, it turned into a pretty big sword… made out of pure white colored magic, Kairi thought on Xemnas's lightsabers, but white and as a greatsword.
"So this is its Spellblade form…" The wielder said, looking at her new magic sword.
She began to attack her foes with it, despite the size, it was very light, allowing fast attacks, Kairi did a combo with several horizontal slashes, then, for the combo finisher, half a dozen of smaller white magic swords appeared and quickly passed through the enemy.
"Now, with this being "Spellblade", it's magic should be really good." Thought Kairi.
She casted Blizzard… and suddenly, the blade went from White to Light Blue, as some magic snowflakes came from it too.
"What…? Does my magic changes the element of the blade?" She asked, curious.
She began to strike again, and noticed how Spellblade seemed to change her Style, as now her hits were slower, but quite strong, and the combo Finisher changed, now with 4 Crystals appearing around Kairi, and then explode.
"This Is really interesting… though it also felt like using Blizzard took far more of my mana than usual." She commented.
Spellblade: Infuse this Magic Blade with different elements, to give it different properties and attacks. Magic requires more MP than usual, and you can quickly change the infusion by just casting another spell.
Kairi dodged some of the Heartless attacks, and used an Ether so her magic won't run out the next infusion, as she tries Thunder.
The Spellblade turns yellow, with several sparks coming from it, and Kairi sees how her hits are far faster, doing some flips and spinning too, and the combo finisher ended on Kairi making an orb of electricity above her, which released waves that shocked foes in a circle around it.
More Heartless spawned, but Kairi could feel the full energy of the Formchange, and released it for the Finisher: the magic blade grew to a pretty massive size, and Kairi did several quick slashes, each slash changing its element and color, and then end off with a final downwards slash, destroying the enemies.
"I must say, I really like this new Keyblade." The sea creature princess said as it returned back to normal.
Kairi kept swimming, on the distance, she believed that she saw some underwater houses, and went towards that direction.
She obviously found some Heartless on the way, and decided to try this Keyblade's Shotlocks. She focused for just a bit on the enemies, building up energy, and then aimed upwards with her Keyblade, releasing several projectiles of multi colors, which rained from above over the Heartless, a Prism Shower.
With that destroying several of the enemies, on another group that was there, Kairi focused for more seconds, building up energy to the max on the Keyblade, and released it. 7 massive swords, each of a different color, appeared in a circle around the enemies, they aimed their tips to the Heartless group, and all of them fired a powerful beam at once, going through and destroying the Dark creatures.
After those small encounters, Kairi reached the Underwater Village, where she saw more sea creatures that looked like her current form, just going on with their lives, and then she saw two of the creatures approaching her, adults based on how they looked.
"Excuse us, I see that you just entered, have you seen our son, Luca on the way here? Younger than you, green scales…" Asked the blue one.
"Yeah, he is in a lot of trouble, and we need to send him to the depths of the ocean." Said the green one.
"Huh, no, I'm sorry, I have seen nobody on the way here." Apologized the wielder.
"Oh, ok, I guess that soon we'll have by ourselves… there." The female said with clear disdain.
"Yeah, he probably is in the surf-" Began to say the father, until the mother did a quick slap on his side with her long tail. "-Huh, it was good to see you, goodbye." He quickly said and then began to swim away, as his wife sighed and followed after.
"So their son disappeared… and I'm sure that he was going to say that Luca went to the surface. There's Heartless on this world, I must help find him, and fast." Kairi said in a determined tone, as she started to swim towards the smaller island.
She reached the shore, and then hoped that, since this Luca went to the surface, it meant she can stay outside the water, as she steps into the sand. Suddenly, Kairi felt something on her body, and looked at it, gasping as she saw the scales, fins and tail disappear, leaving the guardian on her usual human appearance.
"This… is a really interesting body feature." Kairi said as she looked around.
The island was not that big, and mostly went upwards, and she saw what looked like a small tower at the top, when she began to walk there, she found a chest by a side of the shore with a Map, which told her she was in Isola del Mare.
The island was pacific and she didn't see any Heartless, so she had a nice walk, picking up a few small items from chests in the way, and reached the tower, which was, quite in ruins, with some makeshift ladder.
"I really doubt Luca is here… but it's worth a try." Kairi said, quickly climbing the ladder, and reaching the top.
The first thing she saw was two boys, both with brown hair, and one taller than the other.
"Excuse me, is one of you, Luca?" Asked Kairi.
Both boys turned their heads and saw the girl, and kept staring, as the smaller kid slowly made some steps back.
