EPISODE 9: DIURNAL DISMAY
(Adapted from "The Day That Won't End")
We start this episode right off in the action. Instead of down in the Sanctum or at an exhibit at the zoo, at the Washi Residence, or even with a Harris flashback, we see our resident red ranger, Benny, fully morphed, inside his Eagle Zord's cockpit, holding up his Morpher, and yelling out…
Benny: Megazord Activate!
Hard cut to the Eagle, Shark, and Lion zords folding up and coming together.
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Zoo King Megazord! Ready!
We then hard cut to a shot of this week's monster (Adapted from the player 'Hanayaida'), who's alright giant, and looks like a mesh of black roots with giant red flowers placed on top of her shoulders. She's also holding a weird silver blade that looks like a watering can and a ripped-up transmission tower. Now the rangers don't know this character's name yet, but for the sake of convenience, I'm going to say it early. This is Rosebug.
Rosebug: Huh. A primary colored Megazord? Needs more flourish. Tell you what? You can have this! It'll accentuate the look!
(She sounds like Stormblade from 'Skylanders: Superchargers')
Mere moments after saying this, she throws the transmission tower right at the Zoo King Megazord, which ends up tangled in the tower's wires despite blocking it.
Rosebug: Hahaha! See? MUCH more beautiful!
Benny: Beautiful!? Oh please! I'll show you something beautiful!
The red ranger spins his command cube and with a push of the arms and blade, the Megazord cuts free in an instant.
Jackie: Let's end this!
This is of course said as she, Benny, and Caleb spin the Morpher tops to the animal side, and then plug them back into their Command Cubes, before cutting to a shot of the Zoo King Megazord waving its air in the air to charge up its sword's colorful finisher.
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Wild Final Strike!
Energy pours over them and launches out into their finisher before the sword makes three colorful energy slashes right through Rosebug.
Rosebug: Ah! Guess you got me right in the roots!
She falls to the ground and explodes as the Megazord turns around and poses over another successful victory.
But now things are about to get…a bit repetitive and weird.
We then hard cut back to the Sanctum where we see a shot of the Link Cube…as what can only be described as a yellow sparkle effect appears on the screen with a weird and subtle sound cue. This lasts for around just 2 seconds before we cut to the team teleporting in. Keep that effect in mind, we're not done with it.
Benny: Aliens, zero, animals, won!
Caleb: Ah, it's nice to get a battle done quickly, for once.
Winston: Yeah. I know we didn't do much, but I'm already getting a bit hungry.
Jackie: Well of course YOU are, big guy.
Caleb: Hey. What's say we have an early lunch?
Sylvia: Sounds good to me.
Winston: No arguments here.
Jackie: Yeah, sure. But, uh, before we do, wanna tell them our idea, Benny?
Benny: Oh yeah! I almost forgot. Jackie and I wanted to ask you guys if you were free for a trip to the beach later.
Sylvia: The beach? Ooh, that sounds great!
Caleb: Sure! I don't have any plans this afternoon.
Winston: I'll check to be sure, but would it be alright if I end up bringing the girls?
Benny: I don't see why not.
Jackie: Yeah, the more the merrier, dude.
Suddenly, their zords pop up from behind their backs and start making panicked noises at them.
Sylvia: Shoot! Monster attack!
Benny: (whips out her Morpher) Let's go!
Hard cut to a power station…with that sparkle effect as the team arrives, fully morphed and running forward, before coming to a stop.
Jackie: It's already giant!?
The camera then cuts to…Rosebug. Who's alive, giant "again", and ripping up an electrical tower.
Rosebug: Hmph. It's like an ugly steel flower!
Caleb: Well, what are we waiting for!
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Cubimals Go!
Of course, this is said as they whip out their zords, raise them into the air as they grow giant, and then let them take off. But then, as if this weren't giving off Déjà vu already, we hard cut to the same shot that started this episode off. Benny, fully morphed, inside his Eagle Zord's cockpit, holding up his Morpher, and yelling out…
Benny: Megazord Activate!

Jackie: Let's end this!
Déjà vu continues to ensue as she, Benny, and Caleb spin the Morpher tops to the animal side, and then plug them back into their Command Cubes, before cutting to a shot of the Zoo King Megazord waving its air in the air to charge up its sword's colored finisher.
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Wild Final Strike!
Energy pours over them and launches out into their finisher before the sword slashes right through Rosebug 3 times.
Rosebug: Ah! Guess you got me right in the roots!
She falls to the ground and explodes as the Megazord turns around and poses over another successful victory…for the second time today.
And once again, we cut down to a shot of the Link Cube, pixie dust effect over it again, as the team teleports back in.
Benny: Aliens, zero, animals, won!
Caleb: Ah, it's nice to get a battle done quickly, for once.
Winston: Yeah. I know we didn't do much, but I'm already getting a bit hungry.
Jackie: Well of course YOU are, big guy.
Caleb: Hey. What's say we have an early lunch?
Sylvia: Sounds good to me.
Winston: No arguments here.
Jackie: Yeah, sure. But, uh, before we do, wanna tell them our idea, Benny?

Sylvia: The beach? Ooh, that sounds great!

This time, however, while all of that dialog plays out the same, we add in some new dialog as Jackie's face goes from smiling to confused…and starts hearing what sounds like a mix between a buzzing drill, and some kind of animal noise, which we will be referring to as a "drilling scream". She focuses her ears listening for it, but…nothing.
Jackie: What was THAT?
Benny: Huh? W-What do you mean?
Jackie: Didn't you hear that?... It sounded like an animal.
Caleb: I didn't hear anything.
Winston: Me neither.
Sylvia: Maybe your shark hearing heard an animal from the zoo?
Jackie: Maybe, but…how did it sound so clear? A-And what animal was it?
Suddenly, their zords pop up from behind their backs and start making panicked noises at them.
Sylvia: Shoot! Monster attack!
Benny: (whips out her Morpher) Let's go!
Finally, we take a break from the repetition and cut to the Arrow Galion.
Insidion: (chuckles) Brilliant, isn't it, Sagittar? The Zoo-Keepers don't even know that Rosebug's nightmare perfume is making them repeat the same dream!
We then cut to a shot of their monitor…
…and then linger for about 10 seconds on the rangers as they lay somewhere in Dolphin Coast.
Blockhead: Alright, we get it, now where is your hunter!?
Insidion: Not to worry. Rosebug is simply busy with the rest of our plan.
We then hard cut to an underground area of the city where we see the real Rosebug to the right side of the frame behind some rails…as she uses her weird silver watering can blade to pour water onto her secret weapon AKA gigantic, brown, and slowly growing flower pod.
Rosebug: Yes my beautiful carnivorous pod! Grow and grow until you blossom into a gorgeous, gigantic flower!
Next, we hard cut to part of what happened earlier today. Rosebug stands in what looks to be a city park and uses her giant shoulder flowers to spray a yellow-green mist all around Dolphin Coast, which puts everyone to sleep. Now in the original Sentai footage, we see even the zoo animals are being affected too by showing a sleepy Black Rhino and Capybara.
But since the Rhinos at the Washi Safari Zoo and Aquarium are holographic, as well as probably some Capybaras in the Jungles of Earth exhibit, we're going to replace it with footage of Martha falling asleep, and then Hitarthi and Tiana sleeping by the elephant exhibit to emphasize that everyone is affected. Even the ranger's loved ones.
Insidion: All that's left is for the flower pod to grow, and then…
He says this as we see hypothetical footage of the pod sprouting green tentacles out of its top, before cutting above to show that this plan would mean every single living thing in Dolphin Coast gets eaten while they're asleep, and the city ends up in ruins.
Now then, back to the present with our villains.
Sagittar: (chuckles with joy) This may be your most brilliant idea yet! Well done, Insidion!
Insidion: (turns to him) Thank you, master. I hope the hunt is…successful.
Interestingly, he says this in a way that almost sounds remorseful while bowing his head, before we get one last monitor shot of the team sleeping, unaware of the danger.
Cue Theme Song (1 Minute)
Once again, the yellow effect occurs we cut to the morphed team, running up to the same power station before stopping.
Jackie: It's already giant!?
Rosebug: Hmph. It's like an ugly steel flower!
But thankfully, unlike the last two times, Jackie finally catches on to this.
Jackie: Huh? …Wait…Haven't we…
Caleb: Well, what are we waiting for!?
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Cubimals Go!

Jackie: Wait, hold on…I've DEFINITELY heard that before!
Benny and Caleb: Huh?
The Megazord then comedically tilts its head before we cut down to Winston and Sylvia.
Winston: W-What are you doing!? Cut free already!
Sylvia: Now that she mentions it…
Rosebug: Hahaha! See? MUCH more beautiful!
Benny: Huh? B-Beautiful!? Oh please! I'll show you something beautiful!
The red ranger spins his command cube and with a push of the arms and blade, the Megazord cuts free, which finally makes things click for Benny.
Benny: (softly gasps) Okay, I've definitely said that before…Wait! When we defeat her, she says…?
Benny and Jackie: Guess you got me right in the roots!
Caleb: What!? R-Really?
Cue a quick shot of "Rosebug" backing away a little worried, before cutting to the team as they spin their Morphers.
Jackie: Let's find out if we're right.
Once again, they plug their Morphers back into their Command Cubes, before cutting to the same Megazord charging its finisher with a slow sword wave shot.
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Wild Final Strike!
Energy pours over them and launches out into their 3 slash finisher for the 3rd time this episode.
Rosebug: Ah! Guess you got me right in the roots!
She falls to the ground and explodes as the Megazord turns around and poses over another successful victory for the third time today.
Benny: Aha!
Jackie: I knew it!
Benny: Did you see that!?
Caleb: What the…
Hard cut back to the ground as the team, now unmorphed regroups.
Benny: Okay, this is some SEROUS Déjà vu.
Jackie: I don't think it's that simple. We keep repeating this same scenario over and over again!
Sylvia: You think we're being shown some kind of illusion?
Jackie: Exactly! It's like some never-ending dream.
Caleb: Tch. Nightmare sounds more accurate if you ask me.
Winston: Well, whatever's going, we have to find a way out of this. ESPECIALLY if this is some weird plan by the Shooting Star Poachers.
Benny: …Jackie…I'm struggling to remember, but…didn't we talk about something…important earlier today?
Jackie: …I…I think we did…But what was it though?
Benny: Hmm…Wait! I-I think I'm starting to remember!
With a brief flash, we then hard cut to earlier that day down in the Sanctum. Specifically, with a shot of Benny, seeming to have stepped out of the elevator to his backyard, walking into their base, before spotting Jackie in the Training Section. Except…she's not training. As we briefly cut to Jackie…we see her standing still, her heading looking down at some kind of photo…and her eyes a little bit teary.
Benny: (walking up to her) Jackie?
She turns around spooked, dropping the photo in her hand on the ground.
Jackie: (trying to wipe her tears) M-Morning.
Benny: Sorry to startle you. (looks down) Oh, you dropped this.
He picks up the photo, but as he starts handing it to her, he notices what's on the picture. It's a family photo. One taken on the beach with a younger Jackie, a Hawaiian Man with long black hair and a surfboard, and a Thai woman with brown hair in a ponytail wearing a soldier uniform.
Benny: …Is…this your family?
Jackie: (as she takes back the photo) Y-Yeah…Today's their wedding anniversary…Usually, we're all super busy with our work, so it can be a little hard for family gatherings, but this is the day we always get to see each other…At least it was…I was planning on taking a plane, but, with all the ranger stuff going on, I…didn't wanna risk it.
Benny: Ah. I see.
Jackie: (Sighs) It's okay though. Probably would've just been a lot of beach time anyway.
Benny: …(gets an idea) Well let's do that.
Jackie: Huh? Do what?
Benny: The beach. Let's go to the beach, together.
Jackie: (blushing a little) R-Really? You want to go to the beach with me?
Benny: Yeah, sure! I mean, technically, I was gonna use this afternoon to look at a few jobs around the zoo, but that can wait. Plus, we can bring the others!
Jackie: I…really like that idea. (rubs her arm a little) Oh! By the way, there's something I gotta show you!
Benny: Oh yeah? What is it?
Jackie: A new attack I've been working on.
The camera then cuts a few feet away to…an open bottle of water. Jackie quickly grabs it, positions herself a decent distance from one of their training dummies, sets the bottle to her side, then closes her eyes…and breaths in and out. She moves her hands in a wavy motion like she's charging something…Then…the water from the bottle seems to magically channel into her hands, followed by her opening her eyes and pushing her arms forward, which sends the water flying right into the dummy.
Benny: Woah! That's awesome! How did you figure that out?
Jackie: I was training two days ago with my suit on, and I noticed that, once I did a weird hand wave, the bottle moved. So, I kept working on it for a bit, and now, I have a new hydrokinetic attack to use.
Benny: Cool! Maybe you can use that the next time we fight a monster.
Jackie: (chuckles) Yeah. That'd be pretty sweet.
Suddenly, their zords pop up and start making panicked noises at the red-blue duo.
Jackie: Monster attack!
Benny: Let's go!
Hard cut back to the weird present.
Benny: That's it! You and I were down in the Sanctum talking about the beach idea, then we went to fight.
Jackie: Exactly!... Wait a sec…(gasps) My family photo!
She then shoves her hand into her pocket, the camera cutting back to Jackie in real life, still sleeping in a park. However, almost like sleepwalking, she reaches her hand down towards her pocket and starts feeling around for her photo. Then, she winces a little, her eyes fluttering open as she pulls her hand back, revealing a paper cut.
Jackie: (starts getting up) I'm…up. (her eyes widen) I'M UP. (looks around) G-Guys! Guys, wake up!
She starts shaking everyone awake. First Benny, then Caleb, and Sylvia. But Winston, despite being shaken for a sec, is still asleep.
Benny: (rubbing his head) Ugh. W-What happened?
Sylvia: W-Wait. I remember now. We teleported downtown after our zords panicked.
Caleb: Yeah. A-And there was this weird flower monster!
Benny: Right. Then we morphed and fought…But what happened after that?
We finally transition to a flashback giving us the full picture.
The camera pans to the left as we see, in this city park, the team with their Savage Sabers out and fighting Rosebug. Despite getting in some clashes, they're not landing any effective hits, the same going for Rosebug, who then tries to run for it, only for the team to surround her.
Rosebug: Ugh! Enough! (continues fighting while speaking) I, Rosebud, don't have time for this! You know what? Take this!
Her shoulder flowers then glow green and start spraying her Nightmare Perfume.
Rosebug: That's it! Take it all in!
She then starts cackling and we get the shot from earlier where we saw her spray her perfume out farther, going on to affect the town before we cut to Benny and Sylvia standing there confused by this as the sparkly effect appears yet again.
Benny: What is that smell?
Rosebug: Hope you have a good POWER nap! (starts running)
Caleb: Wow! This smells incredible!
He says this while acting almost like a cat, and confusingly rubbing his head on Benny's arm.
Benny: C-Caleb!
Jackie: (while slapping Caleb) Cut it out!
Caleb: (shakes his head) What on Earth is going on!
As he says this, Winston walks forward a few steps and then falls flat onto the ground, demorphing as he does.
Benny: W-Winston!?
Jackie: What's going on!?
The others are about to run over to him and check if he's okay, but then, they tiredly fall onto the ground falling asleep/demorphing in an instant.
Benny: (falling asleep) Aliens, zero…
Finally, the rangers remember what really happened as we cut back to the present.
Caleb: That's right! While we fought that flower monster…
Jackie: It's weird perfume gave us a nightmare!
Benny: That's why Winston is still sleeping. His sense of smell is too strong.
Winston: (pulling himself up/still sleeping) Agreed! (falls back)
Caleb: UGH. Of course. Now the problem is someone's sense of smell is too good!
He and Sylvia then struggle for a second, lifting Winston's upper half and pulling his head to the water fountain next to them.
Sylvia: (struggling a little) He's really gotta lose weight.
The two then start splashing water on his face.
Winston: (coughs/spits a little) O-Okay, okay, I'm up, I'm UP! (coughs)
Jackie: (eyes widened) Wait! If we've been sleeping, that monster's been free to do anything!
We then cut back down to Rosebug, who's sadly still watering the pod and making progress, with it now having green tentacle roots at the bottom as it grows.
Rosebug: Yes, yes, yes! We're almost there! Soon this entire city will be fertilizer!
She laughs as the camera then pans deeper underground, to a shot of the pod's roots, wrapped around…a giant purple cube…with an exclamation point symbol on it…while we hear the same "drilling scream" that Jackie's been hearing come from it.
Cutting back up to the surface, Jackie aims her ear down at the ground and hears this noise again.
Jackie: That sound. (stands back up) It must be underground!
Benny: (she starts to run) Wait, where are you going?
Jackie: In the dream, I heard this weird animal noise almost calling out to me. I think it's going to lead us to the monster! (keeps running)
Benny: (starts running) J-Jackie, wait!
Caleb: Let's go! (starts running after them)
Before she starts running too, Sylvia remembers Winston is still a bit drowsy from the perfume.
Sylvia: (pulls out two napkins) Here. I brought these for lunch.
She shoves them up Winston's nose and starts running after them; the Green Ranger being confused for a second, but then shaking his head and following after them.
Hard cut to the team, running down a flight of stairs in the underground area where Rosebug is, Jackie leading them.
Jackie: It's this way! We just gotta keep going!
Then, we see the carnivorous pod is about to reach a critical and dangerous side.
Rosebug: Almost there! Just keep growing my lovely flower!
Jackie: Hey, flower face!
Rosebug: Huh? (cue a brief shot of the rangers running up from down below) Zoo-Keepers!? Hahaha! You're already doomed!
Benny: (while whipping out his Morpher) You don't get to decide that!
They press the buttons and close the tops ready for battle.
The Rangers: It's Morphing Time! Zoo Mode Go!
Of course, they spin the tops while saying this, wave the Morphers, and open them up to quick change, only this time, it's done with a nice camera pan. And of course, we finally get a roll call for this episode, only this time, we're gonna make a quick Sentai footage edit where, instead of Benny, Jackie goes first like Caleb did the last episode.
Jackie: Keeper of the Ocean! Blue Shark Ranger!
Benny: Keeper of the Sky! Red Eagle Ranger!
Caleb: Keeper of the Savanna! Yellow Lion Ranger!
Winston: (nostrils plugged) Keeper of the Forest! Green Elephant Ranger!
Sylvia: Keeper of the Tundra! White Tigress Ranger!
Benny: (posing his arms) Power Rangers…!
The Rangers: …Zoo-Keepers! (cue on location sentai footage pose with CGI logo effect)
Rosebug: Fine! I'll give you a nightmare you'll never wake up from!
She sprays her nightmare perfume, once again.
Benny: (slicks back his helmet) Time to go…animalistic! (grows his wings) Primal Power!
As he yells this, he flaps his wings so hard, that it starts blowing back her perfume while the others get ready to fight, and Winston covers his "nose".
Jackie: Splashing Spray!
With a wave of her hands, she ends up spraying water from her hands, and much more effectively this time. And what's even better, it combines with the air from Benny's wing flap, blowing away the nightmare perfume for good.
Rosebug: Huh!? T-This can't be possible!
We then hard cut to Caleb, Winston, and Sylvia changing their Savage Sabers to blaster mode.
Caleb, Winston, and Sylvia: Fire!
3 cubic blasts fly upward, directly hitting Rosebug's flowers and blowing them up.
Rosebug: Ow! (gasps) No! You animals destroyed my precious flowers!
With the flowers gone, we then briefly cut back to the surface to a few quick shots of everyone in Dolphin Coast finally starts waking up as the glitter effect fades, with the last shot being a split screen one of Martha waking up in her office, and Hitarthi and Tiana waking up by the elephant habitat.
Benny: So much for never-ending nightmares!
Rosebug: You may think you've won, but you forgot about my carnivorous pod!
The rangers quickly look to their left, but it's too late, as spikes at the bottom of the pod glow green and stretch out into tentacles that quickly warp around the team.
Benny: (while getting captured) Ah! What is this!?
Rosebud: (laughs) My pod's tentacles will eat every living thing in this city until it blooms into a flower!
The last part is said as the pod starts "pulsing" if you will, and glowing blue from the top while its tentacles raise the team off the ground. Rosebug then continues to talk as the rangers struggle in the flower pod's grasp.
Rosebug: I was gonna let it eat you all while you sleep…but now, I guess you five have to be eaten while you're awake!
Caleb: No! W-We'll stop you! (said while dropping his blaster)
Rosebug: The only way to stop the pod is to cut off all its roots! And let's be honest, none of you are in a position to do that right now! (laughs)
The flower pod then glows and sends green electricity through its roots to shock the team.
Jackie: (getting shocked) G-Guys! You're the best team I could've asked for!
Benny: (getting shocked) J-Jackie! (screams)
The top of the carnivorous pod starts opening with a blue glow, roots erupting out trying to dig to the surface.
Rosebud: I guess you could say, aliens, won, animals, DEAD!
The camera cuts one more time to the team, still suspended in the air by the root tentacles and getting shocked by green electricity, the worst about to come…but then…we hard cut deeper underground and back to that object trapped in the roots! It lets out another loud drilling scream, and with a purple flash, bursts out of the roots, and finally turning from cube mode to animal mode. Yep, it's the Cubimal that Harris found last episode alright. A Star-Nosed Mole to be exact (Adapted from "Cube Mogura"), but one with a golden drill for a nose. It then zooms upward instantly after breaking free, and bursts from the ground onto the team's level at "giant" size.
Benny: (straining) Wait! What's that!?
The new Cubimal then zooms forward, its drill nose spinning, and drills right through the pod, blowing it up like it's nothing.
Rosebug: (screams in horror) What have you done!?
Back with the others, the tentacles finally disappear, and the team falls to the ground.
Jackie: (while getting up) So that's the voice I've been hearing!
Benny: (pushing himself up) I-I think it's a mole zord!
Said Cubimal then turns back around to face the team and makes another drilling animal sound, but one that's more positive this time around.
Jackie: (now standing) Haha! Glad you arrived when you did, dude!
But the fight's not over yet, as Rosebug leaps off her perch down toward the team, and after landing on the ground, tries slashing them with her watering can blade while screaming her head off. But then, when she's about to hit Benny, he catches her blade with his hands.
Benny: It's time to finish this!
He pushes the blade away, punches Rosebug in the face, and grabs the bottom of his helmet.
Benny: Gorilla Mode! Go! (flips up his helmet)
With that, Benny transforms into the Red Gorilla Ranger and begins the final fight.
The Others: Primal Power! (said as they grow their upgrades)
Caleb leaps off a support pillar and slashes Rosebug right in the face with his Lion Lightning, and before she has any time to react, he slashes her right in the back while doing a summersault, followed by Sylvia running up and slashing her twice with a Tigress Snow Strike. The flower monster tries making a run for it behind some barrels near the pillar, but Winston runs up to her, and after missing a punch, Elephant Earthquake's her through the barrels sending them and her flying.
Once she lands on her back, she quickly gets back on her feet to dodge Benny, who almost slams his fists into her head. But right as she does, Jackie runs up and pushes her hands down on Benny's back while he kneels, to kick back Rosebug, making her drop her watering can blade. Then, Jackie leaps up, letting Benny lock his arms around her legs, and then spins her around fast enough to get 4 slashes in on Rosebud, with the fourth being strong enough to send her flying into a column.
Rosebug: (getting up) Oh, that sparks! Huh? What on Earth is that!?
The camera then cuts over to reveal the team in their new Fury Formation as she says…
Rosebug: It looks so…so beautiful!
With a spread of his arms and a glow from his helmet's eyes, Benny summons a giant red fist as energy radiates off the team, and they all yell…
The Rangers: Wild Final…(now fully charged) Strike!
With that strike, they send the fist flying towards Rosebud, who then gets punched twice and crushed by it hard enough to explode in an instant, finishing her off.
Back on the Arrow Galion, Insidion is caught off guard by her defeat.
Insidion: (softly gasps) M-Midaria. If you'd please…
Hard cut back down to Earth as Midaria teleports in with the green poker chip effect, holding a continuation coin.
Midaria: You know Rosebug, maybe you'll make a more effective nightmare on the macro scale.
She kneels, places the coin into her slot, then with a glow of her eyes and a distorted wasp buzz, Rosebug grows giant in a fiery burst, as we cut back to above ground and see the rangers have already made their way back up.
Rosebug: Time for me to bloom!
Benny: Now let's REALLY finish her off!
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: (whipping out their zords) Cubimals go!
We get a quick shot of the Mountain Gorilla zord charging forward, only to cut inside the cockpit as Benny opens up his Morpher.
Benny: Megazord activate!
This time, we see the Gorilla, Lion, and Shark zords charge through the rings of fire, because we're technically forming a new combo hear, and then show Benny press the 2, 3, and 6 buttons, before closing the Morpher, and spinning it to the blue sides. And like usual, the Cubimals go cubic and stack on top of each other.
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Wild Kong Megazord! Lionark Formation!
Rosebud rushes at the new mech combo and blocks the Megazord as it tries to hit her with the blaster like it's a blunt object, then stabs it in the chest with her blade like it's a fencing sword, causing the Megazord to step back. Thankfully, it quickly raises its blaster and fires rapid blasts at Rosebug that are all direct hits. But then…
Rosebug: Let's try a little fertilizer, shall we?
She says this as she pours green water from her blade and spins it around to summon…a giant flowerpot with Sagittar's symbol on it. The Wild Kong Megazord fires out its rocket fist final strike attack, but the symbol on the flowerpot glows and as it does, the pot rises up to protect Rosebug, deflecting the shots.
Rosebug: (as the rocket fists bounce off) Hahaha! I don't think so!
Caleb: Oh, come on!
Jackie: GREAT.
Benny: W-Wait! The Mole Zord's drill!
Jackie: Oh Yeah!
The Star Nosed Mole Zord zooms through the air and then lands in the Megazord's right hand.
Benny, Jackie, and Caleb: Star-Nosed Mole Zord! Mole Drill Ready!
Rosebug: What the thorns?
Benny: Let's finish this!
This is of course said as they take out their Morphers, spin them to the animal side, and plug them back into their Command Cubes. The Wild Kong Megazord then lifts the zord and starts spinning in place, while the camera cuts back and forth between its legs and top half as a drilling noise gets louder and smoke surrounds it.
Benny, Jackie, Caleb: Mole Zord, Wild, Final, Strike!
Energy pours over, and with a spin of their Command Cubes, the Lionark Formation finally stops spinning and rushes forward, allowing the Star-Nosed Mole zord to pierce right through the giant pot and Rosebug too, who starts sparking red lightning as she falls over.
Rosebug: (as she's struck by the drill) Augh! My roots!
Finally, she blows up, and the Wild Kong Megazord poses with its new zord.
Back on the ground…
Sylvia: Haha! Yeah! They did it!
Winston: (while rubbing his "nose") Thankfully.
We get one more shot of the Megazord posing before cutting back inside the cockpit to see the trio celebrate.
Benny, Jackie, Caleb: Yeah!
Caleb: (slaps himself) So, this isn't a dream, right?
Jackie: No dummy.
Benny: Animals won! (said as he slaps Caleb's shoulder)
Caleb: (as he gets slapped) Ow!
Back on the Arrow Galion, the brutish Blockhead takes in his fellow general's defeat.
Blockhead: Ha! So much for your greatest plan!
Insidion: Indeed. This failure is...surprising...Oh well. Better luck next time. If you need me, I'll be in my quarters.
Blockhead: (as he walks off) What? ...Uh, okay. Tch, weirdo.
As Insidion leaves through the revolving cockpit door, Midaria walks up to Sagittar's throne.
Midaria: (whispers) Well he took that defeat pretty well.
Sagittar: Yes. It definitely seems a bit off.
Midaria: Should I watch him in case of...you know what?
Sagittar: No, I don't think we need to go that far yet. Let's just...see what happens.
With the day saved, we hard cut back to the Sanctum with a shot of the Mole Zord and Giraffe zord, running around happily on the Lounging Section table.
Jackie: Good to have another one of these little dudes on our side.
Sylvia: Si. Though, how either of them got from Kenya or Canada to here is beyond me.
Winston: Well, it's a good thing they did. That was REALLY close, guys. We could've been eaten alive.
Caleb: Correct you are, fat man. But we DIDN'T get eaten.
Winston: (sighs) Yeah, but it's the fact that we could have that worries me.
Jackie: Agreed. These monster attacks are starting to get worse and worse. Best to be more prepared in the future.
Benny: Well, the important thing is, we live to fight another day and we got a new zord. Regardless of what could've been, that sounds like a victory to me.
Caleb: Precisely!
Sylvia: Right, you are amigo.
Winston: Eh, fair enough.
Jackie: …So, uh, now that we're all out of the nightmare…anyone still up for the beach?
And with that, we hard cut to late afternoon at the aforementioned beach.
And this is where we get a super quick montage of the team having fun. First, we see Caleb, who's shirtless and in yellow swim trunks, playing volleyball with Sylvia, who's in a solid white one-piece swimsuit, for about 8 seconds.
Then, we see Winston, who's shirtless and in green/black swim trunks, sitting next to Tiana, who's in a cyan swim shirt with navy shorts, and helping her build a sandcastle, while Hitarthi, in a teal bikini, puts sunscreen on her arms while watching them for 8 more seconds.
Finally, we get a scene lasting 11 seconds where, in the water we see Benny, who's shirtless and in red trunks, relaxing on a floaty, only for Jackie, in a light blue bikini, to swim up next to him, and catch him off guard with a light splash attack. She laughs at his surprise, but he quickly starts splashing back at her.
After this, we get a gorgeous sunset shot, before panning back a bit to see Jackie sitting down with her family photo.
Benny: Mind if I take a seat with you?
She turns around to see Benny, walking up with a smile.
Jackie: (blushes a little) Uh…s-sure.
Benny: (sits down) Oh yeah, your photo. It looks really nice by the way.
Jackie: Thanks. I like to think it represents my parents well. Mom was always the tough but kind soldier who taught me how to protect myself, and my dad was the one who helped me fall in love with the ocean. First, it was the beach, then surfing, next thing I know it's marine biology, and then, in particular, sharks.
Benny: (smiles) It's cool that you know your dad so well. I remember my dad being nice and caring and all that, but…not much else…You know ever since he disappeared, my mom, she just…she hasn't been the same…Looking back I think it made her more overprotective of me. Which I kinda get, but…still wasn't perfect. Case in point, I loved doing most of my homeschooling, but…I never really made any real friends…If I'll be honest, you guys are probably the first I've had in years.
Jackie: …I know the feeling. Because of my mom's work, we had to move around a lot, so…I never really made many friends either…But, hey, it wasn't always perfect with my family either. While I did get some good time with mom, she wasn't always around to help me out with stuff…So at least you know your mom well, right?
Benny: (smiles) Yeah. That's a good way to look at it. And…now I got you guys too.
Jackie: (blushes again) I uh…like your swim trunks by the way.
Benny: Really? Thanks. I think they look nice. And, your swimsuit, looks…pretty-I-I MEAN, y-you know, you look…pretty with it, or-NICE, you look…nice.
The two sit there blushing for a few more seconds.
Jackie: Well, uh, (fakes cough) it's almost sundown, so, wanna start packing up?
Benny: Uh, y-yeah! Sure. Sounds good.
Jackie: (as they stand up) Oh yeah, remind me again why Martha had to miss out on all this?
Benny: She had work to catch up on. Mole Zord's keeping her company, though.
We then cut back to the Washi Safari Zoo and Aquarium at night. Specifically, the Small Mammal house bordering the Tundra and Savannah Sectors. Inside, we get a shot of the top floor of the exhibit, which is home to the nocturnal animals, and see Star Nosed Mole hologram on exhibit while Martha holds up the Mole Zord. In response, it makes a happy little noise at her.
Martha: (chuckles) I knew you'd like this exhibit.
Suddenly, the two hear footsteps coming up the nearby stairs.
Martha: (sighs) And here we go.
Then, up the stairs, comes none other than the Birdman himself, Harris.
Harris: Martha, why couldn't we do this in your backyard?
Martha: (now more serious-faced) It's dark. Quiet. Easy to talk in. Plus, I wanted a change of scenery, so I sent the house's employees home early. Now then, let's play some catch-up. I take it you're the one who brought our newest Cubimal friends to New Zealand?
Harris: Y-Yes. I found the Giraffe zord in Kenya and I found the Mole zord last week in Canada. Though she tunneled her way here.
Martha: I see. And what about Goriz?
Harris: He…was a complete surprise to me too. I had no idea he would show up.
Martha: Ah. Gotcha.
Harris: Are you alright? You sound annoyed.
Martha: Oh, you bet I am. Why? Because things are getting worse. The battles the team's been telling me about lately sound more dangerous than before. They've been forced to fight each other, almost got destroyed in the forest, and APPARENTLY today, they fought a monster who put everyone to sleep with some "nightmare perfume", myself included, and had they not won, every living thing in Dolphin Coast would be dead right now!
Harris: Hey, hey, just relax. I'm sure it's gonna be fine.
Martha: No, it isn't Harris! I could've lost my son today without so much as a proper goodbye!
Harris: Okay, STOP. You need to explain this to me right now. If you are so paranoid about Benny getting killed out there…why not take his Morpher?
Martha: …I can't just do that.
Harris: Oh yeah? WHY?
Martha: BECAUSE—(inhales) Because it's the first time in so long that I've seen him so h-happy and confident in himself, loving what he's doing, and making friends, and I don't wanna take that from him, but I've just been so worried lately, what with Randall, and…! (groans)…What am I gonna do?
Harris: …I don't know...But you better figure it out….Just in case things do get worse.
Martha: (sighs) …You can go now, Harris.
Harris: Alright then. I'll be in touch.
The episode ends with the Birdman walking away, as Martha stands there, rubbing her eyes. Tired and frustrated.
